Inverse House: Entrance Hall
You are standing in a medium-sized foyer, with a tiled floor. Next to the
door, a row of hooks provides a place to hang coats, cloaks, hats, and so
forth; opposite the hooks is a large mirror. There is a place to leave
shoes and boots, if you choose to do so, before stepping through the doorway
into the main hall.

>Reeve says, "Hi, Lina."
>Rei knocks on the front door
>Lina (OOC) says, "It's open."
>Rei knocks anyway, though he stands in the entrance.
>Lina looks over at Rei. "C'mon in ... " :)
>Rei steps inside, placing his sheathed daggers on the coatrack. "... When's
dinner?"
>Lina says, "There's food laid out in just about every room on this floor ... a
limited supply of drinks in the dining room ... stay out of the kitchen though,
that's where the caterers are working."
>Kurasu enters from the outside.
>Saruke pokes her head in and glances around. "Hope I'm not too early."
>Lina grins at Saruke. "Come on in!"
>Rei crosses his arms behind his back, and glances around. "..."
>Lina exclaims, "Well? Come on inside!"
>Lina lets you into the house proper.
>Saruke grins and walks the rest of the way in, looking around the house. "Wow.
I like it. It looks great, Lina."
>Lina_Inverse goes into the main hallway.
>Kurasu goes into the main hallway.
>Reeve goes into the main hallway.

You enter the house itself, going into the main hallway.
Inverse House: Main Hallway(#927RJA)
You stand in a large room, which forms the first-floor hallway of Lina's
house. Several doors lead out of this room, in various directions; one
door towards the back apparently leads into the back yard. There are two
sets of stairs as well, a straight staircase leading down and a wide spiral
staircase which goes up to the second floor.

>A couple of people in catering uniforms walk through - no, make that stagger
through - under the weight of several *LARGE* trays laden with delicacies ...

Inverse House: Living Room
You're in a fairly comfortably-furnished living room. A three-seater sofa
(possibly four if you're small; four or more if you're affectionate) sits
beneath the picture window in the front wall of the house, behind an oak
coffee table. There are about three soft, comfortable-looking upholstered
arm chairs as well, and some spare cushions around that *could* be used for
sitting on, if they were needed for such purposes.

