Bombay! The City of Lights (not the street lights). It is like a ray of light at the end of a tunnel. There is no dream which cannot be fulfilled ,no dream which cannot be lived in ,no dream which cannot be dreamed in Bombay. Bombay is just teeming with life! I know what you are saying...just step into a local at rush hour and all the enthusiasim will be squeezed out. But inspite of the crowds, filth, extortions, traffic jams, etc I think Bombay is the city to be in if you are in India. I love Bombay!

Bombay2000 is a page for, by and of these Bombay lovers. Conceptualised and executed by Akshay Agrawal and Samit Malkani, Bombay2000 takes a collegian's eye-view of life in this manic, sometimes crazy, city.

The print media daily devotes 1500 cm of newsprint to the World Cup. The space devoted to Kargil is a measly 400 cm. One might feel that the spirit of Bombay is missing, is no more. However, three students have started a collection drive in colleges to collect funds for the families of those killed in Kargil. Collection boxes have opened in Sydenham, Jai Hind and St. Xavier's Colleges. The public may donate as well. These men are martyrs, we can never adequately repay them. But we can try. The spirit of Bombay lives on. If any collegians are interested in starting a similar scheme, you may contact:
