Why worths visiting?

Kyuushuu is especially famous for its sceneries, springs and historical facts. Unlike Tokyo, Kyuushuu does not have many Theme parks where you can enjoy the roller coasters or other games. Kyuushuu is a better choice for relaxation and rest.

Each province at Kyuushuu have different 'landmarks':

Nagazaki

This is where one of the atomic bombs fell in August 1945. Therefore, one of the landmarks is the museum. Another one is the 平和公園,built for peace in the world.

Another key landmark in Nagasaki is the Huis Ten Bosch. It is a place which resembles Holland very much, with windmills, tulips and many western builidings. At night there is also a fireworks and laser show.

Fukuoka

This is the most city-like province in Kyuushuu. It is the place for shopping during the tour. At night, there are many small stalls for eating japanese noodles (raa-mien) along the road.

Kumamoto

It is famous for the Aso Volcano. This is an active volcano and you would see the volcano smoking from time to time. Not far from the volcano, there is an Aso Volcano Museum and people in this area are famous for eating fresh horse flesh.

Kagoshima

I did not spare much time at Kagoshima. Instead we took car ferry to Sakura Island where there is also an active volcano.

Miyazaki

鬼之洗板 is a place with a special natural scenery formed by rocks along the coastline.

復活島 is a place with 7 MAOMI statues, each representing different aspects of life.

My memories of Kyuushuu
This time, I went to Kyuushuu with my boyfriend, mother and brother. We joined tours there because we could not speak Japanese. I think we are quite lucky this time to have a good tour guide who makes the whole trips entertaining. The hotels throughout the trip was very good, although the food could have been better. I tried the japanese spring for the first time and no wonder why people always love that because it is really relaxing.

I think we are lucky to be able to see sakura during the trip through Kyuushuu. According to the tour guide, this year the sakura opens late at Kyuushuu. As those who went to Japan may know, sakura is a seasonal flower which opens during Spring. It starts to flower first at Kyuushuu at the end of March and will then continue to go northwise to Hokkaidoo in around May. Therefore it's lucky for us to see sakura in Mid-April at Kyushuu.

At the end of the trip, we were arranged to live in a very good hotel: the Palm Beach Resort, at Miyazaki. The hotel is just on the coast facing the Pacific ocean, In the morning, we can see the sun rising up in our rooms. Although I missed the entire sunrise at around 5:35a.m. but I was able to see the mid-rising sun. It's so beautiful!
