Karasu Came Back
Part One
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kurama was walking out of the school, behind him were a swarm of girls. He had just finished basketball practise and wanted to go home, alone. Kurama had been asked by the school basketball club to join them. Since he needed something for his co-curricular activity marks, he decided to give it a shot. As his height was quite tall, he was placed as the centre.
Kurama was surprised that most of the school girls had stayed back for the afternoon. He was certain that most of them weren’t just here because of anything else but him, as one of his school mate told him. That thought flattered him a little though.
He felt so happy that they won the first game against Sarayaki high. Unfortunately, Yuusuke nor Kuwabara were in the basketball team, or they’ll sure be meeting in the match.
He looked at the bag that slung to his body. It contains a smelly and wet pair of jersey. :… Ha.. ha.. better get this back and wash it first… : thought Kurama. He walked though the busy road and got stuck in the middle of a sea of people. He sighed heavily and decided to take the long way home. : … maybe it will be longer, but it might be quicker and less stuffier than this… : he pondered as he slid his way to a right turn, heading towards the park.
He took off the cap he was wearing and stuffed it in the bag with the other things he had in his bag. He ran his fingers through his hair a few times to make it right as usual, then continued to walk.
Suddenly he thought about Hiei. Kurama almost forgotten about Hiei. He didn’t even think about him once today. He shook his head and nagged at himself. : …bad Kurama… bad fox… must think about Hiei at least… all the time every day… hmm… wonder what he’s doing now?… : wondered Kurama silently in his head.
Kurama took a right turn and went through the back lane. Suddenly, chills were felt at the back of his neck. He had felt something, all his movements were stopped. He stood still and concentrated at the qi. It’s a youki. A very familiar youki. He slowly turned to his back and gasped.
Someone was trying to play ‘guess who’ with him. Kurama had his eyes closed from the back. :… These slender fingers… : thought Kurama. :… Karasu… :
"Karasu," uttered Kurama out loud. "What do you want?" he asked sternly, trying to keep his emotions in check. He couldn’t let Karasu know that he was frightened to death now. "Hi, missed me?" asked Karasu, almost playfully. Kurama was quiet, he was trying to figure out what did Karasu had in mind now.
"Not really," finally Kurama answered. "Hah!" Karasu let go of Kurama’s eyes and lowered his hands down to Kurama’s waist. Pulling him closer, he closed the space between them. Kurama was awfully frightened of him now, Karasu could just charge up Kurama’s body now and blew him off without anyone noticing him gone. Well, not after a few days though.
Kurama was shaking from top to bottom and Karasu felt it. "Relax Kurama. I came to see you," he said, leaning his head on Kurama’s hair. then he sniffed Kurama’s hair. "Emm… your hair still have the wild rose scent even though you had been exercising," commented Karasu. :… you creep …: cursed Kurama silently. "Karasu, please let go of me," pleaded Kurama. "Oh, but I miss you," said Karasu, but he let go of Kurama just as he finished his sentence.
Kurama looked at Karasu from top to bottom. His hair was still black, so he wasn’t going to use serious powers against Kurama. :… what is he up to? …: pondered Kurama. Those crystalline eyes were so tranquillising that Karasu almost fell right there, soft like melted butter. "Well, I think I’m over with missing you already. I’ll catch you later when I miss you again, lover…," with that, Karasu disappeared. :… Lover? What did he meant by that? …:
Kurama looked around, he was now standing alone on the back lane. He felt cold suddenly, he felt frightened, he felt… he needed to run home… he needed a place to think, to get himself straight again.
Part Two
He burst in and ran into his room. Thank god Shiori wasn’t at home. Kurama shut the door to his room and left his bag that contains smelly clothes on the floor. Those plans he had for those bundle of smelly damp clothes will just have to wait. He then ran up to his bed and slumped down on it, closing his face with the pillow.
Suddenly the window was slid up, then down again with a loud shutting noise. Kurama closed his eyes tighter, he was afraid that it could be Karasu. :… doozo Kami-sama… please don’t let it be Karasu, don’t let it be Karasu …: he prayed like a little kid.
