========Pokemon HAHAHAHAHA!======== ========By A-kun======== ========Chapter 8: Saffron City Taken!======== Anything between * and * is translated Pokemon speech. Anything between [ and ] is thought Team Rocket members stood at the ready. They had trained for this moment, so that there wouldn't be that many people scrambling to get ready. They were dressed identically. They all had good, strong pokemon. They were ready. Groups of fifty or more piled into the planes that were going to take them over Saffron city. Then, they'd take over the city by capturing the most important buildings. Such as Silph Co. Once Giovanni got control of the city, they'd take Vermillion to the south. Then, Celadon and Fuschia. After that, there would no one and nothing that could stop their evil scheme. Giovanni waited until the guards in front of his door left before turning around in his chair to face the wall away from the door. Suddenly his face opened to reveal the face of a pokemon. "*Hmph. Fools. Little do they know that once we've succeeded in getting the Master Ball and making two more just like it, we won't need any of those pitiful humans and Pokemon will rule the world. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!*" laughed the evil pokemon. "*Boss, I forget. Why's we want Pokeballs? I thought they were evil things.*" asked the still-bruised Rhydon that "Giovanni" had used on Mt. Moon. "*They are evil. But we need one to capture a particular pokemon. And we need two more to keep two other meddling pokemon from interferring with our plans.*" the evil pokemon replied. "*What sorta pokemon do we need for that?*" the Rhydon inquired. "*We need... the PokeGod.*" the evil pokemon answered. "*Boss?*" the Rhydon asked. "*What?*" the evil pokemon inquired. "*What's a PokeGod?*" the Rhydon asked. The evil pokemon facefaulted. Shelly stopped. There was no sign of Ash and Misty anywhere. She had already found all of the pokemon that had been hiding. They weren't hard to find, especially since they trembled in the hiding spots (usually the bushes) when she got close. Ash and Misty, however, had not given away any clues as to where they were hiding. "Gosh, I can't find them." Shelly said, scratching her head as she looked around. Ash and Misty fell out of the tree they were hiding in. "YAAAY! The Pokemon Avenger triumphs again!" Shelly said, striking a dramatic pose that would've made Amelia wil Tesla Sailoon(1) sigh in disbelief. "owww..." Ash groaned out. "yeah..." Misty added. Most of the time, Rocket Headquarters was filled with Team Rocket members who were either going on assignment, returning from assignment or recovering from assignment. However, today, a majority of the building was completely empty. The reason was simple. Everyone who had any training in how to control a Pokemon was either on their way to Saffron city or on their way to being on their way. "HUP HUP HUP HUP HUP HUP HUP HUP HUP!" the last strike squad from Team Rocket chanted in unison as they ran down the corridor leading to the planes. They were all armed with strong pokemon and were ready to cause mass destruction and chaos. As the Rocket members got into their seats and prepared for the parachute attack, the plane's engines began to wind up. The engines started and the propellors began humming as their speed began increasing. The launch bay doors opened as the last Rocket member leapt into the plane and slammed the door behind him. Then he reopened the door, pulled his shirt out of the door mechanism and shut the door again. He hurried to his seat as the plane began it's takeoff. Shelly turned to Misty, uncertain of what she had just heard because of Squirt and Nibbler's dancing over the fact that Squirt had just recently transformed into a Wartortle. It was not unusual to see a Pokemon spontaneously evolve, but it was curious to watch. "You're what?" Shelly asked. "We're going out to eat..." Misty said, blushing a bit. "Okay. I'm going to see what else is in town." Shelly answered. Misty smiled and backed out of the room, closing the door behind her. "Well?" Ash inquired. "Not a clue. Let's go." Misty said, smiling. Ash and Misty hurried down the hall as Shelly looked after them. She smiled a knowing smile and re-entered the hotel room before heading to the vid-phone and dialing a number. "Hello? Oh, it's you, Shelly." the woman on the phone said. "Hello, Mrs. Catch'em. It may interest you to know that..." Shelly began, before changing into a sing-song tone, "Ash has a girlfriend! Ash has a girlfriend!" Jessie sighed. Her feet were killing her from all the walking and running she had been doing. Not to mention her wrists and ankles were still sore from being tied up (see the previous chapter for explanation). Further down the trail, Ben was squeaking along merrily, getting their pokemon to join in on the cheerful little song. He had adapted rather well to being a pokemon and he was learning to speak in plain English again. And if it weren't for the fact that he was now Ultra-Kawaii, she'd hit him for getting the other pokemon to hum along in time to "Ah, me so horny". Suddenly, she saw a tall wall in the distance. And the blue kanji that spelled out Cerulean City. Bambi raced back and tugged on Jessie's foot to get her to hurry. Sighing, she ran up to the group. It wasn't long before the group reached the main gate of the city and entered. Misty looked out of the window of the diner. It wasn't a super expensive french resturaunt with champagne and elegant glass, like she used to