This is a continuation of the group of stories that I am writing
about the life of the senshi before Sailormoon. I started with Setsuna
and I am working on Raye. I am hoping this one is short and to the point.
It focuses on Minako this is before Sailor Venus joins the group but after
Codename Sailor V.
I don't own any of the characters. They are owned by Naoko Takeuchi
DIC Kodansha and millions of others that I can't remember. Please no one
sue me. Visit my site http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Harbor/1789

Memories of a Time Forgotten: Minako's Story
**************************************************************************
Minako lay on her bed, head on her arms. She dangled her shoes off
her feet. Silently letting them drop to the floor, she rolled over to look
at the other wall. A sigh escaped from her and tears welled up in her eyes
but they were gone as quickly as they came.
Artemis sat on the pillow of her bed. His eyes watched her with
concern. He opened his mouth to say something but closed it again. All the
time that he had worked with her as a partner had not prepared him for this
Should he try to say something to chear her up or not talk at all? He sat
there silent, watching the young blonde deal with her emotions.
"Minako?"
Minako didn't look towards her cat. She knew that he was worried but
she had to deal with this herself. So much had happened to her. How could
she deal with it all? She buried her head deeper into her arms. "I'm okay
Artemis. Don't worry." After a few moments of silence she lifted her head
again. Clear blue eyes stared at Artemis. He looked closely at her but
could find no trace of tears. "So what has the boss found out? Any new
information?" Her voice was shaky at first but grew stronger as she continued
to talk.
Artemis cleared his throat. "We know that they are somewhere Tokyo.
The sightings are mostly in the downtown area. Why don't we go look for them?
We may just meet some of them on the street. You never know." The blonde had
already gotten her shoes on and was out the door. "I'll go this one alone
Artemis you find out more information. See yah!" She ran out onto the street
and headed out downtown. Artemis didn't move for a second. Slowly he got up
off the pillow and went to the window. From there he could see the normally
bubbly blonde walking up the street. Don't worry Minako, he thought silently.
You'll bounce back. You always do. He jumped down from the window and went
back to work.
**************************************************************************
Minako walked silently down the street. Dragging her feet she thought
back to the last week. Kaitou Ace...Danburite...The Dark Kingdom. Everything
is so confusing now. 'I'll tell you your final love fortune....Your love will
be hopeless for all eternity.' Kaitou Ace how could you? Why would you do
this too me? It's so strange now....Everyone, I need you. Where are you?
I feel you here in this town. You are so close by and yet you are so far
away. My princess, I will find you and protect you from this new enemy. My
job is to do that I will succeed this time where I failed last. Love will not
get in my way of my duty. Kunzite, my love, betrayer of my heart. You no
longer have any power over me. Perhaps, Kaitou Ace, you did give me a gift
the gift to look beyond the false love and go to one that is true. My
princess. I will always protect you.
For a minute she saw again the mists and the ghostly figure reaching
to her. 'Venus help us! Please you must hurry!' She no longer had to guess
who the ghostly figure was. Princess! I'm coming, please help me. where are
you?
"Minako!" She turned around at the voice.
"Artemis?" She questioned. The white cat was running full pace
towards her. She stopped and allowed him to catch up. "What's up?"
He panted for a second trying to catch his breath. "The boss has
activity downtown outside the library. Sailormoon is there supposedly saving
the men on a platform washing windows outside. We gotta go there now!"
Minako straightened. "Right. Lets go!" She scouped up Artemis and
took off towards the library. She arrived quickly and stood with the rest of
the crowd watching the scene unfold. This is wrong. It must be the dark
kingdom that Kaitou Ace worked for.
"She can'tshecan'tshecan'tSHECAN'T!!" The high pitched cry sounded
from the ground at the front of the crowd. A tall brown haired girl was
kneeling down over a blonde girl with hair done up in meatball pigtails.
Memories of women adorned in the same hairstyle rushed through her head. One
was the Queen the other Selenity, The Princess! Could it be. The two talked
for a minute before getting up to leave. Minako followed them. These two..so
familiar they must be the senshi and princess. She followed from the rooftop.
