>Godo pauses in his prayers, then opens his eyes, standing as he turns around.
"... who are you...?"
>Ryan raises his index finger. "Ryan Tabbot, world famous archaeologist, as I'm
sure you know."
>Godo frowns slightly. "... and what are you here for?"
>Ryan crosses his arms. "... Yuffie is seriously injured."
>Godo's grimaces suddenly, nodding. "... Da-Chao has told me... how did you
know?"
>Ryan pauses, then continues, "A friend of mine was there..."
>Cloud stands near the shadows, just letting Ryan charm the old poozer.
>Godo frowns. "... then you know where my daughter is...?"
>Gee, thanks Cloud
>Ryan nods.

>Godo steps forward. "Then please, tell me where she is."
>Ryan says, "In the city of Midgaard... but she isn't in good health."

This time, I will send an army to retrieve her..." His face sets with
determination. "I thank you for the information."
>Ryan blinks. "Woah, woah woah!"
>Ryan says, "First... we need to phoenix materia, so she doesn't die."
>Godo blinks! "The phoenix materia?" His expression darkens. "... that is...
unlikely... it is deep within Da Chao's fire cave..."
>Ryan's jaw drops. "That big flaming place?" o.o; "D'oh."
>Cloud says, "... I suppose Ice materia wouldn't help at all."
>Godo nods, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "... ice materia is not enough...
for some reason, the magics of that place repels the cold energy of materia..."
>Ryan rubs his chin, pondering . o O ( ... ...? ... ... Kim! )
>Cloud crosses his arms, sighing. "... so what do we do?"
>Ryan shakes his head. "... I have no idea."
>Godo sighs. "...I will rally the army... hopefully, we will be able to
retrieve my daughter in time for Da-Chao to heal her..." He turns around,
lookingg back at the altar before him.
>Cloud coughs. "Actually, do you think your people would want to help retrieve
her?"
>Ryan blinks at Cloud's response, sighing -.-;
>Godo blinks, then nods. "Of course... they're my people... why would they not?"
>Cloud says, "..."
>Ryan says, "..."
>Cloud says, "..."
>Ryan says, "..."
>Godo just blink. "... well?"
>Ryan says, "Er... lets just say they aren't too fond of her... uh... anticsa.

>Cloud pauses for thought, then looks over at Ryan. "... how did they get in the
cave to leave the materia in the first place, though, Ryan?"
>Ryan blinks. "Um... good question."
>Godo frowns slightly. "What antics?" It seems his people have been a wee too
scared to let it out in the open... kinda. "... and the materia was placed
there by Da-Chao himself."
>Ryan rubs the back of his neck, looking at Cloud. Your turn, bucko.
>Cloud rubs his neck. "... Your people are a bit... unhappy with the pranks
Yuffie... pulled."
>Godo cocks his head slightly, crossing his arms. "... I've heard of no
pranks..."
>Ryan looks at Cloud again, then back at Godo, shrugging. "You're like the
grand-high-poobah here, right? They obviously wouldn't tell YOU..."
>Godo's frown deepens. "... oh really... I'll have to look into this..."
>Ryan sweatdrops ^^;
>Cloud rubs his neck. "..."
>Ryan chimes in, "Oh yeah... you have a strange taste in pets." o.-;
>Godo blinks, suddenly. "Pets? I don't have any pets..."
>Ryan pikus. "Erm... then what was that wyvern?" O.o
>Cloud says, "..."
>Godo, pauses, then ahs. "... you mean our visitor's pet. It seems Don Corneo
left it."
>Ryan sweatdrops again. "... Gotcha."
>Cloud says, "... who's Don Corneo?"

>Godo shrugs. "He's some pervert that visits here occasionally..."

>Ryan looks at Cloud. "..." then back at Godo. "He wouldn't be friends with
anyone named 'Mukki', would he?"

>Ryan shakes his head. "Never mind."
>Cloud looks back at Ryan. "... Any ideas?"
>Ryan shakes his head, pauses, then mumbles something to Cloud
>You mumble, "... You think Kim might be able to get through that fire cave?" to
Cloud.

>Cloud mumbles, "How could she? If she's a water elemental, wouldn't the fire
douse her?" to Ryan.

