Marketplace



The commercial center of Nerima has an old-fashioned feel to it, most shops are 

small and usually made with wooden walls and tile roofs.  Many colorful signs 

jut out in the street, filling your field of vision with colorful kanji.  You 

take a good whiff of the air, different enticing smells tempt you more and 

more... The local restaurants have a good reputation, though they tend to cater 

more to the student crowd.

>Rei walks in from the south, yawning and rubbing the back of his neck. He 

blinks as he spots Ryu.

>Tasuki says, "Call it idle curiousity.  Call it sticking my nose where it don't 

belong.  Call it being bullheaded and stupid.  Call it an excuse to find 

something to blow up.  Call it a want to help Ukyou find out what she wants to 

know.  Whatever.  "

The young man before you yawns widely, baring his fangs.  He looks directly 

at you and simply hehs.  His golden-brown eyes focus on you as a smirk plays 

itself acrss his face.  His bright orange hair is kept at a medium length, 

almost flopping in front of his eyes.  He wears a pair of earrings and a 

beaded necklace at all times.

  

Tasuki is currently dressed in a pair of khakis and a white teeshirt.  His 

tessen hangs off his belt, and he is carrying a light blue suit jacket over 

his shoulder.

>Lina doesn't notice Rei's arrival right away (but waves OOCly)

>Ryu is... uhm... choking. Profusely. He asks Tasuki in a hoarse whisper, "What 

*is* that?"

>Rei blinks, and jogs over. "Hey, hey Ryu, you okay?"

>Tasuki pays no attention to Rei whatsoever.  (OOC waves)

>Ryu nods to Rei, wiping his eyes. "Fine," he says unsteadily, giving the flask 

in Tasuki's hand a wary look.

>Tasuki says, "The bartender called it 'Deathwish'.  Everclear, vodka, whiskey 

and peppermint shnapps."

>Rei slows down to a brisk walks when he sees Ryu's okay.

>Lina sprouts a largish sweatdrop. . o O ( Naga would love this guy - he must 

drink even more than she does. Except she doesn't get drunk as easily ... )

>Ryu nods wisely. "Oh." Beat. Beat. "What's everclear?"

>Rei sweatdrops.

>Tasuki says, "180 proof alcohol.  One step down from rubbing alcohol."

>Tasuki finally notices Rei.  "Y'wanna slug?"

>Rei blinks. "Sure, why not. Sounds like a healthy drink."

>Lina looks over, and waves to Rei. ^_^

>Tasuki holds his flask out to Rei.

>Ryu sweatdrops, and glances at Rei. Proofage he's not heard of, but it doesn't 

take a rocket scientist to figure out that Tasuki's talking about potent stuff. 

He lowers his voice and asks Rei, "Did you find.... uh-oh." He backs away. o O 

( Wonder what Rei -drunk- is like? He acts a little crazy all the time... )

>Rei snatches it from Tasuki, taking a big swing. Handing the flask back, he 

comments, "Hmm. A bit weak."

>Ryu stares.

>Lina *WHAM!!* _._,,,

>Rei looks over at Ryu, waiting for him to finish thequestion

>Lina picks herself up off the ground, still staring ... then shakes her head 

and walks into the Nekohanten.

>Lina_Inverse walks into the nekohanten

>Lina_Inverse has left.

>Tasuki blinks a bit, then smiles.  "Y'know...  I thought so too."   . o O ( 

WEAK?!?!  This stuff is harsh! )

>Lina_Inverse walks out from the nekohanten.

>Lina_Inverse has arrived.

>Ryu, still looking a bit poleaxed, finishes, "...Momo?"

>Lina . o O ( Sheesh ... )

>Rei shakes his head. "I haven't seen her in days."

>Ryu says, "Neither have I..." He gives Rei and Tasuki an incredulous glance to 

share between them, and asks, "You drink that... for fun?"

>Rei blinks, and shrugs

>Lina wonders aloud, "Who's Momo?"

>Tasuki nods at Ryu.  "So?"

>Ryu tells Lina, "She's our friend. And she knows how we got here."

>Tasuki offers his flask to Lina.

>Lina ahs.

>Ryu glances at Rei and Tasuki, and sweatdrops.

>Lina ehs, "No thanks - I don't drink." ^^

>Tasuki mumbles, "Drink  ..    ....  your  .......  ....  .." to Lina_Inverse.

>Lina hauls off ... *POW!!!!!!* (if Tasuki doesn't dodge ;)

>Tasuki gets plowed, dead center, in the middle of his face.

>Lina seethes quietly, then lowers her fist again.

