What is a career, and what is just a job?
Is mine a career or a job?

Is it really an jungle at workplace?
Have you heard about office politics?
What are organizational behaviors?
Do you know about formal and informal organizations?
Do you belong to any faction or power structure?
Are you in the loop or out of the loop?
What is the grapevine?
What is your color?
Do you have a mentor or proteges?
What is your style:  alliance, lone wolf, competition, out of the world?
What are your boss' and coworkers' wild animal types?  (bull, pig, snake, monkey, elephant, lion, wolve, horse, sheep, bat, spider, ...)
Do you have people/political/diplomatic skills, in addition to job skills?
Have you heard/witnessed how sex get involved in power play?
Are you sensitive to conflicts of interest at workplace?
Are they collegues, enemies, or both?
Do you smile a lot, or rare?
Do you know how to dress for work success?
Do you do small talks?

When independent work is allowed, and when teamwork is the rule?
How do you describe your workplace:  labor camp, robot workers, work hell, misery tower, dog fight, or work till death (retirement)?
Do you belong to the paradise class, the hell-not class, or somewhere in between?  Or I never thought about it?

How is your people performance, besides job performance?
"Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder."  Does it apply to your performance evaluation situations?

THE STRATEGIES

You need me more than I need you?  (psychology warfare)

Private or public sector?  (main street vs. people street)

Self-employed or employee?  (master vs. robot)

Find a worthy industry?  (pick a prosperous landscape)

Find a worthy company?  (an unsinkable carrier, or a rocket)

Find a worthy department?  (core competence vs. cost center)

Find a worthy boss?  (king maker vs. slave master)

Find worthy coworkers?  (win-win vs. win-lose)

Find a worthy job?  (love vs. hate)

Be ready to change mind within 3 months?  (You can't stay 30 forever.)

How to resign without hurting anybody including yourself?  (Better yet, make them love/need you even more.)

CAN  I  LIVE  WITHOUT  IT