>Saruke nods, vaguely, as she looks around the living room. After a moment, she
looks back over at Lina. "Looks like Red won't be here after all, though. I was
hoping he'd make it."
>Lina says, "He might still ... "
>Rei rubs the back of his neck. "... Nice place you have here."
>Lina says, "So!" ^_^ "How've you all been?"
>Rei grins warily. "Hungry."
>Saruke says, "Things have been going well enough for me, I suppose. It's
been...better." Better than? Good question.
>Lina gestures at the tables ... which amazingly aren't even groaning under
their own burdens.
>Rei slowly... carefully... walks over to the food. Then digs in. *_*
>Lina picks up a plate, and starts transferring edibles onto it. n.n
>Saruke wanders over and looks at the food, finally picking a plate up and
adding a few choice morsels to it. "Did you cook these, Lina?"
>Lina asks, "Nope ... didn't you see the caterers?"
>Lina says, "They're charging me a hefty sum ... but this ought to be enough
food for everyone." (Easy for her to say ... the stack of food on her plate is
almost taller than she is!)
>Saruke shakes her head sheepishly. "No, I didn't. Guess I must have passed them
by." She looks around the room, then digs in as well.
>Lina carefully doesn't facefault, but sits down and starts eating. n.n
>Rei . o O ( This is much better then trying to steal some food ^_^ )
>Saruke looks around a little bit, finally finding a chair to sit down in while
she works on the plateful of food.
>Rei shovels it in *_*
>Reeve piles a plate with food, and digs into it with gusto.
>Lina chows down happily ^_^
>Lina says, "So, how're you all?" ^_^
>Rei grins and rubs the back of his neck. "Much better."
>Lina says, "Wai." ^_^
>Reeve swallows. "Pretty good. Rufus hasn't been pushing too hard lately, and
the Gold Saucer's doing well."
>Saruke nods in agreement. *chewchew* *gulp* "The food's good! My compliments to
the caterers." She wipes her mouth off and nods at Reeve's comments. "I was
planning on checking out the chocobo races, actually. How are they doing?"
>Reeve says, "Pretty slow at first, but people seem to be enjoying it now. We
haven't gotten any new jockies yet, though."
>Lina hms? "Chocobo jockies?"
>Rei pops down an hours'derve, and asks, "What's a chocobo?"
>Saruke fills a glass with some juice and looks over at Rei. "Oh, you'll have to
go to the Saucer, if you haven't seen a chocobo, yet. They're big birds...big
enough to ride on."
>Rei blinks. "Don't that just beat all."
>Lina asks, "What does it take to ride one?"
>Reeve says, "Not too much. They can usually run the course on their own, but
they need a jockey, just in case."
>Saruke asks, "Just in case, huh? They don't get dangerous, I hope, do they?"
>Lina nods. "Think I could give it a try?"
>Rei crosses his arms, scrathing the side of his head with his right index
finger. "I gotta see that sometime."
>Reeve says, "No, just that sometimes they don't stay on the course, or they try
to run faster than they should, things like that. And sure, you could try it
Lina."
>*Inverse House: Front Walk* Ucchan knocks at the door...
>*Inverse House: Main Hallway* Myo-kun says, "Come in!"
>Ukyou enters from the hallway.
>Saruke thoughtfully scratches her neck, a little uncomfortable at all the
quiet. No talking about work....but what else is there to talk about? She
glances at the other people, then over at Ukyou, waving to her in greeting.
>Ucchan says, "Hiya Lina-cha...eeh?" and blinks at the company.
>Rei stuffs generic Hors d'oeuvres into his mouth
>Lina waves to Ukyou. "Heya, Ukyou! Help yourself - " She gestures at the
tables, which are heavily laden with food.
>Lina says, "There's more in the dining room and the den .. feel free to wander
around."
>Ucchan sweatdrops, "Lina-chan... How many people're you expecting?"
>Ucchan o.o; at the table (make that plural) 'heavily laden with food' "This
here alone is enough for... Well... you!"
>Rei looks quite content. He burps, and leans back in his seat
>Reeve is still eating from a plate piled with food.
>Lina says, "Look, it's not my fault that Gourry disappeared somewhere ... "

>Saruke picks at the last bits of food on her plate, then stands up and edges
her way over to the table to get more of it.
>Ucchan hmms at Reeve, O.o "You a friend of Lina? Since when?"
>Reeve says, "Oh, we've known each other for a while now."
>Ucchan okaaaaays at Reeve, "Friends enough to get invited, well, I guess she
keeps a few things from me after all."
>Lina asks, "Ukyou, Reeve's one of the good guys, okay?"
>Lina says, "Not everyone associated with Shinra is a villainous scumbag, after
all."
>Ucchan hmms? at Lina, pikuing cluelessly, "And when did I say anything like
that?" she crosses her arms, frowning a tad, "don't put words in my mouth."
>Lina says, "It's a good thing you didn't ... seeing as *I* do some work for
Shinra, too." n.n
>Ucchan says, "..."
>Ucchan o.O; "Jeez, what's with her all of a sudden?"
>Ucchan gets some food herself, a small plate and not too filled.
>Ucchan sits down in a sofa and looks questioningly at Lina...
>Lina says, "I'm glad you made it, Ukyou."
>Ucchan n.n; "Hey, some stuff is better not missed." and picks a bite with her
chopsticks.
>Rei mumbles through a mouthful of food. "Real *gulp* nice house, Lina."
>Lina ^_^ "Thanks!"
>Reeve takes the time to swallow his food before talking. "Yes, the place looks
great."
>Ucchan o.O . o O ( From Itashijin to weretiger. I wonder if Lina... (trails
off) )
>Lina smiles even more. "You appreciate why I don't want any damage on the
premises, right?"
>Rei nods again n.n;
>Saruke goes and puts the plate down on the table, suiting herself with just a
drink for the moment.
>Ucchan dabs at her food with chopsticks, hrrrrming and frowning thoughtfully.
>Ucchan . o O ( Do I? Don't I? )
>Reeve finishes the food on his plate, but doesn't get any more, instead just
getting a drink.
>Ucchan n.n; "Oy Lina, you got any music here?"
>Lina hmms ... "Yeah, actually I do have some ... no karaoke though."
>Rei would exhale in relief if he knew what that was
>Reeve does know. And he does exhale in relief.
>Saruke grins at Reeve's look. "What? You don't sing, Reeve? Personally, I think
Karaoke would have been fun."
>Ucchan says, "Let 'er rip then!" n.n then talks to Lina with a more discreet
voice, "I got something to talk to you 'bout Noda." o.o;
>Rei raises a hand. "What's 'karaoke'?"
>Lina pops a CD into the stereo (was that a picture of *her* on the front ... ?)
then nods to Ukyou. "Okay ... " Her mood flickers a bit at mention of Noda's
name.
>Reeve gives Saruke a dry look. "No, I don't."
>Ucchan smiles at Rei, "Singing. You got the music, and you follow along best
you can."
>Rei scratches his head. "... Oh. Doesn't sound THAT interesting."
>Saruke grins at Ucchan and nods, then over at Reeve and shrugs, almost
innocently. Almost.
>Myo-ohki enters from the hallway.
>Ucchan giggles at a thought, "Oy, if the guys won't sing, maybe they'll dance."

