Bedroom(#4318R)
Compared to the size and clutter of the living room, Ryan's bedroom is a nice
change of pace. A little more than two-thirds the size of the main room, it lacks
the massive amounts of text, although it does have a smaller TV (with video game
consoles, even).
The large bed is, of course, the central piece. It's king-sized, but rather
unornate, with patternless, masculine sheets and blanket. You might begin to
wonder why he has such a large bed; Ryan isn't all THAT big.
Anyway, a door near the entrance leads to the walk-in closet, filled mostly
with Ryan's usual attire of sweats and karate gi's. Another door leads off to his
deluxe bathroom, with large hot tub, even. Well, nobody said Ryan didn't like to
relax.

You walk into the living room.
Living Room(#4317R)
The small foyer by the front door opens into the main room of the house, which
has apparently been designated as a den. Quite good-sized, it's about 20'x30',
leaving plenty of room for the bookcases, table, desks, and chairs that litter
the place.
The bookcases alone are probably the most notable feature. While most places
have paintings hanging from the wall, with the large bookcases occupying the wall
space, there's little room left for portraits. Only the west wall, with its large
picture window, is free of the items. A cursory inspection reveals a mix between
scholarly texts (books on physics and archaeology, encyclopedias, etc.) and
frivolous items (comic books, graphic novels, etc.)
Everything else is sadly pedestrian, really. Just rather generic (if
comfortable) furniture, although the wide-screen TV is a nice touch. Two doors on
the north wall lead to the bedroom and his laboratory, respectively, while doors
on the east wall lead to the garage and cellar. The kitchen, adjacent to the
living room, is rather undersized for the house, but contains all the essential
appliances.

>Ryan walks out of the bedroom, still in nightshirt (flannel even!).
>Rachel is standing in the kitchen, making breakfast. Bacon is sizzling, as she
stirs the scrambled eggs on another burner. And there's a fresh pot of coffee in
the sparkling new Braun machine. ^_^
>Oooh! Coffee! Yum! Ryan strolls over, a smile on his face. "Smells good!
>Rachel smiles. "'Morning. I slipped out to buy some real food while you were
all still asleep."
>Ryan rubs the small of his back, and stretches. "Lazy of me... usually get up
long before this. Good idea, haven't had a real breakfast in ages."
>Rachel says, "Eggs are almost ready. Bacon can be now, depending on how crispy
you like it."
>Ryan smirks. "No rush, I ain't going anywhere..."
>Rachel is wearing an apron over one of her sweater-and-jeans outfits.
>Rachel says, "I'm not a fancy cook, but I can manage this all right."
>Ryan nods. "Let the bacon crisp a little more, I'll go change into something
decent."
>Rachel grins at you. "If you didn't have other guests, I'd be wearing _just_
the apron."
>Ryan smirks. "Shame, I admit. Atypical circumstances, though."
>Rachel says, "I'm very happy for Eden."
>Ryan nods. "Must've been an interesting revelation..."
>Rachel nods. "It started a few weeks ago. One night she confessed to me that
she wasn't human. I think it surprised her a little when I told her I'd
suspected it for a while, though I also admitted having been far from certain."
>Ryan shakes his head. "Never suspected anything, myself. Not along those lines.
I just thought she was just very... literal."
>Rachel says, "What really surprised her was when I told her it didn't matter to
me, and that I still regarded her to be a living person."
>Ryan rubs the back of his neck. "Wasn't your job to hunr down rogue andr...
boomers? That probably tempered her opinion. Like i said last night, I've seen
way weirder stuff then to be worried about whether she's a machine or not." He
taps his chin. "Nicer then some of the humans around here, heck."
>Rachel says, "I'd like to think the conversation she and I had that night helped
open her mind to the possibility."
>Ryan hmms. "It probably didn't hurt, if that's what you mean."
>Rachel dishes you out some eggs and bacon, and another plate for herself. "Here
you go."
>Ryan erps. "Lemme go get dressed." He jogs off to the bedroom, where you heare
the sounds of much shuffling around.
