Intersection: Thor/Tyr

This intersection is relatively nice, if not for the lingering darkness to the

west on Thor Street. Luckily, all the streetlamps here are replaced

regularly..any graffiti is cleaned up almost immediately..and a neighbourhood

police patrol keeps an eye out for any shifty and suspicious types wandering

about. To the east, Thor Boulevard is a much more lively and light

place..housing many people in small housing complexes, and a few larger,

upper-middle class homes. To the South, Tyr Road continues in that direction,

with a mixture of hotels and apartment buildings. To the north, it seems to

disperse at an obscure point..though a few eateries catering to myriad tastes

can be seen.

>Cloud hears footsteps, and turns his head, looking towards Ryan.

>Ryan (OOC) Is my timing divinely inspired or what?

>Cloud says, "(OOC) Personally, I'm inclined to say you were NOT sent by God.

>Ryan blinks . o O ( What do we have -here-...? )

>Cloud pulls back suddenly, embarrassed at being caught. "... Er... hi, Ryan."

>Tifa hears the noises, and her head literally SNAPS in Ryan's direction. O.O

Tyr Road [300]

The apartment buildings and hotels give way to smaller, less expensive and

privately owned buildings of like sort. Then those eventually dwindle to what

you find on either side of you now. Yes, various scents of delicious food of a

wide assortment of styles, flavours, and nationalities entices your olfactorial

senses..attempting to lure you in for a bite, or five. Make no mistake,

however. It doesn't come as cheap as those fast food places around southern

Tyr Road..though you'll definately appreciate the higher quality. At a point

up ahead, the road and street becomes an unpaved trail, towards the start of

the steep walls that the mountain atol surrounding Midgaard creates. A deep

gorge carved by forces long forgotten and lost to legend is to the west

here..and a suspension bridge has been erected so that pedestrians might take a

stroll across it to Sif Way to the east, and marvel at it.

>Red motoroid glances at Ryan. "Get to cover. NOW."

>Ryan strolls in from the south (dashes in, actually, but he slows down...),

wearing, of all things, combat fatigues and a massive frame backpack. Go figure.

>Weltall's head jerks slightly, and it quickly charges towards Crescens.

However, if you watch carefully, you would notice that it is not in an

offensive motion.. He isn't preparing to attack. He is determined to *help*

the pilot.

>You see four gears (or, eva-like mechas) and lots and lots of damage, Ryan. ^_^;

>Ryan does so. Drops the backpack, and a good backflip later, he's on top of a

handy lamppost. "What the...?"

>Renmazuo advances upon the fallen gear, kneeling beside it as it turns its head

toward Weltall, its pilot asking, "What do we do?"

>Alex (OOC) would not call them eva-like, since evas are in excess of 30-stories

tall.

>Crescens's pilot offers no reply over the communication system. Although the

gear is in one piece, it looks quite worse for wear, and a little charred.

>Ryan . o O ( Crimminy, I leave on expedition for a few days, and what happens?

Cloud and Tifa making out, robots running through the streets... you'd think

this place was Atlanta!? )

>Alex . o O ( Not Atlanta... East Point. )

>Weltall (OOC) True...Evas are too small. ^_^;

>Ryan . o O ( I just hope the gold doesn't get damaged >.< )

>Criminy! Forgot to have the gears fitted with fire extinguishers...

>Alex (OOC) was playing the game earlier... Gears were no larger thean 2-3

stories.

>Renmazuo (OOC) nods at that. Not that huge, us.

>Weltall quickly tries to pat its hands over the 'enemy' gear in order to put

the fire out all about it... "Help me get the fire out, okay?" the pilot asks.

>Ryan . o O ( Well, not much I can do now. Might as well enjoy the show n.n )

>Weltall (OOC) Actually...compare the size of the character and the gear. Stand

beside it. ^_^;;;;

>Red motoroid's fans deploy, spinning up with a whine. A half-second later, the

unit's jumpjets fire, and it's airborne, streaking toward the much larger

units. Its loudspeaker booms, "RESCUE ASSISTANCE -- DO NOT FIRE. HOW MAY I

AID YOU?"

>Ryan rubs his shoulder . o O ( Damn I need a shower... this camo paint gets

itchy after a while. )

>Alex runs his fingers through his headfur as he watches the odd scene.

>Vierge, it's pilot not quite knowing what to do, simply looks onward..

>Renmazuo turns toward the red motoroid to repeat what Weltall instructed it to

do. "Help us with the fire, please." Compartments above its wrists open up to

spray a thin (comparatively) stream of foam on the burning sections. (The Ethos

got -all- the cool stuff! n.nV)

>Ryan, seeing as how he can't do much here, leaps back down to the street to

fetch his bag, and head for the bar. Assuming the bar is still standing c.c

>Ryan peeks his head out the door . o O ( They still at it? )

>Renmazuo nods its head once, "If you could, please."

>Crescens is now a smoldering pile of broken mech, actually. n.n;

>Actually, they're quieted down. Weltall and Renmazuo crouch next to a fallen

Crescens, while Vierge watches on.

>Red motoroid OOC doesn't know what series you're from or what these things look

like. How obvious is the pilot's compartment?

