Shuuichi, I Hate You!

Kuwabara shouted at Hiei and tried to slap him. "You stupid little idiot!" he snapped at the equally fuming fire demon. Hiei was trying his best to free himself from Kurama’s firm grip. "Let go of me, you stupid fox! Let me fry that baka with my dragon!" snarled Hiei.
Kuwabara to was trying to free himself from Yuusuke and Botan. Since he was bigger, it needed more than one guy to hold him in place. Suddenly Kuwabara stopped squirming. "Why don’t you guys just let me cut this little bastard into pieces while he was held by Kurama?" he tried to make a deal with Yuusuke and Botan.
Yuusuke pounced his head. "You, sit down," he ordered Kuwabara. His eyes were full of rage. He turned and looked at Kurama, still having a squirming little Hiei in control. Sighing, he looked around the restaurant. It was a mistake, bringing them to a newly opened Western restaurant.
As Kurama was still holding the jumping up and down fuming Hiei, a girl greeted him. "Minamino-kun! your little brother is so cute," she said and went off. It took most of Kurama’s power to not let Hiei fire the girl instead, with his Kokuryuuha.
At last, the fire demon cooled down. At least it seems so. Kurama had him sit on his lap with his hand around that fire demon. Kuwabara would be shut up whenever he wanted to talk by Yuusuke.
What is happening? It seems so peaceful a few moments earlier. And the next thing they know, Hiei and Kuwabara were fighting.
"I’ll buy you sweet snow if you keep quiet, Hiei," whispered Kurama, trying to bribe Hiei. Hiei bared his fangs. "I don’t want any," he told Kurama dryly. Kurama rolled his eyes.
Kurama stood up. "I think we’d better go," said Kurama. "But Kurama, your food isn’t here yet," protested Yuusuke. "We’ll come back another day," said Kurama walking out the restaurant with Hiei's hand still held tightly.
Yuusuke and the others could see Kurama and Hiei fighting outside. Kurama was swinging his finger at Hiei and scolding at him at the same time. "Thank god, Hiei listens to Kurama," said Yuusuke.
When they were near the park, Kurama pulled Hiei's hand to follow him into the park. Hiei followed and then let go of his hand. "Damn you fox. My hand…," he paused, saying that he was hurt would be the same as saying he’s weak. Kurama looked at Hiei who was massaging his sore wrist. Kurama crouched in front of Hiei and looked at Hiei's wrist. It was swollen and had a hint of blue-black under his skin. Showing that it was dislocated.
God, he had hurt Hiei. "Hiei, sorry. I didn’t mean to," apologised Kurama. Remembering how he had twisted Hiei's wrist this way and that, holding very tight to it and squeezing it numeral times, Kurama winced.
How could he treat Hiei like this and Hiei just shut up until the point where he can’t stand it anymore. And he didn’t even shout at Kurama for it. He felt very bad.
Kurama brought Hiei home and climbed up his room using the tree outside his window. Kaasan is at home and he wouldn’t want to see her yet. He pushed Hiei to sit on the bed and went to get the first aid kit.
"What are you doing fox?" asked Hiei. "I’m trying to heal your dislocated wrist," Kurama explained taking Hiei's hand. He pulled it away. "Hiei, if you don’t treat it, you won’t be able to hold you katana in the morning," said Kurama. Hiei frowned. "And your staying here tonight," said Kurama.
"No I am not," snapped Hiei. "You are to," insisted. Suddenly the door was knocked and before Kurama could do anything, it was opened. Shuuichi Hatanaka was looking at them. "Ano, niichan… I thought you weren’t back yet and I heard noises in your room. Gomen," uttered Shuuichi.
Kurama smiled. "Shuu-kun, can you please watch my friend for a while. I need to go down and take a basin of cold water," requested Kurama. Shuuichi nodded and Kurama went out of the room to the kitchen.
"What’s your name?" asked Shuuichi. "Hiei," he practically snorted on that. Shuuichi frowned. Why does his good-natured brother have a really annoying friend? "What happened to you hand?" asked Shuuichi, gesturing to Hiei's swollen wrist.