>Godo blinks at the whispering.
>You mumble, "Not if she douses it first..." to Cloud.

>Godo frowns. "Speak up. Who is this Kim? Do you have a way to obtain the
Phoenix Materia?"
>Ryan blinks. Wasn't expecting the old guy to listen in.
>Godo may look a bit old, but he's far from feeble...
>Cloud says, "... Kim? She's a companion of ours. We were just... discussing."
>Godo nods. "And how could she help?"
>Ryan looks at Cloud, letting him decide what to reveal.
>Cloud looks at Ryan, letting HIM decide.
>Ryan peers at Cloud =.= "She's... uh... a talented girl."
>Godo blinks. "And how would that help with the fire caves?"
>Ryan pauses. "Um... it just might."
>Godo nods, firmly. "Then find her. Quickly. Bring her here."
>Ryan blinks, and nods slowly to Cloud
>Cloud says, "... ... ..."

>Kim, since you're with a bunch of students, you should be drafted into the pub
right now to party over Yuffie's disappearance. ^_^;

>Mai says, "And yesterday everyone was jumping off the roof of the bunks, but I

>Ryan is hustling, dammit! YOU keep up!
>The ninja blinks. "Guess you're an odd one..." He grins slightly. "Say, do
you have any stories on why you hate Yuffie? She killed my pet rock... and
hamster... and turtle." =.=
>Mai asks, "Yuffie?"
>Mai says, "Uh...'fraid I'm not familiar with the girl." n.n;
>Mai says, "I'm new to the city. Transfer trainee."
>The ninja nods. "Yeah... that's what this celebration is all about." He looks
amazed. "Wow... guess you ARE new. Pretty much everyone here hates that
brat... she's Godo's daughter, that's the only reason we've tolerated her..."
>Cloud hustles, hustles, come on, let's go!
>Mai asks, "Was she really THAT bad?"
>Ryan is jogging as fast as he can, which is pretty fast, considering he's an
olympic-level athlete.
>The ninja jerks a thumb back at another shinobi... who's missing a leg. "You
guess."
>Mai says, "Telle me that was an accident or something. o.o;"
>Okay! Back on the mountaintop, the two finally reach the bottom. ^_^;

>The ninja shrugs. "We don't know.... but that guy there thinks it wasn't."

>Ryan says, still running, "Okay, we need a plan. We can't just run in and
snatch her." He pauses. "Well, we could, but it wouldn't be pretty."

>Cloud says, "... Why don't you just go in and say she's your girlfriend?"

>Mai glances around again at all the hooting and hollering.
>Mai. o O (Hey...they wouldn't notice if one little student slipped off in all

>Cloud nods, continuing to run.
>Mai begins to make her escape off the bar stool
>Ryan approaches the town. Hopefully Cloud can avoid the pit traps this time.
>The shinobi who was previously talking to Mai is now dead drunk unconscious. x.x

>Mai walks across the room, staying near the wall, carrying her drink to blend
in.
>Ryan approaches the walls of the town. Guarded?
>Mai says, "Woohoo...no..Yuffie.." not so enthusiastic as the others.
>Not at the moment... almost everyone is celebrating. ^_^;
>Suddenly, an alarm sounds!
>Mai erks! looking around
>Ryan blinks. Wasn't me! O.o

>Cloud skids to a stop, looking at Ryan. "... did you return the vase?"
>Everyone in the pub quickly stands, looking suddenly agigated. Someone speaks
up. "Quick! Godo's coming back from the moutain! Everyone to their posts!
Clear up the party!!" @_@

>Ryan blinks. "Ack! I left it up on the mountain! I have to go back to get it
later!" o.o;
>Mai scootscootscoots towards the door much faster now, still clutching the drink
>Everyone is hoarding out of the pub as people retake their posts, the students
heading back to their bunks.
>Cloud exclaims, "Let's just get Kim and dash for the cave quickly, I don't
think we have much time!"
>Ryan takes the opportunity to climb the wall!
>Mai runs out the door, heading for the main gate. o.o
>Cloud waits outside the walls.
>Mai blinks at the drink in her hands suddenly and ergs, chucking it up and over
the outer wall
>Ryan gets clonked on the head right as he peeks over @.o *whump* *thud*
>After several moments, a large regiment of guards begin to walk out from the
direction of the Pagoda... with Godo in the front.
>Cloud says, "... ... ..."
>Mai pushes at the gate, trying to push it open.
>Mai. o O (This thing's heavier than it looks)
>Cloud runs over to Ryan. "Ryan???"
>Ryan twitches on the ground a moment before leaping to his feet. "I'm... okay!"