>Ryu sweatdrops.

>Tasuki goes mega-sized SD, and towers over Lina.  "WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!?!?"

>Lina looks entirely unintimidated. "Don't talk about my figure that way and you 

won't get hurt for it."

>Rei makes a slow glance at Ryu   ^^;

>Tasuki asks, "What am I supposed to say?  Puts hair on your chest?"

>Lina says, "That'd probably have been even dumber." n.n

>Ryu nods significantly to Rei... and veeeery carefully puts a couple of feet, 

just a 'safety margin' between himself and the Tasuki/Lina argument. He asks, 

"Rei, did you -really- rip off some guy with a blue bandanna?"

>Tasuki returned to normal size and composition on that last pose.

>Tasuki sighs and swills the rest of the flask.

>Rei blinks at Ryu. "Blue bandana? Not that I recall..."

>Ryu says, "He said he was selling pictures of--" Ryu turns bright pink and 

finds himself unable to continue.

>Lina asks, "Pictures of who?"

>Rei blinks, and parrots Lina, "Pictures of...?"

>Tasuki looks much more sober now.  He glances at Ryu and begins to grin 

heavily.  "Who's the hentaiboy here?"

>Rei peers at Tasuki. "He's Ryu, an... old friend of mine..."

>Ryu manages to flush an even deeper shade of crimson as he finds himself the 

center of attention. "S-someone named Kurasu. N-naked..." He stares at Tasuki, 

and protests, "I wasn't trying to buy them!!" *O_O*

>Rei blinks, and shrugs. "No, don't recall anyone like that..."   . o O ( Who's 

Kurasu? )

>Lina's eyebrow hides under her bandanna. "Pictures of *KURASU*?!"

>Tasuki nods at Rei.  He then turns to Ryu.  "Uh huh.  Yeah, right.  Y'know you 

wanted 'em..."

>Ryu steels himself. He *saw* what Lina did to Tasuki. He nods to Lina.... then 

glances at Tasuki, and sweatdrops.

>Lina asks, "Does she know?"

>Ryu spreads his hands. "I don't know. I don't even know who Kurasu is."

>Lina says, "Former Shinra employee, but she split with the company recently."

>Lina . o O ( Better not tell them about SOLDIER. )

>Rei asks, "Shinra again? What, do they run this town or something?"

>Lina says, "They'd love to, but they don't yet."

>Lina says, "And I don't plan on letting them get that far ..." n.n

>Ryu points. "They -do- have the best view of the city, though..."

>Tasuki stands there as a faint glimmer of reccolection passes through his mind. 

 He turns to Lina, and asks, "Is this ther person you and Red were bitching 

about?"

>Lina follows Ryu's point ... "Huh. I never realized you could see the tower 

from here."

>Lina nods to Tasuki, "Yeah, actually."

>Rei hmms, and glances towards Shinjuku. "You have a point."

>Ryu sweatdrops. "I didn't mean... but it's over... uhm. Nevermind."

>Tasuki hmms and grins...  one of those scary 

'I-Just-Thought-Of-Something-Really-Fun-And-Dangerous-To-Everyone' types...

>Rei didn't seem to pick up on it. He comments to Ryu, "It's one of those towers 

though, right? How do they build 'em so BIG...?"

>Ryu shrugs. "I'll bet Momo would know."

>Tasuki mumbles, "..  ..  ..  ..  ..  your  ......  party  ..  .....  .......

......  war  .......  .." to Lina_Inverse.

>Rei hmms.   . o O ( Scary thought. )

>Lina gives Tasuki a look. "That's not really your concern, is it? Why do you 

ask?"

>Ryu glances at Lina and Tasuki. "Would you mind if I asked you both a question?"

>Tasuki says, "So it's a private party then?  RSVP and all that $#!+?  Can I 

crash and have a good time like the rest of y'all?"  ^_-

>Lina sighs, and looks at Ryu. "What's your question?"

>Ryu winces, afraid this is going to sound as odd to -them- as asking does to 

-him.- "Ah... do you know if God is around here, by any chance.....?"

>Lina gives Ryu the almost-predicted weird look.

>Rei sighs. "Well, gues it never hurts to ask..."

>Lina looks at Tasuki again. "What's your name?"

>Ryu glances at Rei and shrugs. "If we find her, maybe we'll find Garr and the 

others, too."

>Rei says, "It's possible. Momo did say they were likely to be around here, 

somewhere..."

>Ryu asks, "Then why haven't we heard anything? Someone like Garr kind of... 

uhm.... stands out, you know?"

>Rei scratches his head. "... This is a BIG city..."