>Ryan steps back out wearing his usual outfit. He mumbles something about
'starved' as he sits down at the table.
>Rachel asks, "Want some grapefruit juice?"
>Ryan beams. "Sure!"
>Rachel pours two tall glasses, and gives you one. "As far as the things we hunt
back home, they're related to Eden in about the same way that a gorilla is
related to you and me. Now imagine the gorilla's armor-plated and has very
effective built-in weaponry, and you've got it."
>Ryan pops a strip of bacon into his mouth. "I'd imagine... you said something
about using them as labor? I doubt they'd build labor robots like her." He taps
his chin. "Well, it might improve morale around the site, but it'd be a bit
inefficient."
>Rachel says, "No, her type was originally created for other uses. But they're
not normally fully sentient like she is. The ones we wind up after are
construction units and military models, mostly."
>Ryan nods. "Gotcha there." He takes a swig of the grapefruit juice and swishes
it around in his mouth a moment, before swallowing and commenting, "I usually mix
some O.J. in with it to dampen the bitterness."
>Rachel says, "I got to like it like this a long time ago."
>Ryan shrugs. "Guess it's an acquired taste." He pops a bite of egg in his mouth,
then asks, "This does beg the question, though... how did she get hired for the
unit? I don't know the backstory here, so..."
>Rachel says, "We were all recruited by the man who also bankrolled our
equipment. Or who at least is the visible face of whoever's paying the bills."
>Ryan hmms as he takes another sip of the juice. "I wonder if he knew?"
>Rachel says, "I'm sure of it. The only thing I'm a little irked by is that he
didn't tell me. But his reasons were understandable, the way Eden explained
them. The only member of the team that knew was our doctor."
>Ryan says, "That makes sense, I imagine." He pauses to think, then continues,
"You don't have to worry about his motives now, at any rate"
>Rachel says, "Apparently, the boss wanted to give her a fair chance to prove
herself. I can handle that."
>Ryan nods. "I haven't seen her in combat situations much, but what I have seen,
she's quite competent."
>Rachel nods. "Yes, she is. Very. Actually, I'm hoping her new belief in
herself will make her a little less reckless."
>Ryan smirks. "I wonder how much of it is programming, and how much is
experience? The fact she's sentient means she can learn skills on her own...
she's proved that quite well."
>Rachel says, "She's a demon in close combat, but she's also been careless with
her own life in the past. But that was before she believed in her personhood and
valued her life as the same as anyone else's. And her skills are all learned.
I've watched her develop them."
>Ryan says, "Fascinating... that suit of her's, Angel? What type of close-combat
weapons does it have installed? We might need to use them against those Metal
Demons..."
>Rachel says, "She has that big conbat blade it carries, plus the suit's strength
and what are called knuckle-bombers -- they're a shaped-charge system that fires
in combination with a punch. Also, her lasers can be used close-in.
Unfortunately, her heatbeam array was damaged in that fight against the
bat-winged creep."
>Ryan hmms. "Is it removeable without using heavy machinery?"
>Rachel says, "I doubt it. It's mounted beneath the chest armor."
>Ryan scratches his chin. "That's make it a lot harder to repair... Still
possible, I bet, but I doubt either you or her would want to hand the suit over
to a stranger."
>Rachel says, "Not a chance. I'd insist on us both being there the entire time."
>Eden has connected.
>Ryan nods. "And I don't have either the skills or the equipment for repairs like
that. How is the armor holding up?"
>Ryan is discussing with Rachel over breakfast.
>Eden sits up from the couch, looking around.
>Rachel asks, "Angel's armor is fine. Unlike my suit, its armor is
self-repairing. Experimental system. Oh, good morning, Eden. Want some
breakfast?"
>Rachel smiles at Eden.
>Eden smiles a little back. "Good morning. I'd like some, yes."
>Ryan nods. "That's gotta be handy... And the bacon is dee-lish."
>Rachel gets up and goes to the stove, and dishes out a plate for Eden. "We have
grapefruit juice and coffee, too."