Hiei placed his cloak on the chair and looked at Kurama who was closing his face with the pillow. :… Isn’t he happy to see me? …: thought Hiei. He studied Kurama’s body once again. Kurama had just came back from school and didn’t even pulled out his socks and shoes yet. Still in complete school uniform. Suddenly he realised something new. Kurama was shaking like a rattle snake. Hiei raised a thin eye-brow.
"Kurama?" Hiei called, almost a whisper. Kurama stopped praying. He thought he heard Hiei’s voice. He peeped from under the pillow. It really was Hiei. His Hiei, not Karasu.
Kurama threw off the pillow and hugged Hiei tight, sinking into Hiei’s small and compact chest. He hugged Hiei hard. Hiei blinked a few times. Suddenly he pushed Kurama away. Kurama looked at Hiei with watery eyes, hurt. He didn’t expect Hiei to push away at times like this, at times that he was so scared. Scared to death, as if he was going to die. :… I am going to die if Karasu… no… don’t think about it…: Kurama scolded himself. With that, he leaned on the wall, head down, knees up to his chest, arms around it covering his face.
He continued to sob. Alone. Alone, he’s always alone. He had never thought about that, he suddenly realised that he was always alone when it comes to love. Of course girls swarm over him like bees but the only true love he wanted all his life was so cold and far away. Of course Hiei always comes to see him. But was that all? :… Yes, that’s all …: Kurama answered silently.
Kurama had always showed his love to Hiei. But Hiei seemed so distant and he actually looked like he didn’t have feelings. He looks as if he only has heart for fighting and to get stronger. Kurama had always treated Hiei after he uses his Kokuryuuha, made sure that he was alright and made sure nothing else disturbs him when he was sleeping. But did Hiei do anything to repay that? Of course not, Kurama wasn’t even sure that Hiei appreciated what he had done to him. What more? Hiei always called him ‘Stupid Kitsune’ even though Kurama always thought that Hiei was just joking, but now he was beginning to think that Hiei did meant what he said.
That thought made him want to cry harder. Harder than ever. He suddenly hated this life, hated the body of Shuuichi Minamino. This very human body who has such feelings. That Youko Kurama would not have learnt what was love, he only had a cold heart. Now, he was Shuuichi Minamino. His youko self would also learn the true meaning of love and he would not forget how it was. How it felt like. :… No …: he suddenly scolded himself mentally. Hating this body would also mean that he was hating Shiori. :… No, I love that woman… nothing in the world would make me hate her, nothing …: Kurama assured himself. Even though she taught him about love, he also taught him about life. And how meaningful this life could be.
Hiei felt guilty, he shouldn’t have pushed Kurama away. He should have just let him borrow his chest and cry on it. He didn’t knew what to do, so he took his cloak and walked towards the window. He gave Kurama a last glance. :… still crying …: he said silently. Just as he stepped on the window sill, a Kurama shouted at him.
"Go! Go you little rotten son of a…," he paused, stopping himself from continuing the next word. Hiei was stunned, he turned back and look at Kurama. He gave Kurama a weird stare. Kurama had never been mad at him before. "Go! I would never want to see you again!" Kurama shouted and walked out of the room, shutting the door behind it. Hiei stared at The door wide-eyed, his mouth was a bit hanging. Quite puzzled.
Hiei gave a snort. "Kitsune no baka," he cursed and jumped out of the window. He jumped from roof to roof with a purpose this time, he was going to talk to someone that he could talk to. The only one beside Kurama.
Part Three
Kurama wanted to get out of the house. He wanted to run away, wanted time to think. Then suddenly the image of Karasu came into his mind. :… Karasu… no, I can’t go out there… he could find me easily out there …: Kurama warned himself. So, he decided to cook. Shiori would be back sometime soon. :… At least cooking could release your mind from tension Kurama …: he told himself.
Yukina hummed softly. The fat robins were chirping happily and jabbing lightly on Yukina’s palm. Yukina smiled. "You little birds… Maybe, I would wish I want to be like you last time… but now, I had found my brother… I think I like what I am now better," she said to the bird and chuckled softly at a robin who accidentally fell as a fatter one pushed it off her hand.
