Once upon a time some filmmakers in Hong Kong (with the aide of producer/script writer Wong Jing) came up with an unoriginal, but seductively entertaining concept that would appeal to mainly males: lesbian hit women out to rid the Earth (or at least Hong Kong) of rapists and male grime. On a strict note of camp value and those of us turned on by HK's finest "soft-core" actresses in black leather thigh-high boots and skimpy latex outfits doing brutal hits before ultimately turning on each other--"Naked Killer" worked. So well in fact, many critics weren't afraid to admit they liked it, in extreme cases love it.

"Raped by an Angel" is the in-name-only (often called "Naked Killer 2") sequel to the slightly more appealing, attractive, and interesting "Naked Killer." Granted, you don't expect me to use such colorful language describing a film about lesbian hit women, but the words ring true when compared side to side with its counterpart.

Category III content is of course exploited to the lower depths in "Raped by an Angel" with a story about a man with a rape fetish, his victims, and the good (but horny) protagonists that are there to stop him. Sexuality, violence, and bad language feel more disgusting than they ever have.

And that's when you should have smelled Wong Jing, who has an unaccredited sit-down in the director's chair.

Simon Yam (who co-starred in "Naked Killer") looks too embarrassed to care too much about what's going on in the script and yet we're the ones who are really being raped here for buying into the film in the first place.

When "Naked Killer" rolled the credits, you could feel some kind of guilty pleasure in the fact that you enjoyed a film about lesbian hit women who preformed decent action scenes and gratuitous sexual acts, all the while hanging on to a half-written script that you might have even enjoyed.

The pleasure here is that the film is finally over after raping you of your time with a script that dares not leave its genre domains, which in the case of "Naked Killer" was entertainment.

A star goes out to the way in which the rapist is punished, but by no means is that a recommendation.
