Zoicite turns to her love, the General Malachite, with her desperation, wondering when her Queen will finally get tired of Nephlite's failures.  In the meantime,  Luna also believes that the Princess' Crystal might be the lost Silver Crystal, and that the Princess herself might be the one from the Moon that the Scouts have been sworn to protect.  Serena, with the Luna Pen, is able to get into the ball to try to find the Crystal, but is proccupied when she spots Tuxedo Mask seeking out the same thing.  A recurring dream tells Darien to find the Imperium Crystal, but he can never tell who is the one asking.  Meanwhile, Molly, who was invited to the ball, is spotted by Maxfield Stanton.  Since she doesn't remember anything from their last encounter, she is quickly wooed over by the debonair gentleman.  Nephlite uses this opportunity to try to get the Crystal, using his essence through Molly, then the Princess Diamond, to succeed.  Sailor Moon appears on the scene and destroys the essence.  Also, the crystal that Princess Diamond has is not the Imperium Silver Crystal, so Nephlite is spared, for the moment.

Molly's Folly - Now spliting his efforts between finding the Imperium Crystal and trying to defeat the Sailor Scouts, Nephlite uses the powers of the stars to create a special devise, called the Star Crystal, to find the Imperium Crystal's exact whereabouts. Zoicite and Malachite, fearing that Nephlite might be on to something, send one of the Negaverse creatures to keep an eye on him. The Star Crystal gives off strange reading on Molly, which surprises Nephlite, since she cannot be Sailor Moon.  He figures her to be the key in finding the Crystal and as Maxfield Stanton, he is able to woo her again, since Molly still doesn't remember anything that Nephlite has done to her, and convince her that he's in trouble and in need of the Imperium Crystal.  Thinking she knows what it is, she goes to her mother's jewlery store and steals what she believes to be the one.  Serena, who tried earlier in the day to convince Molly that Stanton was no good (since she and the Scouts knew that Maxfield is actually Nephlite) is told by Molly's mother of what has happened and goes after her friend.  The Scouts arrive on the scene and make their move against Nephlite.  He is caught off-guard and Sailor Moon uses her tiara to defeat the Negaverse general.  But Molly, now realizing what she had was more than a crush, stepped in to protect Nephlite, getting Sailor Moon to call off her tiara.  Zoicite's creature takes this opportunity to attack the supposed traitor and Molly, thinking that Nephlite's Star Crystal is really the Imerium Crystal.  Sensing the danger, Nephlite protects Molly and with Sailor Moon's help is able to defeat the monster.  Nephlite retreats, but is now having an inner conflict.

A Friend in Wolf's Clothing - (Note:  there is no way I can possibly do justice to this episode.  If you have seen it, you will know what I mean.  If you have not yet seen this, please try to- Blkcloak)  Still recieving a signal from the Star Crystal that Molly has something to do with the Imperium Crystal, Nephlite desides once again to play on Molly's personal feelings towards him and confronts her.  He reveals his identity and asks for help in finding Sailor Moon, saying he wishes to help them.  Zoicite sees all this and comes to believe that Nephlite has now turned against the Negaverse.  Molly, even though she has no idea who Sailor Moon is, calls Serena with her problems.  Overhearing her, Nephlite believes that Serena is Sailor Moon and moves out to confront her.  As he leaves, Zoicite sends three of her own warriors to capture Nephlites love interest so to exchange her for his Star Crystal.  As Serena is on her way to Molly's, she makes her transformation to Sailor Moon, not realizing Nephlite was watching her.  He confonts her with that knowledge and is ready to go all out when Tuxedo Mask comes to the rescue again.  This is not the reason, however, Nephlite breaks of his attack.  He sences Molly's cry for help and follows his heart.  He rescues Molly, but is injured in the cause.  Molly drags him to the park and tends for his wounds.  While they are talking, Nephlite goes through a transformation, without physically showing one.  His true feelings of love and compasion are revealed.  It's then that Zoicite's warriors attack again, and in the battle they fatally wound Nephlite, who was trying to protect Molly from harm.  Zoicite grabes the Star Crystal and leaves, just as the Scouts arrive to defeat her warriors.  It's too late for Nephlite and with his final breaths lets Sailor Moon that her secret will remain safe, then professes what love he had for Molly.  He finally fails and begins to fade, not in a pile of dust, like the foul creatures of the Negaverse, but into a sea of stars.  Molly loses her love right in her arms.
