most we can share is that he is the Will that created and controls Yggdrasil, its Core and Operative System. They have to maintain a physical shape themselves, in order to keep control of the material and the unmaterial, though this impy a noticeable dispersion of their energy. This shedding of energetic bits is the cause of many of the bugs occasionally found crawling throughout the System. The Goddesses generally dress up their body in a feminine shape (from which, Goddesses, logic?), but they can show up in every form: a lad, a cat, an arm, a gun, a keyboard, a red apple, whatever their fancy likes. The reason we chose female's clothes is that they're much gorgeous and they seem to have a major grasp on most the forms of life (if even on unliving objects). Each Goddess mantains one Office, which corresponds to one sector (Branch) of the (Tree) System. The Office cannot be accessed by anyone but the Mistress Goddess, or, alternatively, by someone else with the permission of the Mistress Goddess herself. However, nobody can use access to an Office if the Mistress Goddess is not in there. The two to whom they're strictly bound (like a hand is bound to the wrist and the arm), they can operate in her place at unlimited distance within the Yggdrasil boundaries, and very limited distance outside Yggdrasil. The Angel is the reflection of the Goddess' own mind and character, it's really like a mirror of her very spiritual side. The Angels are usually unnamed, identified by a possessive or their misterss' name (i.e. 'my Angel', 'your Angel', 'Urd' Angel' and so). Though recently, due to the diffusion and popularity of the Kosuke Fujishima's work, who's used some really neat names for Angels, we're starting calling them differently, and we're going to use such names on these pages. The role of Angels vary depending on situations. On a daily basis, they run the major task of messengers (from which, of course, thy can be properly titled as 'Angels'); they move swiftly through the paths of the System, perfect espansion of their Goddess and communicate, a sort of telepathic mean. Occasionally they act other roles, such as guardians of the Office during the absence of the Mistress Goddess. Why? Well, for a start, if there were no demons, Goddesses would be unemployed. With no contrasts to solve, no surfaces to polish, no skeins to to unravel, what would we do? But there's more. Yggdrasil is a mean of balance. Balance is a two sides game, and balances do know. There cannot be balance in a one sided game. Light stand alone (or darkness stand alone, for that matters) is an excess itself. So you see a dark side was indispensible to the Master's purpose. |

Two other Goddesses belong to the YHO, wearing the role of System Debugger, and Helper Goddess: they're, respectively, Skuld and Belldandy. The Debugger helps the Maintainer in the bugs'
hunt and clearance, while the Helper Goddess is assigned to communications
be them internal or with the external world. She's also occupied
in filtering the informations from the afterWorlds and to gather them ordinately
into the Yggdrasil Archives. Occasionally, she enters the Wish

a tie. ![]() ![]() Being detached from Yggdrasil in a way, the EOC has its own rules and methods, and can hold liberties (such as major capabilities of reaching the Planet) that other Offices could not without affecting the System's equilibrium. On the other hand, like any other Yggdrasil Goddess
Office, EOC is maintained by a single Goddess, namely the Earth
Helper Goddess, Peorth. ![]() |