Hiei looked at his wrist and frowned deeper. "I don’t know what your stupid brother did to it," Hiei accused. Shuuichi bit his lower lip. "How can you that kind of things to my brother? He looked so worried about you," said Shuuichi, taking his brother’s side. "That’s his problem," snorted Hiei.
"I’ll tell niichan. He shouldn’t have deserve a friend like you. I mean you shouldn’t deserve a friend like my brother," scolded Shuuichi. Hiei narrowed his eyes. "Ok, if you look at it that way, tell that to your dear niichan. You’re right, I don’t deserve to be his friend. Bye," with that Hiei flitted out the window.
Shuuichi covered his mouth. His brother’s friend should fall off the window and crack a few bones. But when he ran to the window, he saw nothing. Not even a shadow left by his brother’s friend.
Kurama came back with a big basin of cold water. He stopped at the door to see that Hiei was gone. "Shuu-kun? Where’s my friend?" asked Kurama. "He disappeared out the window," said Shuuichi. Kurama nearly fainted. He closed the door behind him and put the basin down. Hiei would not just flit away like that if Shuuichi didn’t do anything.
"Shuu-kun, did you say anything to him?" asked Kurama, holding both of Shuuichi’s shoulder. Shuuichi blinked. "I asked his name," he replied. Kurama’s looks demanded more than that.
"I know, but Shuuichi sighed. "Well, he said bad things about you. He said you were stupid. I was angry at him and I said he doesn’t deserve a friend like you. He said I’m right that he doesn’t deserve a friend like you and he jumped out the window," Shuuichi ended his little confession.
"You what?" Kurama exclaimed. All these time he had been suffering, trying hard to get Hiei and now he’s gone. All because of his stupid step brother. "Shuuichi! I can’t believe that you did this to me," Kurama slumped down on the bed. Can’t think clearly now.
Shuuichi blinked. "Niichan, I’m sorry. But you really don’t deserve a friend like that. He so rude and…," Shuuichi stopped as he saw Kurama looking at him fiercely. "I forbid you to tell bad things about Hiei," he said, softly but firm. "But niichan…," Shuuichi protested.
"Did you know that I spent so much time trying to get him? I nearly shouted in victory when he said he did love me… and now look what have you done!" Kurama gripped his step brother’s shoulder and shock it wildly.
Shuuichi bit his lip. His brother loved that boy. And it was all his fault. "Gomen niichan. I’ll find him and say I’m sorry," said Shuuichi, trying to soothe his brother. "You can’t find him if he doesn’t want to be found," said Kurama.
"I’ll go to his house then," said Shuuichi. "No use, Shuu-kun. Just, let it be. Can you leave me now and tell kaasan I’m not coming down for dinner? I need to be alone," said Kurama wearily. All his hard work down the drain.
Shuuichi nodded and walked out of Kurama’s room. He felt so bad that he had hurt his brother. He didn’t knew that Hiei was his brother’s lover… wait a minute. :… Could it be? My brother is head over heals for a guy? …: Shuuichi looked at the door to his brother’s room. He decided to keep it a secret from his step mother. He had already cause enough trouble for his brother to fail a test.
Kurama went to the window and whispered Hiei's name. "Hiei… please come back… I’m sorry," but there was no reply. He sighed, leaving the window open and lied on his bed.
Kuwabara woke up from a dream. He was sweating heavily. It wasn’t exactly a dream. It was a nightmare! He remembered it clearly.
:… He was kissing him. Another kiss was awarded to him by the other one on his ear. Hiei tasted sweet. Not even close to the usually irritating bastard that he is. Hiei was so warm and so… passionate. Kuwabara turned to find out who was kissing his ear just now. Koenma? …:
Kuwabara gulped. Hiei? Why is he having this nightmare about that bastard? :… Are you sure you want to call him a bastard? …: a voice inside him retorted. Kurama bit his lower lip. "Damn right he’s a bastard," he laughed. But then he still felt uneasy.
"Anyway, Kurama would kill me even if I had the slightest thoughts about wanting that koorime," he said aloud to himself. :… matte… wanting Hiei? …: that voice came back. "Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" he ordered himself.
