Hunter Armaments: Main Room
A large room with the apperance of being smaller than what it truely is due to
merchandise lining the walls and filling glass cases. The room itself is well
lit, almost sterile feeling with the white linoleum floors. It might even seem
cold and unwelcoming if it weren't for the fact that in the very center of the
room (where display cases are usually set up in other stores) there's circle of
seats. Two leather couches of a dark hunter green color sit back to back, with a
matching leather chair on each end of the couches so that you can sit facing any
direction you want. More than likely put here for the convienience of the
customers, so they can rest comfortably while waiting for their order to be
filled.
To the left is a counter of a glass display case, filled with various knifes and
other bladed weapons. Along the wall behind it hang similar items that were too
large to fit into the case. Swords, lances, axes. Mostly anything that has a
blade or is close enough to have been able to just store there for display.
Against the far wall is a similar counter, only this one displays a large
selection of guns. Hand guns of various sorts, ranging from bullet to laser fill
the case, while, as with the other side, the larger guns hang from the back wall.
Rifles, shotguns, even something that looks vaguely like it may have a grenade
launcher built into it.
Finally, on the right hand side of the room are the specialty weapons. Ranging in
anything from hand grenades, and mini-bombs with propellors, to night sticks and
guard staffs.

>Iria pages, "Uhh.. Yeah, a small one. c.c" to you.
>You page-pose, "Ryan rings the bell then n.n" to Iria
>Iria has arrived.
Vincent has arrived.
>Ryan was leaning against the counter, looking at his watch as you walk in.
>Iria
She's not that tall, this girl before you. In fact, she's about average school
girl height. Not that she looks anything like your average school girl. Her
spikey auburn hair falls around her face and down to her jawline. In the left
side of her hair are three strands of colorfull beads, which click and clack with
her movements. Warm brown eyes stare out from beneath the feather of her bangs, a
hardened edge to them as if she's used to being stubborn. A small beauty mark
beneath her left eye further draws your attention to this.
A long sleeved white button up dress shirt is neatly tucked into a pair of form
fitting indigo blue jeans. Stylish looking, as well as very casual and
comfortable. Black low cut sneakers, perfect for being on your feet for a long
time adorn her feet. A black leather shoulder holster setup is slung over her
shoulders, though resting on her hip is a loose belt carrying another gun. The
shoulder holster is hard to see though, since she's wearing a dark green suede
leather jacket over it. Not a bomber jacket, but something more along the lines
of an ascot, so it shows off her figure better.

>Ryan suddenly straightens himself up, having noticed your entrance . o O ( Go
fig, doesn't seem like your average gun store owner, but... ) He shrugs, and
comments with an arrogant smirk, "Hi there."
>Iria steps through the back door, eyes quickly flitting over you as if to asses
your potential as a customer. Or a possible threat. She flips her hairbeads back
with her thumb, while smiling brightly. "Hi. Can I help you with anything?"
>Ryan seems like both, if it matters either way. The customer part seems to be
coming first, though. "Yeah, I'm looking for some explosives... grenades,
preferably, but anything that's infantry-portable." He says this with a stright
face.
>Iria just nods as she begins walking toward the right hand side of the store,
where the 'specialty' items are located. Apparently, she doesn't see you as much
of a threat from her all too casual reaction to the request. "Frag, concussion..
What's your preference?" She reaches under the counter and brings a specimen of
both out, as well as reaching under again to pull out a small cylindrical object,
which she holds up. "This is one of my faves. Toss it on the ground and it'll
scatter small marble-like objects on the floor. Step on them, and it'll make you
regret it big time."
>Ryan rubs his chin as he looks over the wares. "Fragmentation are preferable...
need to take down hard targets..." He declines to elaborate on that point,
though. As you pull out the cylindrical object, he quips, "Kinda reminds me of
something a friend of mine used to use. Don't think it's what I need, though."
His targets may or may not be airborne...
>Iria tilts her head to one side in a shrug as she replaces it, and instead takes
out a large case filled with varying sorts of frag grenades. "Take your pick. Got
auto-timer, regular old straight pin, and the kind that just go boom when they
hit something." She eyes you a moment studiously, before nudging her chin in the
direction of the gun wall a moment. "You gonna be needing a launcher for this?"
>Ryan beams. "Nah, already have a launcher, but I need ammo for it. Some
straight-pin would be nice, too... quick and simple is always handy." He hrmms a
bit, then mentions, "Maybe about a dozen 'standard', two auto-timer, and a half
dozen launcher rounds."
>Ryan . o O ( I wonder how she got a permit for this place. Not my problem, at
any rate. )
>Iria nods and begins walking into the back room, only to come out a few moments
later with the requested items, setting them on the counter. She grabs a box and
puts them in, listing them off while doing so to show you she got them all. After
she's finished this, she looks at you quite seriously. "Of course you'll have to
sign the legal documentation before purchasing these as well." A breif pause and
she smiles slightly. "Unless there's some problem with that..?" It's almost as if
she might be suggesting that another agreement could be reached if there was
something wrong with it.
>Ryan smiles and shakes his head. "Nah, not a problem. I'm perfectly clean." In
this country. "Um... is cash acceptable?"
>Vincent has arrived.
>Iria just stares at you like you grew a second head, before laughing. "Well,
duh. Of course it is." Though she does arch a suspicious eyebrow at you a moment.