>Reeve says, "..."
>Ucchan then uses a more serious tone... to make this sound funnier: "Choose
your punishment." -.-
>Lina *ahems* and hauls Ukyou out by her sleeve. -.-;;; "C'mon, you."
>Ukyou decides to follow Lina_Inverse.
>Ucchan exclaims, "Hey! I didn't mean Now!"
>Ucchan gets dragged along nonetheless... o.o;
>Lina_Inverse goes out to the main hallway.
>Lina_Inverse leaves with Ukyou following behind.
>Myo-kun turns to watch the two girls leaving.
>Reeve says, "...I think I'll just watch. Anybody else is free to sing, if they

>Saruke just blinks at the two leaving, then scratches her head, shrugging.
"Well, guess it was important." She looks down at the plate. Hmm....

>Myo-kun finishes loading up his plate, and starts nibbling as he sits down near
the door.
>Rei reclines back in his chair. "... Got awfully quiet once Lina left."
>Ukyou enters from the hallway.
>Ucchan comes in and blinks at the music, "Feudal rhythms... cute."
>Rei glances over at Ukyou. "Where's Miss Lina?"
>*Inverse House: Back Yard* (There is a small explosion from the back yard.)

>Reeve says, "What was that? o.o"
>Ucchan arches an eyebrow at the direction of the sound, "Well, looks like Lina
listened after all..." and sips her juice. -.-
>Rei scratches his head. "... Was that Lina?"
>Lina_Inverse enters from the hallway.
>Lina's expression is carefully neutral as she begins reloading her plate.
>Saruke pauses, the drink in mid-sip, just....sweatdropping.
>Ucchan twirls her glass of juice, aaaand tries to change the mood, "So, who's
up to dancing?" n.n
>Rei sweatdrops
>Saruke blinks again, then shakes her head. "I don't do a lot of dancing. Not
usually, anyway."
>Ucchan smiles at Saruke, "Two guys two girls... Perfect." and turns to the
guys, smiling wickedlerrr... make that 'smiling ever-so-sweetly'
>Rei sweatdrops again o.o;
>Reeve dittos Rei. o.o;
>Saruke rubs the back of her neck, then grins slightly. "Well....I
sup..pooose....."
>Myo-kun asks, "What about me?"
>Ucchan blinks at Myo, "Kiddo, y'need to do some sprouting."

>Lina asks, "Ne ... you think anime soundtrack music is right for dancing to,
Ukyou?"
>Ucchan O.o "That's the _only_ music y'got?"
>Lina says, "No, it's NOT the only music I've got ... " o.o;
>Rei raises a hand. "... Do we HAVE to dance?"
>Lina says, "No, and I'd rather there were more people here if there's going to
be dancing anyway ... " She grins at Ukyou. "You can dance on your own if
necessary, ne?" n.n
>Ucchan looks at Rei, then turns to Lina and downright sloops. "Hmpf" is her
sole response as she sits back in the sofa and crosses her arms.

