[Begin Transmission.] An Interview with the Cast of Pokemon HAHAHAHAHA! (as of Part 9) [As the lights illuminate the stage, we see Satoshi sitting on a very comfortable chair. Opposite of him are four chairs which look equally comfy.] Satoshi: [reclining in his chair] Greetings and welcome. I'm Satoshi, the main character in the original Pokemon game in Japan. I'm here to interview the cast and director of Pokemon HAHAHAHAHA! My first guest tonight is my counterpart, Ash Catch'em. [Ash walks onto stage wearing a white shirt that reads "I'm _ASH_, not Satoshi".] Ash: Hi everyone. [sits down opposite of Satoshi.] Satoshi: What's with the shirt? Ash: To make sure no one confuses you with me. Satoshi: Anyway, Ash, how is Pokemon HAHAHAHAHA! turning out in comparison to some of the other Pokemon stories you've been in? Ash: I have to say a vast majority of the directors... er, Authors out there are either not thinking hard enough or not original enough. I do like Jennifer Califf's works, even though she seems a little too stuck on James. She gives a new perspective on the Pokemon world and on Team Rocket. There's also three other stories that weren't that bad, like Shachihoko's "Terror of the Missingno", but most are poorly written stories where everyone spouts various catch phrases. I'll admit that A-kun has done a few catch phrases like "GO", but otherwise most of it is fresh. Satoshi: Any drawbacks working with A-kun? Ash: He seems to try and leave himself in as much suspense as the readers. Most of the scenes are by ear, but he does have a few ideas of what directions he wants the story to go in. Plus, he screwed up my name and he won't fix it. Something about it working with the plot. Satoshi: Anything you feel he could improve? Ash: Well, he needs to respond to his e-mail a lot more, but he's got a busy schedule and a lot of things tend to happen without warning. I'm not going to hold anything against him and I hope the readers won't either. Satoshi: Any last words? Ash: Um, read the story and support Pokemon, I guess. Satoshi: Thanks, Ash. Ash: Anytime. [Ash leaves.] Satoshi: Next up are the two actors who have or are playing the part of "Ben". [A young human male and an Eevee enter and sit down.] Satoshi: Now, both you play the part of Ben. Ben-Human: Yep. Ben-Eevee: Ee. Satoshi: So, how do you feel about sharing the same part? Ben-Human: I guess it's all right. A-kun said something about a possible cure, so I _might_ return for the later parts. Ben-Eevee: Eevee, Eevee. Vee ee eevee. Vee. Ben-Human: [angrily] I DO NOT DROOL IN MY SLEEP! [Ben-Eevee sticks it's tongue out at Ben-human. Ben-human grabs Ben-Eevee and begins strangling it. It bites him and begins clawing his face. A Raticate comes on screen and uses a Thunderbolt to calm them down. Once both wake up, the interview continues.] Ben-Human: Sorry, it's been kinda tense between us ever since he started eating my food. Ben-Eevee: Eevee vee eevee ee eevee vee vee eev eevee. Ben-Human: I did not. Satoshi: Um, anyway, anything you can spoil for us? Ben-Human: Not really. Maybe that the real Giovanni might be making an appearance. Ben-Eevee: Ee eevee vee- [Ben-Human clamps his hand over the Eevee's mouth.] Ben-Human: [hissing] Don't give that away! [Ben-Human picks Ben-Eevee up and leaves.] Satoshi: Um, oh-kay. Let's meet our next guest, Jessie, James and Meowth of Team Rocket. [The trio walks in and seat themselves in the chairs.] Jessie: [waving] Hi mom! Satoshi: Thanks for coming on the show. James: No problem. Satoshi: So, A-kun broke up Team Rocket, eh? Meowth: Dat's right. He's gotta big plan for us. Satoshi: Can you spoil anything big? Jessie: Well, my character is going to be cutting her hair, so that's going to be a bit startling. Oh, and I'm going to be traveling with Ash and company. I'll also be making large strides toward my original dream of becoming a Pokemon Master. Meowth: I'm gonna be deciding whethah I should evolve or not. James: I'll be making a comeback as a skilled rival. No more stupid plots and stuff like that. _PLUS_, I might get the chance to _KILL_ Butch and Cassidy. A-kun's not sure about that, but it might happen. Satoshi: Is there anything you feel is wrong with the story or could be improved? James: I'd like more of a chance to fight. I'm always getting knocked out or blown or