Chapter three: Revelation

In the Ningenkai, inside the Fuji mansion

Yuusuke's eyes slowly open and as they focussed, he realised he is lying on the floor of the now familiar Fuji mansion. He sat up
quickly and surveyed his surroundings. Every one was on the floor still unconscious. He crawled towards Kuwabara - since Yuusuke is still a bit dizzy and that Kuwabara was the nearest person to him.He shook Kuwabara violently trying desperately to wake him up so that there is someone to talk to him.
Kuwabara (mumbled, eyes still closed): Just 10 minutes more. Mum, please....
Yuusuke got angry, he would not take such an insult. +ME?! HIS MOTHER?! NO WAY IN HELL IS #$%@^&^ *&%$#@ @#%$%^+ Yuusuke lifted his hand up and slapped Kuwabara across the face. Kuwabara immediately got up after the abrupt awakening. On the other side of the room, Kurama was also beginning to stir.
Kuwabara: What! What? What happened?!
Yuusuke: SHUT UP IDIOT!
Yuusuke, no longer dizzy, walked across the room to talk to the now fully awaken Kurama. He also noticed that Boton and Yukina are still unconscious but not hurt. Kurama looked up at the figure now standing in front of him. Yuusuke eyes him questioningly.
Kurama: I have no idea....(answering a question before Yuusuke even opened his mouth)...But where is Hiei?
There was worry in Kurama's voice. Yuusuke could tell Kurama was scared. At the sound of the name 'Hiei', Yukina opened her eyes. Kuwabara have tried waking her up but failed in all attempts and he is happy that she is finally awake.
Kuwabara: Oh Yukina! You're Okay!
Yukina: Where is Hiei?
By now, every one was up and walking. They started walking around the mansion to look for Hiei and the missing child of Destiny. Kurama heard a sound coming from the closet and went to investigate. Yuusuke was with him and readied himself to strike if it turned out to be an enemy. Kurama opened the closet door. To his surprise, it turned out to be Albert, Mr Fuji and the other guards, all strapped up with tape.
Albert: Hmmm mmm mmm!!!!!!
Kurama: Okay! Hang on a minute..
Kurama ripped off the tape that covered Albert's mouth.
Albert: AHHHHHHH!!!!!! That HURT!!!
Kurama: Well, it can't be helped..
They eventually untied everyone and the day's story was just beginning.
Mr Fuji: Well, we reached home unharmed after having to go to school and clear that mess up with you and that demon thing,
(pointing at Yuusuke, who only blushed out of embarrassment) and when we finally got here, the bell rang and these metallic
_things_ charged into the house. We were no match and was finally tied up and locked in the closet. We heard fighting when you
came home and then there was a bright flash of light. When we awoke, we heard your footsteps....Now, will somebody please tell
me what's going on?
Kurama was about to answer the question when there is a load knock on the front door. Every one was tense and got ready to strike. Boton went to open the door and when she was inches away from the handle. The door bashed open revealing two figures. One was a very angry and worried Keiko, the other, also very angry and very worried, was Shizuru.
Keiko: Where is Baka Yuusuke? (She demanded)
Shizuru: AND where is my baka brother? (even loader)
The Urameshi team, Yukina and Boton: Keiko! Shizuru!
Voice from behind: Glad to see you're all okay.
A figure stepped forward from behind the two girls and showed himself to be none other than the son of the god of the underworld,
Koenma. Koenma presents himself in his more mature looking teenage form, still with the pacifier in his mouth.
The Urameshi team: Koenma?!
Yuusuke: What brings you here?
Koenma: To check up on you guys, of course.... And to tell you that there is a group of powerful youkais, monsters, demons and even demon-gods that broke through the barriers to enter the Ningenkai world. So be careful.
Kurama: A little too late.
Yukina (innocently): But where is Hiei and Miyuki?
Koenma: They should be in her room. Follow me.
They followed Koenma to Miyuki's room. Mr Fuji and Albert were wondering who the hell is this person. Kurama was still worrying
about Hiei and so was Yukina. Yuusuke was wondering how in the world does Koenma know where to go in a huge mansion which he has never entered before. Finally, they reached their destination and Koenma opened the door revealing what was hidden with in.
Hiei lay on Miyuki's bed, his body very still. Kurama immediately ran to his side and found that he was still breathing.
Kurama: He's still alive! HE'S STILL ALIVE!!
Koenma (in a serious tone): Of course, the child of Destiny gave him immortality for a whole year which took almost half her life-force.
Everyone looked at Koenma questioningly. He turned his head to the right. Everyone followed his gaze and was rather shocked at what they saw. A flying _thing_ carried on it's back the sleeping form of the child of Destiny. Koenma took a few steps towards _it_. _It_ looked like some flying sting ray fish, just a bit rounder in shape and the skin a bit harder and earthly brown in colour.
Koenma: You may leave now, Kameya. Your mistress is safe with me.
The _thing_ moved back, unwilling to let go of it's precious load. Koenma was visibly getting impatient. He knows very well he cannot force the darn thing but he needs to get to the child of destiny now, while he's still got a chance. Then, Yukina moved forward.
Yukina: Please trust us, we won't harm her.
Kameya moved closer allowing Yukina to carry the unconscious child off it's back and then Kameya disappeared. Koenma
moved in to take the child into his possession and carried her onto the bed. After a few shakes, Hiei too regained consciousness. He was very confused. +Shouldn't I be dead?+
Yuusuke: Koenma, what are you doing?
Koenma: I'll explain later but I must do this now.
