FEEDBACK

We are the French company (LE MARAIS PROD), you will find our logo on the CD, which is responsible for the HIT GENERATION SAW compilation.

First thank you for your article on it. Of course, you are right, these weren't the BEST Saw songs which were compiled, but definitively the most popular here in France.

We choose to use "Ferry 'Cross The Mersey", because of all the charities done by SAW and it was the only track available. WORLDS APART were not forgotten because they are very big here in France, perhaps the most successful foreign band in our country !!!

We are planning a follow-up to this compilation, but since nothing is already signed, I can't tell you more yet.

Anyway, if you have the opportunity, please let us know how successful is the compilation in your country, if it's charted and everything...

We would like to know also which tracks were the most famous and successful around Asia, before selecting our second compilation track-list.

By the way, if you are interested, we can always send you one copy of the French compilation. If this is the case, please, answer us with your address.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Regards,
Thierry WILLEMS

Hi...I would like to recommend that the tracks inside "Hit Generation vol. 2" should be all 12" rare remixes like the one issued by Pride Music, Australia. Since it will be more worth than 7" edit version. I think most of the PWL collectors want to keep 12" version in CD format and it's more nice to hear the sharp, clean sound. Hence pls. tell the involved person to consider this matter. For the wishing tracks, I will propose soon if possible.

Bye SS

Thank you for forwarding me the letter from the fan about the HIT GENERATION compilation (see above).

I quite agree with SS (whoever she or he is) but the HIT GENERATION was aimed to the large audience using the 80's nostalgia, it was not a fan aimed compilation ,even if it was a fan compilation.

By the way, when Pete WATERMAN visited us in Paris, he told us that almost everything has been released now from the Golden Years.

The problem of the 12" versions is that you can only use 12 to 14 tracks on a compilation instead of the 20 tracks we put on the French version. This is only a matter of business...

Anyway I sure hope that we will soon be able to release a follow-up with some surprises, so please be patient.

Your idea has been think of, since we would like to release also a collector's set if the success with two CDs (including one with inly 12" versions on it). Just keep your fingers crossed and hope that we will be able to make it...

Regards Thierry

Hi...

I'm still wondering why the project plan of vol. 2 should consist of 7" version in 1 CD and the 12" versions in another CD. I think they should contain all 12" mixes in 2 CDs...this will effect your sales for sure. Although they contain less tracks, but most people tend to listen to 12" version more than 7". I am sure that volume 1 are not purchased in large quantities...a lot of my friends are not interested in 7" although it contains a lot of tracks. We are interested in the quality of the tracks, not quantity. So please think carefully before issuing vol. 2. We would like to refer to the hit factory 3 released by Pride Music Australia...this also contains unreleased tracks which are 12", not 7" !!! and it is worth buying.

Bye
SS