>Saruke scratches the back of her neck nervously. "Not me, I couldn't. I
wouldn't even try..I'd embarrass myself, completely. Maybe with someone,
but..." She shakes her head. "Not alone."
>Lina resumes her earlier seat, munching on her food. . o O ( Well, this party's
a pretty dismal flop so far. )
>Rei smiles weakly. "... The food's okay."
>Ucchan looks at the guys, a little frowningly, "So you don't sing, you don't
dance... What _do_ you do?"
>Lina grins, "They sit around, talk, and eat."
>Rei nods.
>Reeve says, "I never had much free time back in Midgar, so I never really
learned about how to do things like that. n.n;"
>Ucchan o.o "Jeez, even Kunou knows tricks for parties."
>Saruke shrugs. "It isn't so hard to pick up on it, anyway. Free time or no. At
least, I wouldn't think it'd be."
>Rei rubs the back of his neck, and looks away. "... I've been too... occupied
to learn how to do stuff like that."
>Reeve says, "Well, I guess I could try it sometime..."
>Ucchan n.n at Rei, "Come on, I'm sure you know a trick or three with those
'toothpicks' of yours."
>Rei blushes, though it's hard to tell through the fur. "..."
>Lina finishes eating (again) and stands up. "Okay, you all want tricks ... ?"
>Ucchan says, "..." and sweatdrops, she asked for it.
>Saruke shoves back in her chair, to give Lina a little room. . o O (This should
be interesting) She drains her glass and sets it down.
>Rei turns to Lina, and watches
>Lina raises her hands over her head, magical power gathering around her as it
spirals upwards from the ground ...
>Reeve sets down his glass and watches Lina.
>Lina pulls back, the energy coalescing into a nearly solid sphere around her
hand; if she were wearing her cloak, it would be billowing dramatically behind
her. Then she brings her hand forward, pointing straight at you ... the energy
is released in a brilliant, almost blinding wave of energy ...
>Rei puts his hand in front of his eyes
>Ucchan EEPS! and covers with her arm.
>Saruke shades her eyes, blinking only slightly. Hey. There are advantages to
tinted glasses, thanks. *squint*
>Reeve lowers his gaze and shields his eyes with his hand.

>Ucchan says, "Reii..." -.- "Hey wait, that wasn't you." o.o;
>Saruke blinks, then widens her eyes a little nervously. ".....uh?"
>Reeve looks around for the source of the sound. O.o
>Lina lowers her hand, grinning as she looks at the results of her handiwork ...
a one-foot-long dragon sitting on the coffee table.
>Rei blinks again, and STARES O.o;
>The miniature dragon roars again, sounding like a behemoth at least a hundred
times its size ...
>... Scaring the bejeezus outta the neighbors
>Saruke winces at the sound, then grins, blinking her eyes open. "It's....cute!
Noisy, but cute!"
>Reeve stares at the dragon. o.o;
>Ucchan goes behind her couch, where she'll be protected by a thickness of
naugahyde, or whatever stuff the couch's made of. o.o;
>Rei . o O ( Reminds me a little of Ryu... but smaller... o.o; )
>The dragon takes off from its perch, settling briefly on Lina's shoulder - then
disappears in a flash of light, turning into a garland of flowers, which
settles around Lina's neck.
>Rei applauds, slowly
>Saruke adds in her applause afterwards, a little hesitantly.
>Reeve says, "Wow. o.o"
>Lina sits back down, stroking her garland. "How did you like that?" ^_^
>Ucchan whistles... staying behind her couch nonetheless... n.n; "Is it gone
now?"
>Saruke says, "I don't think I've seen..uh...party tricks quite like that one."
>Lina strokes the garland again, smiling mischievously. "For the moment, it is.
Want to see it again, Ukyou?" ^_^
>Rei rubs the back of his neck. "... Unusual... use of magic, there."
>Lina says, "Hey, even cantrips are good for something."
>Ucchan o.o; "No thanks... I don't get along with those critters."

>Rei asks, "Next for what?"

>Saruke raises her hands and shakes her head. "Don't look at me. I'm no good at

>Rei nods. "Good idea. I'll go get my daggers."

You're in yet another comfortably furnished room. The carpeting here is
thick and soft; the visible walls are paneled in dark-finished wood. There
are several bookshelves on the walls, and a large television occupies one
corner of the room.