>Weltall (OOC) Its not that obvious, honestly. x.x; They do look like Evas at

least, in the way where they look, er, "humanoid", so to speak. Well,

mechanical as well. :) And, we are from the new RPG, Xenogears. ^_-

>Renmazuo says, "(OOC) Well, the chest kinda opens up. It's not readily apparent

at a distance, but it might lend itself to obviousness once you got close. Plus

you've probably got some scanning stuff in your suit that'd help."

>Red motoroid lands atop the smoldering wreck, alighting with surprising

gentleness for something so bulky. As it does, the previously-deployed railgun

re-stows itself as a meter-long blade extrudes from the right forearm and

begins emitting a high-pitched hum. The unit starts carefully cutting into the

charred armor, seeking to free the pilot.

>Weltall's head jerks at the red motoroid, and then it stands back afterwards.

It probably has a better chance of getting through the armor than this gear

does.. Well, in time, that is.

>Red motoroid . o O ( Biggest damn battlemovers I've ever seen... )

>Crescens' external layer of armor is cut away, and smoke issues forth from the

pilot's compartment. If you're looking close, there's some silvery mercury-like

stuff smeared across the instrument panel, and an unconscious pilot. Very..

erm.. small pilot.

>Weltall's head jerks at the pilot slightly, as the pilot speaks in shock out

from the gear, "Wha..what the? No... it.. it can't be." The pilot just

_stares_ outside of the gear towards the child.

>Red motoroid ignores the silvery stuff, assuming it's from some ruptured system

or another. It stands, and its front armor pivots open, more fully revealing

the partly-enclosed armored figure within.

>Hardsuit Red undocks from the red motoroid.

>Hardsuit Red has arrived.

>Ryan . o O ( Well, this is interesting )

>Hardsuit Red separates from the motoroid and crouches next to the opening in

the pilot's compartment, the human-sized suit being far more suited to

something as delicate as lifting the pilot free. Any restraining harness is

quickly ripped free, and the ahrdsuited figure gingerly lifts the pilot out.

>Ryan . o O ( I'd give a hand... but she seems to have it. Hrmm. )

>Emeralda lies unconscious like a rag doll in the mech's hand. There's no

mistaking it, from Fei's point of view.. it's the little green-haired girl from

the Zeboim-Era lab.

>Renmazuo's chest breaks open along the seams as it crouches down as low as it

can. A blue-clad figure emerges from the machine and leaps down into the gear's

extended hand, from there to its leg, and then the ground.

>A loud gasp can be heard from Vierge....

>Billy rushes across the ground to stop just in front of Crescens. "Bring her

down here! I can help her!" he calls up to the armored figure.

>Weltall's eyes blink again, as he suddenly sees something else though. In his

eyes, he *sees* the lab, and the child...in the tube once more. Someone, who

looks alot like himself, but isn't, in a scientific trenchcoat...Looking over

her briefly. He sees.... images from the past...but, another past.. But, from

others point of view, he is just _staring_ towards the girl.

>Alexander has left.

>Hardsuit Red says, "She needs medical attention. There's a hospital to the

south. I'll take her there."

>Billy shakes his head. "I can help her -now-! They'll take too long!"

>Alexander comes out of the 7th Heaven Bar.

>Billy is probably making the situation out to be worse than it is. He wasn't

expecting to find that a little girl in had piloted the enemy gear though. He's

assuming the worst about her health.

>Emeralda did bleed on the instrument panel, so she's not exactly feeling peachy.

>Hardsuit Red jumpjets down to the street, landing carefully so as to not jolt

the girl any more than necessary. "Then get over here. Now."

>Billy doesn't need any coaxing to comply. The second the hardsuit touches down,

he's there to place his hand upon the child's forehead. Rather than do anything

remotely resembling first aid or even an examination of her wounds, he bows his

head and mumbles..seeming to pray over her.

>Alex leans against the building, watching. . o O ( Seems that in this world I

am redundant. Guess I should prepare to move on. )

>Oddly enough, somebody answers back. A wave of white radiance rises from the

ground to encircle the three of them (by virtue of Billy and the hardsuit's

proximity to Emeralda), enveloping them in secondhand warmth as the holy light

works to restore the girl's injured body.

>Emeralda would probably *bite* Billy's hand if she were awake.. but she only

stirs slightly, her wounds closing up and fading.

>Hardsuit Red . o O ( What the...? )

>Alex hisses, the fur that is visible standing on end.

>Ryan . o O ( Cripes, how many wizards we got in this town? )

>Billy isn't a wizard, he's a priest, thanks. Not that this discussion is

actually occuring but if it were, one would find the matter to be a point of

contention with him. Eeenyway..

>Alex quicky draws his trenchcoattighter about his body, watching the display of

healing magic. . o O ( How close am I to ground zero? Am I outside the

influence? )

>It's a rather specific effect, healing only the one(s) being 'targeted' by it.

It's the lightshow that hits whoever happens to be touching them, and that's

just pretty colors.

>Suddenly, Weltall's cockpit snaps open as well as Fei steps out

slowly...staring at the child.. He then moves on towards where the child, and

Billy, is. He looks down on towards her...not moving...not saying anything..

>Alex has reason to be paranoid of any healing magic effects, moving away from

the light.

>Emeralda is now all in one piece, it seems. The magic, combined with her own

regeneration, was speedy. The explosion did, however, pack a wallop, so she's

still out cold.

