Main Room
This is a sizable and comfy room of a relatively small cafe on the corner of Thor
East and Tyr. Tables are lined about neatly in an L coordination about a likely
L-shaped counter, where foot stools are placed for extra seating. Behind the
counter, a large cutout in the wall allows communication between the registreers
and the cooks, and the waitress or waiter on duty moves back and forth from this
room to the kitchen through a wooden door placed to the side of it. Set into the
northeastern corner, are two public payphones, the restrooms, and some stairs,
apparently leading up to an apartment above. There is little to know decoration
of the mostly wood-furnished structure, and what there is seems to be following a
50s theme. With a few nostalgic objects of yore, most notably a jukebox. (Use
'menu' and 'order' to order things.)

Cammy
The majority of the bright, golden hair this young lady possesses is
pulled to her back, hair is plaited into two thick, golden braids, which
reach to almost mid-thigh, tied off with red cording. A rebellious lock
springs from her forehead, over her face. Hers is an oval, elfin face,
coming to a blunt point at the chin; it holds huge, crystalline-blue
eyes, a pug nose, and a small, full-lipped mouth; overall a very pretty
look, marred only by a scar running perpendicular to her jawline, along
her right cheek. She can't stand more than perhaps 5'5", and weighs no
more than 130 lbs.
A leather jacket, which should almost be a size too small for her,
fits over her upper torso, not even close to able to be closed. It still
has bright silvery zippers though, and it has a large, folded-over
collar. On the back of the royal blue jacket is airbrushed a large,
'stooping' eagle, in silver and black. The jacket's sleeves are cuffed
at the elbow, cuffed wide, Cammy's forearms well-muscled. A pair of
driving gloves, black and fingerless, with white cuffs, cover her hands.
Under the jacket, she wears a tight black, shoulderless halter top, which
barely wraps around her chest and just beneath; it molds to her body, a
sexy piece of equipment indeed, around her lush orbs.
A pair of baggy, 'comfort' fit jeans cover her hips and lower body,
snugged tight at the waist with a wide, brown leather belt. The soft,
faded, comfortable-looking garment obscures her legs, although the sense
of length and suppleness remains. The ends of the pants are tucked into
a pair of half-calf length boots, in brown leather, with three straps
across the top to hold them closed.
Carrying:
>Cammy smirks--grins, a little, actually, and waves a greeting. "Yo, Ryan."
>Ryan promptly takes a more standard positon, taking his feet off the table (to
the delight of the waitress). "Hmm? Oh, hiyah babe, haven't seen you in a
while..."
>Cammy smirks and sits across from you. "Yeah. Been busy. So wot's goin'?"
>Ryan smirks in return, running the fingers of his free hand through his hair.
"Not much, actually... waiting for someone to report in. Been pretty quiet around
here otherwise."
>Cammy says, "Oh yeah?" She shrugs her jacket off, draping it against her chair.
"So I haven't missed much, eh?"
>Ryan shakes his head. "Nah..." Well, except for Cloud going bonkers once or
twice, Lyrae staying bonkers, and the occasional random violence.
>Cammy mphs. "That's good, then."
>Ryan nods. "Well, better then world ending calamities and crap like that,
y'know?"
>Cammy snorts. "Yeah. So yer just sittin' here?"
>Ryan mmm-hmms. "For the moment, at least."
>Cammy stretches and crosses her arms behind her neck, leaning it back to pop a
few of the joints. "That's too bad."
>Ryan finishes off his burger and crosses his arms behind his head. "Well, if you
have a better idea..."
>Cammy grins a little. ".. I can think o' somethin'."
>Ryan leans forward. "Oh? Really?"
>Cammy smirks. "But y've got a girlfriend, don'tcha?"
>Ryan rubs his chin. "Well, I have friends, and a few of them happen to be
girls..."
>Cammy tsks softly. "You'd cheat on a girl?"
>Ryan hmmphs. "Hell, if you mean Rachel, she does the exact same thing. We're
just friends, y'know?"
>Cammy mmhmms...
>Ryan leans back in his chair again. "Of course, you don't hafta believe me if
you don't want to."
>Cammy grins. "I suppose I could take your word for it." She's teasing you--of
course.
>Of course. "Well, looking for a burger, or just came in here to tease me?" He
smirks.
>Cammy laughs softly. "I saw y' in the window, actually."
>Ryan scratches the side of his head, quipping, "Wow, I'm turning heads, eh?"
>Cammy smirks, then sobers a little. "Actually... you're one of the few people I
know here."
>Ryan hrmms, and rubs his chin. "A pretty lady like you? I'd hardly believe
that.."
>Cammy nods. "It's true. I am not the most ... -social- person on th' planet."