You go out to the back yard.
Inverse House: Back Yard
You're in a spacious, grassy yard behind the house. There's a small porch
attached to the back of the house, with a short flight of stairs leading
down to the yard itself.

[Things : None ]
>Kurasu emerges from the house.
>Reeve emerges from the house.
>Lina_Inverse mumbles, "Ne .. .... Sith could come .... ... your
'trick' .. ... want .. .. .." to Reeve.
>Reeve mumbles, "I'm going .. have to do a trick .. o .. ." to
Lina_Inverse.
>Rei rubs the back of his neck, and looks around. "Well, I don't really have a
trick, I guess, but I have good aim."
>Saruke says, "That's not so bad. Go ahead. I love to see some knife-throwing."
>The desc doesn't currently include a partially-slagged wall made out of rubble
from the old house ... it looks like it's there for the purpose of being a
target.
>Rei draws his daggers, and smiles. "This is the best I can do." He slowly
begins twirling each in his hands, steadily increasing the speed. Suddenly he
throws both of them straight up. The daggers spin in the air - each being over
a foot long, this looks rather nasty - but even so, he manages to catch each on
the way down, tossing them into the wall
>Lina whoo-hoo!!!s, and claps!
>Ucchan whees, and applauds, n.n "Now that's a trick I can relate to."
>Saruke applauds that one with a little more feeling. Probably because she isn't
worried that the clapping is going to sic a noisy beast on her.
>Reeve claps, impressed.
>Rei rubs the back of his neck and blushes, walking over to the daggers and
pulling them out of the rubble
>Saruke grins and nods. "That was great!"
>Lina says, "Next?" ^^
>Ucchan hmmms... o.o "Well, my most impressive stuff usually involves
high-diving. gimme a while to think." x.x;
>Lina says, "Other next?" ^_^ She looks between Reeve and Saruke.
>Reeve looks at Saruke. o.o;
>Saruke blinks at Reeve, then shrugs. "Don't look at me."
>Kurasu pages, "Well, he's hoping to make it a corporation that'll work with
contacts for high-ranking individuals...everyone in the corp having heavy magic
powers, and behind the scenes, still being a place of magic." to you.
>Reeve says, "Well, I guess I can do a trick... But it'll take a while to get
ready. I need something to come down from the Gold Saucer."
>Ukyou goes home.
>Ukyou has left.
>Reeve starts fiddling around with his watch...
>Rei rubs the back of his neck, and waits
>Cait_Sith hops into the area.
>Cait_Sith has arrived.
>Lina waves! "Heya, Cait!"
>Saruke shifts nervously. . o O (What in the world am I supposed to do?

>Rei blinks o.o; "... Why not."

>Saruke blinks and backs off again. "Well, congratulations. I think." She rubs
the back of her neck. "Interesting."
>Lina asks, "Am I next?"
>Rei shrugs
>Reeve doesn't mention that he uses one of the companies that supply fortune
cookie fortunes to get these... <.< >.>
>Saruke nods. "Go ahead, Lina."
>Cait Sith nods, and hops over to Lina, doing the same dance.

>Lina takes it, and looks at it ...
>Rei looks at his slip again. . o O ( Love? )
>Lina grins. "Good fortune! Apply yourself, and you can succeed." . o O ( So

>Lina glances down at herself. "Oops ... I'm wearing yellow." n.-
>Lina exclaims, "Thanks, Cait!"
>Saruke grins a little. "I might as well get one, too."
>Cait Sith ehehs... "Remember, I never said this was a very *good* trick..."
>Cait Sith hops over to Saruke, and does his little dance for a third time.
Saruke grins. "Well it isn't bad. Better than what I could do." She ehehs, and
reaches for the slip, once it's proffered.
>Cait Sith gets another piece of paper, and hands it to Saruke.