The child of destiny lay on her bed still silent and unmoving. Koenma placed three of his fingers on her forehead, the thumb, the middle finger and the index finger. The other's watched him closely and curiously. He said a few words in a language unknown to the others. Even Kurama had never heard of the ancient language of the gods. Yuusuke was wondering if Koenma had flipped his head or something. Then, Miyuki's forehead shone brightly with the opening of the hole. She opened her eyes, which are white instead of blue, and she sat up straight suddenly almost in a mechanical way.
Yuusuke: What did you do to her?
Koenma: Don't worry. I merely summoned her inner self or it can be called her unconscious mind. It'll not harm her at all. I just
wanted to ask some questions.
*Questions marks appeared on all the other's heads.* Even Hiei had no idea as to what he meant, but he was more concern about why is he still alive. Since he woke up and was cradled by Kurama, all of their focus is now on the Child of Destiny.
Koenma: What is the child of Destiny? (there is silence among the others, every one is interested in this question, even Albert, Hiei
and Mr Fuji)
Miyuki (in a voice uncommon to her own, a more mature one): The original child of destiny was a creation by god. The name indicates that the being formed is destined to create a whole new world to add to the newly growing universe. There are many created and sent to far off planets and different worlds to start their mission in creating mortal life. Their destiny is to create life and in the end, ultimately destroy the life they have created.
Everyone gulped in amazement, this is just too far fetched for them.
Koenma continued: Tell me about the history of the Child of Destiny of the Makai.
Miyuki: The child of Destiny which created the Makai was an incomplete being herself. (Every one's eyes bulged) She was born deformed and was cast out onto a land of emptiness to see if she was worthy. She was blind and had no arms. Her anger and frustration grew with many centuries passing her and she alone stays in an empty land with no life, not even plants. The gods soon gave up hope and abandoned her. She roamed the Makai world for eons, finally realising she had the gift of creation. She started creating beings, powerful beings like herself to stop the loneliness she feels. Because she is blind, she has no control on the appearance of her creations. They always turned out ugly and disgusting in looks. Soon, life bloomed in the Makai. But
she was still lonely, because many of her children fear her. They knew very well if she had the power to create them, she certainly had the power to destroy them. Her hatred grew once more with the loneliness eating away her soul. She eventually developed an inner self. A third eye to finally enable her to see the world which she has created. What she saw shocked her. This world was horrible. The weak are massacred and many of her children were so filled with negative energy, their physical features turned them ugly. This was when she decided to destroy her creation. She killed many, many lives. The monster's revoked and was destroyed in the process. Also due to this, she grew more lonely than ever and adopted a local youkai as her step son, his name: Fei Lei. He was a half breed of human and youkai, his looks follows his human mother. One day, he betrayed the child of destiny and locked her in a stone statue because he didn't want her to hurt any more of the demons in Makai. Peace stayed for a while, until the child of destiny reawakened and started going on a killing spree. This time she almost succeeded, that is, until she was killed. With
out the pillar of the Makai world, the Makai soon crumbled, but life finds a way and with every 300 000 years, the child of destiny will be reborn to finish what she begun, to finally reach her destiny and achieve death and freedom.
Koenma was silent for a while and thought about what to ask next.
Koenma: You are not willing to destroy the Makai, why?
Miyuki: Because I am not the original child of Destiny. (Everyone was shocked, even Hiei could not hide his surprise)
Koenma: But you bare her crest.
Miyuki: My mother is the original child of destiny. When she died, her destiny was transferred onto me because I was her only birth daughter and had magical powers which are hidden. Because I am not an ordinary child, my mother was very protective of me. My body human often could not handle the physical stresses created by my hidden raw energy which deteriorates my tissues and eats away my flesh. When I was 5, she finally decided that my life was more important than the destruction of the Makai and she sacrificed herself in order to save me. She made a deal with a youkai. Her body and my body will be merged, and the youkai will have her strength in return. The plan went accordingly. I watched my mother die before my eyes. I remember her screams of pain as her flesh and skin are ripped away. I was left drowned in her blood, my human body merged with hers. It was then that the youkai took back his words, and wanted to kill me as well. At the same time, my powers awakened in me, I released my anger, pain and hatred with all my force. I destroyed a whole city block. It was then that the crest followed me, reminding me of my
mother. But before the youkai died, he didn't want any one to find out about me, so he placed a spell upon me, the three diamonds on my forehead to stop the appearance of my inner self and to obstruct my memory. I don't remember a thing after that. That was when I was sent to mental institution.
Koenma: Will you destroy the Makai?
Miyuki
silence)
If I am ordered to, perhaps I will....With this, the spell Koenma put upon Miyuki broke and she collapsed again onto her bed. Koenma was disappointed that he only asked 5 questions, he wanted to ask more about the child of Destiny.
Hiei: Will someone explain to me what is going on? And why am I alive?
Koenma: After you died, which took me by surprise, the child of Destiny resurrected you. She gave you a power stone. The power stone gives any being immortality and immunity to any type of injury. That is, until it's own energy runs out. She has given you a very strong power stone, you should thank her, you're almost indestructible.
Hiei glares at Koenma, there was no way _he_ was going to _thank_ a human, especially not the one who has slapped him three times.
Kurama: So that is the white energy ball thing which passed between Miyuki and Hiei's mouth? (Koenma nods)
Kuwabara: Are you sure? I could have sworn she _kissed_ the shrimp!
Hiei (was shocked and tensed his body all over): 'WHATTTTT????'
Sweat drops developed on top of Albert and Mr Fuji's heads. Hiei literary lost his temper and lunged at Kuwabara with his sword.