>Hardsuit Red still cradles the girl, and asks, "Any of you care to explain what

that was all about, and why you picked the middle of a city to have your rumble

in?"

>Ryan . o O ( Well, now that they're outta those mechs, it should be easy enough

to stop 'em if they try something now, at least. )

>Billy looks into the hardsuit's faceplate as though challenging the accusation

eye-to-eye. "We didn't -choose- anything. We were just as surprised to wind up

here as you were to see us arrive. Where are we, anyway?"

>Vierge's pilot decides to exit the cock pit at this point as well, and does so,

jumping down from stepping plate to stepping plate, finally to the ground, and

then running over to the other two. o.o;

>Hardsuit Red says, "It's a place called Midgaard. City fathers apparently had

a Norse gods fetish."

>Fei just continues to look towards the child.. A feeling of sorrow, yet

familiarity seems to overwhelm him. Guilt too.. yes, guilt for fighting

against a small child.. He never intended to harm her.

>Billy totally misses any reference to Nordic deities, but simply nods once he

hears the city's name. He repeats it under his breath as though trying to place

it in his geographical specturm. A shake of his head indicates failure to do so.

>Elly carefully kneels down by the girl, and looks at her, concernedly. "Billy,

will she be okay?"

>Billy nods tensely. "She should be..She just needs rest now."

>Fei murmurs under his breath, as he steps forward, "She will be..." He looks

over towards Elly, "I don't know why... but I feel it... However, when I look

at her... for some reason I feel some great sadness as well.." He then looks on

over towards the child once more. Not understanding some of his emotions.

Then, did he ever? No...

>Hardsuit Red says, "You seem awfully concerned about someone you were just

shooting at."

>Fei closes his eyes slowly, and sighs. "We... have been through alot."

>Billy sighs heavily, and then attempts to clarify. "She was taken from us

and..influenced by our enemies. We didn't even know it was her until you saved

her...But we did know that whoever was piloting that gear didn't need to die

this way."

>Hardsuit Red asks, "So she's one of yours, then?"

>Elly looks down, not really at the girl, but at the ground...and even then, not

looking at it, but moreso looking through it, at nothingness.."Just a child.."

>Emeralda (OOC) glomps herself to Fei. "Daddy~!" n.n;

>Fei (OOC) eeps at Emmy. n.n;;;;

>Ryan (OOC) ...

>Alex (OOC) blinks

>Fei (OOC) Long story. ^_^;;;; o.o;;;; . o O ( And, I'm NOT explaining it in

detail. x.x; )

>Elly (OOC) glomps herself to Fei as well. "Pimp Daddy!" ...er...o_o;

>Fei (OOC) @.@ at Elly.

>Ryan (OOC) ...

>Emeralda (OOC) looks at the gawking crowd. "But he *is*!"

>Billy nods. "She is. I..apologize for.." He gestures behind him, at everything

their battle has wrought. "..this. It wasn't supposed to happen. We aren't even

supposed to be here."

>Alex . o O ( Seems everyone has that excuse. )

>Hardsuit Red nods. "I understand. There's a lot of that going around lately."

>Fei nods slowly afterwards, as he then looks away right after. He frowns, as

he says in a soft tone, "At least we can finally stop fighting. Now that

Solaris is no longer a problem of ours." Yet he does not look back to anyone

after, he just _stares_ away...to some single point, or star, in the distance.

>Ryan . o O ( Mental note: figure all this out LATER. )

>Billy only turns to look at Fei long enough to ask, "Do you think--?" Then he

blinks and looks back to the hardsuit. "Have you ever heard of a place called

Solaris?"

>Fei (OOC) After playing the game all the way through, I am still trying to

figure out some of the stuff, so good plan Ryan. ^_-

>Ryan (OOC) hasn't even played it yet   c.c;

>Hardsuit Red replies, "No, I'm afraid not. Only Solaris I know of is an OS."

>Fei (OOC) is probably only confusing you further, then. ;) *shuts up and hops

back IC*

>Billy nods, "So you've never seen machines like ours, either?"

>Hardsuit Red shakes her head. "No. Not that big, anyway. And not that

technology."

>Elly scoots over to Fei, and gently rests a hand on his

shoulder...comfortingly, and silently.

>Alex has seen machines like these before... And ones even larger than them...

On many different worlds...

>Hardsuit Red says, "Closest things I've seen have been in movies."

>Fei just continues to look off towards a distance, not saying a word. He then

blinks as Elly sets a hand on his shoulder, and he slowly looks back towards

her. Yet, silence still overcoming him...but, Elly of all people, may

understand the look in his eyes. Reflecting each emotion he feels now. . o O (

Elly.... )

>Billy inclines his head to ponder this, nodding silently. "We really have

gone..far. Haven't we?" He looks over his shoulder to Fei and Elly for a

moment. "We're completely lost." It's not good news, but he decides to be the

one to spell it out for them anyway.

>Hardsuit Red says, "Lot of that going around lately, too."

>Ryan . o O ( I have GOT to find some sort of supporting evidence for my

'transdimensional trash heap' theory about this place o.= )

>You calling me 'trash'? See if _you_ get any more, Ryan! ^_-

>Alex (OOC) tosses Ryan his Temporal Slipstream Travel Orb.

