Rie Tomosaka in Hong Kong? Rie Tomosaka has arrived Hong Kong in summer 1996. She hopes to revisit Hong Kong again soon, but due to the amount of pressure of work she has, she is unable to fit some time to visit Hong Kong. Rie Tomosaka VS Eri Sakatomo Concert Yes it is true that Rie had a concert recently in Tokyo and Osaka, I have a copy of the VCD as well. This was 1997 Christmas. The concert was with a group of band called "Big Horn Bees" which consists of 5 professional musicians (usually planning the horn, trumpet, etc.) while Rie tomosaka acts as the vocalist. The concert was very successful, but the success comes from her last concert in 1996 Christmas, which was a mini-concert for Rie to gain experience. Rie's future wishes Rie hopes to hold a concert in Hong Kong as well, soon. This was because of her successful concert in Tokyo and Osaka, so she thought that having a concert in Hong Kong would be a good idea as well. Actor or singer? Well, Rie is both an actor and a singer. Her debut was in 1992, August, while her first drama was first broadcasted, and soon she became popular amongst Japanese. More and more people got to know who she was, then, "Emi CD company" offered her an opertunity to sing. This released "Escalation", her first single ever. How did her popularity spread into Hong Kong? "The Jikemro of Young Kindaichi" was the movie series which allowed Rie to show her real face in Hong Kong. This movie series is very well known, a horror murder case theme. (Chinese: GUM TIN YAT) Now Rie is one of the most popular Japanese stars in Hong Kong, and many magazines have her as front page girl, which shows her great acheivement in means of popularity.

Where is she famous? Rie concentrates her popularity and target area in 3 places: -Japan -Hong Kong -Taiwan The 2 pictures on the left shows the atmosphere of her fans waiting for her to arrive in Hong Kong Kai tak airport. The picture on the right is her new single, "koishiteru"(I'm falling love). It contains 3 or 4 songs, released on 13th May 1998. This new CD was release on the same day as Hirosue Ryoko. Presently, in Hong Kong, "koishiteru"(I'm falling love) ranks 4th in the HK-Japanese CD market. While it ranks 40th in Japan. This is shows a great acheivement from her already. Who is Hirosue Ryoko? (picture on the RIGHT) She is a major Rival of Rie Tomosaka. She is very popular as well in Japan and Hong Kong. She released her single on the same day as Rie Tomosaka as well for compition, as "let's see who wins..." The woman who win this battle will become a most great Idol in Japan. Gonna be fun? Who are they? Rie just recorded a song with a band, "Gonna be fun". This song can be downloaded here, called Birthday Party. She says that she feels more comfortable and better with a band, rather than with herself. She feels that the feeling of having support from other people while performing encourages her to sing better, while 2 guyz behind play the electric guitar. Is Rie a student or entertainer? Rie is both. Before, she has to go to school while acting in drama productions. She graduated a high school on Feb 14. She became a student of the Teikyo university on April. Now, she concentrates learning about drama and acting, as well as singing. She is going to become an excellent professional entertainer in Japan. Best wishes to Rie.