Kuwabara -of course- retorted back and the fight began in the usual manner. Many swear words and name-calling are bounced from one end of the room to the other, such as 'SHRIMP!!!','IDIOT NINGEN DIEEEEE!!' ,'SHORT LITTLE RATBAG','STUPID COWARD'....and so on. The fight continued until Miyuki's body started to stir. Yukina immediately ran to her side and welcomed her awakening. Miyuki's blue eyes met with Yukina's red orbs. Both smiled as they comforted each other in silence. They have developed a very close bond just in a few hours of knowing each other.
Boton: Miyuki! Are you Okay?
Miyuki: I'm fine, thank you for asking? (looking at Koenma) You must be Koenma..(Koenma nods in response)..Hi! My name is Miyuki, Miyuki Fuji, nice to meet you...(back to her original childish, girlish, cute tone of voice, every one sweat drops, even Albert and Mr Fuji)
Koenma concluding in his mind +this is a strange girl+.
After every one calmed down a little, they all settled in the lounge room to discuss what they are going to do next.
Koenma: I propose that we (indicating all the boys) are going to have to keep our guards up around Miyuki 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As you have all experienced, the other demons will do anything to get their hands on the child of Destiny.
Miyuki (objected): Why does every one keep on calling me that! My name is Miyuki, Miyuki Fuji! (making her point very clear)
Kuwabara: But I'm busy! (protesting) Even on weekends?
Koenma: Yes, even on weekends. I'll be accompanying you as well.
Yuusuke: You will? Why? You've never done anything like that before!
Boton: It's because this order came from King Enma himself.
Everyone was silent. If King Enma wanted them to protect Miyuki so much, there must be very good reasons behind his decision. Well, since this is an order by Enma himself, no one could object. Koenma still wants to know more about the secrets behind Miyuki and there fore decided to stay. Hiei was under direct orders of Mukuro to stay so he had no choice but to stay. Soon, everyone grew sleepy and retired to bed. The girls all volunteered to stay with Miyuki to keep an eye on her, so beds were moved into Miyuki's large bedroom to accompany their guest. The boys all occupied another large room right next to the girls. Mr Fuji and Albert disappeared into their own rooms.
Hiei found himself unable to sleep! He twisted and turned on his comfortable bed, then he sat up abruptly. Perhaps it's because he's not use to sleeping on such a soft bed. He looks across to the others, all sleeping soundly, even Kuwabara +the idiot+ is snoring in his sleep. He glanced at his friend's face, so peaceful yet so tired. Hiei decided to go out and get some fresh air. He opened the window and prepared himself to jump out of it. That was when he heard someone crying softly in the distance. He turned his head to the right towards Miyuki's room. A figure was sitting on the balcony floor outside
Miyuki's room. Hiei quietly slipped back into his room and spied on the figure secretly. It was none other than Miyuki herself. She sat on a foetus position, hands clutching onto her knees trying to keep herself warm, cradling herself with tears running down her face freely. Soft mummers of sound escaped her lips. Hiei could not hear exactly what she was saying, he just watches her curiously. +Why is she out in the middle of the night, sitting on the floor, crying?+ Hiei asked himself this question sarcastically. His sarcasm soon disappeared as he sees a white bird fly towards Miyuki and landed onher out stretched hand. 'Thank you.' These two words could be heard slipping out of Miyuki's delicate lips as her eyes dried themselves of tears. The bird flew away. The child was silent for a while, then she got up and returned back into her room silently.
The next day started as a normal morning, except for the fact that Hiei did not sleep at all the night before. His eyes are slightly
black from lack of sleep and he was in a grumpy mood. He spent the whole of last night trying to interpret what Miyuki did and why.
Wouldn't it be soo much easier just to ask her, rather than suppressing the curiosity into his heart. He finally found the courage to speak to her privately at school. He haven't spoken to her since the incident yesterday that had something to do with _slapping_ someone on the face.
Hiei (cold, hard tone): What were you doing last night?
Miyuki (innocently): What? What are you talking about, Hiei?
Hiei: When you were sitting on the balcony floor in the freezing cold, why were you crying? (he emphasized)
Miyuki (face turned away from Hiei's gaze, her voice was soft): I.... I had a nightmare...that's all. (She walked away)
+A NIGHTMARE! THAT'S IT?!+ +That's the reason behind her crying her eyes out in the middle of the night sitting on cold, hard marble floor!?+ Hiei really didn't understand humans, especially girls. He grunted and took off on another direction by himself.
The whole group are now in school. Even Kuwabara, Kurama, Koenma, Keiko and Shizuru are involved. At the moment, it is the physical education class again. Every one is stationed at a particular position keeping an eye out for trouble. Shizuru acts as a *so-called* relief teacher. The rest of the group are all new students. Koenma is seen without the pacifier in his mouth. He looks very attractive in humans high school attire, especially with the formal jackets. Hiei wearing his usual black clothes is up a tree spying on everyone around. Kurama has caught the eyes of all the girls and even some boys in the athletic field. Hiei just grunted and looked away from his friend who was too busy trying to keep the mob down. Yuusuke is off sleeping somewhere and Kuwabara had to accompany his sister. She did this so that Kuwabara won't run off to spy on the girls in the swimming pool area, especially Yukina. Keiko brought Pu along to the swimming area and the girls are all playing around with it.
Miyuki was doing some laps around the pool. When she reached the end of the pool, a figure dressed in a green swimming suit waited for her patiently. Miyuki looks up and did not recognise the girl to be any one she knew.
