Ocean Park
Ocean Park is, at present, the biggest amusement park in Hong Kong. Ocean Park has provided much fun to Hong Kong people and all those who come from around the world since 1977. It was well know for its Dolphins' show and Seal's show originally. However, as thepark develops more and more facilities, the nowadays Ocean Park is much more than just 'talking about' animals in the ocean.
In my memory, I visited Ocean Park at least 3 times since my birth! The most recent visit was in May 2003. I found that a number of areas are new to me. Let's go and see what you can see at Ocean Park now...
Lowland Gardens
Here, you can see animals with different species around the world, and of course this include one of the super stars of Ocean Park, the pandas (Jia Jia and An An)!
- Panda Habitat : Better bring a coat with you in here...... it's coooooooold!!
- Amazing Amazon : You would feel like you've come to the Amazons. With a wooden suspended bridge and a 3D adventure waiting for you. Remember no to miss the bird show, that's fantastic!
- Dinosaurs : Information about the history of dinosaurs
- Goldfish Pagoda : You can find around 100 varieties of goldfish from China and Japan here.
- THe Butterfly House
Marine Land
Here there are a number of corners where you can learn about marine animals:
- Atoll Reef : A large variety of living creatures presented in a big 'aquarium'
- Shark Aquarium : Different species of sharks are presented here. You can even see them swimming beside or above you!!!
- Pacific Pier: this is where you can find the seals and sea lions
Headland Rides
After learning much much about land and marine animals, it's time for great fun and excitement. There are a number of rides available in this area where you can challenge yourself, challenge your heart.
- The Abyss Turbo Drop : Ever tried to fall off from a tower of 20-storeys high? If no, come to try it here.
- The Dragon : A roller coaster with a 360 degree
loop... haha, this is not for me! - The Flying Swing : You are being swung when you
are lifted 7 metres high! - The Crazy Galleon : Scream! This is the Pirate
ship at Ocean Park! - The Eagle Adventure Land More excitement with mechanical games here. - Mine train : The newest roller coaster at Ocean