>;_;

>Billy crosses his arms as he nods, then uncrosses them as he asks, "Can you

hand her to me? She's our problem. We'll take care of her. We're also going to

move these things out of the street.." He glances up at his gear, then back to

the hardsuited figure carrying Emeralda.

>Elly remains silent, still looking at Fei..understandingly? Compassionately?

It's hard to tell, for anyone but the two of them. Above all, though, it's

obvious that she's trying to be comforting and reassuring.

>Hardsuit Red carefully hands the unconscious girl to Billy. "Careful..."

>Fei looks towards Elly for a few more moments, as he himself stays silent. He

then nods towards her, as he places his own hand upon hers after. He then

moves to look on over towards Billy, "Where can we take the gears to, then?"

>Billy nods, cradling the small form in arms well accustomed to the proper

holding of a child. He turns with her toward Fei and shrugs. "I don't know yet.

Let's put them somewhere out of the way for now and figure out the rest once we

decide what to do with ourselves."

>Hardsuit Red points at the 7th Heaven. "There's a good bar over there if you

want to sit and recover a little. As far as those things go, I'm not sure.

Maybe you could park them in the gorge over there?"

>Emeralda is still dangling like a rag-doll when being passed from one person to

the next, apparently she's not going to be any trouble for a while.

>Fei nods slowly afterwards, and then he looks on over towards the hardsuit,

then back towards Billy after. "That may be a good temporary idea, until we

find a better place to put them."

>Billy says, "Let's get them moved before we do anything else. Fei, help me

carry hers." A nod indicates Emeralda, and then he looks up at Renmazuo, who

reacts by reaching down to place one hand where it can be stepped into.

>Ryan is still in the doorway to the bar, but will get out of the way (or chip

in) if asked...

>Hardsuit Red looks toward the motoroid, which jumpjets down off the carcass of

the fallen mech.

>Fei nods slowly as well, as he looks over towards Elly. He forces a soft smile

towards her, as he says, "Well... Lets get this over with... And, then get

something to eat, allright?" He then moves on over towards his gear as well

afterwards.

>Alex is standing beside the doorway, face expressionless, unless you knew how

to read such a strange face.

>Emeralda (OOC) sniffles. "I JUST got that thing serviced, too..."

>Fei (OOC) finally is free from Weltall! FREE! FREE AT LAST! *_*

>Elly watches Em, sadly..."Poor girl.."

>Billy is raised up to his gear's chest as it stands. He spends a moment

arranging Emeralda in the cockpit and then settles inside as well, prompting

Renmazuo's chest to close back up.

>Fei steps into Weltall afterwards, and the cockpit shuts behind him as the gear

begins to stand straight in its place.

>Weltall moves its heads over towards the childs gear a moment later, before it

bends down to get ready to lift the machine up. Of course, since the gear is

slightly damaged, he doesn't push its strength...The pilot waits for Billy and

his gear to get ready.

>Elly is too lazy to make the bloody long pose of gear removal, assume that it's

been done, please, and she only has 15 minutes left on here.

>Red motoroid gets airborne again to get out of the way, and flies off to the

south.

>Renmazuo moves to assist in the relocation of fallen Crescens. They..relocate

it. Yay. :)

>Emeralda's gear is remarkably light, as far as gears go... just a little

awkwardly shaped to carry or drag.

>Motoroid Red leaves south.

>Hardsuit Red waits for the mecha to go out of sight into the gorge, and then

jumpjets into an open second-story window over the bar.

>Ryan steps back into the bar as soon as things start to clear up, to ponder

what the hell happened, later O_o

>Alex looks up to the window the red suit jumped into.

>Billy leaves, with Emeralda following behind him.

>Alexander has arrived.

>Alex walks back behind the bar.

>Ryan puts his backpack down on the table. It lands with a *WHUD*, nearly

cracking the wooden surface. Has to easily be a few hundred pounds...

>Alex reaches into the refridgerator underneath the bar, taking out a bottle of

spring water.

>Alex takes a sip of his water.

>Ryan wipes his forehead, commenting quietly to himself, "A guy leaves for a few

days, and then this stuff happens..."

>Alex says, "Seems to be status quo in this world."

>Ryan hmmphs. "Damn straight."

>Alex shrugs, sipping at his water.

>Rachel has arrived.

>Alex nods to Rachel from behind the bar. "Situation diffused?" he asks

>Ryan sits at a table, wiping his forehead, still in camo gear. His backpack

rests on the table, and seems to have cracked it a little when he put it down

(don't tell Tifa!)

>Rachel comes back downstairs. She nods to Alex. "I need a drink. Gimme a

pint of Prior dark."

>Ryan blinks, looking over at Rachel. "He working here too?"

>Rachel says, "More or less."

>Alex nods to Rachel, taking down a pint mug, examining the array around the

bar, seeing it is on draft, pouring some, making sure the head is just right

before handing it to Rachel. "So, when should I tell the proprietess I have

taken over bartending duties?"

>Ryan closes his eyes and chuckles. "Sheesh, half the city works here." With

that, he leans forward a little to unfasten the buckles on the pack, causing

the flap to fip open, and a pile of... gold? to fall on the floor O_o

>Rachel takes her pint and goes to sit with Ryan. "Where've _you_ been? You

had us all worried."

