Southern Cross Saga Character bios

Dana Sterling is the daughter of two heros of the first Robotech War.(Max and Miryria) Dana usually bends the rules in the series and constantly disobeys orders. She is usually at odds with Lt. Nova Satori of the GMP. Dana becomes leader of the 15th squadron after Captain Sean Philips is demoted. Even though she disobeys orders Dana consisting leads her squadron of hovertanks to countless key victories. Like grounding the Master's ship,restablishing Com link to Space Station Liberty, and rebeling the first attack of the Robotech Masters. At the end of the Second Robotech War the Southern Cross is in tatters and the flower of life was accidently spreaded by Zor in his attempt to destroy it. With the flower of life loose on earth the Invid sensor Nebula picked up the presence of protoculture on earth. Now the Invid will soon arrive on earth and devastate it. Knowing this Dana gathered a group of survivors including Angelo, Marie, Bowie, and Nova to find the REF fleet to fight off the upcoming Invid Threat.

Bowie Grant is the nephew of the late Claudia Grant who was a crew member aboard the Now destroyed SDF-1. Bowie is a talented musician who enjoys playing the piano. Bowie was raised by Chief of Staff General Emerson along with Dana.(Since their parents left on a mission aboard the SDF3.) Later on in the series Bowie falls in love with one of the Masters' clones Musica. Bowie later joins the expedition along with the Masters clones to fetch help from the REF Fleet against the Invid.

Marie Crystal is one of the best pilots in the Southern Cross. In the beginning of the series Marie feuded a lot with Dana. Marie is huge on discipline which like I said early on puts her at odds with Dana. Later on series Marie becomes looser on her attitude towards Dana especially when Dana saves her life on an important mission to restablished communication with Space Station Liberty.(the Robotech Factory Satellite)Another reason that loosens Marie's attitude was when she started going out with Sean Philips who is a member of the 15th squadron. During the last Battle of the war Marie and Lt. Brown save General Emerson from his burning flagship but were captured when the escape pod was retrieved by the Masters' flagship. At the end of the war Marie along with Angelo, Dana, Bowie, Nova, other Southern Cross soldiers, and the remainder of the clones from the Robotech Masters journey to Tirol to get help from the SDF3 and the REF Fleet to warn them of the Coming of the Invid to earth.

Srg. Angelo "Angie" Dante is Second in command of the 15th squadron. Angie is very serious and can be very rude sometimes. At first when Captain Philips is demoted Angie caouldn't believe that command of the squad was going to be handed over to an 18 year-old insuborninate ditzy teenager(Dana).Dante's antics grow to be really annoying when Zor is captured and put into the 15th squadron.(Angelo constantly spies on Zor). Angie eventually respects Dana as she leads the 15th squadron to many key victories in the Second Robotech War.

Sean Philips was the former commander of the 15th squadron. Sean was not one of the best ATAC(Hovertank) drivers in the 15th squadron but one of the best in the whole Southern Cross. But later on he loses all his useful talents and started doing dumb things like flirting with girls. Sean gets demoted from Captain to Private second Class because he was caught with a daughter of a high ranking officer. Sean doesn't love any of the women he flirts with. But later on in the series Sean gets attracted to Marie Crystal when he saves her life and falls in love with her.

Chief of Staff General Rolf Emerson is the Godfather of both Dana and Bowie. General Emerson believes in peace, justice, and comprise. Emerson is also a skilled Tactician. Rolf constantly argues with the corrupted leaders of the Southern Cross that the earth should make peace rather than fight. The leaders of the Southern Cross usually assign Rolf and the soldiers that are loyal to him to dangerous assignments hoping to get rid of him. Near the end of the war Rolf is captured and killed when he uses himself as a human shield to save his godson(Bowie) from a laser blast.

Louie is a very good engineer, shy and friendly to all. Louie is wears those big goggles most of time because he is constantly experimenting with military equipment. Louie is the genuis who found the weakness in the Robotech Masters' flagship and also the inventor of the pupil pistol program. Louie has made many contributions to the Southern Cross.

LT. Nova is one of the youngest members of the GMP(Global Military Police). Nova is the kind of person that would choose her job over her friends. Nova and Dana feud a lot during the series. The feud gets worse when Zor gets inducted in the 15th Squadron. Nova is cold hearted and even tried to seperate Bowie and Musica. But eventually Nova comes to her senses and helps the 15th squadron free the deserted clones of the aboard the Masters' ship and joins the expedtion to find the SDF-3

Supreme Commander Leonard is a tactical genuis but, very corrupted. It seems he didn't learn in the past when leaders of Earth acted like him the earth was destroyed by the Zentraedi. Leonard hates everyone who opposes him like Rolf Emerson. Leonard refuses to cease fire and wants to destroy the Robotech Masters. Leonard's stubborness has led to the deat of most of the Southern Cross, including his own.

Zor Prime is a clone of the original Zor who was the father of Robotechnology and Protoculture. Zor Prime was created by the Masters to help them retrieve their lost Protoculture factory. While ZOr was under the MAsters' control he piloted the Red Bioriod and was responsible for many Southern Cross casualties in battle. The Masters decativated Zor prime and send him to Earth as a Spy. Zor later regains his memory and destroys the Masters and accidently releases the Flower of Life in an attempt to destroy it.

The Robotech Masters corrupted Zor's discoveries into terrible machines of war that have eradicated many races. They once ruled a huge intergalactic empire. But over years with their protoculture supply dwindling and constant attacks from the Invid have weakened them greatly and now they can no longer mantain their empire. At first the Robotech Masters sent their Zentraedi slaves to fetch their misplaced source. But the Zentraedi failed. NOw the Robotech Masters must regain their protoculture or face extinction. The Masters will do anything to regain their source even if they have to destroy humanity.

Musica plays an important role in the Masters' society. She plays the cosmic harp which keeps the Masters' clones in control. When Musica and Bowie first meet. Musica can't explain what just happened and begins to have feelings for Bowie. The two soon fall in love. Musica helps Bowie and the 15th squadron escape from the Masters' ship and even helps them discover the weakness of the ship. Musica is branded as traitor and she flees to earth with Bowie. Once at earth Musica has problems because officer Satori wants to capture Musica and take her away from Bowie because she thinks Musica is a spy. Musica is very worried when the FLower of Life was discovered in the remains of the SDF-1. Musica from past experiences with the Invid knows the amount of havoc the Invid can wreak.
