				THE CHALLENGE
A mailman carries a box up to the tendo residence. It has air holes and
is addressed to Ranma. Ranma opens the box and discovers an batered
P-Chan and a letter.
*************************************************************************
	To Mr. Ranma

I've heard about your fighting skill from a mutual aquantence of ours.
I will be in town the day after you recieve this Package. I challenge
you to a fight after school at your high school. I will bring three
bottles of magic water that will change people into things without the
pesky problem of changing back with hot water. If you win you get the
one for changing into a man, if you don't show I will use bunny water
on your non changing fiances. Then we must have another fight for the
water for changing creatures to women.

					sincerly yours Katari Soroku
**************************************************************************
After reading the letter Ranma takes P-Chan to his room and takes a
kettle of hot water along. He layes P-Chan on the bed and puors the water
over him.
Ranma: What happened Ryoga?
Ryoga: I was on my way to train in the mountains of japan and paused in a
shop called "The Shop of Mystic Articals of Hong Kong China" to ask
directions.
Ranma: Where did you start from?
Ryoga: Okinawa.
Ranma: .............!?
Ranma: What happened after you entered the shop?
Ryoga: I told the owner about my training trip and he started asking me
about my technices and then told me that he was also a martial artist
training in the technices of the cape. He then offered me a challenge
saying that he would offer one of his mystic articles as the prize if I
decided on it before the fight. I told him of our problem and of you.
Ranma: How did your fight go with Katari Soroku?
Ryoga: He defeated me easily. he used my moves against me even capturing
and throwing my Shishi Hokoudon back at me.
Ranme: Hmm....how did he use your other moves against you?
Ryoga: He wraped hir cape arouned whatever I used to attack him with and
used the force of the attacks to throw me to the ground or into walls.
Ranma: Thanks Ryoga.
Ranma pours a glass of water over Ryoga and goes to akane giving him to
her as way of thanks to Ryoga.

				THE NEXT DAY
Katari: Greetings Ranma. Are you ready to fight?
Ranma: Bring it on Katari.
Katari: First we agree on what I get if I win.
Ranma: No need for that, because you won't be winnig.
Katari: If we do not decide on it now I reserve the right to ask any
one thing of you upon my victory.
Ranma: Agreed. Just have the water ready for when I win because I want
this curse gone as soon as posible.

Ranma does a flying kick at Katari. Katari grabs the edge of his cloak
and does a clockwise mation with his cape, wrapping it around Ranma's
leg. He then swings Ranma to the side and into the ground. Ranma jumps to
his feet and tries his Katsu Tenshin Ameraguriken. Katari does the same
block as before wraping Ranma's hands together and pulling him forward
into a gut kick knocking ranma's breath out. Katari follows up by
twisting his cape into a cord and putting it around Ranma's neck. He
starts spining around until Ranma's feet leave the ground. he then
launches Ranma into a tree. Ranma strugles to his feet and stands
swayingremembering Ryoga's warning about Katari returning chi blasts.
He realizes his last chance is the Hiryu Shoten Ha. He says in a
scornful voice

Ranma: Is that all you've got. If you think it's that easy to defeat
me then you are sadly mistaken. Comon give it all you've got, it won't
be enough.
Katari: empty threats come from empty minds.

Sudenly from the side where people are wathching a bicycle is heard
then a shout.

Voice: Ranma, I help!

Then a splash of water is heard. We then see a cat land on ranma's head.

Ranma: Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

Ranma screams while running around until Katari trips him. Ranma then
hisssing throws the cat from his head and leaps at Katari making a
clawing motion. Katari is suprised to see claw marks appear in his cloak.
As Ranma comes in for another swip Katari shouts.

Katari: Hishippuu Kougeki.

and starts whipping his cape coner in horizontal figure eights, slahing
Ranma in the face four times while scooting back. Ranma mises his swip
and jumps to the side yowling. He runs up a tree then jumps straight at
Katari. Katari flips his cape off his back and uses it to catch and wrap
up ranma. He than spins around and smashes Ranma into the tree again. He
does this two mor times then releases Ranma. Katari prepares to finish
Ranma (make sure he's knocked out) Akane yells stop it and uses mallet
sama on Katari. She then picks up Ranma and takes him to Dr. Tofu. A half
hour later Katari comes too, walkes to his half shreded cape, and looks
mournfully at it.
