Guess what? I was so tired I felt asleep for nearly two hours this afternoon. I was waken up by the phone ring at 1615. Amran asked me to go to the gymnasium as there were Malaysian students from Ryuku University coming here to play badminton with us.
Well, I went down and took a picture as a remembrance. They were Zainuddin, a master student in Marine Study, Jasni, Saad (Lalat) – both are undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering, and Fadli (Botol), also an undergraduate studying Computer Engineering.
Jasni would be going back to Malaysia in March 98. He told me he already had secured a job as Production Manager at Matsushita in Sungai Petani. Starting salary would be around RM2.4K. He bought a four-year-old Honda Prelude for Y640K. He said his parents would help him pay the custom tax which could be in the figure of RM24K.
Zainuddin also had a car – too bad the car was scratched yesterday. Jasni’s car had also been padded with mud, probably done by kids around the block. He was so attached to his car that he couldn’t speak much during dinner.
Amran played with us, but he left right after the games for a shower. We continued getting to know each other during the dinner before they left around 2000. Irwan (Shima) and Suhaili arrived around 1900 since they have a discussion with a Japanese student back in their dorm.
