It was a simple smile, man to woman and woman to
           man. Their eyes locked and for that moment, time and
           space froze. To them, everything had come to a
           standstill, everything hanging on the edge, the
           noise around them were discarded as they became
           enveloped in their perfect world. A world of only
           the two of them.

           Their hands intertwined on the dance floor, locked
           together as he put his arm around her waist. It felt
           warm, so comforting and so reassuring. It was said
           that the eyes are the windows to a person's soul but
           for them, as they gazed into each other's eyes that
           night, as time froze for that perfect moment, they
           looked into each other's hearts. She placed her head
           gently upon his chest and held it there, wanting and
           wishing that it could be like this forever.....

           ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
           The moon shone dimly that night, the gentle lapping
           of the waves against the shore added to the serenity
           as they held each other's hands and strolled along
           the water's edge. Both had said nothing that night,
           both had just remained in silence, each wondering
           what was on the other's mind. She, thinking about
           how perfect the last three weeks had been, just like
           how perfect tonight was. He, ... He stopped and
           glanced out over the waters. Sitting her down, he
           sat behind her and wrapped his arms around her. He
           rested his head gently on her shoulders and she felt
           that same warmth that had captured her that very
           first night.
           She thought she heard him sigh and out of her eyes,
           she thought she saw his glisten with tears. She
           broke the hold and turning back, she looked into
           those eyes. Nothing was said and nothing was done
           but his eyes told her that he had to go. The
           questioning look of "why", "when" and "will u be
           back" never was answered as he whispered softly into
           her ear, "I love you," before disappearing into the
           night.
           She felt it, warm trickles down her cheek, warm like
           his hold. She looked over where they had walked
           along the beach and already, the tide had reflected
           reality as his prints were washed away, leaving hers
           alone by themselves.
           ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

           Every night, she came back to the shore; every
           night, she pined for his return. But every night,
           was always the same....

              > For centuries I have,
                                   Waited and longed.
                                 A promise so ancient,
                                    It is as old as time.

                  Your eternal promise,
                                I hold deep in my heart.
                                       Every night as I,
                                     Gazed at the stars.
                              They reminded me of you,
                                      Your lovely smile,
                                 Your beautiful warmth.

                            Cradled by the gentle winds,
                                 I remember you again.
                              I recall our times together,
                                   Our unspoken pact,
                                Born on the same Earth,
                                   A miracle romance.

                                        My silent wish,
                                   Sails the seven seas.
                              My wish to see you again,
                                   Will always be there.

                                      Oh, do you know,
                                How long I have waited?

                            Searching among humanity,
                                I seek to find you again.
                                Deep within me I know,
                              You will remember me too.

                                  Yes, indeed I believe,
                           One day I will see you again.
                                  Rays of soft starlight,
                         Will lead me to you once more.

                                 When the time is ripe,
                                   We will meet again.

                               For that would rightly be,
                                         Our Reunion.

      Well, how did you find it?  Never mind, I'll leave it to your imagination then.  This story and poem was a joint effort between my friend Trevor and me.  I take this opportunity to thank Trevor, whom in the midst of his tight schedule, still took the time to complete this story for me. ^_^
      Thank you so much for visiting this section.  By the way, there is a sequel to this poem and story, it's titled Betrayal.  I'm going to think of a story to go with the poem, or maybe I'm going to pester Trevor again.  See, he's running away at the mention of that.(hey, wait up...):P