dream of, but there would be time for that in the future. If Ash really won the Pokemon League Championships, he'd have enough money to take her to a place like that. "Misty?" Ash asked, looking up from his BLT sandwich. "Hmm? What is it?" Misty inquired. "Well, you seem kinda strange." Ash replied. "I'm just thinking. I wonder how it might've turned out if we were both a little different. We get along so well, I can hardly imagine what it might be like." Misty replied. "Hmmm, I'd probably have ruined your bike or something and you'd probably be hounding me about it." Ash answered. They both burst into laughter. "That would be stupid, wouldn't it?" Misty asked. "Definitely." Ash answered. "Hey. Look." Misty commented, pointing out into the street. Ash looked at where Misty was pointing. A girl who looked a lot like the red-haired girl from Team Rocket that they had beaten at Viridian City was walking next to the diner with a backpack, a Mewoth and an Eevee. Her Meowth was carrying another backpack and the Eevee was sitting on her shoulder. The Eevee looked right at them. "Do you think it's her?" Ash asked. "I'm not sure. It could be her, but it might also be someone who just likes the same hairstyle." Misty responded. The Eevee apparently squeaked because they turned and entered the diner. Ash and Misty watched the girl as she entered. "Hi. Can we join you?" Jessie asked. "Uh, sure." Ash responded, feeling weird. "Aaah." Jessie declared, sitting down for the first time in about five hours. "Um, you're that Team Rocket girl... Jessie, right?" Ash asked. "I used to be with Team Rocket. I'm a changed woman." Jessie replied. "Oh?" Ash asked, suspiciously. "Yeah. You shoulda seen it. She rescued a buncha Pokemon from Team Rocket." Fox added. Ash and Misty grew more suspicious of Jessie. "You don't have to be suspicious, Ash. It's true. I made sure of it myself." the Eevee said, in a high-pitched and distorted voice. The voice was distorted and was of a completely different pitch, but Ash felt it was familiar. Too familiar. He struggled to remember any other talking Pokemon he may have met, but came up empty-handed. The Eevee seemed to notice this. "Oh. Right. Remember when I sang 'I'm off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz...' as I skipped away from the Viridian City Pokemon Hospital?" the Eevee asked. "BEN!?" Ash asked, incredously. "Yeah, it's me." Ben replied. "Let me guess. You were at a Cosplay Festival and things got out of hand." Misty inquired, not convinced. "No, a genetically altered Pokemon did this to me. It apologized later." Ben answered. Misty was far from convinced. "Here, maybe dis'll prove it." Fox said, taking out Ben's Pokedex. "You know, I'd forgotten all about that thing." Ben commented. "Well, check dis out." Fox said, pressing the replay button. A 3D projection of the cliffside fight with the Pokegod began playing. It ended with Ben plummeting. "That brings back some painful memories." Ben commented watching his digitized 3D form fall. "Well, I know for a fact that Professor Oak's Pokedex can only take in information through it's scanners, so it's gotta be true." Ash answered. "I guess." Misty commented. "But why are you with her?" Ash asked. "I felt she deserved a bettah life den as a jailboid, so we gotta deal for her." Fox explained. "I helped Ben bust up a Team Rocket operation and recovered the two hundred Pokemon they had captured." Jessie added. "And the police in Pewter City confirmed it. She's going to be taking my place as a Pokemon Trainer since I'm a Pokemon now." Ben answered. "Aren't there a few Pokemon that are Pokemon Trainers as well?" Ash asked. "Not that I've heard of. Beside, it's a little hard to throw a Pokeball with paws like these." Ben answered, presenting his tiny paws to the duo. Ash had to agree that it would be very difficult for the tiny Eevee to throw a Pokeball. Jessie and Fox ordered and requested a separate check. "So, what are you two doing now?" Misty asked. "We're going to the Cerulean City Gym to get the Cascade Badge." Ben responded. "Well, good luck." Misty commented. The paratroopers leapt from the plane, freefalling towards the city. Some might think that parachuting into a city is one of the many stupid things you can do. Others might think it was a perfectly planned attack. Both would be mildly right. While some of the Team Rocket members had trained extensively, others had not trained so extensively and still others had never even been on an airplane. Needless to say, quite a few members of Team Rocket were not ready for the parachuting mission. "SWEET MOTHER OF GO-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" one such parachuting Team Rocket member cried. It was joined by many other similiar cries, but let's just say that this is the most PG one we can show. Pikachu looked left, then right, then left again. Zappy was coming closer and Pikachu had no idea of what to do. They had run around the room a few times with Zappy proving she could keep up with Pikachu. Pikachu was out of ideas and hiding places. "Pi... ka... chuuu....." Zappy declared. Just then, Pikachu noticed something. "Pikachu! Pika! Pikachu kapika chupi kachu pi!" Pikachu declared, pointing. Zappy turned around and noticed it as well. Shelly was gone. And so were the other Pokemon. Their pokeballs, of course, were still there. "Pi?" Zappy asked. Pikachu shrugged. "*Um, let's check the bathroom. She might be in there.