>Ryan walks over to the front gate. Climbing the wall did not seem to work.
>Mai looks over her shoulder and *gulps* as she sees the big cheese appear in
the city o.o;;
>Godo raises his voice, booming across the city. "Will the one called 'KIM'
show herself."

>Ryan heard that O.o He quickly tries to open the gates, pulling hard.
>The gates are locked *tight*
>Cloud joins Ryan in tugging.

>Mai dashes away from the gate right at that moment, diving behind some tall
grass
>Cloud hands the sword to Ryan quickly.
>Ryan is going to take the 'gordian knot' route

>Godo frowns, then yells again. "Show yourself. I am Godo, Fifth God of the
Pagoda of the Five Gods... I request your aid."
>Ryan RUNS the blade through whatever lock is present, giving a twist or two if
need be

>The gate snaps...
>Ryan hands the sword back, slightly chipped n.n;
>Mai stands up in the grass
>Cloud says, "... ... ..." as he takes his sword back.
>A group of guards break away from the mass, moving towards Mai.
>Mai gulps o.o;
>Mai pulls out her staff
>Ryan swings the gates open. Probably a stupid idea - see 'angry natives' from
any Indiana Jones movie
>Mai. o O (Oh yah. A stick that I don't know how to use. This is going to be
helpful)
>Mai looks at the gate o.o;
>Mai. o O (...)
>Another regiment of soldiers break off to surround the gate, while Godo steps
towards Mai. "... are you Kim?"
>Mai was standing just inside the gate, right?
>Mai was indeed..

>Cloud puts the sword back in his scabbard. Ryan, grab her already!

>Suddenly, all the pits behind Cloud and Ryan collapse as dozens of shinobi leap
up from the holes...
>Ryan blinks. Goodie! Minions! Ryan puts on his goon-smackin' gloves...
>Cloud pulls out his sword quickly, turning to employ the back-to-back technique
with Ryan.
>Break out the can o' whoop ass
>My fist is just SO attracted to your face, y'know?

>Godo frowns, then shouts. "STOP." He seems to grow taller, more imposing...
>Cloud says, "..."
>Mai blinkblinks, rubbing her head @.o
>Ryan blinks as the ninja stop in their tracks. "...?"

>Godo speaks again, his eyes seeming to glow with an inner light. "... you said
before, you sought to help my daughter... if this is true, you three *will*
come with me..."

>Mai asks, "Help your daughter?"
>A murmur passes between the ninjas as they all begin to give dagger glares at
Cloud, Ryan, and Kim. =.= Apparantly, they don't lik the idea of Yuffie being
helped. o.o

>Mai erks o_o;;
>Ryan cracks his knuckles, just in case o.o;
>Mai n.n; smiling sweetly in fear for her kneecaps
>Godo nods, firmly. "Yes... they have told me that she is wounded, and that they
know of her whereabouts..." He crosses his arms. "... if you heal her... *and*
return her to me... you will be allowed to live, today..."
>Mai says, "My, what a...sweet deal. n.n;"

>Cloud . o O ( And what about tomorrow? )
>Mai says, "We..would like to heal your daughter, sir."

>Godo nods again, then gestures for the group to follow. "Wise choice. Now
follow... we must make it to the cave of Fire, quickly..."

>Mai nods, "Yes sir."
>Cloud sticks REALLY close to Godo now. o.o
>Ryan . o O ( Remember: this was all CLOUD's idea )
>Mai follows Godo, QUITE closely

>Ryan doesn't seem as intimidated by the ninja's. He's taken those out before.
But he follows Godo anyway o.o;
>All the ninjas seem to be sharpening their blades... in fact, some are even
coating theirs with a bubbling green substance that steams... c.c;
>Godo leads the large group towards the mountain, and up the path, towards the
cave...
>Mai says, "..." following Godo without a word. Who knows, maybe this will work
out in the end. Not for us neccisarily, but...