>Ryan runs his index finger in a circle on the table. "Really? Maybe you just
need to get out of the house more. Of course, half the people in this town are
lunatics, but they don't count."
>Cammy says, "If I got 'out of the house' more, I'd be more social.."
>Cammy says, "... an' I am not inclined to it."
>An arrogant smirk crosses Ryan's face. "Maybe you just don't have the proper
motivation?"
>Cammy says, "And what would that motivation be...?"
>Ryan leans back in his seat again. "I dunno... d'you like dancing? You could
hang out at that club to the east, for instance."
>Cammy says, "Dancin'? I haven't danced in a long time..."
>Ryan says, "Haven't? That's a shame. Might need to get back into practice. Have
a job in town, too? Cliche as it sounds, you meet a lot of people when you're
working."
>Cammy says, "Perhaps.... I'm not sure."
>Ryan nods. "Well, no big deal either way. Seem nice enough though, at least from
what I've seen. Certainly to the eyes..."
>Cammy smirks, hiding the little bit of pleasure at your compliment. "But you've
got a roamin' eye anyways.."
>Hex walks in from the street outside.
>Ryan furrows his brow in mock anger. "Saying I can't pick out beautiful women?
I'll have you know I got better taste then THAT."
>Hex walks in and takes a seat close to the door.
>Cammy smirks. "I never said you had bad taste.."
>Ryan doesn't notice Hex walk in. He has more interesting things to pay attention
to. He winks at Cammy. "Just checking."
>Cammy says, "So what are you doin' tonight? It -is- New Year's Eve..."
>Ryan crosses his arms behind his head. "Nothing. Pathetic, isn't it? I'm waiting
for someone to check in with me, but aside from that, I'm completely free."
>Hex picks up a menu and reads through it. "Hmmm...the grilled lobster sounds
good. But the crab also looks like a real winner."
>Cammy tsks softly. "That's a shame. The two of us alone tonight?"
>Ryan leans forward, resting his chin on the back of his hand. "I imagine there
are worse things."
>Hex he tosses the menu behind his seat and licks his lips. "But a burger and
fries sound even better. Waiter!"
>Cammy asks, "I suppose there are..." She smiles. "I guess I can count on you to
help me not be alone t'night?"
>Ryan gets a twitch in his eyebrow, and takes a moment to look over his shoulder
at Hex. "..." Turning back to Cammy, "There's all SORTS of things I could think
of doing, if you're free..." . o O ( I just hope Maruah's doing okay... )
>Cammy spreads her hands. "I dont' have any plans."
>Ryan stretches. He was sitting down in here for a while, even before you came
in. "Well, there's that dance club, like I said. They'll probably be packed to
the gills, though."
>A waiter trots out with a pad of paper. "What do you want today?" Hex grins
evily. "I want the biggest burger and the largest fries yoy can make!" The waiter
writes this down and trots back into the kitchen.
>Cammy shakes her head. "I don't want to be surrounded by strangers, Ryan."
>Ryan hmms, and rubs his chin. "Well, had anything to eat yet? We can head back
to my place afterwards, got a big screen TV to watch the ball drop." He winks,
and shamelessly mentions, "Of course, there's more interesting things that can be
done in private."
>Hex shivers and waits for his food to come.
>Cammy says, "I don't even know where you live." She smiles, brushing aside the
innuendo, "--and I would enjoy that, I think."
>Ryan nods. He wouldn't try anything, mind you. "Just a few blocks east, Thor
407. Not too far."
>Cammy smiles. "C'mon, then. I should stop back home, though, first.."
>Ryan nods to Cammy. "No rush, still got a good three hours left."
>Cammy nods, "That's true." She stands up, "Well, should I meet you at your
place, then?"
>Ryan shakes his head. "Nah, might as well walk with you. Can't tear myself away
from you." He smirks playfully. Shameless, utterly shameless.
>Cammy swallows a laugh, then smiles. "C'mon, then."
>Ryan seems to be enjoying himself, at least. "Lead on."
>You fall in line behind Cammy.
>Cammy leaves, with you following after.

west on Thor Street. Luckily, all the streetlamps here are replaced
regularly..any graffiti is cleaned up almost immediately..and a neighbourhood
police patrol keeps an eye out for any shifty and suspicious types wandering
about. To the east, Thor Boulevard is a much more lively and light

upper-middle class homes. To the South, Tyr Road continues in that direction,

unto this one, with cargo and service ramps running on either side of that.
Centered directly to the east is a very large reception desk, with several clerks
waiting to serve residents, or prospective customers. To the south, the wall is
marred by the oaken door to the manager's office, while to either side of the
desks are two elevators, and for the more physically adept, a stairwell.