>Eden puts the sheet aside, and puts her pants back on, having been wearing just
her shirt and panties beneath. She stands and walks over. "Thank you. How are
you?"
>Rachel asks, "Good. How are you? Sleep well?"
>Ryan says, jokingly, "Better have, that's a damn fine couch."
>Eden nods. "I did, yes." She sits, and begins eating her eggs. "You were talking
about the suits?"
>Rachel nods. "I was just giving Ryan the short-version tactical briefing on our
equipment."
>Eden nods.
>Ryan nods. "It may become important. I didn't have time to mention this last
night... you were too happy for me to spoil the mood... but Maruah came back."
>Eden says, "What happened?"
>Ryan shakes his head. "I'm not... judging by appearances alone, she recovered
Foil, but Foil is dangerously unstable. I, however, suspect something deeper is
going on... in either case, Maruah is to be considered a threat, for the time
being."
>Eden nods slowly. "All right..."
>Rachel (OOC) I need to head out. Assume I listen to Ryan explaining what
happened, and confirm it, then I go take a shower or something. See you in
30-45.
>Rachel has disconnected.
>Hardsuit Red falls asleep.
>Eden eats her eggs and some juice, but only picks at the bacon. "What should we
do next?"
>Ryan exhales. "Even though Maruah had a sword, I sincerely doubt it was Foil...
that would mean he's still trapped on Nova Pandemonium. It's more important to
track Maruah down and subdue her, though, if only to figure out what's going on."
He rubs the back of his neck. "I suspect she's being controlled... by an insane
Foil, or something more sinister... so lethal force shouldn't be used if
possible."
>Eden says, firmly, "I don't kill people."
>Ryan nods. "Just making sure..." He inhales, then continues, "But Maruah... or
whoever's controlling her... would seem to be willing to do so. Be careful."
>Eden nods. "I will, then."
>Ryan nods. "And consider Metal Demons to be hard targets... not like a tank or
something, but definately more resistant than human."
>Eden asks softly, "How difficult are they to injure?"
>Ryan scratches his cheek. "You've seen how strong I am... took forever to wear
Harken down, and she damn near killed me. I'd say, avoid hand-to-hand if you
aren't in your suit."
>Ryan gobbles down the last bit of his egg, and mentions, "Like the meal?
Rachel's a better cook then she claims to be. At least when making breakfast."
>Eden says, "Yes, she is. I've never had her cooking before."
>Ryan says, "Hell, even if it wasn't, she did go shopping for me... didn't need
to do that. Nice of her."
>Eden smiles a little. "That's good, then."
>Ryan smiles. "I'm just glad my present helped..."
>Eden nods. "Yes, it did...." She slips the bracelt off again to look at it
closely.
>Ryan stands up and takes his plate over to the sink. As he walks back to the
table he says, "I can get another one if you'd like... you mentioned you only
hand one, though, so I got a bracelet with one setting."
>Eden shakes her head. "You already gave me this, thank you."
>Ryan nods and smiles. Good thing, too... if he ends up having to rent a ship to
go to Nova Pandemonium, it'd tax his resources quite bit. "it sets off your eyes
nicely, I'd say." He sits himself back down at the table.
>Eden says, "Thank you." She puts the bracelet back on, fingering the materia set
in it. "I wonder if I can use other kinds....I bought this becuase I was told it
was easy to use."
>Ryan rubs the back of his neck. "I have no clue... never got all this magic
stuff. Might want to practice with that one a bit first, I guess."
>Eden says, "I will. It takes some effort to use it." She sets her hand back doen
again on the edge of the table, and finishes her juice.
>Ryan says, "From what I hear, it takes years of practice to do magic right. I
guess these thingies help, but I haven't tried it so... no comment."
>Rachel has connected.
>Hardsuit Red wakes up.
** Got bumped **
>Rachel comes back from the shower, toweling off her hair. She's dressed
similarly to before. but _has_ changed to a clean set of clothes from what she
brought in her pack on Friday.
>Eden says, "They are not doing magic in the same way as other sorts of mages
preactice it, I'm told. It's....a shortcut."