Yukina heard footsteps, light footstep. No one else would have a soft and graceful footsteps other than his one and only beloved brother. "Hiei-oniisan!" she exclaimed happily as she turned around. The birds scattered all around. Hiei gave a her a microscopic smile. His little smile did not blend well with his expressions. Those dull worried expressions.
"Hiei-san? What’s wrong?" she asked, brushing her hands on her blue kimono trotting over to Hiei. Hiei looked down on the ground. He had checked the whole place, not a single person was at the temple except Yukina. Maybe he could talk to her without any interruption.
"I… I…," it seems so hard for Hiei to tell Yukina. He wasn’t really the type who likes to tell people his problems. Kurama himself would have to do a ‘lot’ of stuffs in order to dig out a tiny bit of self information from Hiei.
Yukina put a hand on her brother’s shoulder and leaded him to the bench nearby. She could see that her brother was really depressed with a big problem as the ‘normal’ Hiei would just push her away, gently and say that he’s alright.
"Come, tell it to me. Maybe I could be at any help," she coaxed her brother. Hiei looked at Yukina. Only Kurama would coax him like that. Well, maybe sometimes Kurama’s coax would be over the line but his coaxing were sure divine.
"Can you promise not to tell anyone? Especially that baka Kuwabara! Not even Yuusuke, Ok?" Hiei asked her assurance. Not that he didn’t trust his sister, but he just wanted assurance. Yukina smiled and nodded.
"I went to Kurama’s place before I came here," said Hiei, his eyes were pinned to the ground. He didn’t dare to look at his sister’s fair red eyes. "Em…," said Yukina, giving encouragement so that Hiei continued. "Well, he was covering his face when I got there," Hiei said. Yukina raised a brow. "I thought something was wrong so I called his name," said Hiei, then he stopped.
"Doozo… continue," she said. Hiei took a deep breath. "Well, he suddenly put his arms around me, tightly… seems that he was crying," told Hiei. Yukina thought for a while as Hiei took his little break. "Ah! It’s called a hug," said Yukina. Hiei shot his eyes at Yukina. "Who taught you that?" he demanded, eyes were burning with fire. Yukina let out a chuckle. "Kuwabara-kun…," then Yukina was cut off by Hiei. His eyes went flying open and he went berserk. "What!!? What did he do to you?!" demanded Hiei harshly, gritting his row of sharp little teeth. Yukina wriggled her fingers. "Shimpai suru na oniisan, I asked him that day when Keiko and Yuusuke were hugging. He didn’t do anything to me," explained Yukina. Hiei looked like he was going to burst and blow off Kuwabara’s head also. Hiei snorted and leaned on the bench. He let out a heavy sigh.
"Well?" asked Yukina, an indirect request for Hiei to resume his little tale. "Umm… well… I pushed him away… a bit hard a think," confessed Hiei. Yukina widened her eyes at her brother. Hiei was still having his eyes glued to the ground. "Nani? Why did you do that oniisan?" asked Yukina. Hiei shrugged. "What was his reactions?" asked Yukina. Hiei curled his lips. "He leaned on the wall with his legs up his chest, head down, and covered them with his arms, wrapped around his legs," told Hiei.
"Hah!" exclaimed Yukina a little. "Oniisan, you’re being too hard on Kurama-san," said Yukina. Hiei was silent. Yukina turned the subject. "Well, do you know why was he crying in the first place?" asked Yukina. Hiei shook his head. "Hmm… why… there must be something… Hiei-san?" called Yukina. Hiei looked up at is sister. He cocked his head a little. "I think you should do something now," she told Hiei. "Nani?" asked Hiei. Yukina looked directly into Hiei’s eyes. "Go to him and told him you’re sorry," she suggested. "No!" exclaimed Hiei. "Why?" wondered Yukina out loud. "He don’t want to see me," said Hiei softly. "Nani?" asked Yukina, she leaned closer as she didn’t quite hear what Hiei was saying. "Before he walked out of the room, he said that he don’t to see me again," uttered Hiei a little louder.