something like that. Plus, I felt some things were a bit sticky. Jessie: My Team Rocket costume for one. Satoshi: Jessie, please! Try not to degrade to the level of the show. Jessie: No, really. Some joker poured syrup on the bottom of my boots, so I had a lot of trouble moving. Meowth: I tink dat da fight scenes could be longah. And he could fix my speech a bit more. Satoshi: Any final comments? Jessie: I hope there isn't a lemon side-story to this fanfic. James: I think Stone Cold Steve Austin should wrestle Jesse Ventura. Oh, and Jennifer Califf rules! Meowth: I wanna have some sorta super lasah in my charm. Satoshi: Thanks a lot. [The trio wave at the camera, hold up signs, steal coffee mugs and exit, stage left.] Satoshi: My next four guests are some of the new characters in Pokemon HAHAHAHAHA! Please welcome Shelly, Brick, Greg and Joyrock. [The four enter and sit down.] Satoshi: The four of you are new to the world of Pokemon. Are there any problems or things you like about the world that A-kun has constructed? Shelly: Well, I think that he brings more realism by having Ben get put into the situation of nearly having to mate. And I think the fact that new characters are showing up without too much of an introduction is realistic. I mean, let's face it, how many people are you going to know coming out of a small town like Pallet? But the problem is he's not making enough recurring characters. Joyrock: I don't know about that. I'll be showing up in the future as will most of the other characters he's shown. Brick: I like the way he made the world possible. You look at the Pokemon world by itself and you can distance yourself from it. Genetic manipulation and DNA viruses are fully possible nowadays. All you would need is a really contagious DNA virus for A-kun's version of it to work. Greg: I also like the way he mixes danger with humor. But, that's just me. I wish my character were a bit smarter, but I also get to play Gary, my 'big brother'. Satoshi: How does that work? You playing both Gary and Greg? Greg: It's tough in the scenes where we have to be having a conversation. But, conversely, it's kind of easy. We just have an actor who has the same hairstyle as Gary or Greg sit in one chair, I sit in the other, then we get a back shot of their head and my face while I say the lines. It's not too difficult. Satoshi: Anything big planned for your characters? Brick: I think I might get brainwashed, but it's all up to A-kun. Shelly: Well, we're going to be visiting a few of the sights that the original Anime had, just so A-kun can build up the world a bit more. Show some more reality. I think he said I might wind up giving up the dream of being a Pokemon Master and just be a Pokemon Nurse or maybe even a tutor for kids still learning about Pokemon. Joyrock: I'm going to get some big pokemon before I fight again. Greg: Greg'll be rotting in jail while Gary hunts down Ash and company. Don't expect Greg to be back. Gary'll be the focus from now on. Satoshi: Thanks for your time. [The four leave in different directions.] Satoshi: And now, the three newest Pokemon in the world of Pokemon HAHAHAHAHA! Please welcome Scyther, the PokeGod and the revised MewTwo. [The trio of Pokemon enter.] Scyther: Great to be here, Sssatossshi. PokeGod: I must agree. Great chairs too. MewTwo: Very comfortable. Satoshi: MewTwo, nice to see you again. So, have you found any problems with being altered or created? Scyther: Not really. It'sss niccce to be able to ssspeak, even with a hissssss. PokeGod: I wish he hadn't pulled that stupid 'even Pokemon make mistakes' thing to get the result he wanted, though. MewTwo: Indeed. Satoshi: 'Even Pokemon make mistakes'? PokeGod: I was originally supposed to become the evil force that was going to destroy the world and MewTwo was the slightly less evil creature which was going to help stop me. It was going to wind up being a massive battle. I didn't particularly like that, so after a lot of discussion with A-kun, I got him to change his mind. The next idea for me was going to be that I was on a mission to change all humans into Pokemon so there'd be a level playing field. In part Seven, where I summoned those Evolution Stones, I was going to turn Ben-Eevee into a super Pokemon and try to convince it to fight by my side, blah, blah, blah. It didn't really work