 | Tenchi Muyo is a great comedy/sci-fi series, but there's a ton of
spin-offs and and each has it's own continuty. So I've decided to separately reveiw each one in this page (since there's no big
charactor changes I won't put it separate sections like Dragon Ball) So here's the Tenchi animes.

Tenchi
Muyo: The OAVs
Rating: A Best Feature: Great story Worst Feature: Stops on a
cliffhanger. Best Male Charactor: Tenchi Best Female Charactor: Sasami
This is the series that start
this whole sci-fi craziness. Tenchi goes into his family shrine and releases a demon held there that happens to be a space pirate
that was a being created by the greatest scientific genius, "Washuu". Also Tenchi finds out he's part of an alien royal family,
hanks to his grampa "Yosho" who's a fool blood alien of this family. Ayeka and her younger Sasami who are also of this family
join in on the wackiness, the cutest creature to be seen in an anime Ryoko a cabbit that can turn into Ryoko's ship, and so does
a clutzy airhead Galaxy Police agent named Mihoshi. Oh add in evil bad guys like Kagato and more, plus every female in this
series has a crush on Tenchi. It's pretty wild, but well worth the trip.
Tenchi
Muyo: The TV series
Rating: B+ Best Feature: Tenchi's dad becomes a main charactor.
Worst Feature: All the charactors seem to of lost a few IQ points. In this series, space pirate Ryoko lands
on earth meeting Tenchi on his way home from school while being chased by Galaxy Police Agent and clutz from hell, Mihoshi
(not in a cave like before). Then Ayeka and Sasami land on Earth as well, Ryo-ohki jumps in, and Washuu is found sealed in a
cave (and is more eccentric and has no connections with Ryoko). Also Kiyone (Mihoshi's partner) jumps in the show as well.
A new crazy plot starts and a wild adventure insues.

Shin Tenchi
Muyo
Rating: D- Best Feature: Mecha Ryo-ohki Worst Feature: The end theme.
This was a new TV series in Japan, that well, was quite a dissapointment aspecially for Tenchi, the great artwork
and animation was replaced with lame plots and slapstick humor. Almost everything in this show stinks, no great sci-fi stuff (it
feels more like a magical girl series), bad designs, horrid animation, a hidous banjo/square dance ending theme (very unfitting).
The only good things are that Tenchi gets a human girlfriend, and Ryo-ohki can turn into a mech. |
