*~*~*~

Time has passed by. Slowly, Hiei began to grow older. He was now about 28 years old and going on 29. He left Makai and Muruko to spend time with his precious niece Yuwari. Yukina had given birth to her whenever Hiei was over at Makai killing himself for Muruko. Had it not of been that he of had a heart and released him, he would have been buried up to himself with cuts, wounds, bruises and sores. Slowly resting his head on the couch pillow, Hiei tried to move his weakened body onto the couch for comfort. The light shines bright in the living room of Yukina and Kuwabara’s apartment. Yes…Kuwabara is the father….Ehhhh. For how much it traumatized and displeased him from the sight of his sister and the idiot having absolutely ANY kind of intercourse, he tried to just accept the fact that they were raising a healthy and beautiful child and move on. Yuwari was now four years old with Yukina’s spirit and grin. 9He loved that little girl more than anything.

“Uncle Hiei…?” Hiei felt a small tug on his shirt. It was Yuwari. He turned around to see her cute little happy face begging for attention. Yukina had put her hair up into pigtails and her new yellow sundress on her body. Hiei smiled. How cute she was in that sundress. Abruptly, Kuwabara had picked out the outfit but it was fit for a father to see his own child in a cute dress that just…. matched her face so well.

“Hello Yuwari.” Hiei smiled at her and kissed her cheek.

“Are you gonna play with me?” Yuwari began to jump up and down. She ran over to the other side of the room and grabbed her tea set box. Sparing with the weight of the box, she walked over to Hiei and sat it down on the table.

“Ah…another tea party I see.” Hiei grinned.

“Yep! Yep! Yep!” Yuwari smiled widely as if it were possible to touch her eyes. Hiei sighed. He honestly had found no fun in what little girls see in playing tea party. However, it made Yuwari as happy as a pumpkin so he couldn’t possibly disappoint her by not playing along. He watched her as she opened up the box and began to set up the tea set. Her small little hands curved around the pink and plastic teacups as she sat them down onto the table making everything look as perfect as possible.

“Yuwari, what are you doing?” Yukina called from the top of the staircase. She was slowly walking downstairs carrying a basket full of Yuwari’s dirty clothes. She looked at Hiei with a smile and then looked back down at Yuwari.

“That’s enough, sweetie. Let your uncle rest for a while.” She ordered in a sweet tone to her daughter.

        “I’m not tired.” Hiei yawned.
“But Mommy…. Uncle Hiei SAID he’d play with me.” Yuwari wined.

“Yes. But why don’t you guys play after your nap time?” She asked. Yukina was always on the dot for her daughter’s schedule. There was NEVER a time when she forgot what time it was or what was suitable for Yuwari to do next. Hiei always thought because she was such a beautiful and caring mother. She hardly ever yelled at Yuwari because she usually is a good girl.

“Well…..” Yuwari yawned. “Oky doky then.” Her head turned to Hiei. “But pwomise me that you’ll play once I wake up, ok?”

“I wouldn’t miss it.” Hiei kissed her on the cheek and she ran upstairs.

Yukina giggled at her daughter. “She’ll be asleep for at LEAST 2 hours, Oni-san. And once she does she’ll forget all about the play promise.”

“I really don’t care. She’s my niece. Of course I’m gonna play with her.” Hiei shook his head.

Yukina smiled. “She really does love you, dearly.”
        Hiei looked down.

“She’s always wanting more and more from you. Every day she can’t wait until lunchtime for you to come over. It kind of makes Kazuma-san jealous.” She laughed for a second.

Hiei smirked. “Well, if he’d spend a little bit more time at home then he does work-“

“That’s enough. Come help me with the laundry, please.” She tried to stop the conversation before they got into an argument.

“Alright.” Hiei got up from the couch and followed her into the laundry room. That room always smelled like soap to Hiei. Everytime Yukina came out of the room from doing loads of clothes, she smelled like Clorox. Now he was going to smell like it.

Yukina dumped the basket clothes onto another pile of clothes, which looked like Kuwabara’s.

“I need to separate the lights, darks, and whites into three separate piles.”

“Hai.” Hiei picked up a hand full of clothes and began to separate them. He had never done laundry before so he was hoping he had been doing it correctly or he’s be afraid of ruining a shirt or pair of pants. Suddenly, he came upon a blue jean overalls dress of Yuwari’s. He picked it up and began to analyze it with his eyes. It was very dark blue and had a giant sunflower design sewn on the front pocket of the dress. That was the dress that he had given her for her third birthday. He remembered how much she loved it. As soon as she opened up the paper wrapped box and found the dress her eyes entire face just lit up. She immediately put it on and was in it all day long. Yukina even told him that she had worn it for three more days after that day. He grinned at the remembrance of how happy she was. Oh how he wished he could make her happy like that forever.

“Is that the dress you gave her?” Yukina asked.

Hiei sighed. “Yep. Sure is.”

“Oh she loved that so much.” She smiled and kissed her brother on the cheek. “What’s the matter?”

“Huh?” Hiei looked up at her.

“You look…sad or something.”

“Oh no I’m just….”

“Just what?”

“I don’t know….I guess I was just thinking about how it would feel having a child.”

Yukina smiled.
“Oni-san, there’s no describing what a parent’s love for their child is. It’s very far out.”

“Try to explain it to me.”

“Well. Your love for them is so strong that you would just die for them.”

Hiei raised an eyebrow.
“Die, eh?”

“Mm-Hmm!”

Hiei smirked. “Hn. Sounds like way too much love for me.”

“What do you mean?”

“I could love someone but not DIE for them…”

“If you did have a child, Oni-san, you would know of that feeling.”
