Megumi joined a group of a few others that shared her dream at an agency for voice-acting called Arts Vision. She was one of the top voice-celebrities at the Arts Vision, even today.

The first years of training, Hayashibara's emphasis was to have her character come to life, how to get the body in shape and have the characters know what they are feeling. But before she was destined to become a voice-celebrity, she attended a nursing school, because her parents didn't like the idea of thier daughter becoming a star -"My parents were against my being in the entertainment industry." Hayashibara says. "They were afraid it wasn't a very secure vocation."

While practicing to be a nurse at the school, Hayashibara had a hard time because of an arrogant receptionist. She became frustrated and stopped by a bookstore on the way home to get her mind off her hard day at work. She found an aricle about the voice-acting school. But it she had not been through that situation she might have still been studing to be a nurse.