"Oniisan, what do you think about Kurama-san?" asked Yukina. "Em?" Hiei didn’t understand her question. "What do you feel about Kurama-san? Do you love him?" asked Yukina. Hiei eyed her carefully. "Why?" asked Hiei. Yukina smiled. "Well, he loves you," she answered. "No he don’t," denied Hiei. "How do you know?" asked Yukina. "He didn’t told me that he loved me. He just told me and everyone around us that we’re just good friends. So what can I do?" asked Hiei. "Well, he told me that he likes you," said Yukina. "Well, maybe he is the only one who likes me. everyone here practically hates me, especially that baka, Kuwabara," snorted Hiei. "We all like you, I can assure you that Kuwabara-san doesn’t hate you… he was just acting… big," said Yukina. Hiei snorted "Ok then, everyone likes me, nothing big ne?" asked Hiei.
Yukina sighed. "Oniisan, he likes you in another way. Don’t you understand that?" asked Yukina. "Wakarimasu," said Hiei softly. "And do you?" asked Yukina. Hiei was silent. "Please oniisan, let me know," pleaded Yukina. "Ok, I do! But what’s the use, he won’t want to see me ever again," said Hiei, remembering those words in his head. Those painful words.
Yukina frowned. "You have to try," said Yukina. Hiei shook his head. "No," he insisted. Yukina let out a sigh. She stood up. She closed her eyes and focused on Kurama’s qi. Kurama is still at home. She reached for Hiei’s little hand, a little larger than her soft delicate ones. But still smooth and tough though.
Hiei looked up at her. "Come with me please," she told Hiei. "Where are we going?" asked Hiei. "To see Kurama-san," answered Yukina. Hiei was silent. Yukina left a note to Genkai and told her that she would be back later that day.
"I still think that this is a bad idea," mumbled Hiei. "Shimpai suru na, oniisan. Shinjiru ga kudasai," said Yukina, giving her brother a wink. Hiei sighed and followed her. She must follow the way that past through the park. Everyone was looking at the little turquoise-coloured hair girl in kimono, walking in front at boy in black, hand in hand. Hiei could see himself blushing with every stare he get from people around him.
When they reached Kurama’s home, Yukina smiled at her brother. "We’re here," she said. "I can see that," said Hiei. He looked around as he seldom used the front door as an entrance. Yukina called from outside. "Kurama-san! Kurama-san! Gomen kudasai!?" she shouted from outside. Hiei poked her shoulder. "There’s something in ningen-kai called a doorbell," said Hiei as he pointed at a button with a little bell carved on it. Yukina smiled sweetly. "Gomen ne," she apologised, but as she wanted to press the button, Kurama shouted from inside. "Coming!"
Yukina smiled. "Ready?" she asked. Hiei sighed and looked away.
Kurama opened the door. "Ah! Yukina-chan! Ohairi, ohairi," he made way. Yukina smiled sweetly and bowed. Kurama bowed back. "We came here to see you," said Yukina. "Ah, yoshi," said Kurama smiling back at the pretty girl, but his smile disappeared when the corner of Hiei’s eyes met his. Hiei was having his back on Kurama.
"Come Hiei," she pulled her brother too. Hiei was practically dragged in by Yukina. When they reached inside, Yuusuke and Kuwabara was also there. "AHHH!!! YUKINA-CHAN!!!" exclaimed Kuwabara as he jumped off the sofa and headed towards Yukina, but he met with Hiei’s fierce glare instead. Hiei was practically snarling at him. "Heh! I was greeting Yukina-chan, not you!" snorted Kuwabara. "Am I?" continued Kuwabara and gave his sweetest (or ugliest) smile he could produce from his oversized mouth, blinking his eyes violently. "Em? Is there something wrong with your eyes-Kuwabara-san? I could check it for you," suggested Kuwabara. "Ah, no… nothing’s wrong," he told her with dreamy eyes. Yuusuke was practically holding back his laughs. Kurama was smiling wearily.