"As long as it's not fake. We have a very strict policy that if someone tries to
cheat us, well.." She shrugs widely, letting her hand fall to the gun at her side
a breif second as if making a point. "Will that be all, sir?"
>The door to the back room opens up. Vincent walks into the room calmly. For
Iria's sake of information, he appears to he ready to leave once more; pistol
repacked into its case, his cloak over his shoulders once more. He pauses
however, as he sees just whom Iria is attending to, looking Ryan over for a
moment.
>Ryan taps his fingers on the counter. "I can assure you it isn't fake. Would you
prefer precious metals then...?" The arrogant smirk returns to his face. "Yeah,
it's not like I'm trying to outfit a friggin' army or something."
>Iria just shrugs and pulls out a roll of tape, which she closes up the box on
the counter with. Wouldn't do to have an open box, now would it. "No, cash is
fine. Precious metals are too easy to trace. Of course if you're asked I'll deny
all knowledge of you purchasing these items. That'll be $7,300."
>Ryan pulls his wallet out of his pocket . o O ( Shoulda hit up an ATM before
coming here... Aw hell, I won't be needing cash in Nova Pandemonium. ) He pulls
out a rather large wad of hundreds, and takes a moment to leaf through them.
Considering the total, this takes a while. He slams it down on the counter when
he finishes, and comments with a smile, "There y'go."
>Iria pulls the cash back and rifles through the bills a moment, before putting
it into a steel safe box. Which she then disapears into the back with for just a
moment. When she comes out again, she's dusting her hands off, giving a bit of a
nod toward Vincent (whom she now realizes is out of the back) and then glances
toward Ryan again. "Need any help carrying that, or do you think you can tough it
out yourself?"
>Vincent flicks his attention to the pile, then to Ryan. He speaks, serious in
tone, "What happened?" He's never imagined Ryan as the grenade sort... it's
conspiciously obvious something's up. He steps forward.
>Vincent says, "(OOC) Pile, box, whatever the grenades are in. c.c"
>Iria says, "(OOC) Box. c.c Though there's still several grenades out on the
counter from when she was showing him the stock"
>Ryan apparently hasn't spotted Vinnie yet. Iria's more interesting to watch,
anyway. As he speaks up, though, Ryan glances over. "Huh? Wah? Oh... um... we're
just planning on storming a starship, nothing much, really..." He sweatdrops, and
says to Iria, "I can get it, no sweat."
>Iria looks instantly interested in what Ryan just said, a wide grin coming
across her face. "Starship? Seriously?" My, but she seems a bit eager. Then
again, she's not the 'shop owner' type really, and is getting antsey as hell not
having any -real- work. "Need any help?" She offers, with that same wide grin.
Oh, she misses raiding starships alright.
>Ryan blinks. Twice, actually. He hefts the box up and onto his shoulder (heavier
than it looks), and replies, "Um... nah, still haven't got a clue how we're gonna
get up there, anyway..." He glances at Vincent again.
>Iria's grin turns into a roll of her eyes and a smirk. *sigh* "Ah well, shoulda
known with that crap you'd be an amature. Enjoy yourself." She strides over to
the specialtiy section to replace the grenades she'd been showing Ryan a moment
ago, leaving him to talk to Vincent.
>Ryan stands there in shock. "Come again? Who're you calling an amateur, babe?"
His mood is a little less cheery than before, but still has a hint of
playfulness. Continuing his tirade, "I'll have you know I've got it all planned
out. Really. Besides, the grenades are just for a distraction in case of a melee.
Hmmph."
>Vincent briefly frowns at the information, but is quick to clear his face of
expression again. It seems that he has a fairly good guess as to what sort of
raid is being spoke of. He looks toward Iria as she approaches, and over to Ryan
again, "The Nova Pandemonium?" he asks the man, just to make sure.
Somewhere on the muck, Eden has connected.
>Ryan nods, slowly, to Vincent. He shifts the box a little, to get it into a more
comfortable position, then says to him, "Didn't know there was more than one.
Mind if you pop by my place later? Wanna talk some stuff over..."
>Iria just chuckles, not even sparing Ryan a glance. Well, more than it takes to
aim her gun at his head with the friendliest grin you can imagine and a casual.
"I suggest you get your macho carcass out of my shop if you want to continue
using such language, and it sure as heck sounds like you're an amature to me. Of
course, I've only been doing stuff like that since I was 13. So what would I
know." She really doesn't like being called babe, or anything else.
>Vincent nods in silent agreement. The question was mainly for the fact that -he-
didn't know if there were more than one. And, like with an earlier customer, he
wisely stays out of a small bout of insults between Iria and Ryan.
>Ryan is an arrogant bastard, just his thing. He doesn't really want to fight the
shop keep but... well... you started it! "Hmmph. Whatever. Just don't be calling
people you don't know amateurs, y'know? Just ain't polite." He chuckles himself,
now, and heads towards the door.
>Iria just busts out laughing at Ryan, falling over the counter in front of her
as she shakes with the sound. "Man, I hope you've got some good luck. You'll need
it." She reholsters her gun.. Which, was sans a clip and had the safety on.
"Enjoy your merchandise."
>Ryan doesn't seem to mind Iria's humor. I mean, Ryan's -the man-, and he knows
it. Nothing she says will change that. ^_- He does quip as he walks out,
though, "I'll be enjoying 'em more then those damned metal demons, that's for
sure..."

>In a page-pose to you, Vincent knock knocks. cc.
>You page-pose, "Ryan shouts, "S'open!"" to Vincent
>Vincent steps in from the yard.
>Ryan left the box of grenades sitting on the dinner table c.c; At the
moment, he's fiddling with settings on his blaster.
>Vincent walks in. The case he was carrying at the armament shop is absent; he
must have stopped to drop it off somewhere. "Good evening, Ryan." he begins as a
greeting. "You wanted to speak to me?"
Somewhere on the muck, Sanosuke has connected.
>Ryan swings around to face you. He isn't pointing that blaster -right- at you,
but the fact it's even facing your general direction would make a sane person
nervous. "Yeah... I heard you've been up to Nova Pandemonium before, somehow...?"
>Cloud steps in from the yard.
>Cloud knocks on the door outside, ahem, excuse me. x.x
>You page-pose, "Ryan shouts, "Come in!"" to Cloud and Vincent
>Ryan is working on his blaster, fiddling with dials on the side. And a... um...
box of grenades is sitting on the table c.c
>Vincent gives the blaster note, but doesn't overly react. He's seen far too many
firearms to be overly reactive when one is pointed at him. "I have been there,
yes." he pauses, then continues as he assumes the reason that Ryan is asking, "My
only way there is through the metal demons, however."
>Cloud opens the door, striding into the room quietly.
>Ryan hmmphs as he closes a panel on the side of the blaster. "I'm not worried
about the metal demons... how did you get in?"
>Hardsuit Red steps in from the yard.
>Vincent looks over his shoulder as Cloud enters. Seeing who it is, he continues
to Ryan, "As I said. Callan took me to the Nova Pandemonium, and Harken returned
me to the city."
>Hardsuit Red says, in an electronically-filtered voice, "Hello, boys."
>Ryan glances over his shoulder as the mecha walks in. "Be careful of the carpet,
'k?" He turns back to Vincent. "That's... it? Ugh." He runs his fingers through
his hair. "Looks like we'll have to take Maruah up on the offer... unless someone
has an orbital ship they aren't telling me about."
>( Rachel pulls off her helmet and smirks at Ryan. "My boots are probably
cleaner than your shoes." Getting more serious, she adds, "But I'm afraid I'm
fresh out of spaceplanes." )
>Vincent frowns slightly, "Who is Maruah?" Not a name he's heard before. He adds
in another question, before the first is answered, "Can you tell me what
happened?"
>Ryan rubs the back of his neck, trying to figure out a way to make this
coherent. "Apparently... she's another one of the metal demons. The 'new' ones,
like Callan or Uriel. According to her, Harken's managed to capture Foil. Again."
>Cloud hmmms... as he ponders. Callan took him too. And odds are she's not about
to give any more rides.
>Vincent nods, "I know." he answers simply. And he would have mentioned something
before, but something was always coming up to prevent him talking about it.
>Hardsuit Red walks to an out of the way corner and stops, unlatching sounds
issuing from within, muffled by the armot layers. The upper portion of the suit
separates, front from back, as the leg-seams spread a bit for boarding and
exiting.
>Rachel gets out of her hardsuit.
>Cloud blinks, looking towards Vincent. "You knew?"
>Ryan blinks? "Nobody tells me anything around here!" >.< For the record,
Ryan's holding his blaster, and a box of grenades lies open on the table c.c
>Rachel asks, "From what I'm hearing, our main problem is still getting there?"
>Ryan nods to Rachel. "Kinda hard to get to a big thingy in orbit. I might be
able to get my hands on a ship, but it'd be a few weeks, at best..."
>Vincent nods, "I apologise for not letting you know sooner. But I had thought,
with Derek's challenge to Harken standing, you would have known." that's about
all he is prepared to offer in the matter of apology, "As for what else I have
discovered, the contamination of the water supply appears to be the plans of one
demon. I would assume that it is the one known as Alhazad."
>Ryan pulls his hair. "That idiot challenged her!?"   O.o;
>Ryan hmms, calming himself a moment, "I've only seen... Alhazad once, so I can't
comment on his motives..."
>Vincent turns to Ryan, "Yes, but she still has yet to accept the challenge, as I
know."
>Rachel asks, "What about magical assets? Are any of our magicians able to get
us there?"
>Ryan rubs his chin. "We have magicians?"
>Vincent then answers about Alhazad, "As I have gathered, Harken is the
preferable enemy over Alhazad. You have spoken of this Esmerelda... They have
been likened to the same stripe, as well as known to speak together from time to
time." he falls silent then, to listen.
>Rachel says, "We certainly have some we could probably get to help us, if we
told them what was going on. That girl, Rydia, and the other one, Lina, for
starters."
>Ryan crosses his arms. "With luck, those two won't get together..." As Rachel
speaks up, he turns to look at her. "It's a possibility. I don't know many mages
who can do something like that, though... I'd prefer to stay with technology, if
possible, myself."
>Rachel says, "You know I would, too, given the choice. But I'm not sure we have
that choice. We can't afford to dismiss options out of our personal dislike for
them."
>Cloud pauses, then asks, "Wait. Vincent? You said Derek still has to take Harken
up on an offer to duel?"
>Ryan nods again. "You have a point..."
>Vincent shakes his head, "No, the other way around, unfortunately. Harken has
to take Derek up on the offer of a duel."