>Ryan nods. "I heard something like that... yeah..." He looks over as Rachel
walks back in. "Hiyah again."
>Rachel asks, "You're referring to the materia?"
>Ryan nods.
>Eden says, "Yes."
>Rachel says, "Yes, when I spoke to that Rydia girl about them, she seemed to
disapprove of them. I think she resents the idea that anyone can use one of them
to do what she says took her years of study."
>Ryan scratches the side of his head. "Yeah... but I guess an actual wizard
doesn't have to worry about his gear being taken away, though."
>Rachel says, "From what I've seen, that's true."
>Eden says, "It's an exchange, then."
>Ryan mmm-hmms. "Something along those lines."
>Ryan smiles, and comments, "Thanks for breakfast... that hit the spot."
watchfor vincent
>Eden nods to Rachel. "Thank you. I didn't know you could cook."
>Rachel says, "Nothing fancy, but simple breakfast things I can handle."
>Rachel says, "I had a craving for a real breakfast, so I slipped out and bought
the groceries for it while you were all still asleep."
>Ryan smirks. "Still, it's a nice gesture."
>Rachel says, "Well, I meant to cook for everyone all along, not just myself.
I'm glad you liked it."
>Eden nods.
>Ryan leans back in his chair, resting his arms around the back of the chair.
"Haven't been able to get through to Cloud, yet. Only one who hasn't been
informed of the situation..."
>Rachel asks, "What about Tifa?"
>Ryan shakes his head. "Same deal. Only need to reach one, they'll tell the
other, just have to get through. Apparently they aren't home at the moment."
>Rachel says, "We'll just have to keep trying, then. In the meantime, there _is_
something we should talk about."
>Ryan asks, "What, in specific?"
>Rachel asks, "The other night, when you were talking about sending a team up to
the Metal Demons' ship?"
>Ryan nods. "Yeah?"
>Rachel asks, "You seemed against the idea of either Eden or me going. Why?"
>Ryan rubs the back of his neck, but says, to the point, "i just don't like
seeing women walking into trouble. My old girlfriend used to do that ALL the
time..." He smirks for a moment, then says, "Yeah, I'm a chauvanist pig. So sue
me."
>Rachel smirks. "I'd rather reform you. It _can_ be cured, you know."
>Eden asks softly, "Is his caring about your well-being something to be upset
about?"
>Rachel smiles at Eden. "No, it's not. It's the reason for it I'm not happy
with."
>Ryan chuckles. "Seriously, though... these aren't the type of critters a normal
human should be taking on. It doesn't matter anymore... we'll probably be taking
a ship now, so bringing powered armor along is okay.... but I don't want to see
you try to take on Harken, or one of her lackeys, by yourselves."
>Rachel says, "Without my suit, I wouldn't consider it."
>Ryan nods. "Just wanted to make sure..."
>Eden says, "I'll be careful."
>Rachel nods. "I saw what she's capable of."
>Ryan sweatdrops. "Yeah... even I barely took her out, and that's only because
she was wounded to begin with. Talk about one cold b*tch..."
>Eden says, "I'll be safer with Angel."
>Rachel nods. "Either of us facing her without suits would be suicidal."
>Ryan nods, and sighs. "Luckily for me, I'm a tough bugger." He rubs the back of
his neck, and mentions, "Enough about that... we're getting all quiet and
depressed again, and I HATE that."
>Eden says, "I'm sorry. I'm usually quiet."
>Ryan smiles. "Hey, not your fault, just the situation at hand, y'know?"
>Rachel asks, "Well, to change the subject, any new thoughts concerning yourself,
Eden? That aren't too private to talk about, I mean?"
>Eden asks softly, "What do you mean?"
>Rachel asks, "Is there anything you want us to know about how you think about
yourself, now? Or any questions you want to ask?"
>Eden ohs. "I'm...not really sure what to ask....and, how I think about
myself....I'm alive now. I mean something, maybe."
>Ryan says, "This means you were alive before, too, y'know. It's not something
that happened overnight... it's a change in perception of yourself, maybe, but
not the reality."
>Rachel says, "And you mean something, period. No maybes allowed."
