Odin Street Church: Sanctuary(#1639RA)
The tall stained glass windows of the old building flood the room with a dusty
light. Your ears hear every creak and bend as you step across the old wooden
floor. This once joyous place of worship has long since fallen into a state of
disrepair, yet through the dirt and the cobwebs the atmosphere remains bright
and comforting. A portion of the wooden floor is even broken away, revealing a
patch of wild flowers growing in the center of the room.

[Players : Cloud, Urd, Derek, Lyrae, and Belldandy ]
[Sleepers: Kim, and Skuld ]
[Things : None ]
>Lyrae shall stay behind Derek thanks o.o;; as she watches people walking in n.n;
>Belldandy looks up at the new arrivals, nodding to Cloud..and then frowning a
little at the other one. "You." she murmurs softly.
>Prophet didn't exactly walk in, mind you. He was just standing near the door
when you looked over
>Lyrae . o O ( What's he doing here? o.o; )
>Cloud says, "... hello." He notes Derek and Lyrae. "I... was checking on you."
He blinks at Belldandy's reaction, then nearly jumps away from Magus, hand
reflexively going for his sword.
>Prophet . o O ( Two divine forces... they might as well just send up signal
flares. )
>Derek nods to Cloud, then looks over his shoulder at Lyrae with a 'you okay?'
sorta glance..
>Lyrae blinkblinks at Derek, and nods meekly.
>Prophet says nothing. Yet. Apparently his whole purpose was to scare the
bejeezus out of you, though he does seem to be keeping a close eye on
Bell-sama..
>Cloud says, "... you again."
>Belldandy quietly walks over towards the cloaked figure, her skirt swirling
around her feet. She stops a few feet away from him and asks, "Do you seek
something, traveller?"
>Prophet says, in a deep voice, "I wish to speak to you about a certain
individual..."
>Belldandy clasps her hands in front of her, blinking suddenly several times as
if tired, "Very well. Please, come in."
>Lyrae glances towards Kim, finding that she's fallen asleep. She pauses a
moment and releases Derek's hand and walks to the pew she'd been sleeping in,
adjusting the blankets and the pillow quietly.
>Prophet raises an eyebrow, though it may be hard to tell under the hood. He
pauses, then does, actually, come in, walking down the main isle towards the
altar.
>Derek just now realizes what he was doing and reaches up to rub at the sore
spot at the back of his head again *9_9*
>Lyrae walks over to Kim and kneels, positioning her arms around her friend and
huffs slightly as she picks the girl up and walks back to the pew.
>Cloud rubs his neck, approaching Derek, leaving Magus to talk to Belldandy.
"... I see you both are well."
>Lyrae glances at Cloud as she settles Kim into the pew, tucking her in and
making sure she's comfortable. "...well enough." She pats Kim on the head
lightly, and leans back with her hands clasped behind her back.
>Derek nods, watching Lyrae for the time being, "For now.."
>Belldandy stops by the straightened alter, "Whom did you wish to speak about?"
>Prophet slows as he approaches the altar, speaking in a deep monotone. "I
assumed it was obvious..."
>Prophet extends his arm to the side, throwing the cloak over his shoulders. He
reaches up, and pulls back the hood, revealing him for who he truly is. Those
knowledgeable in such things will instantly recognize him as Magus.
>Magus says, in a deep voice, "...Esmerelda, of course."
>Lyrae leans down absently and lifts the silver pendant around Kim's neck
slightly, not removing it..just looking at it.
>Belldandy nods once, resting her hands on the alter. In fact, using it for
support, "What concern is Esmerelda to you? Right now she is held in check."
>Magus rubs his chin with his gloved hand as he ponders a moment. "But I doubt
she will remain in such a state indefinately... and she has allies."
>Belldandy nods, looking around her, "As do I. If you've come to offer
your help as well, it will not be turned away. May I ask your name?""
>Magus says, in a deep voice, "... I am the Magus."
>Derek asks, "(OOC) Just 'The Magus'? Not 'The Supreme Magus'..or 'Killer
Magus'..or even 'The Villian Formerly Known As Magus'?"
>Lyrae (OOC) claps a hand over Derek's mouth, "Hush dear ^_^;;"
>Magus (OOC) Henceforth, I shall be known as this symbol:
>Urd says, "(OOC) The Villain Formerly known as Janus, actually, isn't it? ^_-"
>Lyrae (OOC) *giggles at Magus* n.n
>Derek crosses his arms and shakes his head, then decides to go work on the
plumbing some more..
>Cloud tilts his head, towards Magus and Belldandy, watching silently.
>Lyrae (OOC) nodnods ^_^;; "One of the Jani anyway n.n"
>Magus (OOC) sniffles. "I came first..."
>Lyrae (OOC) grins
>Urd walks up to stand by Belldandy. "All right, you're the Magus. What does tht
mean?"
>Lyrae watches Derek go quietly, then sits beside Kim, crossing her arms and
watching the others warily.
>Magus narrows his eyes, but seems to have no aversion to answering. "I am
learned in everything arcane."
>Belldandy looks at her sister, "Urd. Please, let him speak."
>Urd shrugs. o.o "Hey, I just thought I'd speed things along.."
>Magus crosses his arms. "Esmerelda is a threat . o O ( To my plans) to
everyone in this city. That should be reason enough for me to want to see . o
O ( her head on my mantle ) her stopped."
>Urd shrugs.. "Kami knows a little more help can't hurt."
>Belldandy listens to Magus' words, then sighs, "I agree with you on that
matter. However, to confront her directly would be a terrible mistake."
>Magus hmmphs. "In her current condition, it would be an easy matter..." He
looks up. "But I cannot track her now."
>Derek mutters again and there's some racket from where he went off to..
>Urd says, "You sure about that, Belldandy? I mean, a campfire left burning is