>Cloud frowns. There goes the possibility of a distraction. Unless...
>Cloud looks back at Vincent. "Didn't Harken ... want you to join the metal
demons?"
>Vincent tenses slightly, though it's not an overly noticable reaction, "She
still does. But I doubt she would be fooled into thinking that I have changed my
mind about matters."
>Ryan goes wide-eyed. "Come again?" He shakes his head. "Doesn't sound like a
valid option, in any case..."
>Cloud sighs, thinking briefly. "What about Astrid?"
>Ryan rubs the back of his neck. "I'd rather not go up unprepared... and I
sincerely doubt Astrid would take us up there with the type of gear we'd be
hauling."
>Cloud frowns. "But if I recall, teleportation was fairly quick. Why don't we
just ask him to snatch the sword and bring it to us quickly?"
>Rachel says, "Someone please explain to me about this sword."
>Ryan shakes his head. "It might work, but I get the feeling the 'Quarter
Knights' have a more solid control then that... Couldn't hurt to ask, I guess,
but it doesn't seem likely."
>Vincent seems to agree with Rachel, but for another reason, "What is so urgent
in getting Foil free? Is there something important about the blade he is?"
>Ryan rubs the back of his neck. "According to Maruah... a shakey source,
admittedly... Nova Pandemonium is having a rather deleterious effect on Foil.
Even if that wasn't the case, we can't just leave him up there. He isn't mobile,
after all, and who knows what Harken or Alhazad are doing to him?"
>Rachel asks, "How did he get up there in the first place? And why is he a
sword, now?"
>Rachel . o O ( I don't believe I just asked that... )
>Another sudden knock at the door to Ryan's house.
>Ryan asks, "Maruah grabbed him as a present to Harken, or something like
that..." c.c; "And he's a sword because... um... he is?"
>Ryan erks, and glances over to the door. "It's unlocked!"
>Maruah has arrived.
>Rachel asks, "How in hell does an obnoxious, overbearing asshole get turned into
a sword?"
>Ryan shrugs. "Probably has to do with his chi or something."
>Maruah trots into the room at the call of invitation, "I'm here...." her happy
greeting is cut off as she blinks at Rachel. She considers this matter
thoroughly and giggles of a sudden.
>Rachel asks, "His _what_?"
>Ryan elaborates. "Chi, bioenergy, that sort of thing. S'how ninjas throw
fireballs."
>Rachel asks, "In other words, more magical crap. All right. But why is he a
sword, now? Or did some magician just decide frogs were unoriginal?"
>Ryan rubs the back of his neck. "I really haven't got a clue... he didn't
elaborate on it too much..."
>Eden pages, "There is a knock at the door." to Cloud, Rachel, you and Vincent.
>You page-pose, "Ryan shouts over his shoulder, "S'open!" This is getting to be a
habit." to Cloud, Eden, Rachel and Vincent
>Maruah looks around. Hm, hm.. Ryan, that lady, Cloud, and... oh! She even
recognizes that other man in passing, "You're the one that Harken's always
visiting." She beams, waving to Vincent as she adresses him, and then to the room
in general, "Well, what's happening?"
>Eden steps in from the yard.
>Eden walks in quietly and gracefully, as always. She waves faintly to everyone.
>Rachel says, "Hello, Eden."
>Ryan has his blaster slung over his shoulder, and an open box of grenades lies
on the kitchen table.
>Eden takes this all as casually as if they had been a bookbag and an open box of
donuts. "Hello."
>Rachel didn't exactly blink at them, either. Go figure. ^_-
>Ryan nods to Eden. "We're just discussing how to get Foil out..."
>Eden asks softly, "Right....what have I missed?"
>Ryan rubs his chin. "Just us trying to figure out a way to get up there..."
>Maruah takes a deep breath, "Well... I was thinking, that maybe..." she thinks
about the outline of what she is about to offer for a moment, "Maybe, if I can
get a power boost, I might be able to help a little more. But... we're talking
about only... say four people at max. And I can't take robot things..."
>Rachel asks, "You mean like my hardsuit?"
>Ryan thumbs over his shoulder. "That's why I got the grenades."
>Rachel gestures toward her suit, standing open in the corner.
>Maruah hrms, considering the suit carefully. "Well... it might be feasable. I
think I can handle that. But, like I said, it's only if I get a power boost.
Otherwise, it's only like... two people, no suit."
>Rachel asks, "What would you need for a power boost?"
>Vincent continues to watch this new arrival of a fox girl, having deduced that
she's gotta be Maruah. Otherwise, he just stands in the background somewhere.
>Ryan rubs his chin. "I installed a mini-fusion cell in the lab. Doesn't put out
a lot, but it's power..." . o O ( Gina charged me a fortune u.u; One more
expedniture like that and I'll need to go on expedition again... )
>Maruah looks uncomfortably unhappy under Rachel's question, "Usually, I could
probably ask Shel... but he hasn't been around lately." Her ears droop some.
Then... "But maybe one of the others... Astrid, or someone." she blinks in
confusion at Ryan's comment then.
>Eden Stands off to the side, listening but not speaking.
>Ryan sweatdrops. "Oh, you mean like -magic- power..."
>Rachel says, "Which brings us back to my earlier point."
>Cloud thinks briefly. "Do we really need four people? I'd think two would be
best, for stealth. And I think Vincent and I are best acquainted with the
territory."
