The rain was both comforting and irritating. Comforting as it was similiar to Yuki's mood and as the saying went, misery loves company. Irritating as the rain was relentlessly trying to run into her eyes as she attempted to walk straight.
The mere thought that Miranda was creating a clone of her mother was infuriating. It was bad enough the woman was making clones of existing VG fighters, but to violate the dead was unforgiveable.
Even if Yuki could see her mother one last time. Yuki sighed. It was confusing to think about. On one hand, she knew seeing her mother would ease the heartache. On the other hand, Miranda would no doubt try and brainwash her, which would force Yuki to fight her own mother. The more she thought, the more confused she became. Would she be able to fight her own mother? Would she be able to restore her mother to her right mind? How much was Miranda going to mess with her mother's mind?
She shook her head to clear it. One thing was on her mind, finding Miranda and making her pay. The memories of the two clones weren't very helpful in locating Miranda's base of operations, but she knew the general vicinity to look in. She coughed, feeling the opening symptoms to a bad cold coming on.
[This sucks. I know where Miranda is hiding, but I'm growing too sick to fight.] Yuki thought to herself, stumbling forward and into someone.
	"Sorry." Yuki mumbled, stumbling on.
"Yuki? Is that you?" came a familiar voice.
Yuki looked up to see Jun and Yuka standing no more than half a foot away. Glancing about, she noticed the bathhouse across the street. Sighing, Yuki came to the conclusion that trying to find Miranda at night and in the rain was pointless. Not only that, but she had already gotten lost.
	"Yeah, s'me." Yuki answered.
"Where have you been for the last three hours?" Yuka inquired, worried as the brown-haired girl swayed dangerously.
	"I..." Yuki began before collapsing.
"Well, that's what you get for wandering around in the rain." Jun sighed.
The two girls lifted Yuki up and carried her back to Jun's apartment.

Azumi sighed. Only a day had passed and already five more altered-clones had been brought into the hospital, along with Kaori Yanase.
"All six clones are in a state of catatonia, an injured VG fighter, and EIB agents. This place is starting to look less like a hospital and more like something off a FOX special." Azumi murmurred to herself.
"Azumi Asamiya?" came a voice from behind Azumi.
Turning, Azumi noticed Reimi Jahana standing in her usual fighting outfit while holding a bouquet of yellow roses.
"Thank you, but I'm afraid I'm more of a red rose fan." Azumi responded.
Rolling her eyes, Reimi retorted, "I bet. In any case, I'm here to see Kaori Yanase, not you."
"I heard about your fight with three of the clones. It would explain why two of the three appear to have been thrashed soundly." Azumi responded.
"I have no idea what my mother is planning to go with this. These clones were far weaker than us. Even with the XKB-9000s, they were of no match to even the people they were made from." Reimi noted, glaring into the room of catatonic clones.
"From what I know, Miranda was not one to just merely insult someone. I think this may have been a challenge of some sort, since the only people she bothered to clone are the only ones remaining in the VG tournament." Azumi noted.
"...." Reimi agreed, before heading down the hall to where Kaori was resting.
Knocking on the door, Reimi was greeted with a weak, "Come on it."
Opening the door, Reimi entered to see Kaori in fairly bad shape. The kickboxer's arms were both swathed in bandages, as was her torso. Her head had less bandages than the rest of her body.
"Kaori, how are you feeling?" Reimi inquired.
"Poorly, but I believe I will be able to make a full recovery. Most of the damage was bruising and mild fractures." Kaori responded.
"Don't push yourself. Satomi's clone was a lot stronger than I expected, so I'm unsurprised that she was able to do this. I'm more surprised by the fact that you defeated her so handily." Reimi told her soothingly.
	"Thank you, Reimi." Kaori answered.
"Just rest for now." Reimi told her, placing the roses in the complimentary vase next to Kaori's bed.
The kickboxer sighed and fell asleep as Reimi watched over her.
"Mother will pay, not just for making clones, but for interfering in the tournament." Reimi resolved aloud.
[And for hurting you, Kaori.] Reimi added.

