When Sylia was twenty years old, having collected and created the necessary materials for the Hardsuits, she began their construction, starting with her own. The progress moved swiftly and Sylia chose to have another project in the wings for later: The MSX-01 Prototype Motoroid. The original Motoroid, technically, the MSX-01 was inferior to later models as time was a strain on Sylia while she was working on it. At a later date she modified the weaponry and created in it one of the Knight Sabers' most useful pieces of artillery, loaded with a high heat cannon that was mounted on the back and had orbital range, a computer system with an equal range, and a machine gun for in-coming foes. Heavy and clumsy, the MSX-01 would be used only for non-mobile attacks.
With this done, Sylia went on to the next step in her plans, which was recruiting the women for her team of Knight Sabers. Her first 'target' was Priscilla S. Asagiri, a young singer from the local night clubs. Priss' disgust with GENOM was well known throughout the street youth, as was her extreme style and her temper. She was the perfect choice for the Knight Sabers. Physically she was very capable, although emotionally Priss lacked some stability. Sylia chose to deal with that rather than give up the change at taking Priss in. And after a brief 'discussion' during which Sylia managed to earn Priss' respect through slightly violent means, Priss was initiated into the Knight Sabers.
Sylia then went as a judge in an exclusive dance competition. During the events she watched as the various women showed their talents, and when they were all through, she had chosen the next member of her team, a Miss Linna Yamazaki. Linna's dance style had a distinct look of the martial arts added to it, creating a perfect killing weapon whom Sylia desired for the Knight Sabers' front line offense. To bring Linna into the team, Sylia fixed the contest and Linna was not taken into the dance troupe she wished to join. Downtrodden for the first time in her life, Linna literally was on her knees when a woman with a kind smile greeted her and asked her if she would like a job with her own organization, giving Linna a warm ray of hope in which she might bathe, never knowing that she would have made it into the dance troupe all along.
Finally came the technical expert. During combat, Sylia would be expected to call the shots and take part in the fighting at once, leaving her little time to use the more advanced computer equipment that it would take for defense against GENOM's hackers and the scramblers in the Cyberdroids' nets. She needed someone else to fill that position. To recruit a member for this purpose, Sylia placed an 'ad' on the Internet which she knew any hacker would fall for. It was complicated, but not so much that Nene Romanova could not break it and find herself looking at a picture of Sylia Stingray pointing in her direction as a far more feminine version of Uncle Sam and the words 'I Want You' being typed out at the top of the screen. First startled, then enthralled, Nene joined the Knight Sabers without a second thought.