>Ryan shakes his head. "Four is manageable... remember how Harken alone nearly
kicked both our butts? If there's trouble, it'd be better to stay in groups." He
inhales. "I agree, though... Cloud and Vincent need to come, if only because
they've been there before."
>Rachel nods. "That much is a given. Who else, then?"
>Eden says, "I can go."
>Ryan rubs his chin. "Me... I've beaten Harken before, and having seen her in
action, i know her style now. But that leaves only one slot left..."
>Cloud looks towards Eden briefly, then Rachel. Uh...
>Rachel pauses a moment, before asking Eden, "Make your case as to why you should
go."
>Ryan scowls. "Actually... I'd rather prefer it if neither of you went,
especially if the armor can't be taken as well. Who knows what might happen...
and, chauvanist as this sounds, I can't just let women run into trouble."
>Rachel turns to Ryan, and says, "I didn't ask you."
>Ryan replies, simply, "I know you didn't."
>Rachel turns back to listen to Eden.
>Eden says quietly and without hesitation. "If it is dangerous there, I am better
suited for it. I am better than you in close combat, and am also skilled with
ranged weapons. Also, I am more difficult to injure severely than you are." She
pauses, wondering whether she ought to add more.
>Rachel nods to Eden. "I can't argue with your combat assessment. You test out
ahead of me in close combat, though I'm a better shot at range. I do need to ask
you something, though. In private."
>Eden nods.
>Ryan can wait. He glances at Cloud, then Vincent.
>Rachel says, "Excuse us for a moment, please."
>Rachel steps outside.
>Rachel steps out the front door.
>Eden steps out the front door.
>Vincent has been waiting patiently. He continues to do so.
>Maruah bounces on one foot, then the other. Lacking of anything better to do,
she slips over to the table holding the grenades. But not to touch -them-. She
takes out papers from her satchel, and a book and pencil. It's classwork she's
doing in her spare time, even during these holidays.
>Ryan doesn't even consider that Maruah might play with the grenades. Lucky for
us fleshy people, she doesn't. He just taps his foot on the floor. Stupid akward
silence.
>Cloud looks at Ryan, frowning. "... What do you think?"
>Ryan runs his fingers through his hair. He mentions with a smirk, "I get the
distinct impression we'll all be coming back in body bags."
>Vincent stares at the doorway that Rachel and Eden departed from. Then he closes
his eyes, standing there in a 'restful' sort of way, waiting.
>Ryan ventures to comment, "I presume you all know how to use a grenade, right?"
>Cloud frowns. "I meant about Rachel and Eden." He pauses, then nods. Of course.
>Ryan oh's and rubs the back of his neck. "I already said what I think... I don't
want either of them coming, even though that doesn't make sense from a logistics
standpoint..."
>Vincent opens his eyes, nodding once. As to whether he will use one or not
remains to be seen. Once again his eyes close. He's either thinking or resting in
that standing position. Maybe both.
>Cloud sighs. "What about Derek?"
>Ryan rubs his chin. "I dunno... Haven't seen much of him, lately."

>Cloud sighs. "What about Derek?"
>Ryan shakes his head. "I dunno... I haven't seem him around recently."
>Vincent is standing in the same spot as when Rachel and Eden left, his eyes
closed in either thought or rest. Maruah is at the table where the grenades are,
busyily scribbling out some school assignment.
>Eden says, "I'm going."
>Ryan thinks about that for a moment, then nods. He looks over to Maruah, and
says, "What would it take for you to get more power...?"
>Maruah looks up from her assignments, "Well, like I said; I have to get another
of my siblings. Or someone that uses the same energy and can give me a boost."
>Ryan nods, and rubs his chin. "Well... I guess we'll have to ask your family,
then."
>Cloud says, "I don't think Astrid or Callan would be helpful..."
>Ryan hrmms. "And I haven't seen Uriel in weeks. And I somehow doubt asking
Harken for help would work."
>Maruah perks up, "Um... Uriel is dead..." she frowns a little, "Harken said she
got killed... I can't remember, but I think she said that it was Foil."
>Ryan blinks. "......." He rubs his chin, digesting that for a moment, then says
slowly, "That... would explain why I haven't seen her around."
>Eden stands back to the side again, listening.
>Rachel asks, "What about other power sources? What sort of energy do you need,
exactly?"
>Cloud frowns, thinking. "What about mako energy?"
>Maruah taptaps her fingers on the table top thoughtfully. At Cloud's suggestion,
she looks over to him, "Um... what's that?"
>Cloud hmms. "This planet's primary energy source. It's what powers the
generators here."
>Ryan declines to comment, simply standing to the side, arms crossed, in thought.
>Rachel . o O ( It does?!? )
>Eden (OOC) doesn't think it does, no....it would probably be mentioned
somewhere.
>Rachel looks at Cloud, a bit incredulously.
>Ryan (OOC) thinks Shinra will be building a Mako reactor here shortly, if one
isn't in place already. c.c
>Vincent says, "(OOC) So it's a power source, if not the primary and only, I
suppose. o.o"
>Eden says, "(OOC) Definitely not the primary though, not yet."
>Ryan hrmms, rejoining the discussion. "From what you've said about that Shinra
place, though, they probably wouldn't be too helpful..."