Part Four
"Kuwabara-san?" called Yukina. "Yes darling, I mean Yukina-chan?" Kuwabara changed his words as Hiei looked like he was about to explode. "Would you want to go for a walk? With me?" asked Yukina. "AHHH!!! Of course! Of course!" agreed Kuwabara instantly and went straight to the door. "Urameshi-san, can you join us too?" asked Yukina. Yuusuke looked into Yukina’s eyes and nodded. something in that look want’s him to be with them. As Yukina and Yuusuke went to the door, Hiei trotted behind them. Yukina turned. "Iie oniisan, you stay here," she said and closed the door.
Hiei was left staring at the door with Kurama behind him across the room. Silence was in the air for a couple of minutes, neither moved a muscle. Kurama wanted to apologise for what he said just now but he decided to wait. He was the one who has patience here and Hiei was the one who pushed him in the first place. He could live without Hiei. :… NO! I can’t live without Hiei! …: his inner voice shouted. Yes, he can’t live without Hiei.
Hiei lost his patience and turned around. Kurama’s eyes were set directly on his. Hiei walked closer. "Can I ask you one question?" Hiei asked as he walked slowly towards the fox spirit. Kurama nodded once. "Do you really mean it when you said you don’t want to see me again?" asked Hiei, still walking slowly towards Kurama. Kurama shook his head. "No Hiei, No…," by the time Kurama finished that sentence, Hiei was already in front of him, only an inch apart.
Hiei wrapped his arms around Kurama and threw his face flat on Kurama’s chest. "Gomen ne," he whispered softly. Kurama returned the hug and wrapped his hands around his little companion.
Kurama looked at the couch to the right of them and pushed Hiei onto it. He was careful not to crush Hiei with his weight. "Hiei…," he whispered softly. "Nani?" asked Hiei, underneath Kurama. Eyes of emerald and ruby were locked together. "I was sorry I said that to you," he uttered. "Hn," answered Hiei. Kurama hated to when Hiei did that, he can’t get a straight point from that little snort sound.
"Hiei, please… don’t just snort like that. Say something else after that," said Kurama. "Ok, anyway… what made you cry today?" asked Hiei. Kurama was rubbing his nose against Hiei’s. "Em? Oh… it was about Karasu," said Kurama. "Karasu?" echoed Hiei, puzzled. Kurama nodded, but still his nose was dancing against Hiei’s little button one. "Well, I was so afraid of him that I cried. He would certainly find me again," said Kurama, straightening himself. Loosing the appetite after Hiei brought up the Karasu topic.
Kurama shrugged. "He was hugging me tight just now," continued Kurama. Hiei raised an eye-brow. "I was afraid to fight. He might blow me to bits," answered Kurama as he saw the puzzled look in Hiei’s eyes. "What did he do to you after that?" asked Hiei. "Nothing actually, apart from calling me his lover and wanted to find me again," said Kurama and curled his legs. "That’s what frightens me most," he uttered, looking at the floor. Hiei stared at Kurama. He didn’t know what to do, he was mad and jealous that someone else was hugging Kurama and Kurama let it. Normally, he would suggest to himself to go away, but…
"I’m afraid Hiei. I’m afraid that if I fight him, he’ll kill me," said Kurama. Hiei was still looking at him with baleful eyes. "Hiei, please, don’t look at me like that! don’t be mad at me," Kurama pleaded. "What do you want me to do then? Go and find Karasu and beat the ass out of him?" snapped Hiei. Kurama was taken aback. Once again, his healed heart was torn to pieces.
Suddenly Hiei realised that he was hurting the kitsune again. "Gomen. I was mad at Karasu, not you," with that, he leaned forward and put his head flat against Kurama’s chest, his hands wrapped around Kurama’s middle. A soothing sensation ran up through Kurama’s spine.
"Hiei?" called Kurama. "What?"
"Can you stay over here tonight?" he asked.
"Hn,"
Kurama was too overjoyed to complain about Hiei’s little snorting sound. He tightened his hug and kissed Hiei’s forehead. "You little beautiful koorime," he muttered.