Miyuki: Hi! I'm Miyuki Fuji. Do you want to use this lane?
The red haired girl smiled evilly in her green suit................ Hiei has also noticed that there are 5 new figures on the athletic
field. All have short red haired....Hiei feels a bit uncomfortable. +There is something suspicious about them,+ he concluded. Just as
Hiei predicted, trouble did break out. Everyone on the athletic field could heard a scream from the pool up on the mountain. All the boys turned to run towards that area. That is, until they were blocked by the five red-headed figures. One had spiky red hair standing up not so dissimilar from Hiei's hair style. One had spiky hair but this time the hair is left down. One had curly short hair that puffed up into a ball shape on the head. One had straight hair hanging down. The last one wore a cap that covered his short wavy hair. The guys immediately knew this was a challenge and they accepted it in silence.
However, on the pool area, most of the girls have disappeared due to fear and shock. They all ran away from the enraged girl who started to hit and *literary* threw people in the air when they stood between her and the new girl. Shizuru tried desperately to knock the red headed vixen away but her attacks doesn't seem to hurt the girl's body at all. +AHHH! that HURT!!! She's like a stone, SO HARD!!!+ This thought ran through Shizuru's head while she clutched onto her bruised and after she took one punch at the girl's face. A second later, Shizuru was thrown up into the air by the girl. Boton and Keiko watched in amazement as they have never seen Shizuru been beaten so badly by anyone before. Puu was making a lot of sounds to try and scare the girl away. With a flick of her finger, she knocked Puu out of the sky. Keiko charged due to her anger after watching the way this girl
treated her pet bird (Well, technically, Puu belongs to Yuusuke, but it is usually found near Keiko). Of course, Keiko herself was knocked against the fence and was left unconscious on the floor after the close encounter. Yukina rushed to her side. Only Boton was left in her way of destroying the child of Destiny, the red-haired 'Cyran' smiled her evil smile again. +Soon, your power will be mine.+
On the other hand, the guys are having a bit of a hard time trying to win against the 'Cyran' team. They're stronger and faster than any of the Urameshi team expected. The one with the cap on is facing off against Yuusuke, his energy balls are strong enough to rebound all of Yuusuke's attack, even the rei gun. The one with spiky hair hanging down is fighting against Kurama. They both are using whips of sorts, Kurama using his trusty rose whip and the other using a leather one with steel spikes on it. Kurama has already transformed into his youko form, but is still finding it difficult to out-class his opponent. He seems to be as smart as Kurama and can almost anticipate his every move. The big one with puffy curly hair is going against Kuwabara, he holds a big hammer. Even with the dimension sword, Kuwabara is getting irritated because he doesn't seem to be able to hit the other
person at all. They're just to fast. Only Kurama (in his youko form) and Hiei seem to be as fast as they are. Even Koenma is finding it difficult to blast the red-headed straight haired guy away with his energy stored inside the pacifier he always wore. +They're moving in lightning speed.+ thought Koenma. Hiei is busy trying to slice his spiky haired opponent to bits just as his opponent is trying to do the same to him, also with a sword. Both have similar fire attacks. Basically, the fights are well balanced.
Finally, Boton was out of the way as she too is thrown into the sky with massive force. The Cyran approached Miyuki, who is currently trapped with no where else to go. She has called out for help for the boys but no one responded. Shizuru and Keiko are back but both are too weak to do anything. Yukina watched in fear as she realises Miyuki's impending doom. The Cyran grabbed onto Miyuki's throat, dragged her across the tiled floors and plunged her into the water. +GOD NO!!!
SHE IS TRYING TO SUFFOCATE MIYUKI!!!!+ though Yukina.
Yukina was still paralysed with fear for a moment. She finally snapped out of her shock and started running towards Miyuki to see what she could do to help, but she was already too late. Miyuki's body was totally submerged in the water and unmoving after a few seconds of struggle. Yukina froze again as she studied her friend's face, all blue and lifeless, her eyes closed.
The Cyran finally let go of the throat, instead she took the crest of power and left the 'former' child of Destiny in the water. She put
the crest of Power over her head onto herself, and smiled happily that she had accomplished her mission. The other girls watched in silence, they can't believe this is happening. They half expect Miyuki to just pop out of the water and smile and laugh just as she always do. But this time, it is over. Tears ran freely down their faces because they know they have failed, failed in their mission, failed their friend and now they have lost her forever. The truth is that all the girls seem to be very attached to Miyuki even though they haven't known her for long. It's her childish attitude similar to Boton's that make her so attractive, her polite manner and innocence, her genuine smile and her sense of always caring and understanding. Now, she is gone.
The female Cyran appeared in the field. She has stepped down the steps leading from the pool area to the athletic field. The male Cyrans are pleased. The Urameshi team is at first confused by this new arrival, but their curiosity died as soon as they saw the crest belonging to Miyuki hanging from the female Cyran's neck. Well, Kuwabara didn't notice it. Kurama thought +That isn't possible, Miyuki couldn't..... She couldn't have.....It's just not possible!!!+ Images of Miyuki from the few days they have known her flashed through Yuusuke's mind. He bit his lips and suppressed the on coming rage. Hiei was quiet, a whole range of emotions flowed through him in an instant. It was difficult for him to comprehend what he feels. There is guilt...
FLASHBACK
Him seeing her naked, ripping her clothes and getting slapped by her.
There is sense of responsibility....
FLASHBACK
Mukuro: Protect the Child of Destiny with your life.....
Hiei closed his eyes and pressed all the new emotions down into the depths of his heart. There was a long silence which was finally broken by Kuwabara.
