[Ayeka Jurai][Aeka]We first meet Ayeka in episode #2, entitled 'Here Comes Ayeka!' (Gee, big surprise there!)
She came to Earth in search of her half brother, Yosho, who presumably fell there in heated pursuit of the space pirate, Ryouko. After he came back, Ayeka and he were gonna' get married, but he never did come back.
"On earth, it may seem odd to marry your brother; but on Jurai it is not. Even though my parents arranged it, I was happy about it. Just knowing that I might not be able to share these feelings with my brother- I- I- I don't know what to do! *sob* *sob*"
[Aeka & Sasami's mother, Misaki]Even though I sometimes might write things that make you think I don't like Ayeka, I really do like her, especially as a child. She's vein and sometimes rude and nasty, especially in Tenchi OVA 3, but I still feel sorry for her (even though she didn't exactly lose her brother, but he did... you know...) I think I'd be just as sad as her if I lost St. LoOnEy Up The Cream Bun and Jam (that's my brother's handle, doncha' know) even though I'm not going to marry him. (That would be strange. Strange and frightening. He's way too yucky.) Even though she can be a little testy, she's still a good and nice person, so I still kinda' like her.
Anyway, she came to earth to look for Yosho, only to find Ryouko, live and well and newly resurrected.
Ayeka is the crown princess of the Jurai royal family, is extremely vein, very powerful, and like all of the girls, is in love with Tenchi. In her own words "As a princess I posses beauty, modesty, and LOTS OF POWER!"
She's the big sister of Sasami (Jeeze, they really don't look a thing like each other, do they?
[aeka]Ryouko and she are ALWAYS fighting over Tenchi and anything else that can be fought about; and are always competing against each other in a whole manner of contests; including a swimsuit contest (TV series episode #18, No Need for Swimsuits!) "If it means a chance of beating Ryouko I have no qualms with showing off my smooth skin in public." "Yeah, right Ayeka! Now we'll find out who the real winner is!"
"HeeheeheeHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Of course, they aren't to happy when neither of them win... And Ryouko steals all the prize money... But that's another story.
Apparently their rivalry went back pretty far on the planet Jurai, they've been at each other's throats since childhood. I'm not quite sure just how it all started, you tell me. There [Azaka]have been so many different stories told by each of them about it that it just depends on your opinion of which you think is true and which is mishmash. "WHAT??? YOU DARE CALL MY STORY A MISHMASH!!??" Oh yeah. Did I mention her highness has a slight tendency to overreact? (Hmm...)
Her two guardians (or logs) Azaka and[Kamidake] Kamidake, well, I'm afraid I can't tell you the story behind them, it'll just wreck the surprise for you. Still, they're relatively funny and they get a few bit parts now and then (Like hanging up diapers in OVA #8...) but for the most part they kinda just hang around by the gates at tenchi's house.
Ayeka thinks she's very beautiful and very modest and very wonderful, but it sounds to me like she's very vein.
But, I suppose she's a little entitled to her pride, after all, if you've heard how she sings... I think you can agree she should go with what she's best at, bragging and being lovely ('cause a rock star she ain't.)
She's had a lot of bad things happen in her life, like getting engaged and then having her fiancee go off on some damn camping trip and never come back, but her life's not quite as bad as she makes it out to be.
Naturally, in the TV series who she is is a little different, but everybody is in it. In it she never even had a fiancee. But, well, there you go.
I certainly wouldn't have expected someone as open and friendly (and fruity) as Misaki to have born someone like Ayeka who's generally pretty serious. My goodness, her mom sure is fruity, isn't she? And she has this real 'touch my little girl and die' karma thing goin' on. I like it. ~_~
As for the movies, in the second movie she's pretty much the OVA Aeka, in the first one she's the TV Aeka. She and Ryouko still fight and whatnot, but in Tenchi Muyo in Love she befriends Tenchi's mother and it's said they even snuck off to talk about stuff together for a while one day, like what sorts of boys they like. ~_~ Isn't that nice?
All in all, what Aeka's like is mostly just your opinion.