>Ryu admits, "You're right. It's bigger than anything I've seen before."

>Tasuki holds out his hand.  "Call me Tasuki.  Everyone else does."

>Tasuki turns quickly to Ryu.  "WHICH God?"

>Rei blinks. "There's more then one?"  o.o;

>Lina shakes hands briefly. "Lina Inverse. Now ... the problem is that Shinra is 

entirely capable of overreacting - " She stops as Tasuki turns to Ryu, sighs, 

and mutters, "I'll tell you later."

>Lina waves, and starts walking south ... (OOC: Player has to log off ^^)

>Ryu mirrors Rei's startled look, and nods in agreement with him. "Her name is 

Myria."

>Lina_Inverse heads south towards the curve of Hisashi way.

>Lina_Inverse has left.

>Tasuki says, "Myria?  Never head of her.  Suzaku, Seriyuu, Genbuu and Byakko, 

yes... but Myria?  No."

>Rei shakes his head. "Never heard of 'em."

>Ryu frowns, puzzled. "Who else, did you say?" He gives Rei a 

'YOU-know-what-he's-talking-about,-right?' glance.

>Rei just shrugs back at Ryu

>Tasuki says, "Hey, I've SEEN Seriyuu and Suzaku with these eyes, pal..."

Ryu asks, "They're.... gods? More gods?"

>Rei rubs the back of his neck, confused. "How many gods can there be around 

here?"

>Tasuki shows y'all the symbol on his arm.  "Dunno how many gods there are, but 

Suzaku gives me it's power to defend it's miko..."

>Rei rubs the back of his neck some more. "Don't that just beat all..."

>Ryu, feeling like he's batting a thousand on 'stupid' today, asks reluctantly, 

"Miko?" He follows that up with a more wide-eyed, "Then, you talk to God? Uhm, 

-a- god, at least?"

>Rei . o O ( Garr would be VERY interested to talk to this guy, if he were 

around... )

>Tasuki shakes his head.  "Suzaku doesn't actually communicate with it's 

seishi...  more like it's a protective god."

>Ryu exchanges a glance with Rei, and then asks Tasuki, "Would Suzaku order you 

to destroy an entire race for no good reason?"

>Tasuki says, "No."

>Rei rubs the back of his neck.

>Ryu, in a tone that suggests he really doesn't -want- to ask the next question, 

continues, "But, if there -were- a reason....?"

>Tasuki says, "Suzaku only asks us to protect it's miko.  Nothing more, nothing 

less."

>Ryu . o O ( Suzaku sounds nicer than Myria.... )

>Ryu offers, "She sounds like a nice god."

>Rei . o O ( It must be someone else, if Suzaku's a god after all. Or maybe, 

Myria isn't a god...? )

>Tasuki says, "Ehh...  If the miko's not careful, then Suzaku could consume her. 

 Other than that, I would venture so."

>Rei pauses a bit, looking down, then glances at Ryu once again.

>Ryu asks, "Consume.....?"

>Tasuki reaches back for his flask, and pulls it out.  His tessen has punched a 

nice little hole in it, a result of his fall from Lina's punch.  He throws the 

injured container to the ground and spits, "and THIS is why I hate women!"

>Ryu O_O;

>Rei blinks, and sweatdrops   ^^;

>Tasuki grumbles, then notes the question.  "Oh, yeah...  Seriyuu almost took 

it's miko 'cause she wasn't strong enough or some bull$#!+.  Sortuvva 

transformation from human to, in Seriyuu's case, dragon."

>Rei pauses, and looks over at Ryu. "..."

>Ryu steals a glance at Rei, and asks Tasuki, "... .... ... Dragon?"

>Tasuki nods.  "Yeah.  Big.  Blue-green.  As big as that building there <>."

>Rei sweatdrops, and looks at Ryu again. "You don't think...?"

>Tasuki says, "Scaly.  Angry.  Dragon."

>Ryu gives Rei a blank look. He's quite clearly not sure -what- to think.

>Ryu finally asks, "There are ot.. ... dragons here?"

>Tasuki says, "Suzaku is a (translater's note: It's NOT, and I repeat, _NOT_ a 

phoenix, dammit!) red peacock (translater's note: Thanks.) (Typist's note: no 

prob.).  Genbu is a green tortoise.  Byakko is a white tiger.  Dunno of any 

other dragons."

>Ryu . o O ( Seiryuu.... a dragon-god....? )

>Ryu admits, "I didn't know there was more than just the one god. Are -all- gods 

animals?"