>Cloud says, "(OOC) here as in this world. no? x.x"
>Ryan (OOC) Shinra here certainly isn't as dominant as it is in the FF7 world,
no. That's why we all aren't living in a big arcology..
>Maruah just waits patiently, looking from one person to the other. o.o
>Maruah (OOC) is of the opinion that she'd only be able to get a boost from metal
demon source anyway, so....
>Maruah shakes her head, "I'd rather just try to get it from my siblings, really.
If I can't, then you've gotta come up with something else."
>Ryan nods. "The trick is finding a sibling willing. Callan maybe..." Not that
Ryan wants to deal with her, mind you, but...
>Cloud says, "... Fine."
>Ryan scratches his forehead. "We might be able to get a conventional ship,
though... didn't those two ladies... Kei, Yuri, have one?"
>Cloud reddens at the thought of Kei. "... Yes."
>Ryan nods, then pikus. "Need to find a way to contact 'em, though. So that's
out, for the moment."
>Cloud says, "... Kei didn't give you her number?"
>Ryan (OOC) doesn't recall if she did or not o.o
>Cloud has hers, though he's not going to admit it.
>Ryan scratches his head. "If I had it, I lost it..."
>Rachel . o O ( I find _that_ hard to believe... )
>Cloud sighs. "... Fine. I'll see if I can call her."
>Maruah giggles at Cloud's reluctance, then looks at Ryan, "You don't need me,
then?"
>Ryan nods to Cloud, then turns to look at Maruah. "Going with you is likely the
quickest option, but if we could get a ship, we could bring our gear along too.
That'd be a help."
>Rachel says, "Not to mention a larger force."
>Ryan nods. "Exactly. Five people is still small enough for a grab-and-run."
>Rachel asks, "I don't suppose this ship you're talking about is armed?"
>Eden says, "A ship would be much better, yes."
>Ryan raises an eyebrow. "Kei's...? I'd be surprised if it wasn't."   u.u;
>Cloud says, "... Wouldn't Kei and Yuri want to ... join?" He sweatdrops, having
already seen the havoc they did to Sensou.
>Ryan glances at Cloud. "You... have a point there. Stealthy they aren't."
>Cloud nods. "Perhaps other options first...?"
>Rachel says, "Then they might be a good diversion for those of us who _are_
stealthy."
>Ryan nods to Cloud. "It'd probably take a day or two to ask Astrid or Callan for
help, so that gives us a little time..." He looks at Rachel. "Yeah, but we want
to be alive to escape, yo?"
>Maruah clears her throat, "Hey... I'm only helping 'cause I don't want Foil
hurting Harken... I don't want to help if you're gonna send people up to damage
the place on purpose..." she can understand defensive acts, but that's a bit....
>Overkill? Where the Dirty Pair is concerned, EVERYTHING is fair game.
>Cloud quietly nods.
>Ryan nods again as Maruah speaks up. "That's the other concern... this isn't a
combat mission, it's a rescue mission. We need to get in and out. We might get
into combat, but it isn't the primary objective."
>Eden says, "I don't want to fight if it isn't needed."
>Ryan thumbs towards the box of grenades. "Those are for distractions... judging
from Harken, one or two of those wouldn't kill a metal demon, but it'd certainly
slow them down."
>Cloud frowns. "I have a simpler suggestion. What would draw the metal demons'
attention away from being on the ship?"
>Ryan shrugs. "How should I know? Interests vary."
>Cloud frowns, then snaps a finger. "What if we offer Callan some... guns...
after she takes us there and back?"
>Ryan hmms. "She does seem to have that taste for... erm... lead. I've got
nothing against bribery."   9.9;
>Vincent sighs, "It is possible that one can move through the ship undetected. I
only dealt with Harken when I was there, for instance." he gives Cloud an odd
look, but decides to not comment on the bribe.
>Cloud says, "Or... trade her the guns for the sword."
>Ryan puts his hands on his hips. "It's big enough... and considering the number
of metal demons, it likely isn't too well watched. There might be guards, though,
like those demon rats." He sighs, and runs his fingers through his hair. "Okay...
we'll have to get in touch with Callan, whichever way we take that. And Maruah
still wants to help Foil, right?" He turns to look at her.
>Cloud frowns, just realizing something. "Maruah, why can't you just snatch Foil
and bring him here quickly before he has time to react?"
>Ryan chimes in, "Heck, I can get you some fireplace tongs if you don't want to
touch him..."
>Rachel . o O ( I can understand not wanting to touch him... )
>Maruah bites her lip, "I... I don't know." She looks to the floor, distinctly
nervous about touching the sword. Probably some sort of reaction from being
'drained' yesterday.
>Ryan hmms. "Well, think it over. Like I said, rubber gloves and tongs aren't
exactly uncommon..." He eyes Maruah again, though, his eyes narrow...
>Cloud says, "... Or wait until he... sleeps?"
>Maruah nods slowly, "I could, maybe." she turns her attention to Cloud, "I don't
think he sleeps at all though. But I can try."
>Ryan hrmms. "It's worth a shot... it might not work, but it's best to try just
grabbing him first. We can always go in like we planned later if that fails."
>Cloud nods quietly.
>Ryan exhales. "I mean, lookit us. We're all standing around ehre moping and
scowling and being agitated... if that's all it'd take to rescue his sorry butt,
why not do it?" Of course, there might be retaliation... but Ryan's sure he could
handle Hakren and company on his home turf. Might, might not, but he sure thinks
so.