*" Pikachu suggested. Zappy and Pikachu looked into the bathroom. There was no one there. The other Pokemon were in their pokeballs, but they hadn't seen Shelly either. Zappy began getting nervous. "*HZZZZM, you know, I thought I heard someone else before I went into the Pokeball. HZZZM.*" Sir Stings-A-Lot commented. "*What if she's in trouble?!*" Zappy asked, despair evident in the electric Pokemon's voice. Just then, Ash and Misty walked into the hotel room. Misty walked over to the phone and dialed a number as Ash entered the bathroom. Pikachu opened the door and ignored Ash's yelp of surprise. In Pikachu's mind, this was no time for modesty. "Pika! Pikachu kapika!" Pikachu cried. "What's that, Pikachu? Shelly's missing?" Ash asked, pulling his pants up. "Pika!" Pikachu said, nodding frantically. "Misty! Something's up!" Ash said, zipping up his jeans and buttoning them before stepping into the bedroom. "What's wrong?" Misty asked, hanging up. "Shelly's gone! Zappy and Pikachu don't even know where she went." Ash said. Misty gasped. Shelly was silly and weird, but she never went anywhere without her Pokemon. She was a Pokemon Fanatic. If she went somewhere without her Pokemon, it was against her will. "All right, let's look for her. Um, get something with her scent on it so Pikachu and Zappy can track her down." Misty said, looking around for her backpack, just in case the person who took Shelly had taken other things. "Right." Ash responded, grabbing a shirt she was going to launder. "Poe... key... moon... Poe... key... moon..." the crowd chanted as they sat in a large, mostly unfurnished theater. Shelly stared at the giant swirling pattern on the movie screen, her eyes swirling in unison as she began chanting with the crowd. And, of course, everyone was saying it incorrectly, so it would take a few days to get them to say what the Cult Leader wanted them to say. "You what?" Jessie asked the Cerulean Gym Secretary as she stood outside of the gym. "The Gym Leader is away on business, but she called me and told me to give this to you. She said something about 'Good luck on your journey'." the secretary answered. Jessie, Ben and Fox exchanged glances, but accepted the two pokemon badges. "YAMCHA-SENSEI!" cried a young disciple of the Fighting Dojo. Yamcha, a battle worn Machoke with a 'X' scar on his left cheek and a scar running over his right eye, turned to face the young white belt. "What is it?" the Machoke inquired. "The sky! The sky is full of paratroopers! Saffron City is being invaded!" the human cried. Yamcha marched to the door and looked out. "Heh. Wonder if those psychics foresaw this?" Yamcha muttered to himself. "Indeed we did." Sabrina said. Yamcha spun to see the young psychic Sabrina standing in front of him. "Don't do that. You know I hate it." Yamcha growled. "I am sorry, but I am afraid, Yamcha, that this is a fight for others." Sabrina said, her brown eyes glowing with green light. Yamcha growled at the sight of the glow. He hated psychic power. An Alakazam gave him the scars he now sported right before Yamcha knocked it out cold. "While you and your followers would fight bravely, even with the Psychic Gym aiding you, we would not be able to stop this invasion." Sabrina responded. "Then what do you suggest?" Yamcha asked. "We wait and help the citizens of the city. There is a great pokemon trainer who will arise to put an end to this tyranny." Sabrina answered. "A great pokemon trainer, eh? Who is this pup? I can whip him into shape." Yamcha growled. "It is neither his mind or his body he must strengthen. But rather, his heart." Sabrina answered. "What sort of nonsense is this? Bring this super-trainer here and I'll show him what to do." Yamcha snarled. "Yamcha, if you do not heed my words, a pokemon of great importance to the world will die needlessly." Sabrina warned. Yamcha growled. Death of a pokemon, no matter how lowly it was, was something Yamcha could not allow. Unless it was an evil bastard that would kill indiscriminately. "All right, Sabrina, I'll wait. Two weeks, you hear. If I see neither hide, nor hair of this super-hero, I'm taking action to drive these losers out." Yamcha yelled. "It is a deal." Sabrina answered, smiling as she faded from view. Yamcha sat on the floor and meditated. He knew Sabrina had a reason to ask him to back down. She always had a reason to do anything. She wouldn't even engage in a pokemon battle without knowing something was going to come of it. His students approached him. "Master?" a young girl inquired. "Listen up, everyone. Sabrina wants us to wait for some super-trainer that's needed. And if this super-trainer doesn't show up, we'll take these guys down ourselves. Until then, we train. We train harder than we've ever trained before. You and your pokemon will need to be strong before the fight." Yamcha declared. Sabrina watched from the corner, invisible and still smiling. They would need all of the strength they could get. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (1) self-proclaimed Champion of Justice with an affinity for dramatic speeches and poses. "Did it work?" Yamcha inquired. "Yep. Your psychic-underwear trap worked." Puar, the Ditto, responded as it handed him Sabrina's panties. "Misty! Something's-AAAAAGH! IT CAUGHT!!" Ash screamed as he zipped up his jeans. "*We need... the PokeGod.*" the evil pokemon answered. "*Boss?*" the Rhydon asked. "*What?*" the evil pokemon inquired. "*What ARE those jeans you're wearing?*" the Rhydon asked. "*Beastie Boys, of course.*" the evil pokemon responded. "*SABOTAGE!*" the two pokemon sang.