"What was that all about?" asked Yuusuke. "Well, just settling some problem between oniisan and Kurama-san," said Yukina. "Huh! That sp…," Kuwabara was cut off by Yuusuke’s elbow buried deep in his stomach. "Baka!" he cursed Yuusuke.
Part Five
Karasu was watching… watching close. He was eyeing Kurama and Hiei.
"Give it back to me," said Kurama. "No," Hiei put Kurama’s book underneath his backside, sitting comfortably on it. "Hiei… doozo," Kurama pleaded. Hiei curled his hands behind his head and leaned against the tree. Kurama got on all four and pushed Hiei on the ground. "Give me back my book," he demanded. Hiei pouted, letting out his little tongue. Kurama smirked and closed the space between their mouth.
"Now… muy… mmm… bwook…," said Kurama between their kiss. Hiei broke their kiss when he realised they were not alone, he pushed Kurama a bit.
"My, my… what do we have here?" asked a familiar voice. Kurama’s eye widened in fear and he turned to assure that it was his fear that’s talking behind him.
"Karasu…," Kurama managed to let out a sound. Hiei eyed Karasu balefully. "What do we have here? The little fire demon I see… how dare you take my lover away?" asked Karasu. Hiei snorted and looked away, he uttered something. "What is it? I can’t hear you," asked Karasu. "I said, Kurama won’t want a dirty crow like you," said Hiei louder, getting on his feet.
"Get yourself another lover. I’m Kurama’s and he’s mine," said Hiei, gritting his sharp teeth. Karasu looked at Hiei with mild interest. "Sou desu ka? Well then, what if I don’t want to?" asked Karasu. Hiei snorted. He raised up his right arm, fire began dancing around it. "My friend here could explain it better to you then," said Hiei, smirking.
Karasu dug his hands deeper into his pockets. He took out a hand and brushed his long, straight, slick dark hair backwards. "Kh! I don’t want to meet your ugly friend," he snapped, quite gently at Hiei. Kurama stared at Karasu, he met Kurama’s gaze and smiled. Almost sweetly.
Kurama blinked. He looked away, he felt himself blushing. Hiei eyed Kurama, anger raising inside him. "Fine! Go! I’m leaving," snorted Hiei angrily. "No, Hiei! Don’t!" exclaimed Kurama.
Hiei walked on, Kurama got on his feet and ran after him. He managed to catch the koorime by wrapping his arms tightly around his waist, he dropped his knees on to the ground. Hiei stopped.
Karasu came closer. "Tsk-tsk," Karasu shook his head. "What a pity, It looks like he doesn’t want you already Kurama," said Karasu, chuckling softly. "No! I don’t care if he doesn’t want me! I love him!" shouted Kurama, sinking his face deep inside Hiei’s back.
Karasu snorted. "Well, I can wait. I will come back, and that’s for sure," threatened Karasu and disappeared away.
Hiei was still and so was Kurama, he was still having his arms wrapped around Hiei, in the middle of the meadow.
"Kurama?" called Hiei.
"Em?"
"Let go,"
"No,"
Hiei turned inside Kurama’s embrace. Kurama was now facing with Hiei’s abdomen, just underneath Hiei’s gut. Hiei too dropped on his knees. "Get up kitsune. You have to go home," said Hiei, and got out of Kurama’s arms easily. He took the book he was hiding from Kurama and gave it to him. Kurama eyed him solemnly.
"Go," insisted Hiei. "But…," Kurama protested. "Just go," with that Hiei disappeared to nowhere. Kurama was left with the book in his hand.
Part Six
Kurama went into his room after dinner. His mother and father was out for the weekend and he was left alone. Hiei had disappeared himself for almost a week now. Their last mission for Koenma also had excluded Hiei. Koenma gave an excuse that Hiei wasn’t needed in that mission.
Kurama stared out the window and sighed. It was a cool night, stars were dancing in the skies, the moon was shining brightly… but something was wrong. Kurama could feel that something is wrong. He closed the window and shut it.
A breeze of swift cold air crawled in. Kurama eyed his room carefully. Had something managed to slip in while he was shutting the window. His emerald eyes ran across the room and spotted something between the shadows. His jaw dropped.
