Odin Street Church: Sanctuary
The tall stained glass windows of the old building flood the room with a soft
light. Your ears hear every creak and bend as you step across the old wooden
floor. This once joyous place of worship has recently been cleaned,
refurbished, and remodeled into a fine place to live and still worship as at
the front of the room is the Sacred Statue of the Holy Mother. The floors are
dust free, the pews are in straight lines, and even some of the old wood has
been removed and replaced. Electric lights hanging overhead hum with energy,
though rarely are they used to conserve energy, instead most of the light
provided by the candles located around the room. Should it be necessary that
the light provided by the candles isn't enough, more oft than not, there is a
small white generator located in the corner to provide more than enough
electricity. A portion of the wooden floor is still broken away, revealing a
patch of wild flowers growing in the center of the room. It's a cute little
addition to the quaint atmosphe

>Ryan steps inside, and looks around.
Angel
This...thing stands - or perhaps 'looms' is a better word - before
you. Whether it is monster or machine is hard to tell, but it stands
two meters tall, a humanoid but inhuman figure covered in a dark,
slightly glossy armored shell, deep violet in color with black
markings. Its build, though sturdy enough, has a bit of a lanky,
elongated look to it, suggesting more a wiry than bulky strength. Its
right forearm is slightly thicker than its left, and both end in large
hands with long, oddly delicate-looking fingers. Its head, though
smooth and faceless, has a pair of black markings coming forward from
either side, suggestive of glaring, inward-slanted black eyes. Even
more noticably, from its back sprout a large pair of wings, textured
and marked to be suggestive of feathers in the same violet and black as
the body, though the overall impression is somewhat other than angelic.
All in all, Angel's appearance alone is frightening enough, but it
doesn't quite explain the feeling that seems to radiate from it. An
aura of menace, of darkness, fills the air around, it alone enough to
frighten some, and to convince most others that they really don't need
to stand too near the demon.
Slung across Angel's left shoulder and hanging to the side is a
large rifle of some sort, of a size where even those humans that could
lift it readily could hardly fire it without being thrown back, and in
her right hand is a long spear, nearing three meters in length, with a
pitch-black shaft and a long-bladed silvery head.

>Eden comes out of the side door.
>Eden walks out of the side door, clad in her softsuit.
>Eden looks over, noticing you. "Hello, Ryan."
>Ryan stares at Angel a bit. He was going to go knock on your door, but you
saved him the trouble. "Heya-" He pauses, noting your outfit, then continues,
"-yah."

Eden
This girl stands off to one side of the gathering, demurely, not
quite timidly. She is young, no more than 17 or 18, and stands some
157cm(5'2"). Her hair, which falls thick and straight down her back
almost to her knees, is light brown and her distant, guarded eyes are
the blue of faded denim. She has a certain presence, an aura almost,
an impression of helplessness and of stricken innocence. She watches
what is happening around her, looks at the people nearby, but she keeps
a distance from it all, whether physical or metaphorical, seeming
always the outsider.
Eden is currently wearing only a kind of bodysuit, snowy white and
barely opaque. It fits her like a second skin, covering her completely
from the middle of the neck down and clearly outlining her slim but
well-curved figure. While the suit is mostly featureless, closer
examination shows small leads and metallic-looking patches on its neck,
and on the wrists, perhaps plugs of some kind.

>Eden doesn't seem to take any note of your staring either at her or Angel,
being used to both. "How are you?"
>Ryan rubs the back of his neck. "Pretty good. Haven't seen you in a while, so I
just wanted to make sure you're okay..." Can't really blame him, after the
stunts Cloud and Lyrae have pulled recently.
>Eden shakes her head. "I'm all right. Thank you for being concerned, though."
>Ryan hmms, still rubbing the back of his neck, and wondering to himself how you
can nonchalantly walk around in that. "Well... anyway, wanna grab a bite to eat
or somethin'? Gotta be boring to sit around this place all day."
>Eden nods. "All right."
>Ryan turns to head for the door, before finally thinking to ask, "Want to
change first? Doesn't matter to -me- either way, but..."
>Eden thinks for a moment. "How warm is it out?"
>Ryan replies, "A little chilly. About fifty." He pauses, then appends,
"Farenheit."