A loose brown shift seems to be basically folded around this young
woman, made of a soft, satiny material. Upon close examination, it's
revealed that wide shoulder straps hold the dress up. The low-cut back
affords a nice view of well-muscled shoulders; the soft cloth clings to
her full bosom, hiding little. It is gathered in at the torso, for a
better fit, but flares out at the hips. Her arms are bare, muscled, but
slim; a black-banded digital watch rests on her right wrist, a braided
friendship bracelet in black, green and red on her left.
From the hem upwards to the hip, the dress seems almost slit; the
way it moves, it's impossible to tell, it flows like a swirling stream
around her. Occasional flashes of lightly tanned, firm, long legs are
visible as she moves, moreso at the calves and ankles than the thigh, but
it's obvious that this girl keeps in shape. A pair of thick-soled
slippers protect her perfectly-shaped feet from the elements.

Front Yard(#4335R)
You look around the front yard... both the mailbox and a plaque near the front
declare this to be 407 Thor Boulevard, and the home of Ryan Tabbot. It's a rather
respectable dwelling in its own right, a single-story ranch-style home. You can't
quite tell from here, but you suspect it has at least four main rooms. It's
rather bland in appearance, the only real architectural achievement being a
slight asymmetry in the design; the room to the right of the front door extends a
good ten feet further into the yard then the one on the left. The house is
painted a rather drab beige, but it fits the unassuming style.
About the only thing that marks this house as something out of the ordinary
is the numbar of antennae attached to the roof, from radio, to DSS, to various
types that probably aren't immediately recognizable.
As for the yard itself, it's exceedingly large for this part of town,
perhaps being almost a half-acre in size, although some of that is in the back
yard. The grass is well-kept through an automatic sprinkler system, and two large
oak trees stand on either side of the concrete path that leads from the sidewalk
to the front door.
A short (2' high) stone wall separates the house, and its yard, from the
street and neighboring dwellings. A taller wall (almost 6') segregates the back
yard from the front, perhaps to provide a measure of privacy.

You unlock the door, and walk inside.
Living Room(#4317R)
The small foyer by the front door opens into the main room of the house, which
has apparently been designated as a den. Quite good-sized, it's about 20'x30',
leaving plenty of room for the bookcases, table, desks, and chairs that litter
the place.
The bookcases alone are probably the most notable feature. While most places
have paintings hanging from the wall, with the large bookcases occupying the wall
space, there's little room left for portraits. Only the west wall, with its large
picture window, is free of the items. A cursory inspection reveals a mix between
scholarly texts (books on physics and archaeology, encyclopedias, etc.) and
frivolous items (comic books, graphic novels, etc.)
Everything else is sadly pedestrian, really. Just rather generic (if
comfortable) furniture, although the wide-screen TV is a nice touch. Two doors on
the north wall lead to the bedroom and his laboratory, respectively, while doors
on the east wall lead to the garage and cellar. The kitchen, adjacent to the
living room, is rather undersized for the house, but contains all the essential
appliances.

to Ryan, "Got any orange juice?"

"Not bad. A little heavy on the vodka, but knowing you, that was on purpose."
She laughs softly, then takes another sip.
>Ryan hmmphs. "So little faith in me, hmm?"
>Cammy takes her own gin 'n tonic, but doesn't sip it, staring out into space for

>Cammy smiles faintly. "Sorry. I am always melancholy around the New Year--for as
long as I can remember."
>Ryan rubs his chin. "Well, lets see if we can change that, hmm...?"
>Cammy sips her gin and tonic and nods.
>Ryan scratches the side of his head. "Wasn't planning on company... would've

>Rachel says, "Well, we could always find something to do."
>Ryan nods. "Of course. Still getting set up here, though. Lab's barely