>Cloud nods. And would LOVE to see how Harken's new moves work with Enemy Skill.
>Rachel says, "All right. Plan A, Maruah goes in solo and tries to grab Foil,
using protective gear to prevent contact. Blan B, if A fails, is we go in with a
group, preferably via a ship."
>Maruah licks her lips and moves to put up all her assignments and such like,
"Well... where are the things I get? The tongs are better... I was wearing my
gloves when he drained me." she flexes her now uncovered fingers experimentally.
>Ryan points towards the labs. "You can have tongs in a minute, if that's the
question. Of course, it's up to you..."
>Maruah nods slowly, "I can do it... I just didn't want to have Harken be angry
at me for taking away Foil... after all, you guys are already enemies with her,
right?" she smiles wistfully.
>Ryan crosses his arms again. "We can't just start getting this siege mentality,
y'know? It's just not healthy... If nothing has happened to Foil by now, he can
probably 'survive' another day or two. While we can't wait, he also don't need to
be fumbling over our own feet." He smirks at Maruah. "Harken? She already wants
to kill me, can't see how it could get much worse."
>Cloud almost grins at that statement. "Well, let's see how Maruah does first. In
the meantime, I think the rest of us had best get some sleep."
>Ryan nods to Cloud, a smirk crossing his face. "I'll let you know if the
situation changes suddenly."
>Cloud has left.
>Ryan exhales. "I think... this little planning session is over for tonight.
Operation 'Save Foil's ass' will commence tomorrow, if Maruah's up to it. In the
meanwhile, anyone want a soda? Just stocked the fridge..."
>Eden speaks up. "I'll be ready."
>Ryan elaborates. "We'll start with Maruah trying to just snatch him up. If that
works, it's party time. If not, we'll continue as we see fit."
>Maruah bounces again, for lack of better things to do, as well as nervousness,
"I wanna soda, please?"
Eden says, "I'd like one, too."
>Ryan nods. "Coming right up. Coke, I presume?" Ryan's well aware how tension and
fatigue can negatively impair people, especially us poor humans.
>Eden says, "Yes."
>Vincent, meanwhile, has stayed silent through the last of the planning. He
watches Ryan move for the sodas, then turns his attention to Maruah again.
>Maruah nodnodnods rapidly, "Yes, please!" She really wouldn't care... anything
that has caffiene would do, really. This is why she's content with the human
world in the way it is... they came up with such neat things. n.n
>Ryan opens up the fridge, and pulls out two cans. "Heads up!" He lobs them over
his shoulder. Got good reflexes?
>Eden catches hers easily, and carefully so that it doesn't get too shaken up.
>Ryan grabs one for himself, popping the tab with a *wfft* and downing that
sucker post-haste.
In a page-pose to you, Vincent has 'em listed in one column with a permission
denied/permitted status bar on each.
>Eden opens her can and drinks from it slowly.
>Maruah leaps for hers. This was a bit of a mistake, since the overenthusiasm
causes her to knock the table badly. Her body doesn't really seem to care, but
the table certainly does. It rocks at the least and tilts dangerously at the
most. But she gets the can of soda, yes. Good thing grenades are -too- overly
sensitive.
>We hope. c.c
>Ryan blinks. Nope, grenades aren't THAT sensitive; they're a chemical explosive.
Just don't remove the pin.
>Eden (OOC) sweatdrops and puts the pin back.
>Ryan . o O ( Maybe... I should put those away... c.c )
>Ryan stretches. "Want to stay the night? I don't think we have anything to worry
about yet, but I could whip something up..." He crushes the empty can in his
hand, and tosses it in the trash.
>Eden blinks. "All right..."
>Ryan points towards the couch. "Mind that, or d'ya want the bed?"
>Maruah is busy at first getting her can open and avoiding the fizz. Where she
does get it on her hands, she fastidiously begins to lick them clean. Taking a
long guzzle off the soda then, she finally gets to answer Ryan, "I'll go back
tonight and try to get Foil. Harken's off visiting her friend again, so I can
sneak on in."
>Eden says, "I don't want to keep you from your bed."
>Ryan nods to Maruah. "Like I said, it's up to you, but sooner is better..."
He'll, of course, fetch the tongs from the lab if she does. Now way he's letting
her near his valuable equipment c.c As Eden speaks up, he quips, "Hey, I'm
not about to make a pretty lady sleep on the couch if she minds it. Just not
right, y'know?" Yeah, Ryan's a chauvanist...
>Eden says, "I don't mind it."
>Eden whispers, "Eden is used to thinking of herself as property. She won't be
offended. :)" to you.
>Maruah gets up to follow Ryan into the lab. He might not want her near it, but
no one's said she can't follow yet. n.n
>Ryan hmms. "Well... only because you insist. Still doesn't seem right, though.
Lemme go grab you some sheets." He glances at Vincent, and quips, quite
humourously (at least he thinks so), "Sorry, all out of coffins, but there's the
love seat."
>Vincent doesn't appear to find it humourous at all, for some reason. He studies
Ryan quite closely, to see if it's humour or the man really -knows- about where
he slept for all those years, "No. I will return to my home and come back when I
am needed." he replies in a cool, polite tone.
>Ryan doesn't seem to have a clue where you slept, if that's the question. He
nods in reply. That was more in response to your general anti-social-pale-thing.