>Tasuki says, "I'm no priest.  If Chichiri was here, he could tell ya.  What 

I've told ya is all I know."

>Ryu nods. "Thanks."

>Rei . o O ( Now I'll bet he'll want to track down this Chichiri guy... )

>Ryu does. He wants to track down Seiryuu, too. But he'll mention -that- to you 

-later-.

>Tasuki says, "I'll tell the Chimonster when I see him that you two would like 

to talk to him."

>Rei blinks. "B-but we didnt say we- ..." He looks at Ryu, then back at Tasuki. 

"... Gotcha."

>Tasuki . o O ( Chichiri...  by Suzaku, he can be a pain in the ass sometimes no 

da. )

>Ryu grins.

>Rei sighs.   . o O ( Like I could stop him if I wanted to... )

>Tasuki points behind him with his thumb.  "Yeah...  he tends the temple just up 

the road.  Easy to find."

>Ryu nods eagerly, and repeats, "Thanks."

>Ryu asks, "Uhm. Who are -you-?"

>Tasuki says, "Tasuki.  Thought I'd mentined it earlier."

>Ryu looks sheepish. "Sorry. I missed it."

>Tasuki scratches his head and looks to both of you.  "I'll seeya later.  I"

>Tasuki says, "I gotta eat."

>Tasuki walks into ucchans.

>Tasuki has left.

>Ryu glances after Tasuki, then to Rei. "....?....."

>Rei turns to Ryu. "... I know what you're thinking. Just say it."

>Ryu says, "He was.... really strange."

>Rei says, "To say the least."

>Ryu asks, "But, Seiryuu... .... do you think she's real?"

>Rei says, "... I dunno, but he sure seems to think so."

>Ryu says, "We should check the temple for that priest he was talking about."

>Rei rubs the back of his neck. "He didn't say which temple."

>Ryu sweatdrops. Rei's right.

>Ryu asks, "How many temples can there be?"

>Famous last words.

>Rei sweatdrops in return.

>Ryu says, "... ... ... Maybe... -after- dinner."

>Rei grins at that. "Maybe you aren't crazy after all."

>Ryu glances at the possibilities. "Where to?"

>Rei grins warily. "There's a few places around here... I'll pay for it too, 

don't worry."

>Ryu is clearly worried, but knows better than to ask where Rei came up with 

something other than zenny. If he doesn't know, it's not his fault.... right?

>Ryu says, "...All right."

>Rei looks around. "That Ucchan's place is supposed to be good..."   . o O ( And 

I haven't robbed them yet, should be safe. )

>Ryu nods. But he can't help asking, with another faint blush, "You're -sure- 

you haven't met this guy with the blue bandanna?"

>Ryu has decided to follow you.

>Ryu . o O ( I was -not- buying pictures!! )

>Rei rubs the back of his neck. "I don't think so. Do you know his name?"

Ucchan's





"Welcome to Ucchan's."

This is Japan's best spot for Okonomiyaki, and you won't even have to cook it 

yourself. This little restaurant is clean and decorated in modern style. 

Dispersed on the walls are a series of vertical slips describing specials and 

in the four corners there are wooden plaques with spirit wards. You can sit on 

one of the stools surrounding the counter (which happens to double as the 

grill, watch out, it's hot...) or at one of the narrow tables arranged on the 

right-hand wall. It's a place where students often hang out, so the atmosphere 

is usually friendly and very informal.

>Tasuki asks, "Oh... question.  Refills on the sodas?"

>Ryu puts Feather Sword in Swordrack.

>Ukyou picks a bowl and leans closer to Tasuki...

>Ukyou mumbles, "Yeah  ..  just  don't  ......  the  ....  ...  much  .." to 

Tasuki.

>Ryu, looking a bit confused, nods to Rei. "What you're having is fine." . o O ( 

Onoko...huh? )

>Rei . o O ( I THINK that's how you say it   <.< )

>Ukyou noddles cheerfully, "Chicken for three, and 'nuff stuff for the buffs." 

^,^   then she rummages behind her counter.

>Ryu seats himself and takes a few minutes to look around the restaurant.

>Ukyou pulls out a rather mean looking knife and hefts it high!  A nearly 

audible glint run along its length... What the heck, this is anime, it _IS_ 

audible.

>Ryu O_O

>Rei . o O ( Woah, that's bigger then my daggers   o.o )

>Ukyou brings the knife down... *chop*chop*chop* and she hums a tune while she 

hacks some chicken to thin slice.

>Rei looks at Ryu, and sweatdrops. "Hey, I just heard it was good, okay?"

>Utena walks in from outside.