>Saruke looks down at the piece of paper and hmms. "It says: Be careful. Events
are unstable. Your lucky color is....yellow?" She blinks, then looks down at
herself. "But...I don't look good in yellow."
>Lina hmmmmmmmmmmms thoughtfully ...
>Saruke blinks, then shrugs, folding the paper and tucking it into a pocket.
"Thanks, Reev...er, Cait." She grins at the pair, stepping back.
>Rei says, "Don't this just beat all."
>Reeve presses a button on his watch, and Cait hops off again.
>Cait_Sith heads around the house, towards the front yard.
>Cait_Sith has left.
>Reeve asks, "So... Who's next?"
>Lina asks, "Saruke?"
>Rei asks, "Isn't that everyone?"
>Saruke blinks and shakes her head at her name. "Don't look at me. I don't have
anything I can offer. Really."
>Lina says, "Darn ..."
>Saruke shrugs and smiles sheepishly. "Gomen."
>Lina asks, "Well ... what now?"

>Saruke glances around, then shrugs slightly. "That's...a good question. There
really aren't enough people to think about a dance, or anything like it..."

Chocobo Square
Having walked up a long flight of stairs, you finally reach the inside of
Chocobo Square.
The floor is covered with purple carpeting, with concentric circles of lights
running out from the center of the room, where the booth for placing bets is
located. The booth itself is a counter on top of a wall of bright lights
running along the floor, and supported above it is a monitor which gives a
video feed of the current chocobo race. A blue-haired woman in a black dress
sits in the middle of the booth, taking bets, and announcing results.
In the upper left corner is the entrance to the staff area, where the
chocobo jockeys wait between races. And along the right wall is a booth where
winnings can be picked up or exchanged for GP.

