During dinner, I sat together with American Latin participants. They was a guy from Brazil – I couldn’t recall his name. The other two gals were from Argentina and Brazil. The Argentinean name also gone from my memory. But I remember the Brazilian were Sandra. They have been here for more than a year and would only be back home in March 98. No wonder they could communicate in Japanese fluently, especially the Argentinean lady. Well, back home, Argentinean speaks Spanish and Brazilian speaks Portuguese.

Heading to activities center, I met several Indonesians, all of them were from Java Island. If I am not mistaken, they were Pak Harjono, Pak Wiyono, Pak Nor (not staying in OIC – he was a Ph.D. student in the nearby University, a father of five year old son, with a wife, of course), and Pak Edi (undertaking master course in the same University). The wife of Pak Nor was not studying nor working, but could drive since he himself didn’t have a license. What a great moment.. Communicating in Malay / Indonesia would be a way of releasing stress just listening to Japanese!