>Finally, the group reaches the cave. Godo waves for the ninjas to back off,
allowing the three to enter first....
>Cloud lets Ryan go first because he's the one with the experience.

>Mai steps past Cloud, following Ryan if he does indeed go first. Otherwise,
she's not afraid to take the lead.
>Ryan does go first, yup. It's hot in there, yup.
>Cloud goes second, sweating just a bit.
>Mai. o O (Please let this be from a hot spring) wiping some sweat off her
forehead)
>Within the cave, the entire path before you is blocked off by a tremendous wall
of flame, which gives off a magical aura. Godo stands several feet before it,
sweat beading on his brow. "..." He turns to face the three, nodding. "...
so... how will you pass this?"
>Mai O.O;
>Ryan says, "Well... I could get power armor... but that'd take weeks..."
>Cloud rubs his neck. "We're not sure, but..." He turns to Kim. "I thought you
might have some ideas."
>Mai. o O (Fire...why did it have to be fire?)
>Mai looks at Cloud o.o;
>Ryan sweatdrops. Or just sweats. Whatever.
>Far beyond the flames, you can barely make out a statue of a six-armned man,
holding a reddish materia in one hand.
>Mai looks down, "My expertise is water. My brother is the fire expert." -.-;
>Cloud asks, "Can you douse the fires, at least?"
>Mai says, "Well...if I had some source of water."
>Mai says, "I can't just make it out of thin air."
>Cloud asks, "How much would you need?"
>Godo nods. "There is an undergroud stream of water, several hundred yards
beneath us..."
>Mai asks, "Not much. I can duplicate what I ha--a stream?"
>Godo nods, silently.
>Mai looks down, dropping down into a kneeling position, placing her hand on the
ground.
>Cloud decides to steer clear of the cave entrance, if he's right about what Kim
will do.
>Mai says, "You're right...it's way down there."
>Ryan watches, arms crossed. Nothing he can do here...
>Mai says, "My other brother could bust this floor right open for me..."
>Godo watches Mai quietly, his arms crossed with his back to the flames.
>Mai stands up
>Mai says, "But since he's not here..."
>Ryan asks, "How deep is it?"
>Mai puts a hand to her head . o O (So much pressure. Oy, this is gonna hurt)
>Cloud hmmms..., checking his materia inventory. "Kim..."
>Mai says, "About 700 yards, maybe 8..."
>Mai looks at cloud
>Ryan curses. None of the grenades he's carrying will go that deep. -.-
>Cloud says, "... I have an Earth Materia. Let me see if I can help."
>Mai says, "Earth? O_O That's perfect. That's the same power my brother
carries."
>Ryan says, "Yeah, those materia thingies do come in handy. I guess."
>Cloud moves over, so that Earth won't affect the cave. He draws his sword,
concentrating.
>Mai says, "Just like...a crevice, a crack, anything that'll make bringing up
the water easier."
>Cloud concentrates, casting Earth... using the ground around him to pelt
something, like, oh, the remnants of the wyvern.
>Ryan . o O ( I can do that. I just dont want to. )
>Mai says, "..." watching, feeling the power of the stream below growing
stronger.
>Cloud waits till the spell is done, then looks towards Kim, as if asking if
that's enough...
>Mai nods to Cloud, holding out her hands, palms down, closing her eyes -.-
>Cloud moves out of the way for Kim to do her job.
>Ryan watches silently. "..."
>The ground begins to rumble beneath everyone's feet. More so than when the
earth spell was being cast. Rising water pushing up through rock isn't as neat
and ordered as a carefully cast spell. The splashing grows louder and louder,
as Kim begins to sweat. Her face shows the strain pulling on her from bringing
such a large amount of liquid up such a height.
>Ryan blinks, taking another step back
>Mai's teeth ground tightly together as the splashing grows loud enough to be
mistaken for a river. Kim's eyes suddenly burst wide open as the reverse
waterfall breaks free of the rock, sending small pebbles and stones flying in
all directions, as well as many many droplets of H20.
>Mai shouts loudly as the gravity defying stream swerves in its upward path,
flying head on at the wall of flame, crashing into it with powerful force, and