>Rachel says, with mild sarcasm, "What a _fun_ thing to do on New Year's Eve."
>Cammy studies her drink. "I feel," she says, at length, "... almost like an
intruder."
>Ryan hmmphs at Rachel. "Well, we can always get rip roarin' drunk..." As Cammy
speaks up, Ryan replies, "Get that notion out of your head. Keep thinking like
that, and you'll never get out of the house more, y'know? I'm glad to have you
here, not often I get graced by the presence of two lovely ladies at once..."
>Rachel says, "Besides, you're the one who got invited. I just happened to be
here already."
>Ryan nods. "And I'm not about to kick a cute girl out of my house. So get
comfy." n.-
>Cammy smiles a little at that, then takes a larger sip of her gin and tonic.
"So."
>Ryan hmmphs. "Shoulda renting a movie. Though the last movie we saw didn't go
too well..."
>Rachel asks, "What was it?"
>Ryan rubs the back of his neck. "That one at the theater, beginning of the
month? I thought both of you were there..."
>Cammy chokes. "Oh, -that- movie..."
>Rachel says, "Oh, that. I thought you were talking about one you rented."
>Ryan points towards the TV. "Any of the major networks'll be showing the ball
dropping. Of course, you'll have to wade through the drivel that comes before
it."
>Rachel says, "I usually just turn the sound off until the last minute or so."
>Cammy says, "I don't think I've ever seen this 'ball'."
>Rachel says, "It's in Times Square, in New York. A big, lighted ball they lower
down a pole to signal the arrival of the new year. It reaches bottom just at
midnight."
>Cammy says, ".. what a strange thing to do."
>Ryan shrugs. "Nobody ever claimed New Yorkers were sane."
>Rachel says, "It's a really old tradition. I don't have any idea how it got
started."
>Ryan walks back into the kitchen to grab a beer for himself. He walks back out.
"Anyway..."
>Cammy asks, "What else is there to do?"
>Ryan throws out, mostly to get the conversation started, "I could always tell
you about my expedition to that citadel in the Arctic. Hey, better then siting
around getting drunk, eh? Now you can sit around, getting drunk, while listening
to stories."
>Cammy snorts. "Alright, then, go for it..."
>Rachel says, "We'll probably _need_ a drink or two..."
>Cammy laughs softly.
>Ryan raises an eyebrow. "Har-de-har-har."
>Ryan takes a seat, wrapping his left arm around the back of the chair, and
holding his drink in his right. "Seeing as how you're both so enthusiastic, I
guess I don't have much choice, hmm?"
>Cammy says, "So what's your story, Ryan?"
>Rachel sips her drink, sparawling comfortably in a chair.
>Ryan stands up, and walks over to the lab. "Well... I found some evidence that
indicated that some sort of installation was hidden in the arctic. Northern
Greenland to be exact." He walks into the lab, and rummages around.
>Ryan walks back out of the lab, about five charts rolled up under his arm. "Only
thing is, every freaking Archaeologist on the planet found the place at the same
time. Almost funny, really."
>Cammy says, "Doesn't sound like a coincidence."
>Rachel asks, "So what did you all do? Draw straws for it?"
>Ryan chuckles. "Actually, it was blind dumb luck. I mean, it was me, Gina,
Penny, Talon, Montara, some guy called Lendo... Every treasure hunter worth his
salt was there." He takes a seat, and speads the charts out on the table. "The
place was split up into six sections, we each got one."
>Ryan asides, "Of course, that little twirp Pee-wee wouldn't stay to his own
section, but that's a whole other matter."
>Ryan glances over the charts. "Mostly because of Pee-wee and his henchmen, me,
Gina and her sisters, and Penny worked together for a while. Didn't go quite as
planned; Both talon AND that Lendo creep ganged up on us, and Montara just
tweaked everyone but good."
>Cammy nods solemnly.
>Rachel says, "Sounds like a rough time."
>Ryan shakes his head. "Wasn't TOO bad. Pee-wee's minions are pushovers. It's
just that Lendo brought a freaking -army- with him, and Montara starting throwing
around pyrokinesis..."
>Ryan smirks. "Funny thing was, there -was- a huge treasure just lying in there.
Oddly enough. I can kinda see why everyone was going all out, after seeing that 6
foot diamond..."
>Cammy whistles...
>Rachel says, "You _must_ be joking."
>Ryan shakes his head. "No joke. Of course, the original owner got kinda pissed