Kuwabara: What's going on? Come on, we've still got to fight.
Koenma (serious tone yet sad): We've already failed. The crest of power will only leave the child of Destiny if......she is......already..dead.
Kuwabara's eyes bulged and looked at the new girl closely, that's when he finally noticed the crest.
Kuwabara: YOU BITCH! WHAT DID YOU DO TO MIYUKI??????!!!!!
Female Cyran: She's a bit blue in the face, probably having swallowed too much water. (smiling evilly)
Voice: Do you really think I can be destroyed so easily?
Everyone looked up to face the floating figure in the sky. It was Miyuki with her 'storm eye' opened (the hole on her forehead), standing on the familiar sting ray fish called 'Kameya.' The Cyrans seem to be shocked. So is Koenma, he didn't think that the child of Destiny could be resurrected. The rest of the Urameshi team are relieved.
Female Cyran: What?! How could you still be alive?...It's not possible. I KILLED YOU!!!!
Once the female Cyran has finished her outraged exclamations. Miyuki merely raised her hands towards the sky.
Miyuki: ICSUS!! (pronounced as Ice-sus) COME FORTH!!! I COMMAND YOU!!!
A giant flash of light ball emerged from Miyuki's hands. As the light glowed in intensity and brightness, a very loud roar can be heard. Soon, a huge monster appeared in the shape of a dragon. It is similar to Hiei's black dragon spirit but much larger in size and that it is white in colour. The demon of light lowered it's head towards it's target. It's eyes glowed a brilliant red while the rest of it's body burned in white flames. It roared then charged at it's target. Mouth outstretched vaporises everything that stood in it's path. The Cyrans didn't even have time to think and they were disintegrated by the brilliant light. Soon, Miyuki slowly emerged out of her daze. She looked around her, confused at what she was saw. +Why am I in the air?+ Then, she noticed the Icsus or demon of light. +What the hell is THAT?????+ Once the Icsus's original target are destroyed, it is free to reck havoc on anything of it's wishes. It started destroying near by buildings of the school. The Urameshi group struggled to get out of it's range of attacks. Miyuki was scared that her friends will get hurt.
Miyuki: Stop! Stop please! Don't hurt my friend!
The Icsus pause in the middle of it's destruction and looks up at the person which has summoned him. She seems different. If she is not strong enough, she is not worthy to be his master and then he can roam free. It charged at her. Miyuki was unprepared by this action.
Miyuki: AHHHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!! (screaming)
Koenma: Miyuki! Don't fear it! Control it! Miyuki! You have to bind it to your will!
Miyuki: I don't know how!!! I'm scared!!
Koenma: YOU MUST! YOUR THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN! TRY MIYUKI! TRY!
Miyuki closed her eyes, focuses all her concentration and placed her hands in front of her. The giant flash of light exploded in front of her shut eyes which blinded her for a while, then it disappeared. When Miyuki opened her eyes, the Icsus was gone. +I did it! I bind it to my will!+ She slowly returned onto the ground with the Kameya descending slowly.
Yuusuke: Where did that big thing go?
Miyuki (pointing to her new earring): here.
Everyone studied it closely. They've never seen her wear this before. The earring is in a shape of a dragon. No one really understood what she meant, so there was a stunned, confused silence. Then, they heard the girls calling out for them and they all turned around.
Keiko: Miyuki! Are you okay?!
Miyuki: I'm fine. Sorry if I made you worry.
Koenma turned around to study Miyuki's face a bit longer.
Koenma: I see....Now I understand.
Every one gave Koenma a confused look. +What the hell is he going on about?+ Hiei thought. He is very surprised and overwhelmed by what just happened but he hid his shock under a mask of calm silence.
Koenma: Miyuki...Did you know there is a roaming spirit hiding inside you?
Miyuki: A...WHAT????
Koenma: There is another soul attached to you. That'll explain why your voice changed just then...Who ever that spirit is, he or she is very powerful if they can call upon the ICUS.....
Yuusuke: What is that special attack anyway? Will I be able to learn it? (starting to get interested)
Koenma: No, You won't be able to learn it, Yuusuke?
Kurama (curious): Oh! Why?
Koenma: Because the Icus is not a fighting technique. *questions marks appeared on Yuusuke, Kurama and Kuwabara's head*
Kurama: Could we find a more private place to talk about these matters?
Kurama indicated that they are not alone and the fact that their surrounding is totally recked. The buildings leaning to one side,
windows smashed and scattered every where. The trees are either burnt to a crisp or entirely ripped out of the ground. This is all due to a certain white dragon whose appearance has almost destroyed the entire school.
Miyuki: Well! School's out for the day! Let's go home!
Everyone nodded and started moving in the direction of the Fuji mansion.

Kuwabara: Now, can you explain to us in plain Japanese what just happened today and what is the 'Icus' thing? (author's note: I used Japanese because this is based in Japan, apologies to anyone preferring another)
Koenma sat down heavily. +This is going to be difficult.+ Everyone else gathered around him. Some sat on the floor, some sat on sofas surrounding Koenma awaiting his explanation. Only Hiei sat on the floor in the far corner pretending to be not interested. Koenma clears his throat.
Koenma: The Icus is an immortal dragon spirit which sometimes can be summoned by other beings to serve them. However, the masters which are able to summon an Icus must be a very powerful being themselves to be able to tame the savage heart of the demon of light. The Icus once summoned often takes the form of a material item. This is to ensure that it stays close to it's master protecting them. In this case, the Ices has chosen to take the form of a dragon ear-ring. The last time the Icus was re-awaken and re-surfaced was about 30 000 years ago.