eventually gonna set the forest ablaze..."
>Urd says, "Maybe the time to put out the fire is now while it's burnig dim."
>Belldandy looks at Urd and manages a smile, "The idea is to make sure the fire
is contained first, Urd. Then you can work on putting it out." She looks over
to Lyrae and Kim, "Right now this fire still has a branch hanging over it that
it can spread to."
>Urd looks at the girls. "Oh.."
>Lyrae shrinks back a bit.
>Magus . o O ( Feh. Those weak children are little more then her pawns... if she
can be killed first, they will be irrelavent... )
>Cloud looks off towards where Derek went, and then looks at Lyrae. "I'll go
check on him."
>Lyrae glances at Cloud, and nods silently. o.o
>Cloud heads off to see to Derek.
>Derek is in the bathroom, Cloud. Muttering and playing with the pipes >_<
>Urd says, "Anyway... am I needed for anything else? If not, I want to go set up
my chem equipment."
>Lyrae sighs softly and leans over, resting her head against her hands.
>Magus . o O ( Hmm... she was the one who set up the ward... That may come in
useful. )
>Cloud enters the bathroom. Anything else can be posed by Derek.
>Urd says, "I'll be cleaning up the back room.. s'cuse me."
>Belldandy says, "No, thank you Urd. Good luck."
>Urd steps through the small door into the back room of the church.
>Urd has left.
>Magus doesn't comment as Urd makes her departure
>Derek calls out, "Oh, hey Strife. Hey, you wanna hand me that wrench over
there?" "This one?" "No, the other one. Yeah, that's it." Silence, and then,
"Aw, cripes! It still doesn't fit!"
>Magus says, in a deep voice, ".........................."
>Belldandy looks back at the commotion <.< . o O ( Oh my. )
>Lyrae tilts her head to one side, listening to the boys. "..." She shakes her
head o O ( I knew I should've called the plumber. )
>Derek grumbles, then laughs, "Wait, ah hah! THERE we go.."
>Lyrae idly pulls her lyre into her lap, watching the remaining people warily in
silence.
>Magus raises his right fist. "The plan is simple. When Esmerelda is freed,
simply keep her occupied, wear her down, then I will destroy her."
>Lyrae . o O ( ..... I knew there was a reason I didn't trust him. )
>Lyrae . o O ( He talks exactly the way dad does.. )
>Belldandy gives Magus a calm stare, then sighs, "That will be difficult. It
will take a day of rest for my strength to return."
>Magus narrows his eyes. "... That will be a problem, especially if she calls in
her allies."
>Lyrae glances at Kim.
>Belldandy asks, "That could be a problem. Which is why we should gather our own
as well in case she does, correct?"
>Magus rubs his chin. "... Correct." . o O ( It will be difficult to persuade
the others to attend... )
>Derek sticks his head out the doorway, waving a wrench in his other hand, "I
got the water working finally." he grins, "but now I've gotta patch up the
wall.."
>Lyrae looks towards Derek, "Th..the wall?"
>Derek nods, then looks sheepishly at the floor, "Well, I had to get at the
pipes somehow, right? Don't worry, the hole's not that big. And it's not even
in the shower wall, it's on the other side of the wall.."
>Lyrae quietly says, "O..oh o.o;"
>Magus doesn't even bother to acknowledge this conversation...
>Belldandy sighs, looking in two directions. One towards the back where Urd went
and the other towards wherever Skuld is. Then she puts a hand to her temple, "I
think I need to rest now, so when my sisters are ready to help Kim I can guide
them."
>Lyrae glances at Belldandy measuringly, bites her lip, nodding, "T..T..Thank
you."
>Derek grins, waving the wrench, "Hey, you can take hot showers now though." And
with that he ducks back into the other room
>Magus nods. "Very well..." . o O ( Her weaknesses might work against me in
the end... but I will use her while I can... )
>Lyrae blinks o O ( I wish he wouldn't wave that wrench like that.. he could
hurt someone o.o )
>Belldandy nods and smiles tiredly at Lyrae, "Thank us after we've saved Kim,
dear." She walks down to a pew and lies down, taking a nap.
>Belldandy has disconnected.
>Lyrae gets up and takes one of the spare blankets, tucking it over the sleeping
goddess before scooting back to where she was before
>Cloud comes back out of the bathroom, shaking dust off his head.
>Are you sure that's dust?
>Magus turns, and starts to walk out, pausing as he passes Lyrae and Kim, giving
them a very sinister observation...
>Derek calls out, "Sorry about that, Cloud! A little plaster never hurt anyone.."
>Lyrae places a hand on Kim's arm as she notes Magus' observation. "..."
>Lyrae . o O ( Oh I'm trusting him less and less..what's that look for anyway? )
>Magus . o O ( Surrounded by weaklings... perhaps this world is doomed if even
the divine are faulty... )

You exit the building, returning to the street.
Odin Avenue [500]
Some of the homes here, unlinke those to the west, appear to have been erected
in rather recent years. Though larger than their elder counterparts, and
containing more modern accomidations, they are no less stylish and do not
detract from the appearance of their neighbours. The contrast might even be
considered healthy. Immediately to the east, a turn north and south and
estates with large mansions bordering it on the eastern edge of the walk mark
the end of Odin Avenue. Also, to your south here, through some wrought iron
gating..is quite oviously a cemetary. It isn't spooky as you think one should
be..far from it..it seems a peaceful, sunny area to be laid to rest.

>Magus steps back. He takes a moment to survey the surroundings, then chants - a
second later a dark portal opens behind the wizard, and he simply steps back
into it, with both him and the portal disappearing after.