>Eden nods, then walks over to the door to slip on her jacket and step into her
shoes. "Let's go, then."
>Ryan shrugs. Not his place to argue. "Cafe sound good, or would you prefer the
bar? Not a lot of places around here."
>Eden says, "The cafe sounds good."
>Ryan nods.
>Eden falls in line behind you.

Main Room
This is a sizable and comfy room of a relatively small cafe on the corner of
Thor East and Tyr. Tables are lined about neatly in an L coordination about a
likely L-shaped counter, where foot stools are placed for extra seating.
Behind the counter, a large cutout in the wall allows communication between the
registreers and the cooks, and the waitress or waiter on duty moves back and
forth from this room to the kitchen through a wooden door placed to the side of
it. Set into the northeastern corner, are two public payphones, the restrooms,
and some stairs, apparently leading up to an apartment above. There is little
to know decoration of the mostly wood-furnished structure, and what there is
seems to be following a 50s theme. With a few nostalgic objects of yore, most
notably a jukebox. (Use 'menu' and 'order' to order things.)

>Ryan arrives, with Eden following behind.
>Eden walks in behind you, looking around. She unzips her jacket, but leaves it
on.
>Ryan walks over to a booth and, rather politely for him, waits for you to take
a seat first.
>Eden gracefully takes a seat, reaching for a menu.
>Ryan points at the menu, saying with a smirk, "Order whatever you want, I'll
pay for it."
>Eden says, "Thank you."
>Ryan shrugs. "Not a big deal, really."
>Eden asks softly, "What are the hot dogs like here?"
>Ryan rubs the back of his neck. "Dunno... never actually got one. The waitress
has a little psychosis." O.o
>Ryan orders a hotdog, while Kaori-chan smiles and nods.
>Kaori-chan yells in back to the cook, "One hot dog!" The cook grins knowingly,
while Kaori heads back into the kitchen with a worried look. o O ( No.. ..not
that.. ..why me.. )
>Kaori-chan starts to bring the hotdog to Ryan, but.. ..gets caught midway back
with a hunger in her eyes. Futilely, she covers her eyes, "No.. ..must..
..resist..the hotdog! You don't control me anymore!" Suddenly with a cackle,
she crams the poor frankfurter in her mouth, bun, wiener, toppings and
all..much to the shock of all gathered. As she comes back to..she looks around
with a blush..and slides back behind the counter as though nothing happened at
all. *^_^*
>Ryan sweatdrops. "See...?"
>Eden stares. "Yes...."
>Eden orders some french fries and coffee, then.
>Ryan rubs the back of his neck. "Anyway, I have an ulterior motive to asking
you out like this..." Pausing a moment to ogle the skinsuit-cradled form (so
sue him, he's male!), he continues, "... You and Rachel are from the same
place, right?"
>Eden, seening not to notice the ogling, slips out of her jacket. The action,
needless to say, does interesting things to her figure in motion. She sets the
jacket to the side, and nods. "We are, yes."
>Ryan stares a moment o.o ^^; . o O ( Woah ) "She's told me a bit about
where she's from, but I thought it'd be interesting to hear another viewpoint.
I am an archaeologist after all . o O ( Kinda )"
>Eden nods. "That makes sense. What would you like to know?"
>Ryan hmms. "Well, to start with, you're in some kind of combat unit, right?"
>Eden nods. "Yes."
>Ryan rolls his hand in the air. You're kind of hard to get information out of.
"Size? Leadership? Purpose?"
>Ryan orders a hamburger. Kaori-chan smiles, "One hamburger, coming up!"
>Kaori-chan yells in back to the cook, "Hamburger!" The cook nods, "Hamburger.."
>Kaori-chan finally comes out, Ryan's hamburger in hand, and sets it before him,
"There ya are, sugar."
>Eden answers quickly and without hesitation, "There are six of us. Rachel is
our immediate commander. Our purpose is to preserve life."
>Ryan blinks at the sudden answer. Continuing he asks, "You fight those
robots... boomers, she called 'em?"
>Eden nods. "Usually, though once our opponents were similarly equipped
humans..." She frowns uncomfortably at that, and continues, "and we also have
taken more general bodyguarding jobs."
