At 1715, the Front B receptionist called in and wanted me to meet an old Japanese (who earlier called Amran for an appointment at 1700). He brought us out and we had dinner in McDonalds. Mr Ikeda used to live in (Sabah/Sarawak) for 9 years. He was 23, at 1940, when he first came to Sabah/Sarawak.
While he was there, he was caught three times. Traveling from one place to the other was only at night – by foot. Kota Kinabalu then was known as Jesselton. He was in Miri, Api-Api, Labuan, Sandakan and some other places in Sabah and Sarawak. [Remember that Sabah and Sarawak only joined Tanah Melayu in 1963]. His job then was catching fishes for Sardine Can Food. We spent together about 3 hours. I have a picture of him.
