Hello, minna-san! Well, consider this as another belated New Year gift.^^;; It is yaoi and it doesn't fit in any specific timeline, but I guess it could be included in my own timeline before fic Innocence happens.^^;; (Gini-chan, Utena-chan, neechan and others who actually read some parts already, you know what I'm talking about, ne? Or am I just talking by myself? O.o;;;) Anyway please enjoy it and I would love to hear what you guys think. I am grateful for all the comments on my other fics. Arigato gozaimasu!

[Lying beside you here in the dark]
Two figures lay intertwined on a deserted beach, holding each other tightly as if they were afraid to lose this warmth.
[Feeling your heart beat with mine]
The smaller of the two opened his eyes. His eyes, bright red like a precious ruby, and they held a tenderness that belied his usual harshness as they gazed upon the one who was holding him close. The only thing he felt was the strong, continuous heartbeat of the other that sang of the eternal song of life.
[Softly you whisper]
"Umm… Hiei? Stay with me little longer, ne?" Kurama opened his emerald eyes, but he closed them again as he was reassured by the sight of his beloved, safely tucked within his embrace.
[You're so sincere]
"I'll stay with you… forever." Hiei closed his own eyes, feeling so secure and… complete in the warm embrace of his lover, and he sincerely prayed that he would never have to leave him.
[How could our love be so blind]
A gentle summer breeze caressed the two lone figures with her cool fingers, promising them this day will be perfect… perfect just for them. It was her gift for these two who had finally found the missing pieces of their souls after so long.
[We sailed on together
We drifted apart]
After a pleasant long dream… a dream full of promises and love, they opened their eyes. They smiled, even Hiei, as they admired each other, just content that their dream would not end as long as they had each other. They wouldn't be lonely ever again because… now they had each other to fill what they lacked before.
[And here you are by my side]
Kurama just held onto Hiei, sharing another's warmth that he has been longing for all his life. Hiei, for once, didn't mind being cuddled. He was content with just the mere presence of his lover.
[So now I come to you with open arms
Nothing to hide]
'How foolish was I to reject him before? What was I afraid of?' Fear of another abandonment… one part of me readily gives the answer and I know it is true. But he has proven time and time again that he would never reject me and I believe him. For the first time in my life I want to trust someone other than myself entirely, without holding back anything. I just want to give him everything as he has done for me because this time it is not the mere act of giving. I'm not losing anything by giving because he is mine just as I am his.
[Believe what I say
So here I am with open arms]
"Kurama? Do you believe in me?" He nods in assent. I do not need to elaborate on my question. He understands me like no one can. He is like the earth that accepts rain without question, without a word. He comforts and heals when I kill and wound another. But he accepted me, this Forbidden Child. He healed my wounded heart until it was whole again, until it was able to love again….

And now I love him. I bound myself to him because I no longer wish to experience the pain of being apart from him. He is everything that I hold dear, everything I love. Through this binding, I have finally become free….
And without him, even Heaven would be meaningless….

Loneliness has always accompanied them. Like a shadow it followed them everywhere. Ordinary shadow would disappear at nightfall only to be replaced by bitter Loneliness that threatened to break their souls in half. In daylight they would forget, but when the moon appears again, they would again be haunted by a nightmare of being alone.

Nobody was there to wake them from their endless nightmare. Nobody was there to care for their wounded heart… until they finally found each other.

They denied… continued to deny their heart until pain was too much to bear. Even their fear of rejection couldn't hold off their desperate need for release.

And now they understood how meaningless their effort to ignore their hearts was. They were living beings who were in need of love, care like any other. So why deny when everything was right in front of you, also in need as well?
One who would continue to deny one's heart is truly a fool. A fool who doesn't know what it means to truly live….

Nothing to hide]
"Do you believe in me?" He asks. I nod in return. I believe in my little fire youkai. He is still unsure of himself, I know that, but he doesn't see what I see. Whenever I look at his beautiful ruby eyes, I see a glimpse of his soul.

So here I am with open arms]
Bright and fierce yet so gentle and innocent like a child's. It burns there in an eternal fire and it draws me like nothing can. I want to embrace that flame until I, myself, would become that flame….