>Saruke looks up at the screen, watching the chocobos running, thoughtfully. . o
O (Been a while...)
>Lina glances at Reeve. "So how do I try out as a chocobo rider?"
>Saruke blinks, then looks over at Reeve. "That could be fun. I wouldn't mind
giving it a try, too."
>Reeve points to the back left corner. "We'll, I'll sponsor you for this race,
since you don't have a chocobo. Just head over to the lounge there, and you'll
be given a chocobo to ride in the next race."
>Lina heads over to the lounge ... then stops, looking down at her dress. "This
isn't really riding gear, is it ... "
>Rei hmms. "I'll just watch..."
>Saruke looks down at her own clothes, then grins. She looks up, then over
towards Rei with a shrug. "Sure. If you want." She starts over towards the
lounge, though.
>Myo-ohki arrives from the station.
>Myo-kun runs in with a small bundle under his arm ...
>Lina blinks. "Thanks, Myo-kun ... " She takes the bundle, and goes off
somewhere to change.
>Announcer: "All jockeys, the next race is about to begin."
>Saruke follows the rest of the jokeys as they start towards the chocobos. She
quickly closes her jean jacket, to keep it out of the way.
>Lina runs over to the lounge, now dressed in ... what looks like a cross
between a Magical Girl costume and the kind of dress a peasant girl would wear
(complete with skirt-length apron)
>Rei sweatdrops
>Reeve says, "..."
>An attendant quickly explains to Lina and Saruke how to give commands to the
chocobos, and then tells them that Lina is number 5, and Saruke is number 6.
Then he walks off.
>Saruke counts down the chocobos until she comes to #6. She glances around at
the people, patting its neck, then mounting and settling herself into the
saddle. Or what passes for one on a chocobo.
>Lina settles herself on her bird, stroking its neck gently and saying something
quiet to it.
>Saruke isn't doing as much talking to the bird, yet. She's aquainting
herself...or is it re-aquainting herself? ...with the seat. She does pat the
bird's neck reassuringly, though.
>Announcer: "Get ready..."
>Saruke leans forward slightly in the saddle, shifting her glasses up and making
sure they're firm before the run.
>Lina copies Saruke's stance.
>The race music starts playing... And they're off!
>Saruke leans forward, giving a soft command to the chocobo and starting it
running. She's not the sort to hold the bird back so much, apparently, and it's
going at a relatively fast sprint.
>Rei watches the giant birds race, unsure quite what to make of it
>Lina flicks the reins gently against her mount's neck, sitting 'deeper' and
leaning forward, quietly coaxing her chocobo through a relatively gentle
acceleration ... not pushing it too hard but urging it, gradually, towards its
top speed.
>Rider #3 on the red chocobo puts on a burst of speed, and holds it, pushing on
quickly ahead.
>Lina . o O ( This'd be so much easier if I could barbecue the competition ...
I'd probably get arrested for it, though. )
>Lina whispers, "C'mon, girl!!" as she flicks the reins again, prodding her
mount with her heels under the wings, inducing it to put on a burst of speed of
its own.
>Saruke narrows her eyes at the red chocobo ahead of her, leaning forward along
the bird's back as it sprints to catch up with it.
>Lina . o O ( C'mon ... come *on* ... )
>The red chocobo continues pulling farther and farther ahead, before quickly
slowing down to a slow walk, panting...
>Lina eases up on her chocobo, not wanting to exhaust it before she's got the
race in her pocket.
>Saruke's chocobo skids past the red chocobo, wings slightly outstretched as it
sprints, then slowing itself down again, still at a fast pace. Saruke grins as
her own chocobo's feet continue to eat the track, loosing the reins along its
neck and giving it its head for the most part.
>Rider #1 on the white chocobo and rider #4 on a black chocobo start coming up
strong from behind, just as the track comes to a u-turn.
>Lina glances over her shoulder, then digs her heels in *hard*; her chocobo
"Wark!!"s in surprise, and bolts!
>Saruke's pown chocobo gives a complaining cry as Lina's starts to catch up,
swerving hard towards the outer wall. Saruke curses under her breath,
tightening up on the reins and swinging the bird baaaccckk towards the inner
edge, to try and keep there from being too much room to pass. It's also
starting to slow itself a little bit, not yet exhausted, but its full speed has
dropped.
>Lina waah!!s and tries to rein her mount in before it runs itself into the
ground ... not that it's having that at the moment. ovo
>The finish line comes into sight, but riders 1 and 4 are coming up fast.
>Lina sighs, and lets her chocobo run ... just tugging lightly on the reins in
hopes of keeping it from tuckering itself out prematurely ...
>Saruke's chocobo is also slowing itself down, though she digs her heels in
some, coaxing it softly to try and sprint. However, the bird will have nothing
to do with it. It's not so tired that it can't run, but sprinting just doesn't
seem interesting....
>Lina shouts "GO!!!" as she digs her heels in again, trusting her intuition to
guide her, leaning as far forward as she can without toppling off ...
>Rider 1's chocobo starts lagging, but #4's black chocobo uses the stamina its
been saving to put on a burst of speed, pushing for the goal.
>Saruke narrows her eyes, giving a shout to her own chocobo as well. Even tired,
the bird springs to a faster sprint, Saruke's position shifting to make the
running easier. Its wings stretch slightly, beak gaping as it tries to make the
line before the black. (yeah right.)
>The black chocobo crosses the line several seconds ahead of the rest of the
competition (he is the champion of this class, after all) but who will finish
second?
>Lina is just going for it, not even thinking about the other chocobos - just
hers, and the finish line.
>Saruke is running her poor bird hard as well, full sprint as she tries to
keep...regain? her position where it is, trying to get across that line next.
>In the meantime, there's always the possibility of Teioh barbecue .... yum.
>Saruke's bird stretches its head out, beak crossing the line well before the
rest of it does. Saruke gives a whoop of excitement, reining the now-exhausted
bird in. Hey, she might not be doing the chocobo victory-dance, but she's doing
as close as she can.
>Lina's own chocobo makes it across half a beak ahead of choco #1.
>A guy standing in the room watching the race on the monitor jumps up and down.
"Whoo-hoo! I won!" He hands in his ticket, and rushes off with his prize.
>Lina sighs, shaking her head ... leads her chocobo back to its stable, and
trudges back to the lobby.
>Saruke swings down from her own chocobo, patting the tired bird's neck and
talking softly to it as she starts to lead it back to the stables as well.
>Rei applauds
>Reeve exclaims, "Great race!"
>Saruke comes back out into the lobby, rubbing her hand across her forehead a
moment. She nods at Reeve, giving a half-bow, then looking over at Lina,
offering a hand towards her with a nod. "Good riding, Lina."
>Lina says, "Thanks ..." She shakes hands.
>Reeve asks, "So... What next?"
>Rei scratches his head. "What else is here?"
>Saruke says, "In the Gold Saucer? Quite a bit. At least, if everything's up and
running, there is."
>Rei hmms and crosses his arms. "Wasn't there a collesium or something?"
>Lina asks, "The Battle Arena?"
>Saruke nods at Rei. "The battle arena...Rachel and I were talking about it."
>Reeve says, "We could take the cable car tour of the entire place."
>Saruke closes an eye and counts off on her fingers. "There's also...the arcade,
the roller coaster..." She shakes her head, then looks at Reeve. "You know the
list better than I do."
>Rei rubs the back of his neck. "Sounds good to me."
>Saruke nods at Reeve. "That's a good idea. I'd love to see it, if it's working
now."
>Lina says, "Guess I'll join you ... "
>Lina blinks. "Anyone know what time it is? The caterers have probably packed up
and left by now ..."
>Rei shrugs. Does he look like he has a wristwatch?
>Yeah. Someone else's.

