Hurricane Victims Book Drive at Books A
Million. Mortar Board members collected over 100
new books and over $100 in donations for Hurricane Katrina
Victims. The books were delivered to Alba Middle School in
Bayou la Batre. November 5, 2005.

Study
Break. Along with the Freshman Advisory Board and
the Freshman Leadership Council, Mortar Board co-hosts a
study break in the freshman dorms during finals week.
Movies, popcorn, desserts, and refreshments, help students
alleviate stress. December 14, 2005.

Campus Beautification. MB members
joined up with Circle K to clean up the campus. January 21,
2006.

St. Mary’s Home Picnic. St.
Mary’s Home is a residential treatment facility where
children of all ages seek refuge. (The children are from
dysfunctional homes.) Joining with Alpha Epsilon Delta and
the Biomedical Sciences Society, Mortar Board co-hosts a
picnic for the children of St. Mary’s Home including games,
face paint, music, a moonwalk, pizza, chips, and
refreshments.

Mortar Board Top Prof. Each
Mortar Board member invites a favorite professor to a
Banquet in the Terrace Room. March 3,

New Member
Initiation. Ceremony held in Student Center to initiate
new members. March 24, 2006.

Faculty Appreciation Day. On a
Friday in March, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts are delivered to all
department offices to show appreciation for what the faculty
and staff do day in and day out. March