>Eden nods. "I know. But I wasn't always alive, not when I was made."
>Ryan rubs the back of his neck. "Oh?"
>Rachel asks, "You 'woke up' at some point, right?"
>Eden says, "No. It was different, then. I remember then, but it's a little
strange. I didn't feel anything, really. I mean, I sensed things, but it was just
that." She nods to Rachel.
>Ryan hmms. "I remember reading something about that... the spontaneous awakening
of neural networks. Of course, it's all theoretical at this point, but it sounds
likely from here..."
>Eden nods. "It didn't happen just all at once, I think...but it wasn't over a
very long period, either."
>Ryan thinks out loud, "A cascade effect of sorts... one thing led to another in
a rapidly increasing series."
>Eden nods slightly. "It was a few months before I left my owners that it
happened."
>Rachel looks thoughtful for a moment, then muses aloud, "Maybe 'woke up' isn't
the right term. 'Evolved' might be better..."
>Ryan rubs his chin. "Maybe, maybe not..." Looking at Eden, he asks, "Was that
one of the reasons why you left?"
>Eden says, "Maybe. I'm not sure what to call it. But....I started to feel
things. To...have opinions on what happened, more than I did before. And things
were easier to understand."
>Eden nods to Ryan. "Maybe that's why Dr. Stingray took me from them."
>Ryan nods. "Being programmed probably makes decisions easier... Dr. who?"
>Rachel lets Eden answer this one...
>Eden says, "Dr. Stingray. He's the man that took me from them, and took care of
me after." She smiles pleasantly, her expression lighter than you've likely seen
apart from last night, and continues. "He also made Angel, and the other suits,
and recruited the others."
>Ryan oh's. "Sounds like a smart fellow."
>Rachel says, "The man I mentioned earlier, Ryan."
>Ryan nods. "Gotcha."
>Eden whispers, "So you know OOC, he's not the Dr. Stingray from BGC, but rather
someone else entirely who used Dr. Katsuhito Stingray Jr. as an alias. I
personally don't know what his actual name was."" to you.
>Eden nods. "Yes, he is."
>Eden says, "He said then that he disapproved of their treatment of me."
>should eat breakfast in the evening more often..." He shakes his head, then
asks, "Mind if I ask what you were built for...? I mean, you sure don't look like
an industrial or military robot..." He sweatdrops and rubs the back of his neck.
"Sorry if that sounds a bit tactless..."
>Rachel winces...
>Eden says, quite matter-of-factly, "I was made for sexual purposes."
>Ryan sweatdrops again. Bigger, this time. "Oh. Um. Never mind."
>Eden nods slightly. "Okay."
>Rachel exhales...
>Ryan rubs the back of his neck . o O ( But why? Espionage...? ) Luckily, Ryan
doesn't say what's on his mind this time.
>Eden says, "I'm sorry if it makes you uncomfortable."
>Ryan holds his hands up. "Huh? No, it's, um, no big deal. I shouldn't've asked
anyway."
>Eden says, "Okay."
>Rachel asks, "So... What next?"
>Ryan taps his fingers on the table. "I... haven't got a clue. We can't do
anything until Maruah does something to let us know where she is."
>Eden nods.
>Rachel gets up and gathers up the dirty dishes. "And until then?" She stacks
them in the sink for Ryan to wash later. ^_-
>Ryan has a dishwasher, luckily. "I guess we find a way to waste time, eh?"
>Rachel asks, "Any suggestions?"
>Eden shakes her head slightly.
>Ryan might have some suggestions, but lets keep this PG, hmm? He bows his head,
apparently in thought, and furrows his brow. "There isn't exactly much to do in
this city."
>Rachel says, "It's kind of a quiet place, unfortunately. Except for when it's
not quiet in ways we'd rather it wasn't."
>Ryan sighs. "You have a point there..."
>Eden nods. "I don't mind quiet, though...."
>Ryan hmms, and nods. "Gives me time to plot expeditions. It's hard to find the
good treasure when you're getting into fights every other evening, y'know?" He
chuckles. "There's always that dance club... next best thing to hanging around
the 7th Heaven."