out. So, the final idea was that I was a misguided Pokemon who was originally going to change all humans into Pokemon, but saw the light and has reformed. Sickeningly sweet, but it was better than the dark aspect that was originally going to be attributed to my character. MewTwo: I have to agree. I wasn't handled well either. It's funny that the three of us wound up drinking tea, but it was just a mess that he managed to work out. Later on, perhaps he won't have as many problems but he's trying to get a new flavor into the world of Pokemon. Give it more life than just battle. Satoshi: Any big plans for any of you planned in the current storyline? PokeGod: I'll be showing up at least twice more in the future. Big battles, both times. MewTwo: I'll be popping up as well. Plus, A-kun mentioned something about a friend doing a side-story between Cerulean City and the Rock Tunnel concerning me, but I don't have much more information. Reading his mind is like trying to stare through the sun. Scyther: I think I'll be joining Asssh and company asss a ssside-kick. Satoshi: One final question. Is A-kun going to explain how Pokemon can talk? Scyther: Yesss, in fact, it ssshould be in the next two chaptersss. Satoshi: Well, thanks. [MewTwo teleports out, the PokeGod turns invisible and sneaks out and Scyther flies out.] Satoshi: My next two guests are Brock and Misty, the Pewter and Cerulean City Gym Leaders respectively. [The Gyms Leaders enter and sit down.] Brock: Hey, great to be here. Misty: Same here. Satoshi: Both of you two worked on the original Animation. How different do you feel it is to work on this story? Brock: It's easier, definitely. So far, except for the build-up of Pokemon and cast members, there hasn't been too many hackneyed plots. Misty: It's nice to be shown with a better attitude rather than 'get mad and hit someone' attitude I had in the Animation. Satoshi: Any differences for your characters? Brock: I have to say I'm more like the Manga Brock. I'm older and I get to act really cool. Misty: A big difference in my character, but I already said why. Satoshi: Anything you can tell us about the next chapters? Brock: I'll be heading back to Pewter City after the Pokemon Wars, but I'll be showing up again before Ash heads to Indigo Plateau. I'm also going to be getting a girlfriend soon, I think. Misty: Ash and I are going to be together for a long time, but I think Jessie and company are going to be leaving soon after the battle at Saffron City. Satoshi: Any final comments or suggestions to other authors you've worked with. Misty: Um, please don't kill me? Brock: Stop making my head denser than the Rock Pokemon I work with. I _do_ have a brain, ya know. Satoshi: Any authors you both hate? Misty and Brock: Hachi Machi. Satoshi: Thanks a lot. There's a buffet over there, if you want. [points off-screen.] Misty and Brock: Thanks. [Brock and Misty head for the buffet.] Satoshi: And my final guest for tonight, the director of Pokemon HAHAHAHAHA!, A-kun. [A-kun appears suddenly and sits down.] Satoshi: GYAH! Don't _DO_ that! A-kun: [grinning] Sorry. Satoshi: Anyway, first of all, would you care to explain some of the things in Pokemon HAHAHAHAHA! that might confuse readers? Like the title, for example. A-kun: The title was, originally, was going to show my contempt for the Animated version of Ash. When you look at how he thinks and acts, it's just not very bright. He could succeed more often if he thought a bit more. But, as I watched the series more, I began to realize that the Ash in the series was going to build more meaningful relationships with his Pokemon. Not to mention he's supposed to represent the first-time viewer. Someone who hasn't played the game. While I didn't entirely agree with some of the parts in the Anime, I had to admit that the world was INTENDED more for children, but there were very grown-up things about it, like the fact that Pokemon can get seriously hurt, sick, etc. I'll agree that I'm not exactly the most detailing writer out there, but I'm trying to give the Pokemon World something special. Satoshi: Where did the idea of some of the Pokemon come from? A-kun: Well, the PokeGod was originally a rumor that turned out to be false. That or it was a major glitch. Either way, I got the idea to build a virtual God of Pokemon. But, then I began