>Rachel grins wearily at Alex. "Just turn in a time card and let her wonder."

>Alex nods slightly, taking up his bottle of spring water.

>Ryan sweatdrops, waving dismissively. "Just on a little excursion into the

Amazon. Woulda told ya, but my calculations said that the temple's treasury was

only open 5 days every 12 years. Bit of a rush, y'see..." He grins like an

idiot.

>Rachel says, "Looks like you got there in time."

>Alex takes up an old glass, starting to clean it with a towel.

>Ryan cackles to himself. "Damn straight. Got about 500 pounds of gold trinkets

in here... makes it all worthwhile, y'know?"

>Rachel seems to take the gold in stride. She certainly doesn't seem to be

looking at it with anything vaguely like greed.

>Rachel asks, "And how dangerous was it?"

>Ryan sits up, examining a few necklaces of distinct Aztec style. "Not very.

Just some undead, piece of cake, though Peru didn't take kindly to be popping

in unannounced." He rambles on, "Another country to scratch off my list..."

>Alex holds the glass up to the light, turning it, watching how the light

refracts within, then setting it in the rack with the rest of the glasses.

>Ryan holds up a necklace, from which dangles a diamond roughly the size of a

large lemon O_o

>THAT gets Rachel's attention, if for no other reason than she didn't think

anything that huge existed. She blinkblinks.

>Ryan smirks. "Think this one's big, shoulda seen the one Penny got in the

arctic a few months back. About 5' long."

>Rachel says, "You must be joking..."

>Ryan holds his up to the light. "Pretty low quality, though. All sorts of

cracks and microfractures..." He blinks at Rachel's comment, replying, "Do I

look like I'm lying?"

>Alex thinks a moment. "For that size it could not have formed naturally on this

world. Most likely a planetary core fragment. I would advise checking for

levels of radiation."

>Ryan shakes his head. "Already did, it's quite clean."

>Rachel looks at Alex. "Thank you, Mr. Spock."

>Alex says, "Then you got lucky." He turns to Rachel. "Spock?"

>Rachel says, "Never mind..."

>Ryan . o O ( Well, the one Penny got already had an owner, but... )

>Alex shrugs, taking up another glass to clean.

>Ryan bends over to pick up some of the spilled pieces. Gets you thinking,

gold's rather heavy, and he has a backpack full of the stuff. Dang guy must be

an ox O_o He looks up, at Rachel, "Hey, want a few pieces?"

>Eden has arrived.

>Eden hurries in, looking around.

>Ryan, dressed in camoflague, sits at a table with a backpack full of gold. No,

I'm not making this up.

>Alex nods to Eden. "Irashaimase."

>Rachel is sitting at the table with Ryan.

Eden

This girl stands off to one side of the gathering, demurely, not

quite timidly. She is young, no more than 17 or 18, and stands some

157cm(5'2"). Her hair, which falls thick and straight down her back

almost to her knees, is light brown and her distant, guarded eyes are

the blue of faded denim. She has a certain presence, an aura almost,

an impression of helplessness and of stricken innocence. She watches

what is happening around her, looks at the people nearby, but she keeps

a distance from it all, whether physical or metaphorical, seeming

always the outsider.

Eden is currently dressed very simply, in a long-sleeved white T-

shirt, dark grey pants, and simple white canvas shoes. The clothes are

loose-fitting, comfortable-looking, but not so much that they

completely obscure her slim but relatively generous figure, or her

precise grace of movement. She seems a young angel, a point of purity

trapped among shadows.

Kigou's Flute, and A slim ivory flute

*** Eden notices you watching ***

>Rachel says, "Hello, Eden."

>Eden asks softly, "Did Skuld come in here?"

>Alex asks, "Who?"

>Ryan blinks at eden's question. "Hmm? Didn't see her."

>Ryan . o O ( She's one of those girls from the church, right...? )

>Eden says, "A young girl with dark hair and marks on her forehead."

>Rachel asks, "I thought she died?"

>Eden shakes her head.

>Rachel says, "That's what that older relative of hers told me."

>Eden says, "It seems she was mistaken."

>Ryan rubs the back of his neck. "Eh? Died? Huh?"

>Rachel says, "I'm glad to hear that, then. But I haven't seen her."

>Eden says, "Oh..." She turns back to look out the door.

>Ryan sits up, dropping the obscene amount of precious metal to the side for the

moment. "Something up?"

>Eden says, "She ran this way. Derek and I were following her."

>Ryan rubs the back of his neck. "Go fig."

>Alex shrugs, setting the clean glass on the rack.

Alexander

Before you stands Alexander Kramer, the head of security for Drake

Enterprises. He is wearing his standard uniform, neatly-pressed black slacks

with a white turtleneck covered by a black trenchcoat. The symbol for Drake

Security is pinned to the lapel of the trenchcoat. The hilt of a sword is

visible at his waist on the right-hand side, with a shoulder holster above

it. On his feet he wears strange mocassins, since his legs have three joints

and he walks on the pads of his feet. Peeking out from behind the coat is a

black and gray striped tail, the fur of which matches the hair on his head.

