Kamunting is situated off the North-South highway, 88 km from Penang Island (in the north), 80 km from Ipoh and 302 km from Kuala Lumpur (in the south). Kamunting is a new township 3 km north of Taiping.
Kamunting is about 1 1/2 hours drive south of Penang Island or about 3 hours drive north of Kuala Lumpur. Just follow the North-South Highway (PLUS) and turn in at the interchange of North Taiping (Taiping Utara).
Kamunting is located in Perak which is one of the many states found in west coast of the Peninsula. The Peninsula of Malaysia connects Thailand in the north and Singapore in the south.