running into problems. Where did this Pokemon come from? How did it come to be? Things like that. Then, I found an inspiration. In the game, on Cinnabar Island, there's a burnt down science lab that you have to explore to find a key so you can enter the Cinnabar Island Gym. I began thinking "What happened here to do this much devastation?". Then, as you explore it, you find out it was a former genetics lab doing research on what would later become MewTwo. So, why not toss in a few more experiments? Satoshi: How did you come up with the idea of the PokeGod's power to change humans into Pokemon? A-kun: That was sorta of an odd thought. It came to me after I saw Fatal Fury: The Movie. I thought, "If this really was a God of Pokemon, what COULDN'T it do?". Well, it developed from there. Things like, well, what would it do if it ever got loose and managed to catch some of the scientists that weren't very nice to it? I tried not to make it too vicious, but it had to be fairly mean. Losing your humanity is one of those fairly mean things. I mean, the PokeGod could've changed them, beat them up, killed them, among other things. I think I found a relatively non-violent manner of dealing with it. Satoshi: Do you think giving Ash a more grown-up view was a good idea? A-kun: Sort of. I just wanted him to know more about basic Pokemon. Eventually, he'll return to being a learner rather than a teacher. Ten years old or not, he's still a kid. Satoshi: Why did you choose to keep Ash and Pikachu together? A-kun: It was an attempt to keep from alienating fans. If I had Ash choose any of the other Pokemon, people who hate that Pokemon would think "I would've chosen anything but THAT". Pikachu was kind of a way to compensate. What's kind of weird is, in a recent article on Pokemon in Animerica, one of the people who helped create the Animated version said almost the exact same thing. Creepy, huh? Anyway, Ash'll eventually get all three of the beginning Pokemon, but not in the way you see in the Manga or Anime. Satoshi: What's with all the random scanning that Ash, Ben and Jessie do? A-kun: Ash made a promise to complete the Pokedex for Professor Oak, remember? Ben made the same promise. Jessie's just keeping up on Ben's behalf. Besides, I didn't want really annoying people pointing out that so-and-so only had a single encounter with such-and-such and didn't scan it, thus he/she shouldn't have any data on it. Satoshi: Why the form of an Eevee for Ben? A-kun: Well, I wanted to give Ben more options than just 'do I want to evolve or not'. It's more of a 'do I want to evolve into this, this, this or do I just wanna forget about evolving all together?'. Satoshi: From what I've heard, you try to keep yourself in suspense, but at the same time, the actors have impressions of specific things that may occur in the future. How do you explain this? A-kun: It's not that I don't know what I want to have happen, it's more of: I've got an idea, but I don't exactly know how I'm going to reach that goal. Occasionally, something'll hit me and I'll have to either forget about it completely or wait until I can get back to that idea. I'm letting myself have more strings to tie up. Satoshi: Um, where the heck did Jonathan come from? A-kun: Well, I needed a human to be a liar/cheater/backstabber (Nastika (sp?) in the Animated series took this sort of role) and having ugly people like Nastika (sp?) be villians would be type-casting. Jonathan is going to be just ruthless. He just doesn't want to spend most of the funds he has. So, basically, I'm going to be making him out to be a total jerk. Satoshi: Any changes you're going to be making in the future? A-kun: I hope to get more descriptions in, but it's kind of hard to slow down when you get going. That or when I do put in a description, it seems kind of out of place. I also hope to get a more developed story. Satoshi: Anything you can spoil? A-kun: Someone is going to get kidnapped in the next chapter or so, someone else is going to come back, and someone's life will be changed forever. So basically, it's going to be like the standard episode of 90210 or Party of Five. Satoshi: Any final comments? A-kun: Just that I wish the real world would stop hasslin' me. Satoshi: Thank you and good night everyone. A-kun: Let's go check out the buffet. [End Transmission.]