instantly filling the room with steam.
>Ryan is glad he's outside with Cloud, but that steam doesn't look good. "Kim!?"
>Cloud says, "Kim!"
>Mai hasn't ceased her work yet, keping the water flowing from below as the
veins on her body begin to stand out, her eyes widening in the steam, trying to
see through it better.
>Ryan tries to go back into the cave, but the steam is too hot. "...!"
>Cloud looks back, trying to see if casting ice on the steam might help dampen
the fire some more.
>Mai's flying stream begins to waver, losing some of its force, matching the
status of its controller.
>Ryan curses loudly, about a hair from charging in there himself and pulling Kim
out... "Kim!?"
>Mai shouts out of the steam, her voice a bit shaky, "I'm okay!"
>Ryan relaxes, slightly... but stays near the mouth of the cave
>Cloud calls out, "Kim? Do you need me to cast Ice?"
>Mai exclaims, "I..I don't know!"
>Without a word, Cloud moves over, another green materia starting to glow. He
murmurs quietly, "Ice 2", directing it towards the flying steam.
>The steam crystallizes, freezing in the form of shards of ice. The fire puts
up a vicious fight, but begins to slowly die down, its magical energies growing
weak.
>Cloud puts the sword back in his scabbard.
>Ryan walks in as soon as the steam starts to clear
>Mai is still standing in the same position you left her, the water has stopped
flowing. She does have some pretty nasty looking burns on her body. The
downside of being a water elemental, that polar opposite of fire can be very
hazardous to your health.
>The flames flicker down to mere candlelights along the floor, droplets of hot
water coating the cave walls. The room is still hot, but this time at a more
bearable temperature. The atmosphere itself is incredibly humid, for obvious
reasons.
>Ryan walks over to Kim. "You okay?"
>Mai says, "I feel like burnt toast >.<"
>Cloud says, "We better hurry and get the materia before the fires come back."
>Ryan sweatdrops. "I'll take that as a 'yes'." He looks around, pulling out a
flashlight and probing deeper into the cooling cave
>Cloud follows the treasure hunter, as he probably will sniff it out.
>Alhana pages, "Why would Tifa... o.o" to Cloud, Derek, Lyrae, you and Tifa.
>Mai lowers her arms slowly, biting her lip hard ass she begins to hobble
forward past the former blockage.
>Godo nods, though he remains expressionless. "... good job..." He quietly
steps past the tiny flames, moving towards the altar.
>My, look at that big pile of gold in the corner... too bad it's melted into one
huge mass. c.c
>Ryan blinks. I got the treasure first! Me!
>So? Can always re-melt it ^-^
>Mai walks into the cave behind the other two, wincing with each step.
>Mai. o O (Science lesson for today I suppose)
>It's a good ton of gold. c.c
>Mai shouts into the cave, "Did you find it?"
>Ryan says, "Hey... Cloud? Lemme see that sword again." Luckily, gold is soft.
>Godo reaches out and takes the materia, wincing slightly at its heat. He nods,
gruffly, then turns back to Kim, walking to her. "... you will have to return
to Yuffie alone... I can not leave the island..."
>Mai blinks at Godo and nods
>Mai says, "I..I understand sir."
>Cloud hands Ryan the sword.
>Ryan happily chops off a few fist-sized chunks n.n
>Godo hands over the materia, nodding. "... when Yuffie is well, bring her back
to me..."
>Ryan pockets a few of the chunks. He addresses Cloud and Kim, "When's the
flight back?"
>Mai closes her hand painfully around the sphere, "I'll do my best.."
>Cloud returns the sword to his scabbard. If Ryan can get past customs with the
gold...
>Who said anything about customs? I'm calling Ace, darn it!
>Godo pauses for a moment. "... have you heard of my son...?"
>Ryan blinks. No response, he's said enough for now.
>Cloud doesn't say anything.
>Mai says, "..."
>Mai says, "I've heard...some...sir."
>Mai asks, "Why do you ask?"
>Ryan pulls a phone from his backpack. A big, bulky, but portable satellite
phone.

to a hover several feet above the group. A rope ladder is tossed over the side.

