| While
not being a member of Jojii's Sword, Ma and Shinjin leapt into action to
save Kentaro. Basho Genji had found trouble in Uziz before, and it
seemed that the town had exerted its unholy power once again. The
two adventurers headed out immediately for the town, hoping to catch
wind of Kentaro's plight.
After a long journey, the followers of Jojii came to Uziz...a beautiful oasis in the desert. They asked the townspeople about their friend, but no one said a word. Finally, a barmaid mentioned seeing a strange man mumbling something about "master" and "Thasali." He wandered off into the desert, it seems. Fortunately Ma had an old map of the local area, and Thasali was located. Many rats met Ma and Shinjin in the wretched cave, but they were quickly dispatched. That was when they came upon Kentaro...in an unusual state indeed.
All attempts to shake him from his zombie-like trance did nothing. Kentaro sat there cross-legged, motionless...sporting an unusual scar on his forehead. |
The two heroes became exasperated, unable to help their friend. All he would do is breathe lightly and sometimes mumble, "Master"..."Thasali"..."Masako." Finally, all out of options, Shinjin touched the strange mark on Kentaro's head. "Aaaaaaaagh!" he screamed out. Kentaro slumped over, completely passed out. Fortunately, the trance seemed gone and he breathed normally.
Ma and Shinjin watched over the resting Kentaro until he awoke. Dizzy and confused, he mentioned something about a skeletal being which touched his forehead...taking over his mind. He spoke madly about possession and preparation for being a member of the undead.
