From Kid to Adult: Nagase Tomoya
He is now 19, the last year of being a teenager.
I`m still a kid. And I want to stay a kid. My image of a kid is to be himself as he is, and not to tell a lie, I guess. Yes, I hate to tell a lie. Of course it will be different depending on the persons, but because I have worked with adults since I was small, in the meantime I want to stay a kid. Whatever I do, work or play or play guitar, I always do with all my heart. Don`t you think it will be boring if we don`t do with all our hearts?

But I made funny jokes by myself, trying to make everybody laugh. Yes, maybe when I`m tired, I`m most noisy maybe (laugh)....although not as noisy as Kaneko-kun (laugh). When the job is tough, it`s good to try to be cheerful and enjoy the situation, as it is a job that I like, not one that I hate. In this aspect, you said I look like an adult? Really? And I don`t look like a Ten-gu (an imaginary character with a long nose) either? Nonono, now my nose is expanding from here (Roppongi) to Kasumigaseki (2 train stations away)..(laugh). (explanation: to be a Ten-gu/have long nose means to be proud ).

Well, I don`t like to be proud, I think a proud person is a small kid. I think human beings, however seeming proud and powerful and have a high status, have a small existence in fact. If looked down from above in this vast universe, we are just meaningless dusts. So what`s the use of showing off that we are adults or powerful persons? That`s why eventhough I said that I wanted to stay a kid, it didn`t mean that I wanted to be a kid in everything. However young, I can`t throw away my responsiblity, and when doing solo not in a group, I have to be fully responsible for myself too. But when I was playing, for example billiards, I was totally a kid. When I was singing, I was totally a kid too, don`t you think ? I`m wondering if an adult is a person who has nothing to really enjoy with all his heart..... I think if a person boasts that his work is his life, then if his work is taken away from him, he`ll become a person with nothing left. A life with only work as the main thing is really a lonely life, we`ll wither and die early...... But there are adults who have the small kid part inside them. For example, Siam Shade`s vocal, Hideki-san. At first I thought he was a snob, but when I talked to him, he is a usual person, even a good one. He told me once he picked up a wounded pigeon and took care of it. Then he picked up another wounded one, and took care of those poor pigeons. When their wounds healed, he released them to the sky, and he cried when he did that......

In the past, I picked up a stray cat and took care of him with a friend. And an old woman neighbour rebuked us, saying: " Don`t give him food, as he`ll stay in your house then!". It turned out that she was the one who threw that cat away! I became angry at her and said back: "A cat is not a thing to throw away!" . I could not forgive her. I couldn`t believe that such a person existed. I`m a person who don`t think and design life in detail, as I feel that it is not interesting to do so. I think it is allright to live just as it is naturally the way you like it. But, human beings, although it is okay to choose their own way of life, they have to be responsible with whatever they do. They have to take responsibility. No matter they are kids or adults.
