Nightman rose from his sickbed. Everything was bleary.

"OH no!" he sobbed. "The fever has robbed me of my vision!"

From his cushion in the corner, Lunakun scoffed (or perhaps sneezed;
it's so hard to tell with cats). "You took your contacts out, DUH."

Nightman sweatdropped. "Oh yeah, heh ..." and rummaged for his specs.
"Ah there, now I can see. How long have I been out of it?"

"Oh, all of winter break. You were supposed to be back to work YESTERDAY
but I called in for you."

"NANI?" 

"In fact, you have to go to work in another two hours so you'd better
get dressed."

"NANI?" Nightman disbelivingly trudged off to the shower

"Well, before I fire up the Nocturnal Neon and head off to work, let's
look at AFSM."

"I wouldn't if I were you," cautioned the feline.  Nightman disregarded
Lunakun's warning and loaded the newsgroup. It took about five minutes.

"NO! Four THOUSAND eight HUNDRED and FIFTY-SIX new posts??"

"Kinda makes you feel like Jet Wolf, doesn't it?" chuckled the cat.

"Feline! Pepsi me!"  The cat blew him the raspberries. "No, not
particularly. Ok, sort by thread ... huh, not much OW going on. Say,
what happened last, wasn't I about to stop Cape Mike from doing
something really ... uh, destructive?"

"Yeah, but you had to go drop Ophelia off in Calgary and then the cold
laid you low but he'd stopped to run for president when you pointed out
that it was time for new elections and ..."

"And?"

"The good news is that some reinforcements have arrived--old friends.
And that fax from SuperSteve."

"Fax?"

"You don't remember? In the height of your delerium you got on ICQ and
asked him to give you his endorsement as a candidate for President of
Otakuworld. I think RockManX is your running mate and you're going
KickAss party."

"I am??"

"Yup."

"Oboy."

"Hey, you're not Sam Beckett. Now hurry up and get to work. You need to
work on your WG. You've got a new image to firm up."

"Yikes. Time to motor."