"Okay, like I said to Cloud, I'll give you a call if something comes up."
>Eden . o O ( ....coffin? )
>Ryan heads over to the lab to grab the tongs, Maruah probably not close behind.

You walk into Ryan's Laboratory.

Lab / Trophy Room(#4180R)
The third main room of the house has been converted into something resembling a
makeshift laboratory, of all things. While Ryan's lab is nothing like Gina's or
Penny's, it's certainly quite impressive to your average layperson. Unlike the
other two rooms, this one has little furniture devoted to person comfort,
excepting the expensive-looking office chair by the large desk.
A large device occupies the center of the room. Those knowledgeable in such
things will recognize it as an electron microscope (how'd he fit it in here?).
Other, smaller, equipment includes devices used in carbon dating of artifacts, a
large radio array (that explains the antennae on the roof), and a good-sized
optical telescope.
Ryan also has a good-sized computer in here as well. While rather weak
compared to those used by his colleagues, the multi-processor array is more than
enough to take on any normal task (especially since it runs Linux).
Unfortunately, Ryan has yet to get that cable modem installed, and is making do
with satellite connections.
A shelf along the east wall stands out among the technical equipment, as it
seems to contain antiquities of value. Jewelrey and scrolls of various origins
seem to make up the bulk of the objects on display, although there is some
pottery, statuary, and other items as well. A glass door seals them away, both
from accidental damage, and from exposure to the air.

>Maruah arrives from the living room.
>Ryan says, without even looking over his shoulder to see you walk in, "Don't
touch anything."
>Maruah isn't touching, but she sure is looking. And she has a better sense than
that of touch. Ears and nose twitch as she scents out the place, looking about
with avid curiousity.
>Ryan walks over to one of the large cabinets and fumbles with the handle a good
minute or two before finally swinging the door open. Most of the equipment in
here is rather sterile and bland to the nose (at least the human nose), but there
are lots of lights and shiny things. Ryan rummages through the cabinet before
pulling out a pair of tongs, about four feet long. "Here you go..."
>Maruah's nose is quite a bit more than a human's sense of smell, but anyway, she
pauses in front of the case of antiques. Careful again not to touch, she comments
on the contents. Or rather, on something connected with them, "Harken gots some
of this kinda stuff." Oh. She turns and holds out her hands to accept the
tongs... after coming closer, of course.
>Ryan raises his eyebrow. "Really?" He walks over to the door, pausing in the
threshold to see if you'll follow him back to the living room.
>Maruah follows, certainly, "Yeah, it's all over her place. Well, sorta. But
she's got a collection, even if most of it's weapons and stuff."
>Ryan hmms. "Well, I'm not surprised she has lotsa weapons..."

You walk back into the living room.

Living Room / Foyer(#4317R)
The small foyer by the front door opens into the main room of the house, which
has apparently been designated as a den. Quite good-sized, it's about 20'x30',
leaving plenty of room for the bookcases, table, desks, and chairs that litter
the place.
The bookcases alone are probably the most notable feature. While most places
have paintings hanging from the wall, with the large bookcases occupying the wall
space, there's little room left for portraits. Only the west wall, with its large
picture window, is free of the items. A cursory inspection reveals a mix between
scholarly texts (books on physics and archaeology, encyclopedias, etc.) and
frivolous items (comic books, graphic novels, etc.)
Everything else is sadly pedestrian, really. Just rather generic (if
comfortable) furniture, although the wide-screen TV is a nice touch. Two doors on
the north wall lead to the bedroom and his laboratory, respectively, while doors
on the east wall lead to the garage and cellar. The kitchen, adjacent to the
living room, is rather undersized for the house, but contains all the essential
appliances.

>Maruah arrives from the lab
>Eden waves.
>Ryan heads to the bedroom next, to grab some sheets for Eden (don't need to
actually walk in there though), coming back out a few minutes later with them in
hand.
>Eden says, "Thank you."
>Maruah comes out from the lab with a very long pair of tongs, "Well, I guess
I'll be off. I'll be back as soon as I can to let you know how things went."
>Maruah scoots over to her satchel and retrieves it on the whim of a memory that
she shouldn't leave it behind. c.c
>Ryan drops the sheets on the sofa. "No big deal, really. Just hope you're
comfortable enough." He nods to Maruah. "Keep us updated, yo?"
>Maruah nods and then is no longer there. Fancy that.
>Maruah vanishes. There is no inrushing 'pop' of air, nor is there any grand (or
puny) special effects that accompany her disappearance. She is simply... no
longer there.
>Maruah has left.
>Ryan glances at Vincent again. "Sure y'don't want a soda or something?"
>Vincent shakes his head, "Tea, coffee... or water. But only if there is no
trouble involved."
>Ryan shrugs. "None, really." He walks back into the kitchen, and starts a kettle
of water boiling. "If you don't mind instant, that is."
>Ryan walks over with a nice 'ol cup of instant tea for Vincent. He yawns, and
scratches his side. "I'm... going off to bed myself." He glances at Eden and (the
idle) Rachel, and mentions. "Sleep well, 'k?"
>Eden nods, smiling in return. "Thank you. Good night."
>Ryan, of course, wouldn't be saying that to Vinnie if he were staying. No reason
to be courteous to guys, after all. He plods over to his bedroom, closing the
door behind him, and promptly nodding off (OOCly as well)