>Utena has arrived.

>Utena wanders in, barefoot and holding her sneakers in one hand. "Hi.."

>Rei and Ryu are sitting at a table. Ukyou is... cooking.

>Ryu nods to Rei, looking a bit dubious. He can't complain; he's not buying.

>Ukyou makes the batter, mixes the appropriate meats in, and indeed cooks...  

She blinks at Utena, "Ara... This ain't a temple, why're you taking yer shoes 

off sister?" o.o

>Utena giggles. "Gomen. I was walking on the beach and I'm waiting for my feet 

to dry off." n.n;

>Ukyou . o O ( Beach... That's another district... Hm-hmm, she musta stepped in 

a puddle or something. )

>Tasuki sips his softdrink quietly for once  >>>>>[AMAZING!]<<<<<

>Utena finds a chair and sits, wiggling her toes. "Better." She slips her socks 

and sneakers back on. "Anyway... can I have a vegetable okonomiyaki, onegai?" 

Looking toward Ukyou.

>Ukyou ^_^ "Sure thing... Ano, you're on a diet or something?"

>Utena blinks gently, large blue eyes. "No.. I just don't need a lot of heavy 

meat in my system... why?"

>Ukyou sweatdrops. n.n; "Nooothing."

>Ryu, almost visibly perking up, leans forward slightly to call to Ukyou, 

"Excuse me.... miss....?"

>Ukyou hmms?

>Ryu gives Rei a bright smile, and asks Ukyou, "Do you know of a temple nearby, 

just down one of these streets?"

>Ukyou noddles at Ryu, "Yup, there's one just a block north, and another farther 

south somewhere on a hill."

>Ryu (OOC) eeps. Sorry, guys, I've gotta AFK a bit. Got an unexpected houseguest.

>Tasuki asks, "So, howareya, Ukyou?"

>Utena eats her food slowly, glumly toying with her plate's contents a bit.

>Utena blinks.... putting her hand on her head suddenly, shaking it out with a 

furious gesture.

>Tasuki continues to cleanse his sinuses via the yellow wasabi treatment.

>Rei exhales.   . o O ( Quiet evening. )

>Utena SLAMS her hand into the table suddenly, eyes wincing closed. "stop." 

muttered under her breath.

>Too, too quiet...

>Kurasu pages, "After that....gods only know." to you.

>Rei blinks, nearly jumping out of his seat.

>Utena lifts shattered blue eyes and gazes helplessly at Rei. "I... I'm sorry.. 

I just... " She grinds her palm into her temples..

>Rei asks, "... Is something wrong?"

>Tasuki glances back, as if nothing were wrong.

>Utena whispers, ".. he's talking to me... he's in my head.. I can't make him 

stop.." Apparently it takes all her strength just to say those few words with 

coherence, tears building at the edges of her eyes.

>Rei blinks. And blinks some more...?

>You whisper, "... Who?" to Utena.

>Tasuki glances back again, knowing something IS wrong now.

>Utena struggles, her eyes jamming shut. "... kagato..."

>Rei goes wide-eyed.   . o O ( That guy I saw before...? )

>Tasuki o_O;

>Utena gasps suddenly... eyes that were closed now opening WIDE, planet-blue 

orbs swimming in white. "He's COMING."

>Rei tenses up. "Huh?"

>Tasuki o_o;  -_-;;  O_O;;;

>Utena bites her lip... "No.. I can't.." But she, looking rather SADLY like a 

puppet on strings, unfolds from the chair and starts.. dragging her way toward 

the front door.. managing enough to say, ".. don't follow me.." to anyone that 

might be interested in helping her. She doesn't want to risk anyone getting 

hurt...

>Utena exits the restaurant, a little bell jingles.

>Utena has left.

>Rei fetches Daggers from Swordrack.

Bristol Beach





 The wind ruffles your hair, blowing across the bay to the fine  white sands of 

this beach. Across the wide expanse of sand, you see a  grassy hillside to the 

south, an old restaurant perched at its top. Far  along the beach to the east 

you can just make out the piers jutting  into the bay at the waterfront. But 

here, all the world seems to be  sand, water, and sky. When one is alone here, 

be it night or day, it's  a communal experience with the sea. And when here 

with others, it's a  great place for a martial arts volleyball tournament or a 

marshmallow  roast! Swimming anyone?

fear and agitation.

>Kagato weeps openly.  "Please...  It was my foolishness that began this.  

Please.  The Galaxy needs you, Empress..."

>Utena just stands there somewhat paralyzed, small mouth stammering, her eyes 

huge and moistened with tears of utter confusion. Dimly she shakes her head.