"We meet again," said the voice in the shadow. "Karasu, why are you here?" asked Kurama, trying to hide his fear. "Why? Well… because I felt like I miss you again," he answered.
"Miss me?" asked Kurama. Karasu nodded. Suddenly Karasu was behind Kurama. He had his slender fingers around Kurama’s neck. Sliding it up and down, gently. "It seems like the little koorime hadn’t came back," noted Karasu. Kurama sighed.
Karasu smiled. He moved his hands to unbutton Kurama’s shirt. One by one, he took his time. He knew that Kurama was too sad to take control of his own. Now he could do whatever he liked. Kurama’s white shirt dropped to the floor, revealing a compact torso. Karasu was having trouble stopping himself from biting Kurama’s smooth neck. :… Kuso …: he cursed inwardly.
"Karasu…," called Kurama.
"What?"
"Please," pleaded Kurama.
"Please what?"
"Please don’t do this to me. I… I… Karasu… please, let go of me. I can’t do this," said Kurama. "What? You want to tell me that you’re straight? It won’t work," said Karasu. "No, but you must understand. I can only…," Karasu stopped his fingers. "What? Are you still fussing about that little brat?" asked Karasu.
"He’s not a brat. I liked him from the first time I set my eyes on him. Even though the first time we met, he was trying to kill me," said Kurama. Karasu placed his chin on Kurama’s shoulder, he sighed. "So, you are saying that what ever I do, I can’t win you?" asked Karasu. "I’m afraid so," answered Kurama softly.
Karasu back away a few feet. He took Kurama’s shirt which was on the floor and shoved it at Kurama. "Wear this back, he might come back," said Karasu. He turned and started his way to the window. "Karasu?" called Kurama. Karasu stopped, turned around and raised an eye brow. "Arigatou," uttered Kurama. Karasu gave him a weary smile and opened the window. "Maybe some day we’ll meet again?" asked Karasu. Kurama shrugged and smiled. "Maybe," he answered.
Yukina opened the door to her room and found her brother still sleeping. He had been like this for a few days now. :… No a week …: she corrected herself. She walked over with a tray. A piece of damp cloth, a glass of water a bowl of rice, some vegetables and a bowl of soup was on it.
Yukina placed the tray beside her. "Oniisan," she called softly. Hiei groaned and shot open his eyes. He relaxed when he saw his sister in front of him. Yukina flashed him her sweetest smile. "Here, I brought these for you. I cooked it myself. So if it doesn’t taste nice, don’t be mad," she grinned sweetly.
Hiei let out a little smile and started on the soup. His sense of taste seems to be working so he gulped down everything.
Suddenly there was a knock on the door. Hiei looked up from his bowl of rice and saw a tall figure behind the door. "Ohairi!" Yukina shouted from inside. Kurama slid open the door and smiled. "Hi," he greeted them. "Ah, Kurama-san…," said Yukina. Hiei was still staring at Kurama behind the bowl of rice. Yukina looked at them and decided to leave them alone. "I got to go. I have to run some errands for Genkai-san," with that she closed the door.
Hiei was still stuffing food, slowly. Kurama looked at Hiei and sat in front of him. "Hiei?" he called. Hiei stopped eating and looked at Kurama, he put down his bowl of rice. Kurama smiled at Hiei, he have rice bits on his face.
Kurama resisted the urge to go up to him and kiss him. Instead, he raised his hand and brushed off the rice bits off Hiei’s face gently. "I miss you," he uttered. Hiei snorted and looked away. Kurama shifted closer. He took Hiei’s hand. "I got rid of him," said Kurama. Hiei was still in no interest to look at Kurama.
"Come on Hiei," coaxed Kurama. "You talk too much. I guessed that’s why he left," commented Hiei. "Maybe, maybe not. But now were back together, ain’t it great?" asked Kurama, hoping to get something out of that poker faced demon.
Hiei sighed. He pushed away the bowl and crawled nearer towards Kurama, he placed his head on his neck between that luxurious flair of read strands. He wrapped his arms around Kurama and smiled. "Hai," he said softly.
