Part 2
"Out Of The Dark, Into The Light"
[Tendo Dojo, Soun's Room]
Soun Tendo lay on his futon, staring at the ceiling.
Soun:[Mumbling] just as I have for the last ten years.
Akane: Father! You're awake!
His daughter's voice stirs him to a fully concious state.
Soun: Akane! Where's Ranma?
Akane: He's Outside with his friends.
Soun: He? I don't remember Ranma being a 'he'... except maybe in Genma's letters.
Akane: Maybe it's better if you see for yourself..
[Tendo Dojo, Dojo 20 minutes earlier]
Akane screamed as her father hit the ground. She rushed over to his collapsed form and sighed in releif when she realized he'd only fainted.
Ranma: is he allright?
Akane: Yeah, if you'll just carry me to his room..
Ranma: sure..
Both took hold and gently moved Soun to his room. They placed him on his futon, Akane taking a seat near his head, Ranma beside her.
Akane: so you're Ranma Saotome?
Ranma: Yes, I...
Akane: Because of you, I've had to babysit an ailing father for the past decade..
Ranma: I'm sorry about that, I should have come sooner, but i wanted to be sure..
Akane: You wanted to be sure? What a laugh; It's all about honor, you have no choice. Bur you can't quite honor a man's commitment as a woman can you?
Ranma:[Almost Whispering] I'm not a woman...
Akane: Then what are you? One second a man the next a woman?
Ranma: I guess to fully explain I'd have to show you. You've already seen what cold water does..
[Tendo Dojo, Dojo]
Akane: ..and hot water changes him back.[Akane douses Ranma with a handy kettle]
Soun: Well, your problems not so big after all. My daughter Akane is to be your wife.
Ranma+Ukyo: Wife! What do you mean wife?
Soun: Marriage of course..
Ranma: Why would I marry her?
Akane: You don't have to say it lke that!
Soun: Your father and I decided many years ago that our children would unite the two lines and carry on my dojo.
Ranma: But I thought that I was supposed to fight her, not marry her.
Ukyo: Besides he can't marry her! he's already engaged to me!!
ALL(except Ukyo): WHAT!!??!?
Ukyo: Ranchan, you remember the reason i tracked you down?
Ranma: Sure, It was because my father stole your cart.
Ukyo: Well I didn't tell you that was my dowry.
Ranma:[Struggling with a Brain Hemmorage] How come you never said anything before?
Ukyo: Because when i caught up to you I was ready to kill youm but after you told me about your father's request, I decided to wait until it was done. I didn't want to make things even more complicated.
Ranma: DAMN IT! Stupid Pops! If he wasn't already dead I'd kill him myself.
Soun: Ranma! What are you going to do about this situation?
Ranma: How should I know? A few minutes ago I had nothing, ecept a soiled family honor, and now i have two fiancées.
Ryouga: And what about Shampoo?
Soun+Ukyo+Akane: Who's Shampoo??!?!?
Ranma: Oh no! How'm I gonna explain this to her?
Ranma starts cradling his head in his hands, thinking about the consequences pertaining to Shampoo. Soun tries to shake Ranma out of it but to no avail. Finally when it appears that it'snot recieving a reaction, Soun turns to Ryouga.
Soun: So who is this Shampoo?
Ryouga: She's this girl Ranma promised he would marry.
Soun: How dare he promise such a thing when he's engaged to my daughter!
Ukyo: Don't forget about me! He's my fiancee too!
Soun: But Akane's predates yours!
Ukyo: Mine is just as valid!
Ukyo and Soun glare at each other for a bit before they're interrupted by Akane.
Akane: So Ryouga, what did happen?
Ryouga: Well, Shampoo and her great-grandmother hunted him down to marry her.
Soun: Why would he be forced to marry her?
Ukyo: I bet Genma sold him to her for a plate of rice...
Ryouga: No, no, no. He beat her in combat.
Soun+Ukyo+Akane: So?
Ryouga: Her tribe of amazons...
All:[Interrupting] Amazons?!?!?
Ryouga: Yeah, she's part of a tribe of chinese amazons. Their laws state that any woman who beats an amazon must be killed.
All: So?
Ryouga: Well when he beat her he was female.
Soun: Then why does he have to marry her?
Ryouga: When they finally tracked Ranma down to kill him, they found out he was a guy..
All: So??!?!
Ryouga: They also have this law about being defeated by a man..
Ukyo: Don't tell me they have to marry whoever beats them?
Ryouga: yep, that's what it says.
Akane: Village of the Amazons. [Snorts] More like the village of the wife beaters.
Ukyo: You're one to talk!
Akane: What do you mean?
Ukyou: Ranchan just beat the crap out of you!
Akane: Oh come on! He didn't beat me that easily!
Ukyo: He was holding back. [Looks meaningfully at Ryouga]
Ryouga:[Hesitantly] She's right...
Soun chooses this moment to break into the conversation, before it descends into an all-out brawl.
Soun: So what's this about him promising to marry her?
Ryouga: After they caught up to him and explained it, Ranma agreed to marry Shampoo in exchange for her great-grandmothers tutelage. He then prmomised he would marry Shampoo as soon as he restored his family honor.
Soun: But the only way to do that is to marry Akane. [Get's noticebaly happier] So her claim is nothing until after Ranma marries Akane.
Ukyo: Why do you keep ignoring me? I have just as much claimto him as you!
Soun: Akane and Ranma have been promised to each other since birth!
Ukyo: His Father took my dowry!
Akane:[Yelling] I've wasted enough of my life waiting for him! i say we knock him outa that stupid trance he's in, and make him choose. I lost 10 years of my life and I'll be damned if I waste a day more!
Soun:[Angry] Akane! You'll marry Ranma and that's it!
Akane: It's Ranma's choice!
Soun nods to his daughter, realizing the truth of her words. He grabs the still incapacitated Ranma and shakes him till he regains sanity.
Ranma: Wha..?
Soun backs away, grabbing both Akane and Ukyo by the shoulders, pushing them forward, presenting them to Ranma.
Soun: Ranma! You must choose which you want to marry!

ok.. i know it's really rough.. i was drunk off my ass when i wrote this but i just wanted to get some writing done cause otherwise i'd prolly never get anymore done. C+C is wanted, although not of the grammatical content, as i said this is really rough, i want an idea about the content. As soon as i finish the series, i'm looking at 10 parts right now, i will go back and change it to prose, but uintil then i want to keep it in script format so i can get the ideas out of my head before i lose them.