>Rachel says, "It's actually a nice place. I wouldn't mind going there again."
>Eden says, "I went there the other night, but it was really crowded."
>Ryan hmms, and looks up at the ceiling. "It's a bit late... but it probably
isn't very busy now; the holidays are over. What say I just buy you two a drink?"
>Eden says, "Okay."
>Rachel says, "Sounds good."
>Ryan stands up, not bothering to push his chair in. "Don't see any reason to
wait."
>Eden stands as well, pushing her chair in behind her.
>Rachel gets up, and asks, "Do we want to walk or ride?"
>Ryan shrugs. "Doesn't matter to me either way... riding's probaby better, it is
a bit chilly."
>Eden says, "It's only a block away."
>Ryan chuckles. "Okay, she has a point"
>Eden falls in line behind you.
>Rachel falls in line behind you.
>Rachel says, "That's right, I forgot how close we were to it."
>Ryan nods, and steps outside
>o
You step out the front door.
** Walk cut **
Reception Lobby
The loud, upbeat pounding music from the dance floor filters into the lobby,
greeting your ears with a rapid foot-tapping beat. Neon lights stating the name
of the crowded nightclub flash brightly, reading 'The Crimson Wolf' while below
it, in bright red neon lights, is the image of a growling wolf. You stand in the
lobby of the nightclub at the moment. The glass doors open back out to the
street, while on your immediate right is the counter where a punkish looking
woman is watching you. Two bouncers patrol the lobby area, while a third stands
near the staircase, which appears to lead up into the bar and grill. At the front
of the room is a karaoke stage, while to the left of that is an archway leading
towards the dance floor. Nearest to the karaoke stage are sets of chairs, benches
and tables for the patrons to sit at while watching the entertainment. A flight
of stairs lead up to the bar and grill for those who can't afford the more
expensive items in the restaurant located just off the lobby.
The band plays more mellow tunes, occasionally switching to alternative music or
vocals. From the clock on the wall, you can see that it is: 1:26 AM.
The room's not so crowded at the moment.

>Ryan arrives, with Eden and Rachel following behind.
>Ryan walks in. Judging from the lobby, it's a litle less crowded than it was
before, but there's certainly enough people around here to give the
pathologically shy fits.
>Luckily, Lyrae's not with us.
>Eden isn't pathologically shy, at least. She seems a bit uncomfortable at the
amount of noise, but otherwise not unhappy at all. She looks around curiously.
>Ryan heads towards the restaraunt section... its quieter there, and it's a tad
late to start dancing now.
>r
You head into the restaurant.
The bouncers watch you leave carefully.
Crimson Wolf: Restaurant
As you step into the room, the first thing you hear (and see) is the music coming
from the live musicians strolling around the room, and around the stage. Located
a good ten floors up, the windows give you a beautiful view of the city at night.
The lighting is dim to set a more romantic mood for couples, and the room is
decorated tastefuly in dark red carpeting and matching upholstery, with silver
wallpaper and black marble tables. Long plush red benches are placed on either
side of the tables around the perimeter of the restaurant, while the individual
tables are surrounded by six comfortable looking chairs each.
From the clock on the wall, you can see that it is: 1:31 AM

>Ryan arrives, with Eden and Rachel following behind.
>Eden (OOC) waahs. "Why are the bouncers watching me? I don't look like trouble!
;.;"
>Ryan (OOC) Look on the bright side, they might not have been watching your face
^_^ (Had to fit an ecchi comment in somewhere along the line tonight)
>Rachel (OOC) laughs. ^_^
>Rachel asks, "Want to sit by the windows?"
>Ryan smiles. "Don't see why not."
>Eden nods. "Yes, I would."
>Eden (OOC) ahhhs. "Of course."
>Rachel finds us a table with a good view. At this hour, probably not hard to
do.
>Ryan takes a seat next to Rachel, and promptly resumes lazing off, leaning back
in the seat.
>Eden sits opposite the two of you, looking out at the city outside.