when Penny tried to walk out with it."
>Cammy asks, "Penny?"
>Rachel rolls her eyes. "Let me guess. Some magical thing watching it."
>Ryan rubs his chin. "Dunno about magical. It was !@^^&@* huge, though. Some
kinda big serpent-dragon thingy, easily 150 feet long."
>Ryan nods. "Penny, yeah, one of my competitors..."
>Cammy raises an eyebrow.
>Rachel . o O ( There's 150-foot 'serpent-dragon thingies' that _aren't_ magical?
o.O )
>Ryan peers at Cammy. "No, NOT a girlfriend. A bit too frigid for my tastes,
anyway."
>Cammy coughs. "I didn't say a thing!"
>Rachel laughs. "Sure, Ryan."
>Rachel says, "I know your tastes."
>Ryan smirks, and continues. "Needless to say, none of us were packing anything
big enough to take it down. So we did the only logical thing. Run like hell." He
chuckles, then replies, "Nah, Penny's COLD, man, way bad. Backstabbing and
everything, all high-n-mighty. Getting better, though."
>Rachel says, "She's female, legal, under fifty, and breathing. Just your type."
>Rachel smirks.
>Ryan hmmphs. "Ha ha ha."
>Ryan taps his finger on the table. "This thingy didn't attack us though, it sent
these big 'ol globes of magic flying at us. Hit Pee-wee's minions first.
Apparently, the things disintegrated people."
>Rachel's eyes widen, showing her shock.
>Rachel . o O ( Like _that's_ not magic? )
>ould be Technology-based, too. The fortress was a high-tech installation.
"That's what it looked like. So, get this, Me, Gina, and Brittany running like
hell; Penny and Charlotte fleeing with that diamond; and Montara trying to stop
all of us. Utter chaos. Kinda fun, actually.
>Rachel says, flatly, "Except for the people who were dying."
>Ryan says, "Listen up, I'm not done yet, yo? Penny does her usual trick of
stabbing us in the back and taking off by herself. Montara screws Gina over and
almost gets away before they got caught. Only reason Gina and Brittany got away
was because Seancegave me a hand in resucing her. He had this 'masking' spell
type thing, kept those globes from catching us."
>Ryan holds his hands out in front of him. "Even Penny got zapped, Diamond and
all. Yikes, y'know? We almost made it to the exit ourselves, but we got zapped by
surprise."
>Ryan looks at his watch. "About 5 minutes now, hmm."
>Ryan points at the TV. "Almost time, if either of you are interested."
>Rachel says, "Go ahead."
>Ryan laughs. "Well then, lets party like it's 1999, eh?" He smirks. "Oh, the
story, you mean?"
>Rachel says, "No, the TV."
>Well, it just happened IRL n.n
>Rachel (OOC) doesn't have a TV where she can see it from her computer.
>Ryan (OOC) Well, it's 1999. Enjoy, or something n.n;
>Rachel watches the ball dropping the last short distance. "3... 2... 1...
Happy New Year!"
>Cammy (OOC) happy new years x.x
>Ryan rubs the back of his neck. "Actually... isn't all that exciting watching it
on TV. Maybe I'm not drunk enough?" n.n;
>Rachel jumps up and goes to sit in Ryan's lap.
>Ryan doesn't seem to object. Oh, but were his lap big enough for Cammy too,
though. "Happy new year."
>Rachel puts her arms around Ryan's neck and kisses him quickly, grinning.
>Cammy says, "Happy New Year's, to the both of you." She sets her mostly un-drunk
drink down, and fixes her hair. "I ought to be going now..."
>Ryan smirks, and comments, "Easy there, you'll make Cammy feel left out..." He
smiles, and looks over at Cammy. "Are you sure? You could stay if you'd like, but
if you -really- want to go..."
>Cammy considers a moment, then shakes her head. "I should go. This is a moment
for lovers, after all. Thank you for letting me stay for a few minutes, at
least."
>Ryan gives Rachel a kiss on the cheek, but says, "Just don't go being put out
like that, 'k? Otherwise you missed the whole point."
>Rachel gets to her feet, slipping gracefully off Ryan's lap. "You really don't
have to go, if you don't want to."
>Cammy purses her lips and shakes her head. "I want to go--for my own reasons."
>Ryan hmms, and nods. "Just remember to have a little fun now and then, y'know?
Smile!"
>Cammy smiles faintly, then disappears out the door quickly.
>Cammy steps out the front door.
>Rachel watches Cammy go, and shrugs. "Hope I didn't scare her off."
>Ryan hmms. "I'd hope not... you aren't exactly frightening." He scratches the
side of his head. "I have this feeling she'd have popped out anyway, though."