Suddenly a shadow of black landed on his balcony. Kuwabara turned and sighed in grief. :… Why are you here? …: he nearly cried to himself. Hiei walked in and frowned at him. "Who are you fighting with?" he asked. Kuwabara stopped himself from saying ‘himself’. Or not, this particular irritating fire demon would probably laugh at him.
"No one. Why are you here?" asked Kuwabara, sitting crossed legged on his bed. "Well, Shuuichi chased me out," said Hiei nonchalantly. "Kurama did what?" asked Kuwabara. "Not Kurama, his brother," said Hiei. Kuwabara nodded. :… Poor Hiei …: a voice in him said. :… Shut up! He protested that voice …:
"So, why did you came here then?" asked Kuwabara. Hiei shrugged. "I was flitting nearby when I found you scolding someone. Thought I’d check it out," said Hiei.
Suddenly the phone rang. "Moshi-moshi," Kuwabara answered it, then he paused to wait for the other side’s answer. Then he widened his eyes. "Chotto matte," said Kuwabara and looked at Hiei, who was surprisingly still there. "It’s Kurama. He asked if I saw you. I said yes, you’re here. he wants to talk to you," said Kuwabara.
Hiei snorted. "Tell him I don’t deserve a friend like him," said Hiei. Kuwabara went back to the phone. "He said that he doesn’t deserve a friend like you…," then Kuwabara paused. "Oi Hiei. you’re making Kurama sad," said Kuwabara and saw Hiei massaging his wrist.
"Oi, what happened to his wrist?" asked Kuwabara, slightly whispering to the phone. "Ano, can you keep him there until I come over?" asked Kurama. "Yeah, sure. If I don’t get cooked up first," said Kuwabara. Kurama hung up.
Kuwabara looked at Hiei. "Ano Hiei, what’s wrong with your hand?" he asked. "None of your nosy business," snorted Hiei. Kuwabara sighed and went nearer to the fire demon. "Just show me," said Kuwabara.
Hiei sighed and showed his swollen wrist to Kuwabara. "God that’s big," he commented. "No it’s not," retorted Hiei.
They stayed in silence for nearly a whole 10 minutes. Suddenly Kuwabara’s door flung open. "Hiei?" asked Kurama. Hiei kept quiet. He was staring out the window. Kurama went near to Hiei and went down on his knees. "Please Hiei. Forgive my brother," he said.
"Did he do anything to me?" asked Hiei. Kurama held Hiei's hand and Hiei winced. Kurama had pressed on his swollen wrist. "Gomen," said Kurama. Kuwabara came with a bowl of cold water. "Here," he said.
Kurama made Hiei sit on the floor and he put the swollen part of had in the cold water. It looked so bad. "Make yourself at home. I’m going back to sleeping," said Kuwabara and yawned.
"Why did you came here?" asked Kurama, whispering to Hiei. Hiei looked at him with big almond eyes. "I heard him fighting," said Hiei. "With who?" asked Kurama. Hiei shrugged.
Kurama wrapped Hiei's wrist with a bandage. "Now, you have bandages on both side of your hand," said Kurama. Hiei snorted. "Come, let’s go home," said Kurama. "No, I’m not going to let you stay alone tonight," insisted Kurama.
"I don’t want to see your brother," said Hiei. "I’ll make him beg for your forgiveness," said Kurama joking. "I’m still not going," snorted Hiei.
This time, they followed the front door. Shuuichi opened the door as soon as Kurama twisted the knob. "Niichan, okaeri," he greeted them. He smiled as he saw his brother with Hiei. They went in and Shuuichi locked the door.
"Hiei-san, I’m sorry about just now," said Shuuichi. "Hn," was Hiei's reply. Shuuichi looked at his brother and Kurama nodded. Maybe it means it’s all ok. Shuuichi smiled. "Well, I’m sleepy," I want to go to bed," he said and went to his room.
"Still mad?" asked Kurama. Hiei snorted and looked away. Kurama pushed him to his bedroom and locked the door behind them.