>Ryan nods again. Then, rather out of the blue he asks, "Are you all women?"
>Eden shakes her head, seeming unsuprised by the question. "Two of us are men."
>Ryan nods. "How common is mecha like that? I know there were industrial and
military robots and stuff, but are there household stuff too?"
>Eden nods. "Boomers are made for many purposes, yes, though I believe only the
rich can afford them for household use. Our own equipment is more advanced than
that normally availible, though." There is a trace of something in her voice,
perhaps that of pride or satisfaction, or perhaps something else entirely.
>Ryan hmms. He peers at you a moment, then asks, "Have you ever been on a date
before?" o.- Maybe he's just wondering if he can get some sort of strong
emotional response out of you n.n
>Eden says, evenly, "That depends on what you mean by a date."
>Ryan blinks. Okay, that didn't work. No reason not to continue on the
conversation. "Well, going out to dinner with a guy, for starters. I mean, I
can't imagine you not being asked, both you and Rachel are attractive ladies..."
>Eden nods. "I've done that, yes."
>Ryan rubs the back of his neck. "And anything else?"
>Eden nods. "I have, yes."
>Ryan nods. "Ah." He takes a bite out of his burger, trying to at least be
discrete in his ogling o.=;
>Eden asks, in the same quiet, matter-of-fact voice, "Do you need further
details?"
>Ryan erks, then rubs the back of his neck. Pondering this a moment, he replies,
"Feel free." Hey, why not?
>Eden goes through a relatively short but varied list of dates and datelike
behaviors that she will not OOC detail, but that includes both the quite
innocouous as well as behaviors that would not normally be discussed on prime
time television. Feel free to say 'when'.
>Ryan sweatdrops about five minutes into this little discussion, eventually
mentioning, "... I get the idea." O.o; . o O ( Sheesh, it's like talking to
a computer. Must hang around that robot of hers way too much... )
>Eden nods, and smiles slightly. "Okay. So does that qualify?"
>Ryan rubs the back of his neck. "Certainly..."
>Eden begins in on her french fries.
>Ryan . o O ( Go figure... O.o )
>Ryan asks, with a sweatdrop, "How's the fries?"
>Eden says, "They're all right." She looks curiously up to you, and asks, "Where
are you from, Ryan?"
>Ryan hmms? Guess it's only fair she asks questions too. "I'm from here. I mean,
from this time period. At least, I think I am. Hell, for all I know I could be
from a really similar parallel universe, and don't notice the difference." He
takes a bite of his hamburger. "Or something."
>Eden nods. "Where in the world, then?"
>Ryan replies, "America."
>Eden nods. "I've never been there."
>Ryan hmms, rubbing the back of his neck. "It's a lot like here, at least in
this time." Don't ask me where here is, I dunno OOCly n.-
>Eden (OOC) doesn't either. o.o;;
>Eden nods.
>Ryan continues, "Our mecha technology is nowhere near advanced. I mean, there's
a few suits of powered armor running around and stuff, but most of those are
from other planets, or are prototypes."
>Eden says, "Those technologies had not been developed by this time in my world,
either."
>Ryan hmms. "Really? Rachel was thinking this was an alternate dimension, as
well as a different time... well, there's definately local mecha, so that would
confirm that."
>Eden says, "I am not certain, but from what little I have read, a different
time that can be travelled to must be an alternate reality by corollary." S?he
frowns a bit. "Not that that makes very much difference."
>Ryan rubs the bridge of his nose as he takes another bite. "Well, it really
depends on whether you can affect the timeline... if you can't, there's no
reason why it can't be the same. Of course, other people might be manipulating
it too, and you'd never be able to notice."
>Eden nods slowly. "I suppose that is right, yes."
>Eden says, "I wouldn't know how different this is, not very well. I wasn't born
yet in this time."
>Ryan hmms. "Haven't done much time travel myself. At least, not willingly."
>Eden nods. "Unless this qualifies, I never have."
>Ryan hrmms. "Well, my little trip was a little bit more intentional. This seems
to be some sort of background anomoly."
>Eden asks softly, "What time did you travel to?"
>Ryan hrmms. "Two times, actually. Ran into undead both times. Really annoying,
too."
>Eden nods. "What kind?"