Jun, Yuka, Ayako and Satomi sat in Jun's apartment, all around the couch, where Yuki was lying under a blanket, shivering and feverish at the same time.
"I can't believe she didn't come home. Or at least stay somewhere dry." Ayako fussed as she wiped the sweat off of Yuki's forehead.
"Hearing that her actions were like Miranda's must have really disturbed her. I can't blame her, though. I mean, Miranda was a disturbing person to begin with." Jun noted.
"Not to mention the fact that she's a horrible monster." Satomi growled.
"Satomi, relax. We'll deal with her in time." Yuka soothed.
"I'm serious, she's going WAY too far. I just know she's kidnapped Daisuke and now she's making clones of us." Satomi grumbled, motioning towards the TV, which was displaying the up-to-the-minute report on the now national hunt for the person responsible for cloning the VG contestants.
"Frankly, I'm more insulted at the fact that they weren't even much of a fight. Sure, they're about six days old or something like that, but I mean, it's pathetic." Jun huffed.
"Well, she's going to have to come out before the week is up." Yuka noted.
The two frustrated VG fighters sighed. Just then, Yuki clutched at her throat and began thrashing. The other VG fighters quickly moved to restrain her.
"What's going on?!" Ayako asked, worried as Yuki began gnashing her teeth and turning in an attempt to wriggle free.
The answer hit Satomi and Yuka at the same time.
"Miranda!" the two empathic VG fighters answered.
"Can't anyone do something?" Ayako begged.
Satomi and Yuka exchanged brief glances.
"Jun, Ayako, take our places. We're going to try and calm her down." Satomi ordered.
Realizing what they were up to, Jun took Yuka's position, effectively pinning Yuki's legs. Ayako, though confused, took Satomi's place holding Yuki's arms. Satomi and Yuka closed their eyes. Each girl laid a hand on Yuki's forehead.

"Bison, my old friend, how nice to hear from you after all these years..." Miranda cooed.
"Miranda, I didn't know you were still alive. The report on your death seemed so final." M. Bison, crime lord and dictator of Shadowloo, responded over the phone.
"I knew you missed me. After all, I'm one of roughly six people who could ever truly match you toe to toe." Miranda answered.
"Actually, that number has gone up since I last saw you, my dear." M. Bison huffed.
"This is new. Usually, it was practically an insult to mention even one person being able to match you." Miranda snickered.
"Yes, well, I've been having problems with our old friend Rose." M. Bison responded.
"Hmmm, I have an intriguing little deal for you. I'm in a prime position to nab that Goddess I mentioned a few years back, but I need some help training up a particular member of my team. She's a special case and we're very short on time. We need someone who could toughen her up and take her energy blasts in return. In exchange, I could be willing to have Rose dealt with..." Miranda began.

	M. Bison set the phone down with a new grin on his face. The tyrant would only admit to himself that the other Street Fighters in the world could match him, but now Miranda was back. Miranda, the only woman who he truly considered an equal in cruelty, had such bizarre and intriguing plans that it never failed to bring a smile to his face.
"Balrog, Sagat, you are to head to Japan immediately. Your mission is to toughen up a new ally." M. Bison declared.
The boxer and kickboxer exchanged confused glances, but nodded. What M. Bison wanted, M. Bison got.
"Ah, love is in the air..." M. Bison murmurred to himself before breaking out into another fit of manical laughter.

===============================================================================================

I apologize for the shortness of this chapter. Things have been throwing me off. I do best when I get into a groove, but lately, I've been getting too many new and radical ideas for things like Evangelion, but I know I'm not talented enough to bring them out. To make up for something that I may or may not perceive as my own poor writing style. Bad stories have corrupted me. I actually read a "psychological thriller" story where the final chapter had six or seven people doing the same action phrased the exact same way ("stood up and came over") to pin down a criminal. I got the impression that each character pretty much said to themselves, "God, this story is dragging. I mean, my ass is sore, I've been wondering what to do for chapters, I get no focus on who I am, but rather who I was a few years ago... wait, my number's up... better stand up and walk over there to pin down the criminal. Hey, maybe I'll get shot! YEAH!"
Bad. Very very bad. I'm-not-even-going-to-list-it's-name-because-I've-forced-myself-to-forget-it-because-it's-that-bad bad. I haven't been this disturbed since I was forced to read to plays by Edward Albee, the worst writer and poet since.... hmmm... who wrote The Great Gatsby?
In any case, between the forced reading and my teacher's amusement at the whole "I just blushed and giggled and went sticky wet." line (to the point that he actually had us try and find a deeper meaning for it), I was nigh-homicidal about Edward Albee. This book brought out a far worse hatred.
Enough of this rant. You want more fighting and sex. I know that. It's coming up as soon as I can make it halfway plausible.