>Kagato whispers, "You feel something like a hand clamp around your throat...  

nothing is there, but you FEEL it..." to you.

>Rei blinks, stepping back, choking...

>Rei . o O ( ...? What the...? )

>Rei stands in place, grinning slightly. He reaches up, clutching at his throat, 

hoarsely whispering, "... W.... what...?"

>Utena continues to stand, her hair flickering in the ocean breeze, eyes wide, 

frozen.

>Kagato whispers, "In some sort of noncoporeal judo throw, you get tossed about 

three feet back.  Not far, but to get the intention across.  You land on your 

feet, but it looks rather nifty." to you.

>Kagato drops to his knees.  "Please..."

>Rei oofs, quietly... suddenly sprawling backwards several feet, toppling over

>Tenchi walks west, coming from the bazaar area.

>Tenchi has arrived.

>Tenchi watches from behind a nearby hut.

>Tenchi keeps a hand over Mayuka's mouth.

>Rei is sprawled on the ground, breathing labored

>Kagato senses someone...  someone who has killed him...

>Utena tries to shake her head no... "I.. can't.."

>Kagato swivels around quickly.  His eyes search for the only one to ever best

>Mayuka perhaps gets Tenchi's idea.  At any rate she doesn't cry at the moment.

>Burn walks west, coming from the bazaar area.

>Kagato mumbles, "It  is  ...  ....  ....  ..    ...  evil  ........  have  

found  us  ..  ..  ..    ..  must  ....  .." to Utena.

>Kagato offers to lead Utena.

>Tenchi is hiding behind a hut.

>Burn walks in slowly, yawning slightly...

>Rei is sprawled on the ground, breathing labored, though you likely don't 

notice, in this large area...

>Utena blinks again, and stares at Kagato as if he's grown a second head, so far 

beyond her gentle mind's comprehension... "I.. can't..." she mouths, almost 

silently... tunnel vision, unaware of anything else, with powers warring inside 

her. Certainly her ghostly protector does not want her moving ANYWHERE... her 

ring flaring with a soft pink light.

>Tenchi emerges.  "Leave that girl alone!" he says with a lot of bravery, but 

perhaps some stupidity.

>Kagato excalims, "YOU!  The First Prince of the Royal House of Jurai!  How dare 

you try to assassinate the Empress!"  He fires a volley of green bolts at 

Tenchi, with a warcry of "SHIIINEH!!!!"

>Kagato whispers, "The grip fades.  You can do as you wish." to you.

>Tenchi (as usual in anime) gets missed by all the bolts, but runs from them, as 

he struggles to get out Tenchi-ken while still carrying a baby in his arms.

>Utena whips around and STARES, her eyes reflecting and tracking the green 

bolts... "no..."

>Rei inhales suddenly, whatever was holding him down suddenly absent. He turns 

his head slowly, looking at the strange man firing... energy at Tenchi...   . o 

O ( H... huh? Tenchi? )

>Tenchi gets grazed by one of the bolts.  "Ow!"

>Burn says, "........."

>Kagato continues firing rapidly, then suddenly stops and points the business 

end of a green energy sword at utena's neck.

>A blade appears in Tenchi's sword.

>Tenchi exclaims, "Let Utena-san go!"

>Rei leaps to his feet, drawing back to toss a dagger at the agressor... UNTIL 

he gets a hostage. D'oh.

>Tenchi exclaims, "Let Utena-san go!"

>Kagato chuckles.  "Not a chance, boy."

>Burn asks, "What the hell is going on?"

>Rei . o O ( I don't know what's going on, but I know who the villain is... )

>Tenchi says, "That man enslaved Ryouko, tried to kill me, and wants to take 

over Jurai..."

>Tenchi says, "I thought he was gone..."

>Kagato says, "You'd only won that battle, boy.  The Soja's being rebuilt."

>Burn rubs his eyes a bit, "He's back again?"

>Tenchi glares at Kagato.

>Kagato (OOC) Placement:  Utena is standing up.  Kagato has his sword under her 

chin, and is between Utena and the sea.

>Rei rubs his throat, and horseley coughs. "Watch out... someone here can kill 

you without... hitting you..."

>Utena does not move. Barely breathes. Acutely aware of the weapon at her neck. 

Her heavy signet flares with light, but nothing else seems to happen 

obviously... as if the ring is protesting her situation..

>Burn stays silent...

>...........narrowing his eyes a bit...

>Kagato says, "Go ahead, Tenchi.  Try something."

>Tenchi says, "Damn you, you know I can't."