They met with two other girls. She could easily identify each of them
Mercury Mars Jupiter..and the princess. But if it was why did they pretend to
still be looking for her? Could it be that they don't know? But if they
didn't then why was she even here? So many questions raced through her head.
She watched silently as they all transformed. Including the pigtailed girl!
There must be a mistake. She looks like the princess and yet she is a senshi!
One that doesn't exist! Could she be from the Dark Kingdom? Venus followed
them through the docks. The feeling she got from the girl however was
unmistakeable. She is the princess but she is also a senshi, it makes sense
I suppose. The best way to hide the princess is if she is somewhere that no
one would think to look. A senshi!
Minako came out of her revelry with a start. The air had been silent
except for a low thrum of sound. She looked down at the fight. Two men in
grey suits stood by an enormous black ball. Inside of it were the senshi.
One of the men took off and went through the docks looking for
something. Minako was about to help the senshi when she noticed just who
it was that had them locked in the globe. KUNZITE!!
"Princess NO!" she watched helplessly as her princess picked up the
fallen sword and pointed it at her own stomache. Desperate, Sailor Venus
turned towards her forgetting about the fight in her need to save Selenity.
A sharp stabbing pain in her side. She turned back around to see him. Silver
eyes stared at her mecilessly. A cruel smile formed on his lips, for a moment
her vision blurred from tears. The smile stayed before her eyes. A motion out
of the corner of her eye made her turn slightly towards where her princess
had been. The body lay on the ground a sword stuck into her. Venus felt her
determination harden. With a silent cry she pulled out the sword and stuck
it into the man beside her. "You'll never win! I won't let you!" She fell to
the ground blackness coming into the corners of her eyes. Looking one last
time at the silver haired man she turned her gaze to Selenity. She hadn't
moved. Venus's eyes closed for the last time.
She backed up silently. Kunzite! She couldn't face him, could she?
Fear settled deep within her. She turned away from her fellow comrades and
princess. Zoicyte! That was who the other one was. That one she could face.
"Mercury, watch out!" Her call came too late. She watched helplessly
as the blue haired senshi fell to the ground. Behind her fallen body stood
the man she had trusted with her life and love. "Zoicyte how could you? She
loved you." The blonde haired man laughed. "Beryl will win and then we will
release the great Metallia. She got in the way!" Venus felt her hatred swell.
How could he! Slowly the folded form on the ground rose up. In her hands was
an icy blade. With a quick upward thrust Mercury drove the blade through
Zoicyte's chest. Collapsing backwards, she took the blade and thrust it
throuhg her own heart. "Mercury!!!"
She finally found him chasing after a guy in a tuxedo and Mask.
This one must be Tuxedo Kamen. Seeing that he was in trouble, she desided to
lend a hand. "Venus Crescent Beam Smash!" She aimed the beam at Zoicyte and
when he looked at her, she saw Tuxedo Kamen slip away. When he glanced back
at the ground she also left.
This time she went straight back to the globe. Zoicyte was back and
they were standing there threatening Tuxedo Kamen. She aimed carefully. This
time she would not be blinded by memories of the past. Only visions of
Selenity as she was. Her friend and princess. She felt her resolve harden
and she threw away the memories of Kunzite. He was only an enemy now not
the same man she had loved so many years ago. She called out her attack
again and broke the force field. The globe broke and freed the senshi.
I'll take this as my cue. She jumped down to the ground and
introduced herself. Artemis also introduced her. She powered up to fight
them but they took off before she could. For a moment she stared at the spot
where Kunzite had been. The memories were flooding back almost more then she
could bear.
For a moment she thought she would cry but then she realised that she
was no longer alone. The others were standing there waiting for her. It was
time for them all to fight together again. She felt joy shoot through her.
All together again and this time she knew everything would work out. Somehow
she just knew.
That is it short but I hope sweet. I decided that unlike the other
stories that I write I should probably do this Japanese style because I was
going from the Codename Sailor V version and that is entirely Japanese. Also
with the part with Zoicyte being male it just wouldn't make much sense. I
used at least one direct quote and the summary version from this site
http://pqangels.com/sailorv/ I'd also like to thank Kyuuri and Peanut for
helping me to clear up some info about Sailor V being from England. Thanks
bunches. Don't forget to visit my website it is here