>Rachel says, "The view from up here is so pretty..."
>Eden smiles. "Yes, I like it. It's a lot different than Osaka."
>A waiter walks up. "Sir, ladies, can I get you something?"
>Ryan blinks, not expecting to be served so soon. "Huh? Oh... um... yeah, just
something to drink... gin and coke'd be fine."
>The waiter turns to Eden. "And for you, Miss?"
>Eden says, "I would like the same, please."
>He then asks Rachel, who replies, "A screwdriver, please?"
>The waiter replies, "Very good. I'll be right back with those. Would any of
you like an appetizer?"
>Eden asks softly, "What do you recommend?"
>Ryan smirks. "A big 'ol plate of nachos. Extra salsa."
>"The potato skins are good," the waiter says to Eden.
>Eden says, "I will take those, then. No sour cream."
>Rachel asks, "Can we make that a large order, and we'll split them?"
>Eden nods.
>Ryan crosses his arms behind his head. Not the 7th Heaven, but it'll do.
>Eden waits patiently.
>The waiter returns with our orders, and places them on the table in fromt of us,
and gives us each a small plate and some silverware wrapped up in a napkin.
"Anything else right now?"
>Eden says, "No, thank you."
>Ryan smirks. "Nah, all set here."
>Rachel says, "Thaks, I'm fine for now."
>The waiter leaves our check, saying, "All right. Just let me know if you need
anything." And he heads off to see to other customers.
>Eden takes her drinks, and a potato skin.
>Ryan takes a nice long swig of his drink, blinking and shaking his head.
Moderation, Ryan, moderation...
>Rachel sips her screwdriver, and takes a potato skin. She takes a bite. "Mmmm,
not bad."
>Eden sips at her drink first, then eats the skin. She looks again out of the
window.
>Rachel grins at Ryan. "Penny for your thoughts?"
>Ryan blinks. "Hmm?" He pauses a moment, then smirks. "Just thinking how lucky I
am to be sitting next to two ravishingly beautiful ladies, hmm?"
>Rachel laughs. "Who, us?"
>Ryan looks around the room. "You do seem to fit the category."
>Ryan takes another sip of his drink ^_^
>Eden nods, turning back to you again, still eating quietly.
>Ryan takes another sip of his drink, and asks, rather silently, "Mind if I ask
you a question, Eden?"
>Eden asks softly, "What is it?"
>You mumble, "Do you... like... get drunk?" to Eden.
>Ryan mumbles, "..... ..... .. .. .. like .. .. .. ..... drunk .." to
Eden.
>Eden blinks at that. "I....can...but I have to be careful."
>Ryan raises an eyebrow. "Really? Go figure..."
>Eden says, "My brain is biological."
>Ryan nods. "I remember hearing something about that..." . o O ( High-tech
slavery, hmm? Gawd, the future must suck... )
>Eden says, "But....it takes more alcohol to affect me than it normally does a
human, and only a little more than that to render me unconscious."
>Ryan hmms, and says, with a genuine tone, "Fascinating..." Despite all his
greed, lust, and bravado, Ryan is a smart fellow... you've certainly piqued his
curiosity.
>Eden asks softly, "Is there anything else you want to know?"
>Ryan blinks. "Not... really, no." He takes another sip of his drink, glancing to
one side.
>Eden nods. "Okay."
>Ryan has a lot more questions, actually, but he's not about to make Eden into a
research specimen. That'd just be rude. Taking another swig of his drink, he
mentions, "I'll be heading back to my place in a bit... You two can hang around
here for a while if you'd like, I'll leave the door at my place unlocked if you
wanna head back there."
>Eden nods. "Okay...thank you for bringing us here." She smiles to Ryan.
>Eden (OOC) has been worse things than a research specimen, but you're right, it
would be rude. :)
>Ryan nods and smiles. "No sweat. Better than sitting around at home, I imagine."
>Eden nods.
>Ryan stands up, and stretches. "You girls have fun, hmm? Don't stay out TOO
late..."
>Eden says, "Good night, Ryan."
>o
You head into the lobby.