His ears are pointed, resting atop his furred head, and light grey whiskers

come out of his cheeks. He sees you looking at him and smirks, his lip

curling to show sharp fangs, his emerald eyes flashing as they catch the

light. He rests his hand on the hilt of the sword, observing you...

Carrying:

>Ryan glances over his shoulder at the current bartender. "You seen 'em?"

>Alex shakes his head. "Never before on this world. On other worlds I have seen

similar individuals, but without more information I cannot conclude if they

would be similar."

>Ryan hmms. "Go fig. And get me a beer." Judging from his load, he'll probably

be offering HUGE tips c.c

>Alex nods to Ryan, serving up a pint of Prior dark for the gentleman as well,

carrying it over to the table.

>Ryan nods to Alex. "Thanks." He tosses you a ruby-studded gold band.

>Eden looks curiously over to all the gold.

>Alex examines the band. "1.25 to 3 carats per gem, gold quality in the 18 to 24

carat range..."

>It looks like gold. And gems. Mostly as South-American Indian style jewlry.

>Ryan looks over at Rachel. "Hey, want a trinket before I sell all this? It's

probably not cursed."

>Alex examines the jewelry. "No apparent aura of mysticism about the trinket...

But some curses are insinuative in nature, and not apparentto casual scans."

>Ryan glances over at Alex. "Thanks, Merlin."

>Rachel . o O ( Who IS he...? )

>Ryan looks back at Rachel. "So, whattaya say?" He holds up that necklace with

the BIG diamond, and grins like an idiot.

>Rachel says, "Um, if you want to part with one, Ryan, I wouldn't refuse it."

>Alex looks to Ryan. "A magician in old Earth mythology.... You are mistaken."

>Ryan mumbles something about not having a prayer of selling all this at one

time anyway

>Rachel doesn't seriously think you're offering that one.

>Eden asks softly, "Is that real?"

>Ryan glances at Alex. He looks back at Rachel, and the bag, digging through it

a bit, before looking over at Eden. "Ayup." Diamond is the size of a lemon, or

maybe a lime. Or some sort of sour produce.

>Eden says, "That is a lot...."

>Ryan grins like an idiot. "Darn tootin'. I'm expecting 5 mil easy."

>Ryan . o O ( There is an advantage to being a treasure hunter, yes indeedy. )

>Eden nods.....

>Eden . o O ( I think that's as much as our whole debt.... )

>And you wondered how Ryan manages to afford all this crap O_o

>Rachel briefly considers a change of profession, from 'Combat Bartender' to

'Kept Woman of Indy Wannabe' -- RICH Indy Wannabe, that is... ^_-

>Alex (OOC) smirks

>Ryan will have to have Penny show you the one she got from the Arctic sometime,

ayup...

>Eden, if it matters, considers no such thing, if maybe not for the reasons

you'd imagine. She does seem mildly fascinated by the jewels, though.

>Ryan looks back at Rachel. "Well, made up your mind yet?" (OOC: Hell, you got

anything in mind, it's probably in there c.c )

>Rachel says, "You pick. You know what you're willing to part with."

>Ryan hrmms, as he rummages through a backpack full of gold. Only in his series,

folks. He eventually pulls out a nice wristband, studded with a few emeralds.

"You like?"

>Alex slips the armband into this jacket pocket, returningto the bar. "Does

anyone require anything else?"

>Ryan, just for the record, is NOT an Indy wannabe. He's WAY cooler then THAT

loser.

>Eden says, "I would like an iced tea, please."

>Alex nods to Eden, rumaging beneath the bar for a pot of tea he saw earlier,

pouring some over ice in a glass. "Lemon?" he asks

>Rachel looks at it, and nods. "It's beautiful."

>Eden says, "Yes, please."

>Ryan gently tosses it at you, in a high arc. "Here ya go." With that, he

finally starts on his beer.

>Alex nods, squeezing a wedge of lemon into the tea, then setting another wedge

on the rim, taking the glass to Eden.

>Eden says, "Thank you." She sips at her tea, looking over to Rachel.

>Alex steps back behind the bar.

>Rachel catches the wristband, and examines it closely.

>"Made in Taiwan"?

>It looks like your everyday stolen artifact, ayup.

>'Made in El Dorado'

>Alex reaches into the refridgerator, taking out another bottle of spring water.

>Ryan rubs his chin, taking a long swig of his drink. While you're occupied with

the sparklies, he asks, "What the hell was going on outside, anyway?"

>Eden says, "I think I saw people fighting a demon."

>Rachel says, "New arrivals, apparently."

>Ryan hmms. "That all?" He meant the giant mechs stomping around before, but one

thing at a time.

>Rachel says, "Four big mecha and their pilots."

>Rachel says, "They seem to've just 'arrived' here with no warning, same as Eden

and I did."

>Ryan takes another swig. "Busy night. Any major damage?"

>Alex says, "Only to the environment."

>Eden asks softly, "Mecha?"

>Ryan comments, "Apparently."

>Rachel says, "Biggest damned battlemovers I've ever seen. Like something out

of a movie."

>Ryan shrugs. "Seen bigger. Just not in one place."

>Eden says, "Oh...that sounds bad."

>Ryan shrugs again. "Didn't see most of it, but it sounds like a good

assessment."

>Rachel says, "They were fighting, three on one, until the one went down. I

helped them peel the pilot out of it. She was this young girl."

