Scribe's Report
- The RunNot everyone likes point-to-point runs in fact it is rumoured that stalwarts like Vatican Rag and Jonesy positively avoid them. But there they both were this week along with the 39 runners which made it - what crisis? The run started from the service station at Sentul much to the amusement of those purchasing bensin seeing a load of bulehs stripping off and donning running attire. A few were seen heading off before the appointed hour including The Rope, Magic Dragon and Witless but then at our age and level of fitness we need a head start. Off over the footbridge to a familiar but less used area. The trail meandered around on trails and through crops with the occasional kampong. There were rather too many crops and narrow little mud walls for my liking but then everyone else seemed to enjoy the run.
The trail inevitably led to the river and across only to double back across the river but catching most of the runners. The hares had laid plenty of loops going down and back up which caught most runners but VR was positively tedious by re-appearing ahead of this Scribe.
It was a long run but even so most runners except Angie made it to the finish by 6.20. The run finished at the Services on the other side of the Jagorawi. The run discussion was kind to the hares for this overly long point to point. Luckily at this stage Angie was not back. Jonesy liked the run which as usual for a point-to-point he ran (power walked) the last bit twice. Bolt-1-On thought the run was magnificent. Tarzan complained about the p-to-p as he had no driver and the hares used KKN with the Satpam. Konkrete liked the middle bit as it was exactly the same run as he laid a few months ago. Pretty Boy thought that all the other commentators were miserable cunts for not being more exciting in their comments about what he thought was a fucking good run. The stand-in HM, Superbrat declared it an excellent run. Well as you all know the final word goes to the scribe. It was too long for a point-to-point. There were too many crops but then with every square inch of the land around Jakarta being planted, unless you run on road, they are difficult to avoid. The hares laid good paper with some half decent checks. All-in-all a not bad run.
The Circle
With the HM absent Superbrat stepped into the breach and immediately changed all the normal proceedings putting announcements first. There were the usual renditions of "The Frenchman Went to ......." and "Allouette" which one associates with Bastille Day. However this stole the Hares song. Some clever bugger noticed that, as Herpes gave a DD to Bolt-1-On for his leaving early, Herpes was the Hare and the RA. How could this be? It would not have happened under the old committee. There were calls for ice but he managed to get away with it.
Down downs there were plenty including to the Hares who were like old woman chatting to everyone in the circle as they went round pouring the piss. Our two German visitors enjoyed a few drinks for heinous crimes like being improperly dressed and wanking in the circle.
The shortage of songs was compensated by the amount of jokes. Tarzan started selecting people at random to sing songs for which they were rewarded with a singlet - sounds like KKN to me. The co-Hare - song was to the tune of "Give me the good old Vino". This famous French song had words about a girl named FiFi and "It Hurts when I Pee-a"
Bob Coombes finally got his name - Yard-dog. You have to be Geordie to understand this. Prick of the week would have been Angie but instead his guest was lined up. Just at this moment Angie ran in at 7.35 only to reveal that he had left the Prick of the week award at home. He was advised that his driver had just been sent away - to the run start to see if he was there. Well he had been but wasn't now.
