This paper discusses the methodology of developing the product data modeling (PDM) to support concurrent engineering. Artificial intelligent is used to explore the usage of product data in automated manufacturing applications. The proposed structure of the methodology has taken into account the current systems' structures, their advantages and shortcomings. Data exchange standard, STEP, is used to model the product data.
