On this page you will find my recomndations for songs. This all started because I work retail and I was tired of listening to the same songs over and over everyday. I wanted a cd I could drive home to that wasn't in English (mostly). So I complied my favorite anime songs and made a cd and now I'm happy. These are in no order whatsoever.
Song Title: My Heart, Your Heart
Series: Ah! My Goddess!
Album: Original Soundtrack
2 cents: An easy song to sing. Fun song to drive to.
Song Title: Boku to ikiru koto ga kimi no shiawase (Keiichi version)
Series: Ah! My Goddess!
Album: Original Soundtrack Vol 2, Gift from the Gods
2 cents: This is a beautiful song. I love the acoustic guitar. It sounds sad, at least listening to the way he sings it. It's placement in the episode is perfect. Nice ballad.
Song Title: Konya wa Hurricane
Series: Bubblegum Crisis 2032
Album: Best Collection
2 cents: This is my most favorite anime song of all time. Possibly even my favorite song of all time. I love the beat; it's a song that begs to be played loud. It casues people to look at you weird at stoplights.
Song Title: There's a Hurricane Tonight
Series: Bubblegum Crisis 2032 Eng Dub
Album: --
2 cents: Ok, so this one is in English. As far as background music and background singers go, I like the Japanese version better. Priss' English singing voice is okay. My copy of this song is really bad, but after all the effort I went through to find it, I don't mind. It's odd, when singing this in English, the Japanese version runs though my head and vice versa.
Song Title: Rock Me
Series: Bubblegum Crisis 2032
Album: Best Collection
2 cents: Another great song from a short and older series. The beat is roughly the same as 'Konya wa Hurricane'. Maybe that's why I like it. They're both good rock songs with loud guitars. Loud is good when you're driving and trying to stay awake late at night or early in the morning.
Song Title: Rock Me
Series: Bubblegum Crisis 2032 Eng Dub
Album: --
2 cents: I definately don't like Priss' voice in this one or the way she sings it. The words and cut offs aren't as crisp as they are in the Japanese version. She just trails off. Still a good song if you like the original.
Song Title: Itooshi Hito No Tame Ni
Series: Fushigi Yuugi
Album: Original Soundtrack
2 cents: As I watched the series this song grew on me until I couldn't get enough of it. But I've noticed that the version played in the episode openings and the one on the soundtrack are just a tad different.
Song Title: Chijou no Seiza
Series: Fushigi Yuugi
Album: Eikouden Soundtrack
2 cents: A beautiful love song. Easy to sing and the words really stay in your head, but not in an annoying way.
Song Title: Successful Mission
Series: Saber Marionette
Album: Vocal Best
2 cents: Fast-paced, play-it-loud song.
Song Title: Forest of the Round Dance
Series: Vampire Princess Miyu
Album: Best Collection
2 cents: The song is so different from everything else. I like it for its mysterious quality as well as the traditional sounding instruments in the background. Miyu's voice is so hyponotic. It's easy to understand why her victims fell so easily.
Song Title: Rise
Series: Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex
Album: SAC Original Soundtrack Vol 2
2 cents: Now that you have mastered enough Japanese to sing your favorite songs, we come to another language which I believe is more complex than Japanese: Russian. It doesn't help that the words in the cd booklet are written in Cyrillic. I'm not usually much of a techno fan, but this song is cool. Sometimes all you want is noise. I like the words: "Save your tears for the day when your pain is far behind."
Song Title: The Thesis of Cruel Angels
Series: Neon Genesis Evangelion
Album: Original Soundtrack 1
2 cents: Just a really good song from a really good series.
Song Title: Ai no Senshi
Series: Sailor Moon
Album: Mirai he Mukatte
2 cents: Probably my favorite song from the anime.
Song Title: SailorStars Song
Series: Sailor Moon
Album: SailorStars Music Collection Vol 1
2 cents:Easy song to sing, not too annoying like 'I am Sailormoon'.
Song Title: Kirari Sailor Dream
Series: Pretty Guardian Sailormoon
Album: 1st Single
2 cents: Another song that grew on me as I watched the series.
Song Title: C'est la Vie
Series: Pretty Guardian Sailormoon
Album: 1st Single
2 cents: Fun and easy to sing to, catchy.
Song Title: Over Rainbow Tour
Series: Pretty Guardian Sailormoon
Album: Sailor Moon Character Single
2 cents: I did not like this song when I first heard it. I found her voice annoying and I did not like the background beat. But then I saw the episode with Usagi and Mamo-chan riding on his motorcycle and the song playing in the background and suddenly it became a great song.
Song Title: Lithium Flower
Series: Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex
Album: SAC Original Soundtrack
2 cents: Guitar riff. I love the guitar riff. If this song comes in a off vocal/karaoke version, I want it just to listen to the guitar riff on repeat.
Song Title: Making of a Cyborg
Series: Ghost in the Shell
Album: Original Soundtrack
2 cents: This is another one of those songs that makes people stare at you, especially your passangers. It's not necessarily a song to sing to, but maker for good listening. It sounds like something off the soundtracks for the tv series Xena: the Warrior Princess.