Round Square
You are standing on a small platform with yellow safty railings around it.
There is a small shack with a chocobo statue on top, where an attendent sells
tickets for the ride, and a gap in the railing where the cars come down the
track to pick people up.

>Saruke walks over, somewhat sluggishly for a moment, as Reeve waves them over.
She looks inside, then looks at Lina and Rei. "Want the window seat?"
>Rei shrugs. "Only if you don't."
>Saruke shakes her head. "No, go ahead. I don't mind."
>Lina looks at the confines of the car ... at the other potential occupants ...
and at herself, and the somewhat minimal outfit she's presently wearing
(undesced, though)
>Rei shrugs and takes the window seat
>Saruke waves Lina in as well. "Well? You want to go ahead?"
>Lina takes the other window seat ... so she'll have someplace to go in a real
pinch.
>Saruke steps in after Lina, taking the seat near the door. For the same reason
Lina's taking the window seat.
>Lina_Inverse mumbles, "Heh .. Let the guys be ... crowded .. one side
.. ... .." to Kurasu.
>Reeve gets in last, taking the other seat by the door. The doors shut, and a
few moments later, the round starts moving.
>Kurasu mumbles, "Huh .. Well .. it lets .. .... an eye on them .."

>Saruke shifts herself in her seat slightly, then leans over a bit to look out
the window. . o O (Why, why, _why_ did I agree to this?)
>Lina gets quiet as she looks out the window as well, considering the view. She
*seems* pretty relaxed ...
>The car passes by the various sights of the Gold Saucer, as an awkward silence
settles over the interior.
>Rei looks out the window . o O ( This is amazing... Ryu should see this... )
>Reeve glances out the window, but isn't awed by the view, as he's seen it
before, numerous times.
>Saruke watches the roller coaster as it streaks by in the background.
>Saruke blinks and glances around, then rubs at her upper lip a moment, shifting
herself again into a more comfortable position. "It looks good, Reeve." she
says, as though workong on breaking that silence.
>Lina blinks. "Hey .... Reeve, the chocobo course didn't come outside, did it?"
>Reeve says, "Oh, it does. What you saw on the course was all an illusion."
>Lina asks, "Oh really ... ?"
>Rei blinks
>Reeve nods. "Completely computer generated."
>Rei rubs the back of his neck. "What's a 'computer'?"
>Saruke nods thoughtfully, then looks out the window again. "Pretty amazing. I
never would have guessed."
>Reeve says, "Ah... a computer is... Well, it's pretty hard to explain to
someone who's never seen one before."
>Rei listens patiently o.o
>Saruke looks for a minute like she might try and explain, but settles down
pretty quickly, scratching her head and trying to decide.
>Lina asks, "Rei, what do you know about modern technology?"
>Rei comments, "That's Momo's department." o.o
>Lina asks, "... right. Well, have you seen video games?"
>Rei rubs the back of his neck. "..."
>Lina sighs. "Okay ... computers are things which use electricity and do a lot
of stuff that it's hard to explain properly."
>Lina looks back out the window. "Hope that helps explain ..."
>Rei stares blankly
>Saruke uhms. "It's...a sort of machine. That can be programmed, and told to do
a lot of different things with information."
>Rei scratches his head. "So... it's a machine that you can tell to do stuff?"
>Saruke nods some. "Basicly."
>Saruke wells, "There's...more to it than that, but that's it in a nutshell."
>Rei nods. "Okay, I get it."
>Saruke nods at Rei, looking back towards the window again and watching the fair
pass underneath once more. *shift*