>Alex thinks back. "About the right size for certain types of city work...

Better used in battlefield conditions."

>Ryan takes a long swig before asking, "Any heavy weapons slung around?"

>Eden says, "Maybe I should pilot Angel more often."

>Rachel says, "We still need to get those repairs done, too, Eden."

>Eden nods.

>Ryan shrugs. "Nah, these little bits of random insanity seem to come and go."

This from the guy with a few hundred ounds of gold sitting in front of him c.c

>Rachel answers Ryan, "Yes. Some HMGs, and some other stuff I didn't

understand. It almost looked like the mechs were doing magic, bizarre as it

sounds."

>Eden says, "Who was supposed to do it?" She frowns at Ryan with suprising

intensity. "A lot of people are hurt or killed by them."

>Ryan hrmms. "Magic? THAT is unusual... don't see mechs doing wizard stuff

too..."

>Alex would say that it is not unusual, having seen it before, but refrains from

doing so.

>Ryan rambles to himself, "Most folks at least got the decency to stick to one

or the other, y'know?"

>Eden asks softly, "How can a mecha do magic?"

>Ryan hrrms. "Probably the pilot. Maybe the machine has some kinda focuser, or

something..."

>Alex says, "Focusing elements, power system integration, pilot control setup,

amout of biolinkage and construction and design of the mecha itself."

>Rachel says, "Whatever. After the fight was over, the three pilots on the

winning side were clearly shocked to see who their oppo was. Seems she's one

of their side that was brainwashed or something."

>Ryan raps his fingers on the table. "... Not a good sign."

>Alex shrugs again, cleaning a glass.

>Eden nods...

>Rachel says, "She was hurt, but the one pilot did some kind of magic that

healed her."

>Ryan rubs his chin. "... If it weren't somebody else's business, i'd be askin'

a LOTTA questions right now."

>Rachel says, "They were heading off to park the mechs down in the gorge when

they left. I suspect we'll see them in here soon enough, the next day or two."

Eden nods slowly.

>Ryan nods, and sighs. "Well, at least things seem interesting." He wonders if

he should mention him catching Cloud and Tifa making out, but decides to

maintain at least a LITTLE tact.

>Yeah, the only real question is how many of them will end up woking here. ^_-

>All of 'em. Natch.

>Woody will be out of a job soon. ;.;

>Only reason Alexander started working here was that no one was ever running

the bar.

>Ryan rubs the back of his neck, exhaling. He looks over at Rachel and Tifa.

"Aside from the rampaging demon and/or mecha, what've you two been up to?"

>Ryan (OOC) EDEN, not TIFA

>Alex (OOC) chuckles

>Rachel asks, "You mean besides chasing off the demon that came in here,

yesterday? Or that Lina girl almost blowing the place up last night?"

>Ryan blinks. "Come again?"

>Eden has hair of roughly the same length, but is shorter, has a bit smaller

proportions, and has never been seen in a black leather miniskirt. "I have been

working...and avoiding being killed."

>Well, we can change that last part ;)

>Ryan raises his eyebrow. "I hate missing things... killed by who, what?"

>Eden says, "I keep coming upon fights in the streets. I don'tlike this...."

>Ryan rubs the back of his neck, sweatbeading. "You moved to the wrong city if

you don't like stuff like that..."

>Eden says, "I was not asked."

>Alex says, "Neither was I."

>Ryan raps his fingers on the table . o O ( Cripes, who's been going around

stealing peoples' senses of humor? )

>Eden . o O ( I ever had one? (OOC) )

>Ryan coughs, then continues. "... Anyway. Stuff like this seems to be rather

common these days, so the best you can do is be prepared, eh?"

>Rachel says, "Ryan, there's one more thing that's happened you should know."

>Eden nods.

>Ryan raises his eyebrow. "Eh?"

>Rachel says, "Lyrae's been kidnapped. By that same goon we fought before, in

the lobby of your building."

>Ryan LEAPS to his feet. "WHAT!?"

>Eden blinks. "She has?"

>Ryan asks the other questions. "WHEN!? HOW?!"

>Rachel says, "Yesterday. I don't know the details."

>Rachel says, "A lot of people have been trying to track the creep down ever

since. So far, nothing."

>Ryan clenches his fists, as he slams the table. Bad plan; what with the massive

amount of weight already on it, it cracks quite nicely in half. Not that Ryan

seems to mind now. "DAMMIT! I thought she was staying in the woods!?"

>Ryan blinks . o O ( There's still the tracking device I put in her cell

phone... it might not work now, but it might be the only shot... )

>Alex sets the clean glass back in the rack.

>Rachel leaps back out of her chair to avoid having a table-chunk- or

lot-of-gold-induced broken leg.

>Ryan rubs his temples. "Why oh WHY does she always end up in trouble!?"

>Rachel sits again, propping her feet on the rubble. "I don't know. It's a

habit I'd like to break her of."

>Eden thankfully is at the next table. She may have missed a lot of the massive

destruction lately, but she at least gets to watch the portable-sized home

game.

>Ryan clenches his teeth, slamming his fist into his open palm. "I MIGHT be able

to track her down, but it'll take a few hours, at least."

>Eden asks softly, "Do you need help with anything?"