>Ryan rubs his chin. "Vampires, mostly. The skeletons were just minions." He
says this with a straight face, too.
>Eden nods slowly, her eyes widening slightly. "I've never seen either of those."
Sanosuke pages, "For the record: Yashiro, Pagan...? u.u" to you.
>Ryan shrugs. "Vampires look like people. Just... paler. Skeletons look like,
well, skeletons."
>Eden says, "I've never seen an actual skeleton, either, but I at least know
what they look like."
>Ryan shrugs. "Held together with magic. Easy to kill, but really annoying."
>Eden nods.
>Ryan rubs his chin, after taking another... good look at your figure. "Don't
you get embarrassed in that? Or are social customs different where you're from?"
>Eden looks down at herself. "I'm not very embarrassed in it, no...it does cover
me, and doesn't seem to offend people. This isn't usual clothing where I am
from, either, but some people there don't wear very much to go out. Besides,"
she adds, as though it made all the difference, "this is comfortable."
>Ryan hrmms, and shrugs. He's not about to tell you to change. With a smirk, he
comments, "Well, it does fit your figure nicely."
>Eden says, "Thank you." She smiles faintly again. "It is meant to."
>Ryan restrains his urges to flirt further, it's late. Not very... supportive
though, is it O.o; Oh well, no complaint here.
>Eden says, "It is only meant to be worn when I am inside Angel."
>Ryan nods. "Must have something to do with the control, right?"
>Eden nods. "And it gives slight additional protection against attacks."
>Ryan mmm-hmm. "Doesn't LOOK very protective, though, to be honest. What's it
made of?"
>Eden looks down, and plucks at the fabric near her left elbow. "I don't know."
>Ryan blinks. "Go figure. Designed to work against ballistics, energy weapons,
both?"
>Eden says, "Primarily against piercing weapons, I believe. Such as blades. It
doesn't stop much force at all, but it is difficult to cut or piece."
>Ryan hmms. "Must be some sort of weave... kind like kevlar nowadays, A lot
finer, though."
>Eden nods, and holds her hand out to you. "I understand it is advanced even in
my own time."
>Ryan rubs his chin, and tears his gaze away from... um, lower things, to look
at the collar. "Must have some sort of circutry imbedded in it, too."
>Eden says, "That's part of the control mechanism."
>Ryan does seem interested in the suit, as weall as its wearer, at least. "I
suspect it has pressure sensors in it, to register movement, so the bigger
mecha... Angel? Angel can mimic the motion."
>Eden says, "I think that is how it works. I'm not sure of the details, though.
I just...move."
>Ryan hmms again. "That seems like the logical explanation, at least." He
finishes off his hamburger, popping the last bit in his mouth.
>Eden folds her hands in her lap, still looking curiously to you. "How much do
you know about these matters?"
>Ryan hrmms, rubbing his chin. "Not as much as I'd like. Technical stuff isn't
my specialty... I picked most of that up from Gina."
>Eden asks softly, "Gina?"
>Ryan blinks, then nods. "Yeah, a technical genius. Forcefields, time travel,
the works. Haven't talked to her in a while, though. We're competitors, after
all. Even though she did this nifty thing in bed where she..." He blinks, then
realzes where he's headed, and stops talking.
>Eden says, "Oh. I don't know about those things."
>Ryan shrugs. "I don't either. I can barely understand half the stuff she spurts
out." With that, he stands up. "Unfortunately... I gotta be going."
>Eden nods, and rises as well. "I should, too. It was good to talk to you."
>Ryan is going to try a little experiment. To get a reaction, of course. He
reaches forward to try to plant a kiss on your cheek, the lech.
>Eden blinks at that, looking somewhat suprised. She starts to edge back
slightly, but seems more startled than offended. She only goes back an inch or
so, though.
>Ryan hmms, completing his action. Apparently he can get a reaction out of you,
at least. "Been nice talking to you."
>Eden smiles a little. "I will see you again soon, then?" She reaches over for
her jacket, still facing you.
>Ryan smiles back at you. "I would hope so... do you have a phone? Call me
anytime." He pauses, then appends, "Well, except when I'm beating up some
villain."
>Eden nods. "Okay."
>Ryan (OOC) goes off to bed n.n;
