WORK EXPERIENCE
1991—1993 Speech Teacher, grades 6-8, Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind, St. Augustine, Florida. Responsible for teaching individual and small group developmental speech, auditory skills, and spoken language.
1993—1996 Classroom Reading and Language Teacher, grades 6-8, Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind, St. Augustine, Florida. Responsible for planning and implementation of the F.S.D. Language curriculum.
1996—1998 High School Computer Science Teacher, grades 8-12, Texas School for the Deaf, Austin, Texas. Responsible for teaching introductory computer skills, multimedia, and journalism.
1998—2000

Technology Outreach Support Specialist, Texas Education Agency, Austin, Texas. Duties include providing consulting and training to teachers, staff, and students participating in the 60 Regional Day School Programs for the Deaf across the state of Texas.

2000— Assistant Director of Services for the deaf, Texas Education Agency, Austin, Texas. Duties include providing funding consultation, program review, technical assistance, M&S Audit reviews, technology liason, Teacher training contact, Charter school contact, and a variety of other services to the 59 Regional Day School Programs for the deaf across the state of Texas and to Texas School for the Deaf.
RELATED ACTIVITIES
1993—1998 I was voted Teacher of the Year 1996 for Deaf Middle School. I presented information on the use of Multimedia in the classroom at the 1996 Florida Educational Technology Conference. I have provided professional development inservice to staff members on Introduction to the Macintosh and Beginning and Advanced Multimedia in the Classroom. I presented on Florida's Information Resource Network (FIRN) and the Internet at the Florida Educators of the Hearing Impaired Conference, the Florida Federation of the Council for Exceptional Children Conference, and the Teachers of the Deaf Consortium. Provided training on use of the internet in the classroom, various software applications, and integrating multimedia in the classroom at the Texas School for the Deaf.
1991—1993

Participated in professional development inservice in Speech and Auditory Development, Crisis Prevention and Intervention, Macintosh Computer training. Completed Florida's Teacher Professional Development Plan. Provided lectures for high school students in Sign Language and Speech. Sponsored Middle School extra-curricular dance club. Accompanied students on Government in Action trip to Washington D.C. Provided interpreting services for students participating in U.S. Space Camp Provided normative data for research on hearing impaired students.