>Ryan shakes his head. "Not yet... I'll have to see if I can track her down,

first. I've fought that ogre to a standstill before, but since he has the

advantage now, if it comes down to it, it might be best if you two came along."

>Alex cleans another glass.

>Eden nods. "I will."

>Rachel says, "Of course. Lyrae's a friend. And even if she wasn't, it'd still

be the right thing to do."

>Ryan runs his hand through his hair. "Hope she can hold out another night...

I'm gonna tear that troll a new one next time I run into him."

>Rachel says, "You'll have to race me."

>Ryan smirks. "Don't worry, he's big enough to share."

>Eden says, "While you are doing that, I will look for Lyrae."

>Ryan nods to Eden. "Do you have a phone?"

>Eden shakes her head.

>Ryan snaps his fingers. "Remind me to get you one, I can afford it. At least

got a radio or something similar?"

>Eden says, "Only in Angel."

>Ryan nods. "It'll do for now."

>Rachel nods. "All I've got is my suit's comm system, too."

>Ryan frowns. "Mental note, get you guys cell phones."

>Alex chuckles softly, setting the clean glass in the rack.

>Eden OOC laughs a little, and shakes her head at the vanishingly small number

of her characters here or elseMU* that don't have cellular phones.

>Rachel OOC nodnods. Sounds very familiar.

>Ryan (OOC) Tsk tsk. Good thing Ryan is so wired o.-

>Eden OOC plays a straight fantasy wizard one place, and even she quickly ended

up with one. @.@

>Rachel OOC nodnods, and had a hard time at first picturing that one. ;)

>Merlin pauses in mid casting, right as his beeper goes off! "Excuse me a

moment..."

>Eden . o O ( Though a Caller with a cell phone would have a certain

amusement.... )

>Ryan blinks, finally noticing that he wrecked another piece of Tifa's

furniture. Eheh.

>Ryan points at the table. "Er... I didn't do it."   ^^;

>Eden says, "You did."

>Ryan squints at Eden =.=

>Alex just shakes his head, using the towel to wipe down the bar now...

>Rachel says, "You did, Ryan. And we both know you can afford to pay for it."

>Ryan grumbles something about writing a check   o.=;

>Rachel looks anoyedly at Ryan. "Come off it. You're loaded, you just _gave_

me a bracelet that'd probably buy a roomful of these tables, and you're

grumbling about replacing one table you broke? Which belongs to someone who's

supposedly your friend?"

>Ryan runs his fingers through his hair. "..." . o O ( I'm never gonna hear

the end of this from Tifa. At least she hasn't figured out it was me who broke

that door, yet c.c )

>Eden stands, and turns for the door..

>Ryan snaps his fingers. "I'll replace it tomorrow. AFTER we get Lyrae back."

>Alex says to Eden, "Please come again."

>Eden says, "Good night."

>Rachel says, "Goodnight, Eden."

>Eden heads out the front door.

>Ryan exhales. "Now... to get ready to track down that girl."

>Alex nods, folding up the towel, setting it under the bar somewhere.

>Ryan rummages through the bag, before tossing a way-too-big-for-its-own-good

ruby at Alex. "Put that in the register for Tifa."

>Alex snatches the ruby from the air. "I shall." He steps overto the register,

keying in a transaction, and putting it in the drawer.

>Alex steps out from behind the bar. "Since it appears nothing more is needed of

me this evening, I bid you both good night." He bows slightly. "Oyasumi nasai."

>Ryan blinks, and nods to Alex. "See ya then, I guess."

>Rachel says, "So, what's our first step?"

>Alex nods, walking up the steps to his room. . o O ( Odd place this... Perhaps

I should advertise... )

>Alexander has left.

>Ryan rubs his chin. "... Please don't tell Lyrae this... but since she has a

little... history of being the victim, I put a tracking device in the phone I

gave her, just in case something like this happened."

>Rachel grins. "Good idea."

>Ryan sweatdrops. "Yeah, but Lyrae might not take kindly to it. Not that she's

in a position to argue. And this all hinges on whether that ogre was stupid

enough not to take her equipment."

>Rachel says, "True. But fast and tough as he was, 'smart' didn't seem to be

that descriptive of him."

>Ryan sweatdrops again. "Gotcha there... all muscle and no brains. It's still a

risk, though."

>Rachel says, "I know. but at least it's something to go on."

>Ryan nods. "Exactly. The equipment should be set up sometime tomorrow, assuming

Lyrae hasn't been taken more then 50 miles away."

>Rachel asks, "How portable is it?"

>Ryan says, "Only about 10 pounds, most of that is the transmitter. Easily

carried."

>Rachel says, "Good. If she's not in range, we can go mobile, then."

>Ryan nods. "Bingo. At the very least, we should be able to find the phone. And

since that guy is a few cards short of a deck, that should narrow it down quite

a bit, even if he did take it from her."

>Rachel asks, "We'll rent a truck. Not all that big, but one big enough to

carry, say, two hardsuits and a motoroid?"

>Ryan smirks. "Hey, maybe we'll get lucky and he's still in town, somewhere.

We'll see, on the data..."

>Rachel says, "We'll find out, soon enough."

>Ryan nods. "Exactly." He hefts up the backpack, slinging it over his shoulder.

"Rest up, it'll probably be a busy night tomorrow."