*Everyone sweat dropped.* Hiei's ears twitched a little.
Koenma: The other creature we know, the flying sting ray, is called Kameya. It is a weak guardian spirit, only used to protect it's master if the master is weak or in trouble.... The people we saw today are called the Cyrans. They are a race of people that are as powerful as class-A youkos. That is why you guys found it so difficult to beat them.
Hiei: I did _NOT_ find it difficult to beat them. Give me a few more seconds and they'll become little strips of meat. (Hiei can no longer hold his anger within him when he heard the statement)
After a moment of looking at Hiei, everyone turned their attention back to Koenma. Miyuki concluded in her mind: +Hiei really likes to fight, he is too proud to admit defeat.......+ Flashback to the time Hiei was killed trying to save her life. +But he is brave.+ With that, she too, turned her attention to Koenma.
Koenma: Well, in conclusion, if the Cyrans were so desperate to get their hands on the crest of power, I say that others, maybe even more powerful groups will not hesitate to challenge us. In any case, we need some serious backup.
Miyuki: But I've already got Icus protecting me, isn't that enough protection?
Koenma: The Icus can only be used once in a day. If you use it more than once, there is a good chance you will collapse. The Icus may be powerful but it puts it's master in extreme mental and physical stress.
Every one is silent for some time while they contemplated their situation.
Yuusuke: Okay, how about this? Since the school is out for at least the next 3 weeks, I say we should put some effort into training Miyuki how to fight.
Everyone's eyes bulged. Even Hiei was shocked at the suggestion. The idea never entered any of the other's head before.
Kurama: That might not be such a bad idea. It would make it easier for us to protect Miyuki since she'll probably be in the GYM all day.
Everyone nodded in contemplation as the idea started to sink in.
Miyuki: Daddy! Will you let me train in hand to hand combat? It'll make me stronger! (having puffy eyes sparkling in the light filled with innocence)
Mr Fuji face faulted but gave up in the end and nodded.
Kurama: Since everyone has agreed to the proposition, I suggest that Yuusuke be the main trainer, with Kuwabara and I as assistant trainers.
Yuusuke: WHAT! WHY? I mean why does I have to be the main trainer.. and why isn't Hiei participating?
Hiei: Hn!
Kurama: Because _you're_ the best fighter out of all of us.
Kuwabara: Then why isn't the shrimp involved?
Hiei gave Kuwabara a death glare.
Kurama: Because he has to return to the Makai to report, or have you all forgotten who actually sent us on this mission?
Kurama made sense. Everyone agreed. Keiko, Shizuru, Yukina and Albert will also assist in the training of Miyuki. Keiko and Shizuru will make sure that Yuusuke and Kuwabara don't pick on poor defenceless Miyuki. Hiei silently disappeared out the window and began his journey back to the Makai.
+Why do _I_ have to be the message boy?+ Hiei is outwardly silent and inwardly fuming. +Stupid Ningen, why does she have all the attention all of a sudden?!+ Thinking back to the discussion, Hiei realised that no one was paying any attention to him at all, even Kurama, they are all so interested in that little bitch. Hiei pushed aside the thought that he was jealous, he also pushed aside the thought that he was lonely. All of a sudden, an image of Miyuki flashed through Hiei's mind. He paused.
Hiei: What is it about her eyes? Why can't I forget that sky blue tint?
Hiei shook all thoughts away and concentrated on reaching his destination.

In the Makai

Mukuro is impatient with the news. +It's about time he came back.+ For some odd reason, she has become very tense in the past few days. She feels uncertain about something, feels unsure as well as a feeling of guilt. When Hiei finally entered the tower, he is then immediately dragged away by Mukuro to the Conference room to face Enki and Yomi. Once inside, he began to tell his story starting from the school incidents a few days ago to present time.
Yomi: It would not be wise if we let another race of people steal the crest of power. It would threaten the entire existence of the Makai. I suggest the personal destruction of the child of Destiny now before any other incidents happen.
Mukuro: NO! I OBJECT! Enki, the child of Destiny is of no threat to us, she is merely trying to stay alive. Instead of killing her, we should join forces to protect her..
Yomi: Have you forgotten what she is capable of? The destruction of the Makai only a few days ago!!! She could of finished us then, we were lucky to have survived! We cannot let the chance slip by again, we must destroy her as soon as possible.
Mukuro: She could have destroyed us _BUT_ she _didn't_ because she didn't want to.
Yomi: I will not wait until she _wants_ to destroy the Makai.
Mukuro: Didn't you hear me? I said she is of no threat! She _won't_ destroy the Makai!!! You have no proof what so ever of the fact that she will destroy the Makai.
Yomi: The legend states that the next child of destiny will bring forth the destruction of the old Makai! That is enough proof for me!
Enki: Enough!!! BOTH OF YOU!!! (Mukuro and Yomi stopped arguing)
Enki: Hiei. (Hiei nods) You said that Yuusuke and Kurama are training the child of Destiny?
Hiei: Yes sir.
Enki: Then let us wait until they have trained the child of Destiny well enough to be able to send her back into the Makai.
Yomi tried to protest while Mukuro's face brightened. Enki raised a hand to silence both of them.
Enki: However, this is only a test. After the child of destiny has finished her training with the others, she will be brought here to test
out her new skills. If she appear to be an exceptionally well fighter, and are showing signs of aggression of any sorts, she will be
_terminated_ immediately. Now, Mukuro has been very stressed over the matter, I want you (indicating Hiei) to take some pressure off her and take control of some of the responsibilities.
