Hi Alaune,
I'm Cherry (Goro's Super Fan), and I was
just browsing through your site and saw that you want some more info about
Goro's movie "Private Lessons". Guess what? I watched it!
Well, all this is a BIG THANKS to Grace, who sent me the video.
The movie really is mostly in English, but
a lot of it is also in Japanese, so I had quite some troubles understanding
those parts. I guess I just guessed what they were saying by their
expressions. It's kinda hard to explain the whole thing, but the
whole idea is that Goro (he's an 18yr old in here, still
goes to school- movie takes place in Japan)
and his mother died 2 yrs ago, and his dad is always on business trips.
Goro isn't very happy (because of losing his mother), and somehow in one
way or another, his driver hired a woman (american, older) to "make him
happier". Oh, yeah, Goro's dad is very rich.Anyway, so to cut the
story short, Goro and the woman, well, you know. Goro really loves
her, and at first the woman wasn't in love w/ him, but later, it was real.
However, (here's the Japanese part that I didn't completely understand)
the driver is kinda like a bad guy, he actually just want to
blackmail Goro. I think this is right,
because he videotaped goro and the woman doing, um , that. So Goro
is trying to fix this mess, and the whole movie is about Goro and the woman
basically. If you don't understand what I'm saying, email me,and I'll explain
better. Goro spoke English, quite well, at
least I can understand it. Nakai also
had a small part. Oh geez, Nakai's hair was quite...UGLY!
But they were all young, so it's quite alright. Goro looked like he was
about 14 yrs old (esp. when he was smiling). As for the movie itself,
I think it's really really strange in a way. To be honest, it was
quite stupid (the whole story line). It was just dumb in a way because
it was just odd, I mean, making Goro as this young naive guy who falls
in love w/ an American woman and involved in blackmail? Come on,
the story was really weak and strange, but still I like it. For only
one reason, and this is because Goro's in the movie!!!!! I'm so biased
in judging this. Goro makes the movie all better, esp when his shirt
is off some time in the movie(yeah! Even though he was really skinny
at that time). The best part of the movie is GORO and the sweet theme
song. I'm still glad I watched the movie, because I just had to see
Goro in this movie. I mean, it was in English! That's just
special! So my final word is this: The movie plot is not good,
but the main character is really very hot, and the song is wonderful.
Wow, I just realize how long this email is! (and I also realize I use the
word "just" a lot!) Blah blah blah, I just keep on talking about
this movie! Once again, a big thanks to Grace for sending me the
movie and you're doing a great job on your website. I hope there will be
more things on Goro
too! Keep it up!
See ya,
Cherry
