Keeping your Pokemon healthy: It's hard sometimes, but you can do it. You can always
return to your house and talk with your mom (who rests and heals your Pokemon). Do this if you
don't want to head to the other towns, but you still need a strong Pokemon.

Poison, Burn, Paralyzed, Freeze, Sleep: Later in the game, you'll notice that your
Pokemon will get hit by an attack and your Pokemon's level will be replaced with "PSN", "BRN",
"PAR", "FRZ", or "SLP". Save "SLP" and "PAR", all of these conditions will slowly whittle away
at your Pokemon's health. "SLP" keeps your Pokemon from doing anything until it wakes up and
"PAR" can keep your Pokemon from attacking. There are numerous forms of cures that you can buy
and use. Antidote cures "PSN", Burn Heal cures "BRN", Freeze/Ice Heal cures "FRZ", Awaken
cures "SLP", and Paralyze Heal cures "PAR". There are conditions that don't show up such as
Confusion (your Pokemon will either attack the enemy or itself). Luckily, some Pokemon, like
Voltorb and Electrode aren't affected by confusion at all (they're basically flying cueballs,
how can they hurt themselves?).

Should you cure a condition?: Not always. Your Pokemon can only be affected with one
condition at a time and sometimes an enemy can have an attack that will put your Pokemon into
another state (Note: Confusion and Rage do not count as curable and your Pokemon can be
affected by yet another status). Decide beforehand whether or not you should heal a condition.
"PAR" can stop your Pokemon from attacking at times, but otherwise, you can act like normal.
Also, you may not need to cure a status if your Pokemon can learn the Ice technique Haze. Haze
removes all statuses and returns both Pokemon to normal. This means your opposing Pokemon will
also get the benefit, but vice versa. A lot of high level Golbats and Water Pokemon learn this
technique.

My Pokemon is going to collapse!: Okay, go over to the PKMN and you'll see the chart of
all your Pokemon. Choose a stronger Pokemon and click on switch.

Hey! This guy just smashed my Pokemon!: That's because you should've have heard by now
that all the Pokemon in the game have weaknesses to certain attacks. Fire Pokemon like
Growlithe and Charmander are weak to water attacks. Grass Pokemon like Oddish/Bellsprout and
Bulbasaur are weak to fire attacks. Water Pokemon like Magikarp and Squirtle are weak to
grass/electric attacks. Rock Pokemon are weak to water and grass attacks, but also strong fire
attacks. Bug Pokemon are weak to Doduo and Spearow's PECK attack as well as fire attacks.

WHOA! My Pokemon just blazed through that battle!: When you have a Pokemon of the type
that beats the other Pokemon, your Pokemon will (most of the time) win without any problems.
It doesn't always come down to types too. Levels count as well, but don't count on Levels
either. There are occasions where your Pokemon will be at the advantage in levels and still
get the tar stomped out of them. For instance, Articuno (a bird/water Pokemon) battled my VERY
experienced Venusaur (Bulbasaur's final evolution) and my Pokemon still lost. Be careful and
stop every so often to build your Pokemon up. Otherwise, you'll get stuck wasting hours trying
to build your Pokemon up to a good level.