Hiei: Yes sir.
Enki: You are all dismissed.
Yomi and Hiei started to move off. Mukuro stayed where she stood.
Mukuro: Sir, may I have a request?
Enki: What request, Mukuro?
Mukuro: I too want to train the child of destiny.
There was silence in the room. Enki was surprised by Mukuro's assertion. Yomi is not pleased. +I bet she's trying to win the child of destiny's trust so that when Makai is destroyed, she'll be the new ruler+ This idea stayed in Yomi's mind. +Why???????+ This question repeated itself over and over again in Hiei's mind. +What purpose does it serve?+ Enki is silent in thought, thinking over this proposition. Finally, he makes a decision.
Enki: Very well. I see no wrong in you doing so. But understand that you will have to keep an eye on her progress and continually report back.
Mukuro nods, determination set in her eyes.
Enki: You are all dismissed.
Everyone left the room in silence. Hiei was curious but wasn't prepared to ask why Mukuro wanted to train the child of destiny. +I'll ask her next time.+
2 weeks have past since Hiei's return to the Makai. Once he returned to the castle where the head office of Mukuro, he discovered that there is a hell lot of organisational things he must attend to. +Mukuro must have slacked off a lot to have so many papers lying on the huge messy table.+ After Enki became the new ruler of Makai, about a year after, Mukuro was appointed head chief in organising more fighting competitions and more training facilities to appease the people of Makai whom are becoming more interested in sports. But since fighting is the only sport they know, so these facilities and competitions are in high demand.
Hiei was kept busy all through out the entire 2 weeks. He had to organise the construction of 2 new sport facilities in the period of a matter of 2 weeks. Not to mention he also has to go around the Makai gathering the competitor's names and other information. Basically, he was very busy and disliking every bit of the work he has to do.
+Just because I'm her right hand man doesn't mean I should be put into these kinds of situations! Those God Damn $#%^@ &*(^%$$# &^%##%^. What the hell are they thinking? Who the hell do they think I am?...What the hell has Mukuro been doing all this time?+ All these cursers and swearing revolve around Hiei's mind. He would have preferred it staying in the Ningenkai pretending to be Miyuki's bodyguard. Hiei never accepted the fact that he has, in fact, become her bodyguard. Finally, it's almost finished.
Mukuro: Hiei, have you finished?
Hiei: Almost.
Mukuro: Good, once that is done. Return to the Ningenkai at once and bring back the child of Destiny immediately after her training. If you are willing, I would like you to test out her skills to see how much has she improved.
Hiei: Yes.
Mukuro turns around and disappears. Hiei watches her in quiet contemplation. +What is wrong with her?+ He quickly finished what's left to be done and is off again to the Ningenkai. Finally, some fresh air and freedom to do what he wants.

In the Ningenkai

Hiei decided to find his friend, Kurama, first. He had missed his friend and had wanted to meet with him to exert all his frustrations. This coupled with the reason that he really didn't want to face Miyuki alone.
He opened the window quietly and slipped into Shuichi Minamono's room. There is a figure still lying in bed covered under the sheets. +Stupid Fox, don't you know what time it is?+ He moved in closer and was tempted to jump on the figure just to give his friend a wake up scare. Hiei sat down beside the figure on the bed.
Hiei: Wake up. I need to talk to you, now. (the figure stirs)
Hiei: Kurama......(starting to get angry)
Hiei grabbed at the sheets and pulled. What he saw shocked him speechless. Hiei's eyes bulged to it's maximum size. There on the bed belonging to his friend, Kurama Shuichi Minamono, lay a very definite feminine body belonging to the child of Destiny, Miyuki Fuji. She's wearing a Singlet and underwear giving Hiei full view of her naturally curved body, shapes and size, leaving nothing to imagine. Hiei froze speechless staring at the figure beneath him, still holding onto the sheet covers. Miyuki stirs again feeling the warm sun rays touching her skin, she opens her eyes as she notice someone is watching her.
Miyuki: (soft whisper) Hiei?
The door slid open at that very moment, revealing the long, red-haired Kurama. He took one glance at the situation and decided to take immediate action. He dragged the still stunned Hiei out of his room closing the door behind him, ignoring the inquisitive look on Miyuki's face. Kurama let go of Hiei in the corridors outside. Finally, Hiei snapped out of his daze and shock.
Kurama: What are you doing here, Hiei?
Hiei (eyes narrowed, gritting teeth): WHY THE HELL IS SHE DOING HERE? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? WHY IS SHE SLEEPING IN YOUR ROOM, IN YOUR BED, USING YOUR PILLOWS AND BED SHEETS? I FINALLY FIND TIME TO COME BACK TO CHECK ON YOU AND I FOUND _HER_ IN YOUR _BED_!!!!!!!!
Hiei was literary screaming, but luckily for Kurama, the rest of his family is out for the entire weekends. He has the house for himself so he really didn't mind how loud Hiei shouts or scream at him. +Although, the neighbours might complain.+ Hiei finally out of breath stopped screaming. Kurama only smiled and bent down to face his friend.
Kurama: I don't believe this, you're jealous?!
Hiei's face turned a brilliant tomato red. He doesn't know whether he is turning red from anger or embarrassment.
Hiei: WHAT DID YOU SAY??????!!!!!!!!
The door to Kurama's room slid open again. Miyuki, fully clothed now, stood in the hallway watching the two exchanges. She smiles a weak and tired smile to both of them, then she walked in between them and past them on her way down the stairs. The two boys watched her in silence as she past. After Miyuki is gone, Hiei turned back to face Kurama angrily. Kurama only smiled and pulled Hiei in for a hug. Hiei pushed him back and stormed off after Miyuki, still red in the face. Kurama just smiles.