the firearms. So they begin to throw them at the helicopter. ^_^;

City Square
Welcome to the middle of the sleepy (yeah, right), humble mountain city of
Midgaard. The peaks that surround the somewhat smallish sprawl of
constructions about you appear a vibrant, cool purple at this distance..capped
with off-white snow at the tops. Although the town itself recieves little
precipitation from being sheltered by this atol of sheer rock, a cold wind does
comb and filter its way through..providing a brisk, though arid, atmosphere.
On the southwestern pointing end of town, a small, manmade pass in the
mountain valley allows for easy access from the bustling world outside. To
your north and west are the commercial districts..manufacturing, shipping, and
selling various consumable goods. In the east, to the 'horizon', appear to be
homes of various architectural influences..the more wealthy of said houses
bordering a small alpine lake and park. To the south, the middle-class homes
continue, thinning out just before the open gap to the highway beyond.
As for where you stand..it is the Midgaard City Square..Several government
offices and the larger buildings can be found on the sides of the slightly
misnomered elliptical, cobblestoned intersection. No actual automobile traffic
passes here, being routed through the side streets..this is a strictly
pedestrian and bicycle zone. A large, granite fountain with a statue of Odin
atop it towers nearly two stories prominantly in the center. There are also
benches about for taking a quiet repose from the hustle of daily life.

The apartment buildings and hotels give way to smaller, less expensive and
privately owned buildings of like sort. Then those eventually dwindle to what
you find on either side of you now. Yes, various scents of delicious food of a
wide assortment of styles, flavours, and nationalities entices your olfactorial
senses..attempting to lure you in for a bite, or five. Make no mistake,
however. It doesn't come as cheap as those fast food places around southern
Tyr Road..though you'll definately appreciate the higher quality. At a point
up ahead, the road and street becomes an unpaved trail, towards the start of
the steep walls that the mountain atol surrounding Midgaard creates. A deep
gorge carved by forces long forgotten and lost to legend is to the west
here..and a suspension bridge has been erected so that pedestrians might take a
stroll across it to Sif Way to the east, and marvel at it.

Seventh Heaven Bar - Main Room
Tifa's Seventh Heaven Bar has a campy feeling to it, primarily constructed of
dark wood with occasional items for decoration. Several worn tables grace the
area near the door, looking beaten up from years of patrons. The bar is more
well kept, stocked with a vast amount of alcoholic beverages and components for
mixed drinks. The room is just a tad dimly lit, feeling cozy and familiar at
the same time. Other areas of interest are the entrance to the kitchen, and a
porch with some comfy chairs. All in all, the Seventh Heaven is a nice tribute
to what someone can put together for a business if they try. A machine for a
game similar to pinball sits on the less used side of the room, sporting an
"Out of Order" sign. Most of the damage that was obvious only a little while
ago is now repaired with more permenant fixes, so the bar once again is back to
it's former self.

Odin Street Church: Sanctuary(#1639RA)
The tall stained glass windows of the old building flood the room with a soft
light. Your ears hear every creak and bend as you step across the old wooden
floor. This once joyous place of worship has recently been cleaned,
refurbished, and remodeled into a fine place to live. The floors are dust
free, the pews are in straight lines, and even some of the old wood has been
removed and replaced. Electric lights hanging overhead hum with energy,
glowing at night, thanks to a small white generator located in the corner. A
personal computer is also located in that corner as well, with a sticker on the
side 'Property of Skuld'. A portion of the wooden floor is still broken away,
revealing a patch of wild flowers growing in the center of the room. It's a
cute little addition to the quaint atmosphere here.

Odin Street Church: Bedroom(#1886RA)
Hardly one'd expect to see a bedroom in a church, but there it is.. It's
obviously only just started out, as there is evidence of repair work being
done. Sawdust lies in little piles in a corner of the room and along the edges,
fresh cedar wood replacing the rotted wood that termites had chewed through. To
the right of the area that's been marked for a set of doors is a round table
made of mahogany, dusty and beaten up, but also in the process of repair. Four
chairs are placed, upside down, on this table. By the window, which overlooks
the cemetary, leaning against the wall are two raggedy mattresses with just
enough stuffing to be comfortable. The room itself, once you look around, is
fairly large, as if it had been a library at one point. Instead of books,
however, it seems to be plates and silverware on the shelves mostly. A dark
navy rug covers the wide area of the floor, with silver 'stars' woven into the
rug, resembling a starfield.