>Rei . o O ( I could hit him at this range... if I was in top shape... )

>Kagato smiles.  "...and that is why you will lose the war."

>Burn . o O ( I wonder how far my barrier works.... )

>Rei . o O ( I could... no, I'd probably kill her too... )

>Utena finds her voice, weak and tremulous. "Don't hurt anyone... please... 

whatever you want, you can have it from me... but don't hurt anyone..."

>Burn says, "Kuso..."

>Kagato steps forward and grabs Utena by the chin, his sword just barely nicking 

her throat as he does so.  "Well, then...  perhaps I can find something.  

Meanwhile..."

>Utena ghs! softly, her eyes squeezing closed, soft face distorting as her air 

becomes.. a bit more difficult to draw.

>Kagato fires a wave of bolts into the ground, sending the sand flying and 

obsuring all view of Kagato and Utena..

>Rei charges forward as soon as the dust kicked, his speed pretty impressive, 

but easy for Kagato to track.

>When the sand settles, Kagato and Utena are gone...

>Tenchi looks around for Kagato, then looks up in the sky.

>Rei skids to a halt, kicking up a little sand himself in the process. He coughs 

a little more. "Dammit... where'd they get to?"

>Kagato's laugh seems to emminate (sp?) from every facet of the ground...

>Rei looks around, slowly approaching the area where the two were

>Tenchi looks for gaps in the remaining dust clouds.

>Kagato has left.

>Utena drops rose ring.

>Utena teleports out of the room.

>Utena has left.

>Burn exclaims, "Where the hell did they go?!"

>Tenchi says, "I don't know!  Kagato has a lot of strange powers, and he might 

have just gone to his ship anyway..."

>Rei looks down. "Hey... hey, you two, there's one clue..."

surface flickers with strobing pink light, and it's extremely warm to the 

touch..." to Burn, Tenchi and you.

>Tenchi reaches for the ring.

>Burn says, "This crap happens way too often..."

>Rei breathes deeply, Tenchi notices as he approaches. Rei comments, "... Do... 

do you know what that is? I think it was the girl's... Utena's..."

>Tenchi nods.  "It looks like some kind of magic ring..."

>Tenchi says, "I don't know what it is, all I can think of is asking 

Wasyuu-chan."

>Rei narrows his eyes. "Duh. And who's Wasyuu-chan?"

>Burn asks, "Mind if I come along Tenchi san?"

>Tenchi says, "She's a friend of my family's..."

>Tenchi says, "She knows a lot of things."

>Rei . o O ( Maybe it isn't a good idea to let him take that... but I've met him 

before, he seems okay... )

>Tenchi touches the ring and is startled at something.  "Who are you?" he asks 

to nobody.

>Rei coughs a little more   . o O ( Damn, getting strangled is no fun... )    

"R... Rei."

>Tenchi says, "Not you, the voice in the ring."

>Rei blinks. "Voice... in the ring...?"

>Tenchi puts the ring down.  "Hey, everyone, look at this..."

>Tenchi drops rose ring.

>Tenchi says, "He says he's the Prince of Roses."

>Rei says, "How odd..."

>Tenchi says, "It stopped..."

>Rei . o O ( Still doesn't even come close to explaining what's going on... )

>Tenchi picks up the ring again.

>Tenchi says to the ring in his hands, "What can I do to help Utena-san?"

>Rei rubs the back of his furry neck. "... Tenchi...?"

>Tenchi says "Oh." in response to something.  "So she has to wear you...  that 

doesn't help much.  Could you somehow find out where she is?"

>Utena pages, "Tenchi's seeing something that's inside the ring n.n;" to you.

>Burn waits patiently...

>Rei shrugs at Burn, taking another moment to rub his throat...

>Tenchi says, "A world containing an inverted half?  That sounds like the 

Souja..."

>Burn asks, "And where would the Souja be?"

>Tenchi says, "It's his ship, it's probably in orbit..."

>Rei asks, "So, ah... what did the... ring say...?"

any way to get to orbit."

>Rei hmms, and looks up. "Orbit?"

>Burn asks, "Well....got a two space suits?"

>Rei . o O ( Space? You can actually go to space? )

>Tenchi exclaims, "I don't carry those with me!"

>Rei sits down in the sand. "Hey... Tenchi? Would that Kagato guy be capable 

of... choking someone from a distance?"

>Rei . o O ( Even though... it wasn't his voice I heard... )

>Burn says, "Well, I can get us to space but just need something to be able to 

survive space."

>Rei says, "Don't that just beat all..."

>Tenchi says, "I don't know..."