Hiei stormed out of the house into the garden.
+I am not jealous of that bitch! How could I be jealous of her? Unless I'm....NO I CAN'T! THAT'S NOT POSSIBLE! I WON'T LIKE HIM IN THAT WAY!+ +Voice: Why not?+ +Who's there? Who's reading my mind?+ Hiei opened his eyes in shock and looked around him frantically. There is no one around. +What the hell was that? That voice, I swear I have heard it before! Am I hallucinating?+
Hiei heard footsteps behind him and he turned around quickly to see Miyuki starring down at him with those same beautiful sky blue eyes.
Hiei: What do you want?
Miyuki: You're probably wondering why I'm here, so I've come here to tell you. I started training with Yuusuke and Kuwabara in Genki's temple after you left. A week later, my father said that I'm going down in my studies. Even though he said I can learn hand to hand combat but it is no excuse for me doing badly in my studies, even if the school is still under renovation. So, Kurama decided to help me out by tutoring me. The problem started because I kept on falling a sleep during his lessens. I have training with Yuusuke and Kuwabara during the day and I have to study during the night. Often, I'm too tired to study and fall asleep in his room. Later on, Kurama said I could borrow his room to sleep in since I keep on falling asleep in there anyway. That's the whole story, I sleep in Kurama's room while Kurama volunteered to sleep in the guestroom.
Hiei: Why should I believe you? (in a cold, cruel tone)
Miyuki
tone
of voice carry a sense of hurt) Because I've never lied to you.Hiei is silent, he never thought of it that way before.
Miyuki: There is no relationship building between me and Kurama, you don't have to worry about that, Hiei. I'm not your rival. Please, believe me.
With that, she turned away and walked back into the house leaving Hiei alone in the garden. Hiei started to feel ashamed about his actions but was still angry at Kurama for embarrassing him in front on her. +I'm am soooo _NOT_ JEALOUS!!! What am I jealous about?! All the attention that she's been getting from Kurama? It that why? It can't be! I can't be jealous! I am _incapable_ of jealousy!+ With this final thought, Hiei release his breath and returned into the house. Once he entered the house, Hiei's mind snapped. +Just what did she mean when she said she is not my _RIVAL_????? She doesn't think that Kurama and I are......???+
Kurama: So, what brings you back here and what does Yomi and the others plan to do?
Hiei: They want to bring Miyuki back to the Makai.
Miyuki froze.
Kurama (concerned): Is that such a good idea?
Hiei: Mukuro said that she wanted to train Miyuki, so that she can defend herself against others rather than rely on us all the time. So, how are the training going?
Kurama: Terrific.
Kurama's confidence sparked a bit of curiosity in Hiei. Miyuki blushed.
Kurama: Miyuki's is a perfect student. We only have to teach her once and she'll remember the move always. She is fast and talented. Her learning speed is faster than Yuusuke's or Kuwabara's, maybe even better than me. In a few years time, I bet she'll surpass me and Yuusuke.
Miyuki blushed even further, she's not use to being praised so well.
Hiei (sceptical): Really. Okay then, (eying Miyuki) I challenge you to a fight........

Genki's Temple

Yuusuke: He WHAT?????????
Kurama: He challenged Miyuki to a fight, hand to hand combat with no weapons.
Kuwabara: He CAN'T DO THAT! What did Miyuki say?
Kurama: She said yes.
Keiko: What? Why? She knows how powerful Hiei is, she has seen it with her own eyes. She also know that Hiei will not be merciful to her in a fight.
Kurama: Miyuki said that this is her chance to prove that she is as good as everyone said she is. Most of the time, we let her win. She has never had a real challenge before and want to test out her skills on Hiei.
Shizuru: I just hope she doesn't get killed in the fight.
Yukina: Hiei-san won't do that to poor Miyuki, will he?
Just as they finsh their conversation, Hiei appeared in the open doorway, ready as ever for a fight. He has been yearning for a good battle for a long time now. Even though he didn't expect this to be much of a challenge but at least it was better than nothing. Miyuki turned up on the other side of the room wearing a purple sport suit which is skin tight. Some of her hair was tied up in the usual ball on the left side of her head, leaving the rest to flow down. Around her neck hangs the crest of power, and her hands are covered by red sport gloves (probably from Albert). Every one took their seats on the side of the Practice area, even Mr Fuji
and Albert were sitting awaiting to see the fight. Hiei noticed Yukina's worried eyes.
Yuusuke: Hey Hiei! Take it easy on her, okay? She is only a beginner!
Yukina (close to tears): Hiei! Please don't hurt Miyuki too much!
Miyuki: Hey, I'm not THAT _WEAK_!!!! (she turn her attention back to Hiei) Hiei, don't keep anything back. This is a real fight!
Hiei nodded. He took off his black cloak and threw his katana away to a corner of the room. He lifts his fists up in a ready stance just as Miyuki is doing the same. +I can't hit her too hard or else I'll risk Yukina crying, I won't do that.+ Koenma raised his hand and drops it quickly to signify 'BEGIN'.

Author's note: He he he! I'll leave you guys in suspense, but I'll warn you, Miyuki is not as weak as you may think she is. Okay, hopefully, chapter four will be up soon and it will contain juicy scenes of Miyuki and all the boys in the Urameshi team. Until then, you must wait. Ha Ha Ha! SUFFER!!!