>Cloud says, "... Tifa..." as he heads over to stand before her. "..." Then he
turns back to watch Kim do her magic.
>Janus walks over beside his sister a moment later, and he looks over towards
her slowly, and nods. He looks to Yuffie, and then back to Lyrae as he sets a
hand on her shoulder. "She'll be fine," he murmurs softly, and looks back to
Yuffie.

>Lyrae closes her eyes and prays silently with Kim, resting her hands in her lap.

>Tifa folds her arms and stares at the group, wondering what the hell's going on.
>Eden's eyes widen at the glowing stone.

>Kigou stands beside Eden, whispering something to her...

>Mai's form begins to flicker beneath the glow, and quickly her appearance is
lost as her body goes transparent, quickly fading out as another takes its
place...that of a majestic beast, a powerful, beautiful bird.

>Lyrae opens her eyes and gasps softly ..

>Janus just continues to watch carefully, while he keeps his hand on Lyrae's
shoulder for comfort.
>Eden stares in astonishment, not sure whether to disbelieve or simply admire
the bird.
>The phoenix gently unfolds her wings, shimmers of flaming wreathing about her
crimson form. Her head raises, jewelled eyes focusing on the dying form before
her. Then, suddenly, she spreads her wings wide, revealing bright feathers as
a rainbow halo fills the room.

>Ryan stares wide-eyed. "Hoo-boy."
>Eden says, "It's beautiful..."
>Derek watches, narrowing his eyes so they don't go wide in some idiotic
expression . o O ( Sheeeeeeesh... )
>Kigou nods, resting a hand on Eden's shoulder. "..."
>Lyrae watches the sight in amazement, then looks towards Janus with a smile,
waiting until he looks elsewhere before she flashes Derek a warmer smile.
>Yuffie's form is bathed in glimmering iridescence as the creature's
invigorating flames fills her frail form. The room fills with the sensations
of life, death, and rebirth, as healing energy begins to surge through the
group.

>Janus notices that warmer smile, though. Just makes him want to kill Derek

>Lyrae looks back to Yuffie, watching her carefully.
>Eden gasps, suprised, and backs into the wall.

Odin Street Church: Sanctuary(#1639RA)
The tall stained glass windows of the old building flood the room with a soft
light. Your ears hear every creak and bend as you step across the old wooden
floor. This once joyous place of worship has recently been cleaned,
refurbished, and remodeled into a fine place to live. The floors are dust
free, the pews are in straight lines, and even some of the old wood has been
removed and replaced. Electric lights hanging overhead hum with energy,
glowing at night, thanks to a small white generator located in the corner. A
personal computer is also located in that corner as well, with a sticker on the
side 'Property of Skuld'. A portion of the wooden floor is still broken away,
revealing a patch of wild flowers growing in the center of the room. It's a
cute little addition to the quaint atmosphere here.

Some of the homes here, unlinke those to the west, appear to have been erected
in rather recent years. Though larger than their elder counterparts, and
containing more modern accomidations, they are no less stylish and do not
detract from the appearance of their neighbours. The contrast might even be
considered healthy. Immediately to the east, a turn north and south and
estates with large mansions bordering it on the eastern edge of the walk mark
the end of Odin Avenue. Also, to your south here, through some wrought iron
gating..is quite oviously a cemetary. It isn't spooky as you think one should
be..far from it..it seems a peaceful, sunny area to be laid to rest.

light surrounds the large area, with short blades of grass covering the dirt.
Slightly behind you, standing proudly in spite of its condition, is the Odin
Street church. You notice a large hole in the roof of it, giving access to and
from the cemetary if you're not entering from the street. A narrow grey
pathway navigates the area around the tombstones and markers indicating various
places where the dead are laid to rest, most with a loving note from family and
friends. Fresh flowers are laid upon each grave, while several trees outline
the area. Despite the peaceful seeming nature of the cemetary, you get the
distinct feeling that you're trespassing.. and that you should leave. Quickly.