>Tenchi says, "That wouldn't be his style though."

>Rei has stopped rubbing his throat now, it seems. "Something... someone did 

that to me, when I tried to spy on them... I heard a voice in my head..."

>Tenchi says, "You can get into space...  you just happen to have a spaceship on 

you?  That's a little weird."

>Burn says, "Well...not exactly..."

>Rei pauses. "A female voice..." He shakes his head, and comments, "Do you even 

know if he's in space? If not, we probably shouldn't try to go..."

>Burn says, "Don't look at me."

>Tenchi says, "The ring described the Souja to me...  I was there once, I know 

what it is."

>Rei exhales. "It's a ship though, right? Then it might be anywhere..."

>Burn asks, "Well...how do we get there then?"

>Tenchi says, "I don't know..."

>Kagato teleports into the room.

>Kagato has arrived.

>Utena has arrived.

>Rei comments, half sarcastically, "Maybe the ring will give us more hints..."

>Kagato hovers 20 feet off the ground, holding Utena.  "See, my dear?  They, 

your 'friends', hold your precious ring."

>Rei falls back on his rear, looking up at the two. He immediately draws his 

dagger... but there's that pesky hostage situation again.

>Burn looks up all of a sudden like an instinctal reaction...

>Utena thrashes about. "Let GO of me...! The only reason I lost it was because 

YOU DRAGGED ME OFF!" Her body trembling with ill-contained anger.

>Kagato tosses Utena at Tenchi.  "Here you go, boy.  You wanted her so badly.  

What happened to the Princess and Ryouko?  Not doing it for you these days?  

Bwahahahahahha..."  He fades out.

>Rei leaps up, to catch Utena, if nobody else does. A 20' fall can hurt.

>Utena yelps! and is pushed.. from 20 feet in the air.. toward Tenchi, and ends 

up landing in Rei's arms...

>Burn could have flown up

>Kagato opens a warp gate and disappears...

>Rei lands on the ground with a light *whff*, gently putting Utena down.

>Utena clings to the tiger-man for a moment, her small body trembling fearfully, 

before she draws back and offers a weak smile. "... a.. arigato.." She turns 

and looks around... "Did any of you find..?" hopefully..

>Burn says, "The ring? Tenchi has it."

>Utena nods and moves to Tenchi.. "Can I have it back, please...?" holding out 

her hand.

>Rei opens his mouth to comment, but closes it again as Burn beats him to it. He 

takes a step back from Utena.

>Utena softly adds, "Please, it's important. I can't let that ring be away from 

me."

>Utena snarls... once more touching her head.. but now sheer outrage lights her 

face. "LEAVE ME ALONE!" she howls furiously, sweeping her hand at the air.

>Rei looks around   . o O ( Just like at Ucchan's... him again? )

>Burn asks, "What the hell is the matter with you?"

>Utena exclaims, "He won't leave me alone.. he keeps PUSHING into my head...!"

>Rei narrows his eyes. "... I think it's that Kagato man, again..."

>Burn asks, "Who?"

>Tenchi hands rose ring to Utena.

>Utena fits the heavy silver ring back onto her finger with a sigh of relief... 

her face lightening some, the obnoxious low-level music pervading her thoughts 

fading down, away.

>Utena gazes around. "I'm sorry you all got messed up in this..." she says, 

unhappily. "I know what he wants of me now.. but he's NOT going to get it."

>Rei sheathes his daggers, turning to Utena. "Well, I hope you don't mind me, 

but I just hate it when folks mess with other folks' heads. I'll keep an eye 

out for that guy."    . o O ( And if I catch him alone... )

>Tenchi asks, "He's stalking you, right?"

>Burn says, "Doubt you'll stand much of a chance against him by yourself."

>Utena nods to both Burn and Tenchi. "Yeah, he is. He's after something 

important to me."

>Tenchi asks, "The ring?"

>Tenchi. o O ( Your maidenhood? )

>Rei takes another step back, turning. "... If you need more help, look around 

the park, I'll probably be there."

>Utena says, "Who my ring will lead me to."

>Utena says, "I realize that's not very helpful, but you guys shouldn't even be 

mixed up with this at all."

>Rei grins as he walks. "I'm already mixed up in far too many things, one more 

can't hurt."

>Tenchi says, "Kagato's an old enemy of mine and I'm very involved in it just by 

him being here."

>Rei sighs   . o O ( I knew there had to be something fishy about this Tokyo... )

>Burn asks, "Damn....I don't wanna feel left out of the on-going commotion now 

do I?"

>Rei walks away from the beach, leaving the area
