SOME INFORMATION:

Tsukasa Hojo was born on the 5th of May 1959 in Kyushu, a Japanese Island.

In spite of the new tendency, followed by most of his contemporary authors, of creating more "western" manga to satisfy the increasing demand of the International Market, T. H. is strongly decided in paying honor to the famous Japanese school.
He's a GREAT author, who perfectly succeeds in combining his original fiction elements with the stricts Japanese outlines.

He discovers his passion for drawing while studing Technical design at university: he'll soon start working very hard as a cartoonist.
In 1987 he wins the 2nd place at the Tezuka grand price with "Space Angels", his 1st production. Then he collaborates with the Shueisha and with "Cat's Eye", T. H. reaches in 1991 the international popularity.

In 1983 he starts "City Hunter" and publishes two short stories, but the series oficially starts in 1985 and ends in 1991 after 35 volumes.
The 1st City Hunter anime is realised in 1987 by Sunrise. The 2nd anime series is out in 1988, the 3rd one in 1989 and the last one will be out during '91.

T. H. drawing technique is now really good and the audience apreciates his work VERY MUCH.
"City Hunter" soon becomes one of the favorite manga in Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Ryo Saeba has been voted as best manga character after NAUSICAA and his dubber, Kamiya Akira, as the best male voice 11 times (of which 4 were consecutive) in 13 before '92!!! (the other 2 times he arrived 2nd for a few votes).
While writing "City Hunter", T. H. also works on other stories like "Splash" (1987-1989), "Tenshi no okurimono" (1988) and "Taxi Driver" (1990). "Splash" is a regroupment of short stories.
Tsukasa hojo also embarks himself on romantic stories with "Sukara no Hana Sakukoro" (1992) and "Komorebi no moto de" (1993). Then he comes back to more dynamic settings with "Rash!" and a war epic adventure, "Melody of Jenny".

With "Family Compo", which is still under work in 1997, he handles with a family of transvestites. In this story, the young Mashiko has to go to live with his uncle after his father's death. He has nothing against moving there, until he finds out that he'll have to live with a transvestites' couple.
The manga work on this unusual universe with almost the same humour as in "City Hunter": "Family Compo" is a new success for Tsukasa Hojo.
